Judas Goat
Date of Scene: 30 December 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Gorilla Grodd, Katherine

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd has a vague idea of what he needs to do, but realizes he needs a lot more intellect to do it. Sure, one option was finding a smart person and eating their brain, but that was messy and often started a cycle of revenge. Right now, he was toying with a device that would allow him to post cognitively steal intelligence based on equipment but to do that, he needed a component in a lab that he was scouting out. Several of his drones were circling the location while he watched remotely a mile away.

Katherine has posed:
Drones in any area, especially ones that Katherine could identify as clearly up to no good, were ones she was interested in finding. This era of technology was typically pretty easy to find, hack and then alter programming, though these drones were especially well designed. That's another thing that made them stand out. The laboratory, though supposedly secret, was something Katherine had been keeping an eye on to see where their technology was leading... especially their more experimental devices. These could be of great harm. Which is why she was quickly making alterations to the device on hand, having gained access via forged documents that claimed she was a new engineer, and since she could show engineering skills and proper identification that held up to investigation, she was now in the very same lab the drones were targetting.

Her goal, to edit the device to where it would no longer do what was necessary. And still allow it to get stolen. There's nothing that causes a repeat offense than failing to get what was wanted. There was a chance she might be taken or killed by the criminal looking for this device, but she was unconcerned about her 'life' since she isn't alive.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Anything that increased intelligence could do harm, and in the hands of Grodd, it would definitely do so. Still, he was meticulous and when not wasting his time with Banana heists or turning people into gorilla's few minds in the universe could match his sheer vision and cunning. A few, but he had a lot less emotional baggage than most. A few blips on his console made him consider that there might be something unusual in the lab but he couldn't get a specific.

Katherine was able to find the device without too much problem, in a locked clean room with some impressive security. It would be no match for Grodd though.

Katherine has posed:
Wandering around in her lab coat, the skirt-suit she had picked out as very scientific and a pair of thick rimmed glasses made her otherwise exaggerated looks not stand out so much. And so, the security scanned her badge and she moved inside of the clean room. Some scans and ultraviolet radiation to kill off any potential hazards, and this was just to get to the robotic arms that controlled the engineering process. She was going to have to work quickly based upon the intel she was getting from the drones and their pattern of identification. If the person who was behind this was intelligent, the drone's were now entering a standby lookout mode.

Controlling the robotic arms were easy. The tough part was making additions to the device and removing pieces without substantially altering what it seemed like it could do. This could not be obvious sabotage, and it could not so limited as to allow someone to guess at the missing components. Re-engineering the device, Katherine started with the physical pieces but also from her badge being scanned in at the door, she was using a quantum fork to quickly alter the code. The programming alterations were far faster than the physical ones, for obvious reasons. Quantum AI designed as a virus in a far future parallel universe designed to fight against an alien swarm of nanites... this was just an intellect enhancing transferrance device that could digitally encode the entire human brain. Child's play.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd could tell that alterations were being made to the grid immediately, and his scans of the device showed that something was going on. Grunting, he considered this too important to let just drones handle until he was overwhelmed so he finally teleported into the building directly, Gravity Cannon in hand. He also had a prominent helmet and was prepared to get rough if need be, having no real idea of Katherine's intent.

Katherine has posed:
The code alterations were done quickly but Katherine was in the midst of the alterations when Grodd appeared. Continuing to do her work, she looked back to see Grodd and squinted some before saying, "Hello? Working here. Sorry, were you looking for something, I could help point you in the direction of?" Like you had just landed and needed directions to the bathroom or something similar. She doesn't appear intimidated, though it's pretty clear its' not 'bravery' either, its more the lack of being able to be afraid if anything. The security, on the other hand, were outside of this room and were working on getting clearance to open the door.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd is a bit non plussed at the complete lack of suprise from the human. He hadn't even put up a shield so a giant armed gorilla teleporting would send most people into a panic mode. He was intruiged and immediately tried scanning her surface thoughts. "What are you doing? There is a chance in the equation here...and I'm betting its you." It was bravado, but was accurate bravado

Katherine has posed:
Continuing to work on the device, Katherine grins a bit, "I am Katherine. Nice to meet you." She mentions as she stops for a moment, "I would put out my hand to shake, but, as indicated. I am working." Her surface thoughts come back with basic information, she's kind of hungry, focused, and a little happy. Though any continued surveillance of her surface thoughts will show that these basic bits seem to continue to pop up, and have little relevance to what she's actually doing or saying. Might fool a normally intelligent telepath, but one with superior intellect like Grodd might notice the pattern rather quickly as either someone trained to resist surface thought scanning or perhaps some other artificial defense. "I may be, though I am just an engineer working here, at least for today. I could show you my badge?"

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd says, "Grodd," he grins again, "the pleasure is mine. And what precisely are you working on?" The sheer irony of the situation fascinates him to no end so he lets her do what she wants for now, but he begins to slowly tweak her thoughts towards trusting him a bit more. He defintiely intruiged by what he sees. "Yes, show me your badge."

Katherine has posed:
There's a pause and she looks over at the device. She tilts her head a bit and then turns back in the direction of Grodd, "Well, it is a neurotransmission and cloning device, kind of built into one. If completed it would be able to do things such as transfer skills, knowledge, overall intellect from one person to another. When you go to alter her 'thoughts' that's when something bizarre happens. You can't make a connection, that that she's blocking or that she's somehow resisting anything. It's... her mind, she doesn't have one, not in the psychic sense anyhow. The person before you looks and even smells like a biological being, any other super senses you may have would indicate as such, but she does not have a biological brain even though at first it seemed like she might. She grimaces a little, fully unaware of the psychic attempt and sort of turns her body to face Grodd, torso out a bit, "Over on my left side there, that's my badge. Sorry... hands are sort of busy, but feel free to take a look. You can teleport? That's rather fascinating, I can't."

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd begins to examine her closely and is quite sure that something is very amiss. "You definitely know what it does. Now tell me...what are you prepared to do to protect it. You see it is coming with me. And yes, I can. I have a lot of very interesting tech.

Katherine has posed:
When you tell her that it definitely is coming with you, Katherine nods her head, and then pulls her arms from the machine. Whatever she was doing basically is done, "Well, Grodd. I would do anything to protect the world's biological sentient population. If you are taking it, I am an expert on this device, now, and as long as you would harm no one else in this facility to have this... I will come along with you." She mentions looking to the door where the security still cannot get inside, perhaps her doing as well?

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd is VERY curious at that but nods, "Bring the device." He wants to examine this rather interesting technological marvel and intends to do just that. He waits for her to grab it and come with him before activating the teleporter

Katherine has posed:
Taking the device out of containment is an easy process, though takes a few moments before Katherine grabs it. She smiles and walks over toward Grodd, "I have read you are rather intelligent." She makes the comment know, "Unless there are other Grodd's wandering around that are large sentient gorillas." She shakes her head, "Probability of that is nearing zero." She waits to be teleported.

Gorilla Grodd has posed:
Gorilla Grodd teleports them away to discuss who and what she is and use the device on his own. He has great plans here.
