Tony's 4th of July Bash
Date of Scene: 05 July 2018
Location: Stark Tower, New York City
Synopsis: Avengers and JLA assemble at Tony's party, along with some dignitaries and press.
Cast of Characters: Iron Man, Slipstream, Green Lantern (Jordan), Thor, Wasp (van Dyne), Spider-Woman (Drew), Superman, War Machine

Iron Man has posed:
The party is at STARK tower, one of the massive event spaces on an upper floor. It is not a strictly enforced black tie affair specifically, but everyone is very well dressed despite that, or they are in super-hero attire. The crowd is interesting: a mix of heroes that Tony knows (mainly Avengers of course), as well as representatives from other groups. There's some press there, and a rather large array of various government and foreign dignitaries that are enjoying the festivities. There has been minor displays of beautiful visuals outside of the tower for the past hour even if Tony Stark has not made his personal appearance yet. The displays are gorgeous technological feats: designs and shimmering images that evolve into stories of victory and freedom. Most all of it is in Captain America's colors, which suggests more than anything that the displays were not done by Tony himself.

There is an open bar (although not to the underaged, who are tagged), a great deal of food, music, ambiance. It is a pleasant party of mingling.

Slipstream has posed:
The youngest of Avengers known as Drake is there. He's dressed in a nice pair of black slacks, a button down black shirt and a solid silver tie with a dark jacket on. He looks well polished instead of his usual torn jeans and Overwatch gaming shirts and hoodies he wears. On his back is Snowball, strapped in her sling with a U.U expression on her digital face. Sipping a soda, he is mostly standing off to the side awkwardly as he watches the heroes and celebs mingle with each other. At times he offers a quick smile when someone makes eye contact, a half guarded and socially awkward expression before he goes back to sip on his drink.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
The invitation was sent to the JL computers, and who was on mission monitor duty when it came in? None other than Hal Jordan. Deciding that since his shift was over, why not attend the party? Arriving incommunicado, as in, out of costume/hero suit/green tights, Hal smiles, looks around, and grabs the nearest drink. With a smile, and a sip, he looks around, taking in everyone who is here. So far, it is a who's who, that's for sure.

Thor has posed:
"I wonder, Monsieur Thor, if your people will look back upon the day you arrived in orbit around the our planet as a holiday to be celebrated as well as the Americans look on the day they finally cast off the yoke of British oppression, no?" The youthful seeming yet dignified Adelaide Flavienne was smiling and conversing in a small circle of diplomats, her blonde hair perfectly done up and her dress exquisite yet tasteful. She held a flute of champagne in one hand while she chatted with her circle of colleagues as well as the Avengers' Thunderer.
"It is difficult for me to imagine celebrating anything as it stands, Madame Secretary. Perhaps when the time is right my people will show me how to do so once again, when it suits." Thor is there, likely out of some touch of solidarity or perhaps to make contact with those foreign diplomats that move about the crowd. Though, for the moment, he seems to not be doing too spectacular of a job.
"Non, then why is it you come here? Surely you should not be seeing to the distribution of proper food, clothing, what have you? What is it your people still need? It has been some time, yes?"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Another to walk in was Janet Van Dyne, in a black dress full of small sequines. The dress she has is very low in the back, mostly because she is 4 feet tall, and at this height, it causes her wings to appear, which she uses to make her look like a pixie at this particular party. She grabs herself a rum and coke before she walks over towards Drake and nudges him on the shoulder. "Drake, am I right? So glad you made it onto the Young Avenger team." She then holds out her hand. "Janet Van Dyne....The Wasp."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
It was a quandary for Jessica Drew. Secret identity in the Avengers is a bit faux pas. And showing up to a fancy party in a spider costume is even worse. Besides, hard to suck a cocktail weenie through that mask. And so, she has accepted a level of trust here, among friends. She arrives in a short black strappy dress with a red satin sash. On the sash is a small pin, blue and purple ribbons that have been circulating in solidarity with the Asgardian plight. Her hair is a cascade of soft dark waves down over her shoulders, and she wears a velvet choker beset with a silver spider.

Superman has posed:
Kal drops from supersonic speeds at a safe distance then approaches the tower in classic Superman style, cape flapping to the side. He drops down lightly on the balcony. He smiles gamely for the cameras and walks over to the gover tonor and mayor, standing nearby, and shakes their hands. He speaks with each of them briefly. Then Kal begins slowly making his way through other greetings and inevitable requests, some veiled, some not, toward the door to go inside.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Taking another sip of his drink, and grabbing a few finger foods, Hal Jordan enjoys the scenary and the people present. "He can sure throw a party..." Hal says, under his breath. Shaking his head, he smiles, and leans against the nearest wall, not getting too involved in the group just yet.

Hal is wearing a collared grey shirt, open collar of course, with a brown leather "bomber" jacket. His summer one. His dark blue plants are almost black, and his shoes are black, but a little worse for wear. His hair is unkempt, wind blown, as normal, and his right hand holds the most powerful weapon in the universe, which his visible as he lifts the glass to his lips once more.

Hal's attention wanders over to Thor, and he listens intently with a little help from his jewellry. Interesting. Then his eyes wander over at the short glass of water that arrives in a black dress. Ms. Van Dyne. Raising an eyebrow, Hal smiles, and nods in her direction. And then Superman arrives. Shaking his head, Hal chuckles. "Leave it to Supes to arrive all cape billowing and heads directly for the big dogs."

Iron Man has posed:
Some beautiful pictures are being taken on the balcony when Superman arrives, with all of the patriotic imagry behind him. And all the STARK branding that is just about everywhere. The world can see this alliance bright and clearly, and there's good reasons for a lot of this. Hope is important.

Tony arrives. It isn't as big of a fanfare as he usually does. But the reason why is extremely obvious: he's battered. But the show MUST go on, even if he's physically miserable. He has had some help from a makeup team to reduce the bruise down the right side of his face, and a minimal white bandage on that eyebrow, but it's still apparent. He took a beating. He moves with confidence and wincing, which would suggest a rib problem on that same side, but there is also a very fierce willpower in his dark eyes. He's getting his damn party.

"Drink /now/," Tony flings out at a waiter, and picks up a glass off a tray right upon entry. "Yes, I'm fine," Tony answers a flock of reporters immediately. "Par for the course in heroism. Take a lot more to knock me out of play." It does diffuse him being challenged over throwing a party instead of fighting fungal monsters. For Tony specifically, at least.

Slipstream has posed:
Sip. Sip. Sip. Don't look at your phone. Don't look at your phone. Don't look at your ph-- "Oh! Hi! I'm Drake. Yeah. It's really nice to meet you Miss Wasp. Er.. Miss Janet.. I mean.. Van Damn.. Dyne! Van Dyne.. not.. Van Damn.. he's .. the actor.." Drake trails off in a bit of a hyperactive ramble as he gives a flush of his cheeks. "You're like super famous by the way. Holy crap, Superman just arrived. Wow." He pauses. ".. Wow. Um.. So. Er.. nice party, huh?" He says, trying to look casual as he clears his throat, offering a grin to his fellow Avenger. "Tony sure knows how to throw the big ones."

Thor has posed:
Across the way, Thor could be considered looking something close to what one might think dapper were it not that he seemed to be so uncomfortable in such finery. And now, with the French delegate before him and with the small, smug, wry smiles all about him his features darken and he gives a nod to the half-circle of diplomats that are all looking at him with a measure of condescension. "If you'll forgive me, perhaps you are right. I shall check in immediately."
And with that he turns and positively storm clouds away, his large form cutting through the crowd easily. Far off the clouds might well darken.

Superman has posed:
Kal is walking in through the balcony door as Thor comes storming in the opposite direction. Kal smiles apologetically to a young reporter peppering him with questions, none of which he has answered.

"Thor, I've been looking forward to meeting you," he says and extends a hand. "I'm sorry about Asgard, and your people. I visited Frigga's Mercy the other day, but missed you. I want you to know the Justice League will do what it can for you."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Jan actually laughs a bit. "Stop...take a breath.....continue to breathe. Just call me Jan. And yeah, Tony usually throws the mega parties. he can afford to." She says as she nods her head to Hal, and gives him a playful wink. But then she notices Thor literally part the crowd and storm away. "ugh....Diplomats. Hi, My name is 'craponnacloud', how can I dump on your day?" She says as she watches Thor.

But then back to Drake. "Yeah...just a little famous. But, I'm just a normal human being....that can shrink and grow in size. Nothing major." She then laughs.

Iron Man has posed:
Tony spots Janet and Drake, and smiles over his drink a little bit. "Come with me," Tony invites his circle of reporters. A few other reporters have now seen the host of the party as well, and are diverting over. Superman and Thor, though, keep theirs rapt: photos of Thor and Superman shaking hands are going to be all over the media promptly, if that occurs.
Tony steers directly to Drake and Janet. "Janet, I need to borrow him a minute," he winks to her, and immediately attempts to throw his left arm around Drake's shoulders, companionable. Tony might have started early with a few drinks or pain killers. The smile is confident and amused. "I need to present our newest young Avenger. Invaluable during our work in Central Park," Tony announces loudly, offering a mild supportive squeeze to Drake's shoulder.

Slipstream has posed:
"I'm the world's number one ranked Overwatch player and I have now up to fifty million followers on Twitch." Drake says with a quick grin on his face. "But, uh .. I don't get recognized in the real world often since I spend most of it online tapping a keyboard and mouse. " He continues to look about the crowd, watching them all converge upon the big strong guys that have entered the room. "Man, I bet Thor pulls the hottest babes in the world. He makes it look super easy too. He has that Brad Pitt in the movie Troy thing going on but his abs are real and not photoshopped." He flashes a grin to Jan again. "And I also bet ... --- err... Hey Tony! I.. wait.. where are we going?" He says as his eyes widen as he finds his shoulders draped about and led off. ".. Bye!" He calls over to Jan for a moment before he is brought in front of the others to be presented in public as an official 'Young' Avenger. His cheeks flush and he lifts a hand to give an awkward wave to those who stare at them, swallowing tightly. "... Hi."

Thor has posed:
Drawing up short, halfway to the open bar, Thor's attention is drawn by Superman and he stops long enough to give a single nod. Then Superman's forearm is grasped in a warrior's handshake, "Aye, word of your visit reached my ears and I appreciate the effort you granted, placing yourself in harm's way." He turns, stopping by the bar and then says over his shoulder. "Mead, if you have it, lad. Ale if not." Not that that helps the bartender too much though likely there's a bit set aside for just such an occasion by the thoughtful Stark.
But then it's back towards Superman that the Asgardian speaks, "I was on Midgard, performing duties much as this one. For all the good it has served my people." His features twist as a thought occurs to him. One he doesn't voice, however.
But then Drake has his moment being brought to the fore by Tony and the tall blonde gets a faint half-smile. "To the victor!" He calls raising a fist.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"Looks like a lot of heroes are attending the party." As Janet winks at him, Hal smiles, and winks back. Something for later, perhaps. As Superman gives the League's support, Hal moves closer, nods. "Good call. We will be there to help if need be Thor. The League is behind you." Nodding to Kal, Hal says, "Superman. Nice night." Turning back to Thor, "Thor. I usually wear a mask, but just between us, I'm Green Lantern." Hal holds up his ring, and adds, "Incommunicado tonight." Nodding towards Drak, and Tony, Hal says, "Nice party."

Superman has posed:
Kal nods soberly to the Asgardian. "Diplomacy is not an easy thing," he agrees then smiles politely and nods in Drake's direction when Thor calls out to him.

He smiles at Hal. "It's the right thing to do," he agrees.

"Should we say hello to our host?" Kal suggests to Thor and heads in that direction. "Mr. Stark," he greets him and offers a hand.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
It is here and now that Jessica makes the realization that NO ONE HERE KNOWS HER. Save for Tony, of course. And she breathes a sigh of relief. Working more easily through the crowd, she smiles charmingly and makes small talk with anyone who speaks to her. The nasty wound on her leg from a wayward squidling is a distant memory, having healed within twelve hours, so there is no sign of the injury, even with her short black dress. She doesn't even know how people manage if they can't heal that way.

She smiles when Tony introduces Drake and applauds lightly, giving Tony a proud smile and a wink.

War Machine has posed:
Rhodes sticks to the back of the crowd not drawing too much attention he's dressed in a long-sleeved midnight blue coat with a midnight blue belt with a gold M-buckle, plain white shirt, midnight blue dress pants, white gloves, and black dress shoes and socks. The symbols on his uniform identify him as a colonel.

Atop his head rests a white barracks cover with the USMC logo embossed into the middle.

On his left chest stand several rows of full-sized medals including the medal of honor, on the right chest several rows of ribbon awards take their pride of place.

His uniform is in exquisite condition but then again that was expected if he was going to be wearing it at all, and what better time to wear it then for the fourth of July. He's dressed up to the nines and doesn't seem to uncomfortable with it as he takes his travel around the gathering.

Less then a foot behind him a well dressed young girl follows, Lila looking about at all the different faces while trying to stick close to the older gentleman not wanting to get lost in the crowd.

"Sorry I'm late, you know how it goes." Spoken out of nowhere as he moves out of the crowd near Tony, after all he's gotten a knack for slinking through a crowded room. He grabs a non-alcoholic drink for himself and one for his tag along clearly not in too bad a mood. "This time of year's always busy."

Thor has posed:
Thor's looking back from the presentation of Drake and he still has a bit of a smile upon his lips. He offers that smile to Superman, but then catches Hal's approach and then the man's words. Eyebrows lift as he affixes his one good eye upon the Lantern and his lips part, "Ah. I met one of your comrades, though she wielded a ring of blue. A kind woman." He gives a nod, "If the rest of you are half as soulful as she then you will be strong allies indeed."
That said he gives a nod in turn towards Superman and lets the man take point as they make their way towards Tony's group.

Iron Man has posed:
"Yeah. ......Good speech," Tony says of Drake's 'hi', after a slightly long pause, taking over to assist the young man. "Snowball behaving?" Tony asks Drake, still loud, this is part of his show. He also questions of the robot, "Slipstream behaving?" Tony asks the robot immediately afterwards, more seriously. The small Snowball robot's response has Tony gasping theatrically and arching both eyebrows. "I won't translate that here," he teases Drake, flashing a teasing look back to Jessica at her wave, and lets go of Drake. "Rhodey," Tony greets quickly, "No worries. You'll need to work to catch me on drinks, particularly at that rate," Tony observes of Rhodey's drink selection. He seemed like he might send a greeting towards Jessica further, a lingering stare there, but distractions come in, in the form of major heroes.
Superman is on the way with Hal and Thor, and Tony has a photo op with that, extending a serious greeting. Tony's 'serious' is a charismatic smile and natural angle of head to keep his injury off-camera from where the photographers are. "Glad you could make it. Some of the display tonight's to honor the alliances here. I won't give it away, though." Tony's all smiles, a man in his element, but his physical injury is also in his eyes, under it.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Taking that as her way out, San Walks her way over to Thor and gives him a hug, whether he wants it or not. "Hey Big Guy. Glad you're doing...semi-okay." She then waves to Superman and even Hal. The wings tend to give away who she is.

Superman has posed:
"I'll look forward to it," Kal says to Stark, giving the man a firm handshake and pausing just that extra second for the cameras then moves aside for Thor and Hal. He gives Jan a warm smile when she waves.

Thor has posed:
As he had been traveling across the distance towards Tony, Thor lifts his hand in the direction of the party's host. "A fine celebration, as always, Stark." He offers with that jovial rumble that is so often summoned easily to hand. He shifts to the side, perhaps allowing for Hal and Superman to make a more elaborate greeting for after all... Tony and Thor already know each other. But just in that moment when he seems like he's about to add something else he finds himself accosted by a tiny Avenger.
"Janet." The Asgardian turns and smirks crookedly meeting her gaze with his own one-eyed one. For a moment he hoists her into the air and smiles, "Let me look at you. Beautiful as ever and just as sprightly." But as quick as she's lifted she's set back down easily enough. "Aye, passingly well though..." His eyes distance towards the French delegate and grimaces, "I fear there are some arenas I am ever at a disadvantage."

Slipstream has posed:
Blushing a bit at the attention, Drake clears his throat. "I ... didn't prepare a speech." He says with a chuckle before he gives Tony a grateful smile. "Thank you Mister Stark." After they part, he heads back down to the floor, heading over to Janet again as he gives her an embarrassed grin. "So that was a thing." He says with a soft laugh.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Nodding to each person in turn, Hal grins, takes another sip of his drink, and says, "Yeah, she is one of a kind Thor, that's for sure. Good to have her as a Lantern, even if it is blue." Hal pauses, and looks over at the host. "Nice party Mr. Stark." Pausing for the photo op, Hal smiles, and as Thor and Superman moves, Hal also steps back, letting them handle the chats and the talks.

With a nod to Janet, Hal moves into the background, preferring to watch, and be prepared. Just in case. Watching as Rhodey arrives, Hal chuckles and gives him a two fingered salute.

As Drake is introduced, Hal nods, and watches the show.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Don't lift me up too high, Thor. I can fly after all." Jan says as she's picked up.....and doesn't seem to mind. "Don't worry about them. Diplomats have their ways...you have yours." Her wings begin to flutter and she stays in the air, at least. But then she flutters over to Superman.....and tilts her head. "Hello Superman." But she's not looking at his face......she's looking at his clothes.....and she shrinks...physically....and starts to poke at his clothes.

Superman has posed:
Kal looks down, politely amused as Jan pokes at him.

"Hello, Ms. van Dyne," he says good-naturedly. He shoots Hal an amused look then raises an eyebrow at Jan.

Iron Man has posed:
Tony flows evenly through the JLA members. "Getting better all the time; the show's barely started," Tony assures Hal with a smile. He finishes that handshake, and then greets Thor as well, and.... the other dignitaries that followed along after them, as if this had now become a greeting line. Maybe it has; after all, Tony just arrived on the scene and will need to spend time with each of the guests as host. He does waggle a hand at some of them, interrupting them in his casual and at-ease way, to come with him, so that he can sit down. He's self-aware: he knows he looks injured, and there's only so long he's going to pretend otherwise. He continues his greetings from what may as well be a throne, now seated, and looking improved already.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
As Jessica makes her way through the throngs of those present, she passes by big names. And bigger names. And then there's Superman. She's never been starstruck in her life. Not until now, anyway. She might have been with Tony Stark, if her attention hadn't been on the pain of hellacious injury, and trying to mask that. With wide, mesmerized green eyes, she begins to speak. Then, there's a tiny fluttering woman poking at him. So much the better...she's terrible when she's on the spot. So rather than even make eye contact, she takes a glass of champagne and moves to Drake, to congratulate him.

War Machine has posed:
"You know normally I'd take that as a challenge, but I've got a presentation in Baghdad after I drop off Lila at the babysitters." He gives a bit of a smirk towards Drake. "You know when I was your age I used to be just as awkward, probably a good bit more, trust me, gets easier as you go prepping speeches on the fly."

He lets out a sigh before hoisting the little girl up onto his shoulders once he notices how uncomfortable she is on ground level. "Didn't want to miss the chance to hop by here and unwind before the Ten Rings briefing." Taking another sip of his glass. "Gotta say though I agree it's one hell of a turnout."

Thor has posed:
Crossing before the line and then taking up a place somewhat to the side of Tony, Thor looks across the flow of the line that is making its way towards Stark as if to pay homage before a ruler. In some ways it's fitting, in others not so much. Though the Asgardian presents himself like some stern captain of the arms beside the man whose party this is.
But then, at a suitably timely moment, he'll lean down and murmur sidelong to the futurist. "This may have been a mistake, Stark." His voice is a low rumble, but then it's clear his line of sight is upon those diplomats that had come to mingle with the mighty.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet van Dyne says, "Just call me Jan, Superman." She says as she pokes around his suit....and even tugs at his cape. "At least it forms to you pretty well." She then tugs on it. "AH HA!" She says letting it snap back. "I was looking to see if you had padding...and you don't." And she flies in front of Superman and grows back to 4 feet tall. "Thank you for tolerating me, Superman. I rarely get to see too many up close. Like you.""

Iron Man has posed:
Since Thor clearly can't mean Tony's party is the mistake, he must mean something else. Tony finishes with greeting those directly in front of him, and orients curiously up and aside to Thor. "What did they say?" Tony asks, critically, in a tone that also silently says 'I'll handle it'. He finishes his drink, but there's alertness still from the billionaire: he isn't drunk yet, at least.

Superman has posed:
"You're not the first person to tug on my cape, Jan. But they're usually about 5 years old," he jokes with a smile. "I'm glad to meet you finally. I've been following your work, the Avengers are lucky to have you."

Kal notices two more avengers standing nearby and moves to them next, offering his hand Drake and Jessica. "Well done at Central Park, Mr. Winters. Those firefighters wouldn't have lasted long without you and Ms. Romanova.," he says with a smile. He seems oblivious to the cameras, as if having a personal moment with the two. He smiles at Jessica. "Ms. Drew, I heard about what you did at the Ballard Cemetery, and have followed your work in other places. Thank you for what you do."

Thor has posed:
Strong arms are folded over the tall man's chest as he scowled a little absently as his one good eye focused upon the distance. Clearly he was casting a bad image in some ways for Tony's soiree since he wasn't seemingly having fun, nor did he have a drink in his hand. But he has cut a fine silhouette in the black suit with the red tie. "They made small of me, and light of the plight of those upon the Mercy." His jaw tenses.
Then he scowls, "Bah, listen to me. I grouse like my brother did each time he'd flee from a rightful trouncing." Well, rightful in his eyes. "I shall handle it, Stark."
Then he smirks a little sidelong and says, "Though, in truth, your party is... acceptable." Faint praise, though far from damnation.

Slipstream has posed:
Reaching out to take his hand, Drake shakes it back, eyes widening. "Wow. Thank you so much, Superman. It's like a huge honor to hear that from you. To be honest, I just follow Mister Stark's instructions you know? It was his gameplan. He should get all the credit. I just do what I'm told, yeah?" He holds out his drink with his free hand to his shoulder, where Snowball makes a whirling noise and clinks in a pair of ice cubes from her freeze gun. "Thanks SB." He says with a grin back to his robot companion before he gives another look back to the world's most recognized superhero. "Can I get a selfie with you?"

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica can't breathe. She can't feel her legs. Does she have legs? Maybe. She's staying upright somehow, anyway. "I've...followed you, too." Who hasn't? Great comeback, Jess. "Not in a stalkers kind of way, though. Just...y'know, your accomplishments. You're the most..." Handsome? Daring? Powerful? "The most...." She repeats, gesturing vaguely to Superman. "The most."

GOD she's terrible on the spot...

Iron Man has posed:
"Handle it? I have no doubt, Thor." Although Tony can picture the diplomats not responding well to a hammer thrown at them, it might be fun to see. "---You did ask for my input on it. I'm /always/ here to give my opinions," Tony teases, and flicks his eyes meaningfully back to the dignitaries that are on their way up to him, and accepts their praise of his party. "I'm glad I could get you in the same room with our Asgardian here. He has a dedicated group that is assisting to remove the fungal menace. If you've any need, I'm sure we can look into it with priority," Tony says smoothly to the dignitaries, relaxed on his couch/throne. "We're all together against this."

Superman has posed:
Kal does not seem to notice Jessica's stumbles or that she had said anything, or nothing, odd. "Thank you," he says with a smile then nods to Drake. He moves around so he is standing between Drake and Jessica and puts an arm around both their shoulders for the photograph. While he does he looks over the reporters heads to try and make eye contact with James, giving him a respectful nod if he does.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet van Dyne says, "Thank you Superman, but most of what I do is fashion. It's why I looked at your suit." She then chuckles a bit. "Nice suit though. Almost as good as my own." And she winks at Superman."

Thor has posed:
As Tony comments, Thor might well be about to counter with his own conversational gambit. But that grape dies on the vine as the other dignitaries make their approach. At their glances he goes so far as to not along with Stark's words, then at the last he offers in support of the point, "Our warriors have sworn their blades in service to Migard in facing this threat. Together we shall be victorious as I was over the great creature in orbit."
A deep breath is taken then, if only to fuel to firmness of the Thunderer's dour nod.

Slipstream has posed:
Giving an amused grin at the girl's antics, Drake glances over at Superman for a moment, then slips out his wide screen phone. He draws a pattern along the screen to open it with his finger, which is really just the Overwatch symbol, then holds it out as Snowball detaches from his back and flies around with a digital putter. She reaches out with one of her hooked hands that slips out of her shell to grasp the phone, then holds it up to them as he gives a bright smile as he leans in against Superman, holding up a pair of fingers in a V sign. The little robot takes a couple of shots of the three of them together. "Thanks so much. My buddy Zapp who is my roommate is going to lose his mind when he sees it. He's a huge fan of yours." He says as he reaches for the phone again from his companion as she floats back to mount once more on backpack. "Thanks Snowy."

Iron Man has posed:
"Victorious, yep; we wiped them out there, and continue to do so," Tony agrees. One of the group, from Mexico, brings up something to Thor, primarily: "Would your group be able to take care of our invader next? It is threatening our capitol." Tony leaves that answer to Thor, arching a brow up and back to the Thunderer behind him. The other foreign dignitaries watch Thor as well.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica recovers her wits as Superman smiles, and she's a little more at ease. "Guess I never realized I'd be meeting you in person, or I'd have prepared something more eloquent. I'll work on it," she says with a laugh. "It really -is- an honor to meet you, though. I can't do what you do. But if we all do what we can--" then suddenly Jessica seems distracted by snippets of a conversation between Thor, Tony, and the dignitaries. "Our capitol?" She fairly breathes the words and looks then to Drake, and then to Superman, green eyes wide again.

Thor has posed:
Earth has so many nations. It can become so difficult to keep them all in order. But the Asgardian quirks an eyebrow behind that black strapless eyepatch and then murmurs to the man, "It would depend on the overall strategic situation." He says that very sharply, very matter-of-factly as he brings up a hand and grimaces while fiddling with one of the cufflinks that always seems to be coming undone whenever he moves. But he coninues, "Of the swords sworn in the service to Asgard, we have barely twelve score capable of raising hand against these creature. Some have been readied in case of an emergency, others are on site aiding the others they are supporting."
There's a pause then Thor looks back towards Tony, other eyebrow lifting as he considers. "I believe there is one in Peru that threatens a large population center more directly and with a greater threat of loss of life it has our focus for the nonce." He holds up a hand and advances, "But hear me. We have no intention to merely defeat these creatures piece by piece. My comrade, Anthony Stark is even now working upon a mighty solution to the world's ill that shall have these creatures destroyed once and for all!"
He then gestures to the side, "To Victory and Stark!" He offers the cheer as he seizes a glass from a nearby server, drains it... and promptly shatters it on the floor.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet van Dyne raises her glass to Thor. "to the safety of the Asgardians!" Jan say very pointedly. Cuz screw the diplomats.

Superman has posed:
Kal chuckles at Jan's comment about her suit. "Can't compete with you, Jan."

"No problem," Kal assures Drake. He nods in agreement with Jessica until she turns focus to the talk about capitols. "Mexico," Kal says after Jessica, looking more serious. "And it's a big one. Almost as big as the one in Peru." Kal sighs and glances at the balcony then puts his smile back on.

He smiles politely and claps appropriately when Thor cheers Stark, giving Tony a smile and nod.

Iron Man has posed:
Stark laughs and accepts all of the attention with his usual showmanship and hand-waving. He claims a drink from a server (without moving much, such are the serving staff aware of when to linger close to Tony with booze), and drinks to Thor's 'toast'. Clearly nothing Thor announced is off. Once applause dies down, the dignitary does seem somewhat relieved. "Taking away all my good announcements, Thor," Tony 'reprimands' the other Avenger, playful but strong.
"A worldwide answer? Good. Yes. In this way, if you defeat it, we do not have to pay this other 'hero'," the dignitary continues, lowering his voice. "We have been contacted by another man who, how you say it? Is not blackmail. More a job. He say others are not going to do it. To remove or weaponize the stalk for us. He asks for /much./ But you we prefer. If you are not so busy with parties," the man finishes. A little jab, perhaps, but he does seem focused on attaining what he's come here for: attention on his issue, the immense mushroom in his country. Mexico has been 'famous' for having the larger ones, similar to Peru's. The other dignitaries are vigilant but don't add anything.

"I only run parties while my machines continually run solutions and my tech is built," Stark gallantly declares. A small robot comes darting out from a side and begins to quickly sweep up the glass from the cup into a smaller dustbin. It makes a series of chittering, anxious sounds, carefully dusting off a dignitary's shoes of glass bits.

Thor has posed:
Stepping away and to the side, Thor grimaces as he listens to the exchange between Tony and the dignitary of the moment. He shakes his head, perhaps on some level confounded by the mortals inability to work amongst themselves. But he looks around the room to the other party-goers, "A good party Stark," He offers even as he lifts a hand towards Hal and Superman before he nods towards Jan.
"But this one is right to admonish us. At the least for my part. I shall away and see what good can be worked in my time."
That having been said he holds up a hand and then distantly from the coat room there's a short /crack!/ followed by a /crunch!/ and another /CRACK!/ and then there's a /whoooom/ of sound as an umbrella flies through the air and lands in Thor's hand.
"Until next time." He says and turns away starting towards the balcony.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica sighs and nods faintly as Superman explains. "Well I'd been meaning to get down to Mexico sooner than later, but I was hoping to wear a bikini, not a full body suit of inferno," she muses, mostly to herself. "I guess the beaches can wait. This needs to be put to an end, one way or another. Wherever I need to go, I'll be there." She briefly wonders whether there might be a stalk somewhere cooler. Like Greenland. Or maybe she just needs to ventilate her suit.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet van Dyne looks to Jessica and tilts her head. "Suit? If you need a new suit, I could help?"

War Machine has posed:
Rhodes takes a moment looking down towards his glass, or rather where it had been. A few drips of his drink trickle out from the smashed bottom of the cup where an umbrella had flown through it shattering off the base of it. His free hand lifts up a single finger as if about to say something before off goes the God of Thunder on his own.

Rhodes puts on a smile before dumping the once nice glass into a nearby receptacle for trash. It's more just dumping back his hand and letting go of the glass so it tumbles into place.

"Ever think of installing a chute for that thing?" Mentioned quietly as he looks through the rather large hole in the building. "Just for ease of access that is."

Superman has posed:
Kal excuses himself to the Avengers and nods to Hal.

"I should be going, too, Stark. But thank you again for your leadership with these mushrooms," he says and offers another hand shake. Then he makes his way to the balcony to leave.

Iron Man has posed:
"It's just not at the top of the list; there's always something, like /your/ suit," Tony answers Rhodey offhandedly. The bottom of Rhodey's glass fell to the floor, and the little drone immediately streaks over to sweep it up, much as it did the broken parts of Thor's. No floor hazards allowed.

"Obviously I won't tell you what to do, but a guy offering to weaponize alien monsters doesn't sound like Captain Trustworthy," Tony says to the dignitary, who diverts attention from Tony to the other dignitaries, who are asking him about what he just mentioned.
Tony is distracted. He nods an answer to both Thor and Superman. "I.... am going to start up the show. I did automate it, but." Tony doesn't say it, but he wants a minute. Lousy injury, limiting him. He gets up, and only turns a moderate shade of extremely pale, before starting across the room towards a roped-off door.
