Germination: Latveria
Date of Scene: 22 July 2018
Location: Latveria
Synopsis: The Justice League and Avengers respond to the forces of the fungus on Latveria's boarder.
Cast of Characters: Iron Man, Green Lantern (Jordan), Wasp (van Dyne), Wonder Woman, Superman, Storm, Batman
Tinyplot: Germination

Iron Man has posed:
The concentration of fungal invaders in western Latveria has only gotten worse. Their numbers have increased due to failed attempts to remove them, the spores spreading and creating more of the creatures.

When the heroes arrive in their groups and sections, the place appears out of a nightmare. From the air, a massive long vent of destroyed and corrupted ground stretches a half a mile across, and miles long. Over the barren and eaten landscape is a roiling thick white carpet, flecked with the monsters and movement of the squid-like alien creatures. Ever so often, the massive dome of a one of the mushroom like fungal things towers over the landscape, creating huge dark round shadows over the teeming waste. At the edges of the long white frothing scar, minions of the fungus forage, surging against walls and barricades.

There are five truly big mushrooms present, they are evenly spaced along the long rip in the earth. The largest one is the '2nd', from the north: it is larger than a building, and the huge, fat minions that patrol it and hang from under the broad canopy are true giants, each as large as a tank, with thick powerful tentacle limbs. They stay close to it for the most part, diving in amid the frothing white spore-covered ground like nightmarish squid.

The heroes have set up two base points: one in the north, controlled by the JLA, containing their organization equipment and a chunk of the toxin supplies, and one to the west, using the Stark Global Solutions industrial site as the base for the larger footprint of various people that need to land other aircraft or be armed.

The are arms available for those that need them: a variety of 'cold' themed hand to hand weapons, guns, and freeze cannons are available. The Stark site is teeming with employees and robots rushing about and moving some of the larger tech to where it needs to go.

Everyone has probably now seen the initial setup that Superman and Flash have done: there was a small example of the process needed to the east, and the video is shared. The video involves Flash planting toxin, and Superman fighting the squid minions while the toxin had time to work. The mushrooms require the toxin capsules applied just at their base. The mushroom in the video attempted to remove the toxin, and attack the heroes with the minions, and so time must be given for the toxin to work.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Considering he was supposed to be heading to Oa right now, Hal Jordan, Green Lantern, looks non-plussed, and ready to assist the rest of the team here, right now. The emerald green nimbus of energy around his boydy was visible to all present. Floating near Superman and WOnder Woman, Hal waits to see what was going to happen next. "This is a nightmare...I don't even know where to start..." Hal floats there, ready to jump in, at the moment, purely as backup and support.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
At the Stark cite, Janet Van Dyne is actually suiting up. "Hank....I hope this is the right stuff." She says as she slides a 'different' set of stingers onto her forearms. "This should work, Tony." She says into a comm system that's built into an earpiece, in lieu of a helmet. Of course, Wasp has a deployable one, but when she shrinks to about 4 feet, she looks at her stingers and smiles. "At least the adjusted stingers shrank with me, Shell head. Now, all I need is a distraction...or...two." She then chuckles. "you get word to our friends yet?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana was in the Invisible Jet powered by the strange alien tech. Two of her Amazonian sisters are in the flight control seats and Diana is positioned behind and between them, standing there in her shining Eagle Armor. She looks out the forward view ports at the growth of the feared fungal invasion and how it has claimed so much of this land. "A nightmare. Yes." Diana says quietly over the League comm.

The impossible to see Jet soars over the infected area, its alien engines whining loudly in the sky as it flies and surveys the land. Diana, reaches behind her and pulls the cold-tech sword off of her back. "I am ready to slow as much of them down as possible, but we -need- a way to wipe it all out. Or stop it from spreading any further."

Superman has posed:
"It looks bad," Kal agrees with Hal over the comms. "But we have a plan and it will work. The key is to get the toxins in place and defended. The creatures will try to remove the toxin cannisters from the bases of the mushrooms. We can't let that happen, whatever it takes. We'll wait for word from Stark, then do the drop and fight these things back; Remember, you don't have to destroy them, just keep them from getting the cannisters out of the white soup. Once enough of the stalks die, the creatures can't fight. They need the stalks to coordinate. It's a defensive game and time is on our side."

Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe, known on the field as Storm, is hovering high in the air and surveying the chaos before them all. She maintains a higher altitude because of precaution, but it allows her to get a vast view of what they are about to deal with. Accompanying Tony Stark's industrial site on the western side, Storm flies back to the site and lands nearby Janet van Dyne as the woman prepares. "Their movements are concentrated and their army seems focused. This will not be an easy battle," Ororo offers, retrieving a communications unit from a panel. She places it in her ear and settles until it is time to move.

Batman has posed:
Batman flies in with the Batwing, dodging areal defenses with superior piloting. He has a fully armed contingent and is fully prepared to unleash every last missile. But first he is going to coordinate with the others and listens carefully. That tells him a full frontal attack is not merited, but he knows these things too well at this point. By now, they surely have some surprise attack and that is what he is waiting for. A single perfectly targeted missile laced with anti fungal toxin hits a small pile of the creatures, meant to intimidate rather than prohibit.

Iron Man has posed:
"You'll need more than that. The videos show they really get unhappy when toxin is applied to them," Tony answers Janet with an amused tone. He's working on networking up the communications - briefly. Making a web of such things is barely any time.

Tony is then suddenly broadcasting onto the channels, a wide announcement to all of their frequences. "Welcome everyone," Tony says, upbeat and strong, as if he were hosting his own personal party and had some exciting new tech to unveil, and a lot of drinks to imbibe. Probably just habit.

"Building on what the JLA have set up, here's the layout. Wasp and Flash are on planting canisters; they shouldn't need any defending from us, and will get in and out where needed. I think we have some folks with electrical blasts: Let's get you firing those off on the west side of the scar and looking tasty, to allow the other teams come 'round to block the minions from returning to defend their mushrooms. Batman, Green Lantern, can you lead those flanking prongs, please? Folks that can't fly, be on that with them."

"If you CAN fly, go after the ones that will try to remove the toxin canisters: stay mobile, these things will come up from nowhere. They hurt, I've had four on my face personally. I'll be coordinating and setting up some repulsor walls to block their reinforcements."

"Let's work from the north down to the south; I don't want that big one to smarten up if we leave it too far to last. We can clean up this whole mess if we're smart and push hard. When your team is ready, Superman, and our tasty energy friends are in place, I'll give the go."

Tony looks behind him to Wasp and Storm. He's already in armor, though his mask is open. He flashes them a confident wink.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Thankfully, I've got a bit of spare poison." Jan says as she actually pockets some of the canisters. "before you ask, I shrunk them so I can carry them. Flash will take care of some of the others, but I needed a defense myself. And becoming Giant Girl wasn't a valid defense." She then looks to Storm. "Storm, right? Call me Jan, or Wasp." She says as she zips up her suit. "If you can ice them over, that'll be extremely handy, but the toxins in my stingers are pretty specialized, since it's tony's toxin." She then looks to Tony. "Ready when you are, Shell Head."

Superman has posed:
Kal listens to Tony's broadcast. "We hear you Stark, the JLA is ready when you are."

Kal floats up above the scar and towards the north where the action will start.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana listens to the communications from the others and then her eyes fall down to her Sisters at the controls of the Jet. "Go into Hover Mode above where we are fighting, follow us southward and stay above us. Use the Jet to be a safety point for anyone who needs out of the fight and swoop down to let them board if they need it." Diana says as she starts to turn toward the aft of the ship. She glances back over her shoulder. "Take down the invisibility cloak. The fungus will not come for this... it has nothing organic to appeal to them." And with that said, Wonder Woman marches toward the aft of the jet and opens the rear boarding ramp, to glide down it and begin to free fall toward the fight.

After Diana departs her jet, the knife-like shaped vessel becomes very visible in the sky... white like a cloud, but still quite visible as it hangs in the air.

Batman has posed:
Batman does just that and moves to the flank, hitting the shroom with a vulcan minicannon specially fitted for this mission with iced bullets at zero degrees. They shoot out like a blue fire from under the wing and into those trying to advance in careful and meticulous short bursts.

Iron Man has posed:
"Batman's toxin," Tony answers Janet, with a sleek little smirk, "If it fails, we know who to scowl at. I'll delegate that to you, though. Your scowl is far more fearsome. Mine just doesn't project well through the helmet," Tony comments, his helmet closing, as he fires up his repulsors and rockets off into the air. He has a few other robot drones with him, making a swirl of energy trails as they follow Iron Man.

Tony jets off to just south of the mushroom they're currently targeting, getting an eyefull of the big one just down the way. "It's not bigger than my tower, at least," Tony's voice says into the comm, while starting to set up his force field array.

"I'm in place. Distractors, blaze it up. My teams are going to set off some pretty fireworks. That's the spot. Once the forces move, Superman, you're on point to defend our cannister people. Here we go."

Fireworks explode in a beautiful array of 22nd of July to the west, energy pumping into the sky. Sonic cracks and booms rattle the grond and air. The creatures at the mushroom immediately orient, converging quickly into an arrow to go after the display. More and more come up out of the frothing ground. Some are hit by the quick darting Bat vehicle, leaving holes in their ranks.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Oh THIS'LL be fun." Jan says before she SHRINKS to an inch tall and flies out towards the biggest shroom. "jeez. I'm surprised a few stoners haven't come out here to say 'cooool. I wonder if this'll get us high'." She's not quite as fast as Tony, or many of the Justice Leagers, but she IS very elusive cuz she is very very tiny. SO she's likely to be VERY unnoticeable because of things punching squidfaces.

Superman has posed:
Kal takes position to the north. He watches and waits for the distraction to take hold, and for Wasp and Flash to start dropping cannisters. He is ready to intervene at the first sign of threat to either one.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Though this landscape looks like some sort of twisted winter wonder land, amongst all the madness of the western edge of it all, there glows the shine of the Lasso of Truth. As Diana had descended she'd swept her flight-guided fall to arch her over the monsters that shamble about the mushroom garden and with a tool to fight them in either hand, Diana Prince is soaring just above their hands, lashing the golden lasso out at one after another, lifting them into the air and slashing them with her 'freeze sword' only to toss them toward an ever growing pile of frozen fungai!

She's apart of the 'distraction group' so its her goal to get as many of the creatures as she can, rounded up and gathered together!

Batman has posed:
Batman continues his work on the shrooms. He is conservative with his ammo but in an aggressive way. "Not my Toxin, Ivy's. I trust her." Of course, he tested it and assumed Tony did to. Tony did test it right? Of course he did, he was a genius. He focused on the task at hand, well awae of the tactical situation but the bullets laden with microcicuts based on the Freeze gun were hideously expensive.

Storm has posed:
Adjusting the ear piece for comfort, Storm looks to Janet and offers her a brief smile. "Yes. It is nice to meet you, Janet, or Wasp, despite the situation handed to us," she replies, a Kenyan accent thick in her tone. "It may get a bit cold. Hopefully, your suit will be able to maintain Artic winds." Given the circumstance, Storm was sure most of them are prepared for a chilling battle - no pun intended - against the alien fungus.

To Tony's smile, Ororo offers a nod of her head. "We are ready, I believe."

The winds surround her frame and lift her with a thought, following behind Tony and his drones with an agility that is experienced. She is the infamous Wind Rider, after all. As the attack on the army below begins, Storm presses forward, darting between missiles from Ironman and Batman. Close enough to bare witness to the fungus below, blue eyes begin to milk over and radiate a white casting glow. Arms outstretched, the weather awaits its Mother's call.

"Heavens fury..." As she speaks, massive clouds begin to form. They grow closer together, darker, and release a thunderous howl throughout the sky. "DELIVER THEM!" Ororo screams, channeling her emotions into the weather above her for multiple lightning bolts to rain down on the area that is supposed to entice the fungus.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Once the Distraction team begins their work, Wasp starts to weave in and out of combat....even nearly getting caught by Wonder Woman's Golden Lasso in one, but she arrives at the base of the mushroom. She takes out one smallsh canister, and presses a button on a top of the device, to make it return to normal size. She then flies away. "Canister 1 in place. Moving to point two."

Iron Man has posed:
For all the look of winter wonderland, it's actually hot and humid in there, thick, the air awful and choking from the sheer number of spore creatures present. It has no scent of decay, though, more of a weird wet quality. Most of the creatures swirling out of the foamy white spore-mush are small, human size or smaller. The ones that were roving are about dog-size. They aren't strong, but there are numbers of them, which can make them pretty horrible. Their general combat tactic is swarming and trying to use their tentacles to rip things into smaller pieces to bring back to feed to the mushroom stalk. This means they do a lot of grabbing and squeezing. However, the limbs that reach for wonder woman are getting slashed OFF; so long as she keeps mobile they are having a hard time getting at her.

The creatures were interested in the fireworks, but the lightning bolts and storm created by Storm herself? That is brilliant bait. They fall over each other trying to get over to where the storm is lashing the ground, but it will be a few minutes for them to get under it. It did pull the big clump off of the north mushroom. There are two big one remaining, the size of cars, which started to head over that way, at the edge of the 'winter' zone.

Janet's delivery whirrs and opens up, starting to pulse toxins out, after a little pause: giving her time to get clear, of course. The fungus there starts to boil and froth almost immediately. And things change. All of the creatures everywhere stop, and start to reverse back. It is like a huge pile of children were just called home for ice cream; even if one was about to sneak up and leap at Wonder Woman? That's forgotten.

Superman has posed:
Kal goes from a standstill to high speed in the blink of an eye, accelerating supersonic speed toward one of the car-sized creatures, aiming to punch right through the center of its mass. Whatever the outcome, he makes the same pass at the second one, then surveys the battlefield. He looks for any of the cannisters under threat.

Batman has posed:
Batman drops a single bomb that is, in fact, a small fuel air bomb, cued to a range that will not kill the othe members of the team but that will hit a lot of the squidbillies. He also fires at the larger creatures, down to fifty percent of the special ammo. He is firing conservatively but there are simply to many of them. The bomb lands and there is a vast sucking of oxygen and then a massive implosion on the ground where it was dropped.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Jan is able to get clear easily, and actually puts a few stinger shots into one incoming tentacle monster as it gets close. She's considerably smaller than the creatures, so she flies in between tentacles to zap. She actually kills one creature before a lot more of them come in and Jan gets clear....before suck-bomb hits.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's round shield was still mounted on her back along with her normal sword, but she wasn't in need of either of those things yet, and in fact her shield was mounted on her back to be added protection against any rear assaults, which was useful in a situation like this where so many white monsterous tentacles were trying to lash their way up at her, some would just slap against the powerful constructed shield and just bounce right off, unable to get traction against the finely crafted metal.

The lasso is swung about Diana's body as she sees the creatures retreating toward their mushroom stalks, and in a bid to stop a large army of them... Wonder Woman swoops over them to get ahead of them, then drops down in front of them... She stares at the army of creatures coming her way, then in one quick motion SLAMS her wrists together to send a thundering shockwave across the gloopy white battlefield and at the horde itself!

As she lowers her wrists down again, gloved fists clenched tightly, Diana looks at the carnage that she and the others are creating... surveying the land again.

Storm has posed:
After attracting the monsters with the weather's lightning bolts, Storm rises higher into the air. She starts concentrating and molding the weather above her with a thought. The dark clouds continue to gather and the temperature around them begins to lower considerably. It takes a few minutes for the ingredients to all form together, but when it does, the recipe allows snow to start falling from the heavens. "Wasp, your wish is coming to light!"

Iron Man has posed:
The mushroom reacts to the problem with decent strategy. Perhaps it can tell that the small ones aren't returning rapidly enough. Under the canopy of the mushroom, new 'fruit' begin to form as the stalk puts resources into making minions.

The two car-sized squidlings are flung by Superman's power: one ends up in a pile with the others rushing to return, the other ends up by itself off to one side. They seem not interested in engaging Superman, but just in getting back to the stalk. Everything is focused on that. Until Diana appears just in front of Superman, and the disorienting blast is created. The bulk of their horde is confused, unable to tell which direction to rush in. They mill around a little bit. Many of them were also caught in Batman's large bomb, as they were so very clustered: the mushroom really is running low on minions. The snow is not helping them, either.

"Ha ha, the mushroom to the south? It's doing a new trick. More updates as I figure it out," Iron man says into his communicator. "Storm, can you put that snow on the south side here?" Tony has set up some long forcefield walls, which are diverting some reinforcements. However, the large mushroom is slowly squatting down.

The main threat to Janet's canister is the 'fruit' above. But as more canisters are added, the mushroom truly begins to suffer, starting a slow collapse. The ground turns from blissful white to a thick and chalky brown mush.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Jan's been putting out canisters as best she can. She has to avoid bombs, flying invisible planes, flying supermen, lightning, snow and even tentacle monster. Worst of all, she has to avoid the tonix coming out of the canisters. If she wasn't the Wasp, she'd be in a bit of a pickle.

By the time Wasp puts down canister three, she's starting to notice a change. "Looks like Batman's poison is actually working. Perhaps having it super concentrated helps too. She says as she blasts a tentacle monster out of the sky....even a second one as well. Of course, they barely know she's there, since she's so tiny, and they've got plenty of heavy hitters.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Hal Jordan has been in the background so far, backing up the heavy hitters with his own brand of squashing. Large green tennis racquets, boxing gloves, and a few choice green "missile" attacks. "Good times." Hal says over the JL comms. "Everyone okay?"

Ensuring that everyone is safe and sound, the emerald blur maintains his distance as "artillery" hitting where he needs to hit, and moving to where he needs to move. All in all, so far so good!

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana shoots back up into the air when the call goes out that the toxins from Poison Ivy are having an effect, she needs to get higher again to find any spots where her brand of attention can be applied. So once back above the stalks, she slows her flight and starts to turn in a full circle to take in the scope of the situation. She looks up toward where the Storm-caller is doing her thing... that is an impressive power that she has not seen ever wielded by an individual that fought on 'their side' so it was a true sight to behold.

Diana looks away then and she starts flying back down toward the thick of it. "Well done, Wasp." She says over the communicators, having never met Janet but knowing some of what she's capable of and its impressive to see in-person as well.

Superman has posed:
Kal makes a rush for the stalks that are starting to drop new minions. He blows frigid cold air onto the squidlings and the undersides of the canopies, trying to freeze them in place and prevent new ones from forming.

Iron Man has posed:
"This second one's popping a squat down here," Tony says into the comms from his south position, with a puzzled tone. "Scratch that. Scans show it is burrowing. Cute. Any thoughts on this? I'm thinking it's hiding. So, two obvious options: we could kill all the surface ones while we have the shot at them to weaken them overall, or hit this one hard before it drops all the way down. If we push both, that'll stretch us thin. I got an idea -- I mean, it's me-- but .... hey, this is your party, JLA, what d'you think?"

The minions in the north mushroom have sorted themselves out and have reached their mushroom. Not that it matters, the thing is a decaying collapse. Some of the 'fruit' get crushed under it all, as Kal froze them, and they hit the ground hard under the weight of the stalk and themselves. As it finally turns into a husk, the minions remaining turn to the south, and start to head to the next nearest site. A few at the edge find the Stark forcefields, and shove on them in the snow, cold and slowed. A few are flung backwards off of it, as the tech channels them into clumps that can be dealt with by Lantern hammers or Bat-bombs.

Iron Man himself is now directing his drones around the edges of the biggest mushroom, keeping them high and out of harm's way while he gets them into position for potential distraction.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"Looks like the Wasp is right. It is having an effect." Hal provides further backup, and hovers near "ground zero"...a very large ground zero. Watching as Diana shoots back up into the air, Hal follows suit, also provides cover. Looking over at the others, Hal whistles when he sees Storm do her thing. "Now that...electric."

Grinning, Hal swoops closer to Superman, just in case he needs him. Far enough outside his freeze breath zone though. "Nice team up Superman. I'd work with the others, any day. Stark has a good team from what I see." Hal nods to the Avengers. "I'm sure Bats has already checked them all out anyway." Hal chuckles over the comms.

Batman has posed:
Batman has checked many of them out but he finds the situation troubling, "Something is wrong. The threat is down below. We have to stop it." He is meticulous in his work but he gets the job done.

Superman has posed:
Kal pauses in his freezing and chuckles at Hal's comment. "They're really impressive," he agrees. "We're lucky to have them with us!"

Kal pulls up short then and re-orients. "Stark, you're our resident genius and fungus expert. If you've got an idea we're all ears!" he calls back over the comms.

"Keep it up everyone, you're doing great. Take your cue from Stark."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Wasp flies up to Superman's level and....actually lands on his shoulder. "Most everything that starts to die off get desparate. So be ready for a hard counterattack." Jan says before she zaps another of the monsters. Of course, Kal will hear her voice twice. The tiny version, and the microphone version. The two are distinctly different.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's blue eyes look over to the Green Lantern and she registers what he says but her mind is on other topics right now. She listens to the words spoken by the other members of this assault team, but her gaze goes to where Iron Man is and thats when she leans forward and shoots over to come up onto his side. She looks over at him in his fancy metal suit, while she's in a contrasting state of dress with her dark hair whipping in the humid winds about her bare shoulders. "Lets enact whatever plan it is you have in your mind, Mister Stark." Diana says over the comms in her Greek accented English. "I have been impressed by your ability to adapt to this threat and I... and the rest of the League, trust your path on this matter." She has the lasso of truth wrapped around her body as well, so she MUST be telling the honest truth!

The Amazonian breaks off from her duo-flight with Iron Man and curves off the to the north and across the field, her hand reaches for the freezing sword, preparing to find more targets to fight off should they come her way.

Iron Man has posed:
"I get to add 'fungus expert' to my list of accolades? Could be worse." Tony's quick with his opinion. As usual. Diana can't see Stark's face due to the helmet, but the smile is in his tone nevertheless when she speaks of trust so ... truthfully. Perhaps he knows what that means.

"All right. I think we /should/ stretch a bit thin; we can take it. We've not taken losses. If we hit the big one with almost everything, I'll bet it'll pull all resources up here. I say we get the canisters on it before it escapes or becomes something more horrible, and hold those spots hard. We can send a small group down to dispose of the other three before they merge. I can take a group south, no problem. You're just gonna have hell on earth up here."

A pause. "We don't have time to debate. It's nearly submerged, whatever it's doing down there. I'm heading south, I'll be the 'group'. Wasp, stick with Superman." Tony instructs to his fellow Avenger. Not on the comms, he says aloud to Diana: "Good luck up here, Wonder Woman - trusting /you/ guys," and jets south over and past the massive squatting fungus, drones in tow, with their cannisters.

The largest of the mushrooms, the now 'squatting' horror, is the size of an apartment complex. It's shorter than it was, and the upper canopy is crawling with minion creatures. It has not sent them out, but brought them in. Like the monster that was in space, it is coated with them, like a defensive living layer or barrier. The ground is similarly stategically covered: there aren't good places for cannisters, at a glance. The stalk is learning.

Superman has posed:
"Got it, Wasp," Kal say to Janet. "And good work on the cannisters. I'll freeze a large area, Hal, if you break the frozen ones Janet can get cannisters in."

Kal swoops in to freeze a big patch of small minions near the big stalk's base.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
Hal returns Diana's look with a nod, a smile, and then a sideways look at Stark as he flies past. "I'm with Diana, and will follow your lead, Stark. I trust Diana, and she seems to trust you." Hal Jordan simply waits for the next steps to come, and brings up the rear as "support" and clean up. Right behind Supes and the Wasp.

"Looks like I can be the tip of the spear..." Hal concentrates and uses his will to create an emerald wall that will protect the heroes charging into the "big one". "Looks like it's time to swing for the fences!" Combining his will, the power of the ring, with Storm's control of the elements should give the heavy hitters a chance to really deal a terrific blow to the, well, mushroom.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Hmm.....I wonder if these things can be rigged to open when they it a surface." Jan says before looking to Kal. "Go ahead, Superman. Just get me close to the fungus' base and I'll plant another Canister. I'm guessing it hasn't noticed me cuz I'm too small to be noticed."

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
"Right Kal!" Hal then turns his attention to the frozen "ones" and starts to hammer them open with a very large, green, drill. "Hopefully that helps Wasp!" Hal says, watching the two sides of the battle. Thankfully he wasn't a bad tactician, allowing him to split his attention, temporarily.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana flies along side the wall that Hal creates with his Lantern ring, she looks over to it while gliding along beside it and then drops down toward the fight below. "We will handle it, Iron Man." She replies to Tony over the comms. Her eyes go up toward where Superman is, and then to where the Batwing was and knowing that her team was here in great force gave her confidence in her declaration just then.

"We have to." She quietly adds then before unraveling the lasso from her body once more and using it much like she had previously to go into the fray and attack the creatures to keep them all busy while Stark does his thing to stop the burrowing behemoth.

Iron Man has posed:
"Oh--- you can also grab those force field generators and shove them in there, by the way. That might make a good second gap, though not for too long; not being recalibrated messes with their duration," Iron Man says while traveling, scanning quickly over the information pouring into his helmet's head's up display. "Oh hi," Tony says, still into the comm, before going quiet. He's got his own fight to do, to keep his drones safe in the south.

The blast of cold freezes a big patch of them, though more of them immediately climb into that section, dogpiling, trying to use their bodies in a suicidal manner just to block the attacks. It looks like they are stalling, in some manner. Which doesn't mean the hammer is less effective: It just means that the opening down into the churning area at the base of the stalk is very, very small, and the gap is very dangerous, as the stuff will happily attempt to digest even tiny Wasps.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
The plan, however, isn't to get close. "Hey Superman. Fly me OVER the mushroom. We'll play dive bomber here." She says as she readies a canister to drop on the mushroom. Provided Superman complies, she'll drop the canister so it shatters on impact with the mushroom.

Superman has posed:
"We have to go for the base!" Kal says back to Janet. "I'll widen that hole, Diana, stun them so they don't fill it again! Then it's all on you Wasp!"

Kal freezes around the edge of the small gap and drops on the frozen squidlings on either side of the gap with his feet to shatter them. He tries to scoop Wasp into his hands and cup them around her to protect against Diana's blast, and if he does, opens them again for her to make what may be one of the more insane flights of her life.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Wasp is cupped in Superman's hands and she blinks a couple of times as she looks through the gaps in his hands. She even pokes her head out of one of the gaps. "hey Uhm....SUperman? You wanna go to luu.....right, we're fighting..." And she ducks back into his hands. Leave it to Jan to try and hit on Superman when they're all in mortal peril.

On a good note, when Superman allows her to see, there's likely a really big gap in the base of the shroom....and she plants not one, but two canisters there. "That should do it." And she goes back to Superman's hands.

Wonder Woman has posed:
At Superman's request, a rumbling appears on the far side of the horde of creatures and with a sudden explosion, Diana luanches up from behind them all with sword and lasso held high she swopps back down and plants herself amongst the fungus, then slams her braces together again to send another kinetic shockwave rolling across the creatures and effectively shambling whatever passes as brains inside of them.

She lowers her bracers back down to her sides then and starts to rush the stunned creatures, looping one after another up with her rope and tossing them away from where Janet is doing her thing! "I have got it!" Diana says over the comms loudly while she 'works' at keeping them back!

Iron Man has posed:
The surface of the mushroom's domed top can be stood on, without it eating her feet, Diana is discovering, fortunately. The ground and soil itself - that will eat anything that comes into contact with it, dead or alive or in-between!

The shock wave sends the creaters flattened, though they are not as dizzy this time: if it is that they are close to the mushroom itself or something else, it may be hard to tell. A large squid creature comes out of a hole in the mushroom's lowering canopy, silent and eerie, a massive one. It moves at Diana, recovering quickly from the force shock. However, the hole is there, and Janet's precious cargo fall inside!

Green Lantern is still working in another area, and will communicate that a hole is ready there, with his giant green vise holding a gap open. The others still present from the Avengers and JLA teams have also moved to help, to get those canisters protected as they are placed, and the air in the spore-filled white zone is foggy with blasts, attacks, flung creatures.

Superman is getting mobbed: a huge volume of the small ones attempt to grab him, slow him, bog him down with sheer numbers and mass.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Jan sets the canisters to detonate and flies back to Superman's shoulder. Superman might get mobbed, but Jan uses her specialized stingers to really hurt the monsters as they come for Superman. "I don't think that Giant Girl would help much here."

Superman has posed:
Kal grits his teeth and starts trying to rise under the weight of the growing mass of squidlings. He uses ice breath and sheer strength to try and battle his way up and clear.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana spins around in time to see that massive 'thing' coming for her and her response is to rush at it! She's not afraid of these combatants, they are lumbering and stupid. She rushes at it and ahead of her her lasso flicks out and snares around the creature's head! She lassos its tightly and rips it down to the ground right in front of her armored boots as she arrives at it and RUNS UP IT to stand on its back!

Diana spins around with her dark locks of hair whipping out behind her with a gust of wind rolling over her from where she stands atop the felled beast and she plunges the freezing tech sword down into the back of its body, then flicks a thumb over the freezing measure, sending out a powerful wave of frozen effect, to chill it to its very core!

Iron Man has posed:
The squidling group all over Superman, though, can't stop the man of steel. He rises with the bundle of them, as they try to pull him to pieces, but only end up showering off of him as he rises.

Diana's massive combatant freezes from the outside in, the tendrils waving as it tries to pitch her into the toxin, but fails, as it collapses from being chilled from within.

The mushroom, with the toxin sites all over it now, has been able to sacrifice some of the minions to retard the expansion of the toxin, but it is fully infected: and it is dying. The stressors show all through the squatting creature as the large canopy collapses into two halves, the stalk slowly tilting and losing cohesion. The whole of it continues to fall, and the minions lose focus. They become easy to fight and finish off, as the thing controlling them can no longer send them orders properly.

However, as it dies, the huge cavern below it starts to show. It had been burrowing deeply, and huge empty husks of strange tuber-like protrusions in the underground area turn to dust, leaving big empty channels in the earth and soil. Had it had much more time, it would have possibly gone deeply, and infected a much larger zone, expanding into that underground area. But they have stopped this one, successfully.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
"Ew." Jan says as she returns to 4 feet tall. "That could've been worse." She then looks to Superman. "Head south and Join Tony. I'll.....get this thing out of the ground." She says as she flies down, amidst the slowing minions....and grows to a rather astonishing 30 feet tall. She then pulls upwards.....slowly....to rip the mushroom out of the ground.....slowly. Unlike hulk, she's not looking to spread spores, she's looking to get this 'infection' out of the earth....

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's freeze sword is pulled from the monster's back and her lasso is yanked from its throat. She drops off of the frozen beast and then wades through the remaining creatuers around her, strike after strike until one final downward thrusting slash leaves a Shroomonster cut into two halves. Diana had lost care for these creatures when she'd heard that they'd already devoured another entire planet, she wanted them off of hers... and she would slay as many of them as she had to ensure it happened.

Diana's freeze sword is slid back into its sheath and the lasso is wound up between her hands... she lifts up into the sky and sees Wasp grow huge to finish up her work, she turns to watch for Kal to make sure he is safe, then she softly exhales. "This could have gone worse." Diana says into the comms. "Well done." She then looks down to the cavern left in the ground.

Superman has posed:
Kal finishes clawing squiddlings off him as he rises, tossing them down to the mess below.

He nods to Janet. "On it," he says. Then he is off at speed to the south to freeze and shatter squiddlings to help Tony.

Iron Man has posed:
As giant Wasp forms, the massive weight of that begins to collapse the emptied underground tunnels. The whole of the side of the scar begins to cave in heavily, as the enormous superheroine lifts what remains of the deteriorating plant up and out of it. Much of it is falling into decayed dust, but she's able to pull the chunk out as the underground sections otherwise cave in behind it. Heroes that were on the ground run and dodge to not fall into the collapsing earth.

South, the fight seems to be at a low roar, as a look down that way reveals that the huge battle with the large mushroom pulled most of the fungal resources, and left the others exposed and ripe for Tony and others that moved to help him. The scar is already turning brown, from the ugly sharp white; how long it will take to heal? Another question entirely.
