No More Sleeping in
Date of Scene: 10 July 2019
Location: The Ark
Synopsis: Sky Lynx gets a rude awakening and the Ark receives a couple visitors.
Cast of Characters: Sky Lynx, Grimlock, Blurr, Windblade

Sky Lynx has posed:
Ah the Ark. Buried in the side of a volcano for so long that everyone inside had been in stasis lock for longer than most species on the planet have existed! In one particular part of the Ark, there's a Very Large transformer that's half buried in the mountain due to the slow crawl of geology taking over the ship. There was a point where someone tried to wake the Lieutenant Commander, but he insisted that others be raised, repaired, and recharged before him. He promptly went back into stasis lock as a result.

The one coming to wake him now will probably insist otherwise.

Grimlock has posed:
There is a sound of moving metal. Of stomping metal. Of metal being pushed aside. Progressively, Grimlock makes his way through the ark and is grumbling the whole way. Once he passes through a doorway, he glares from one direction to another till he spots the big sleeping giant and then he starts toward him, "Dumb liar send Grimlock wrong way. Dumb Sky think weak go first? Dumb ship! Dumb autobots! DUMB!" He declares as he approaches Sky Lynx and then he pulls forth some energon he has on hand. He starts the process to bring the big bot back to the land of conciousness but before Sky Lynx likely even has a chance to fully awaken, Grimlock approaches his front.

Staring for a moment at the face of the big bot, he waits till he spots some level of movement from the bot and then brings back his fist and then sends it forward. The sound is likely a bit dramatic and he didn't put his full strength into it, it still likely works, "Wake up, big bot! Grimlock demands!"

Blurr has posed:
A few megacycles ago while Blurr had been out on the fringes of the galaxy trying to steal mutant Insecticons, he'd picked up on an odd yet familiar signal coming from the Sol system. At first, he hadn't believed it. -That- Ark? It had been long thought lost!

So as soon as he'd managed to get off the primitive rock he'd previously been stranded on and dropped his payload off at hub-command, he'd made a beeline for sector 2814.

Now, the CSS Ark's proximity alerts are going off, alerting whoever might be awake to hear and see it that a ship has entered the Earth's atmosphere and is headed in this direction. If anyone pays any attention to it, they'd see that it is another vessel of Cybertronian design (yes even Grimlock). And that it is trying to hail them.

Sky Lynx has posed:
Well, there's not going to be a lot of response from Sky Lynx at first. Grimlock can stomp down the hallways all he likes, but with Sky Lynx in stasis lock? The dinobot could wake the dead and still not wake the bird... cat.... dragon... griffon...? Whatever.

Energon? The feeling of it rushing through all that circuitry would feel great if he was awake enough for it. The first signs of life that Grimlock would see? The larger bot's optics starting to light back up. There's a shift of his body, his head, and then he's promptly slugged in the face by the dinobot leader.

The clang of metal against metal would ring out through the entire ship, probably, but Sky Lynx just responds with a groggy wince, "What the blazes just hit me?" he mutters as his optics work on focusing on the blob of grey and yellow in front of him. "Is everyone else up?" he asks to whomever is there... until he realizes who it is that's there. "....Oh. It's -you-," the larger bot growls as all that energon keeps flowing into the rest of him. "... And who let me get half buried in this blasted mountain?!" Aaaaaand there's commander modesty.

Grimlock has posed:
"Grimlock hit you!" He states and then points, "And you let you." He then glares at the beeping and starts over to it before he looks at it, reading the readings and then looking back, "Wake up! No more sleep!" He is then looking back at screen. He pokes at it a moment before answering the hail, "Grimlock here." He says into the comm and then he looks at the screen again, "Speak!"

Blurr has posed:
When Grimlock answers the call, a voice comes over the comms. << Blurr to Ark-32, come in. Blurr to Ark-32, come in. >> is repeating until the Dynobot cuts it off.

Then, << ...Grimlock? >> That sounded familiar.
<< Holy slag. Who else is alive down there with you? Anyone? >>
<< --thought you all were dead. >>

Sky Lynx has posed:
"I KNOW YOU HIT ME!" Sky Lynx barks back as he starts to pull himself up. He may be buried in half the mountain, but he's going to be able to pull himself out pretty easily. The floor will suffer for it, however, as his claws curl in for traction. "I'd rather you don't hit me next time!" he growls out next before realizing there was more going on than just the exchange between the two of them. "How long have I been out?" comes next, which Blurr may over hear on comms. "Eh? Who's on comms? ... We are most certainly NOT DEAD!"

Grimlock has posed:
"Grimlock awake, others awake, too." He states and nods as if that can be seen. He then looks back and points at Sky Lynx, "Grimlock know you sleep too much!" He nods his head again and then looks back to the comms. He considers and then states, "Grimlock been here long." He nods his head and states it to both the comm and to Sky Lynx, "Lots of time. Stuck. Come to here!" He nods again.

Blurr has posed:
<< Uh, yeah. I -know- that. It's been--never mind, not relevant. It's been a LONG time. Why are you talking like that, anyway? I thought they fixed you. Weren't you with the Vanguard, back in the day or was that someone else? >> Blurr responds with a flurry of questions and statements that may or may not have that much to do with each other. << Wait, is that Sky Lynx? Holy fragging Primus. >> Wait until the rest of command hears this!

Outside, the ship in question lands near the mountainside, the landing gear crunching into the terrain causing the Ark to vibrate slightly.

Sky Lynx has posed:
The bigger bot pauses, stares at Grimlock, then grunts, "Why do I bother asking you anything?" he laments before turning to look at the comms. "HOW LONG?!" Inquiring minds want to know, blast it! As for Blurr going at top speed, well, Sky would answer at least a few questions before getting to - "Of course it is! I haven't gone anywhere! It turns out I've been buried under a mountain for Primus knows how long and no one bothered to even come looking! Pah!"

A bit irritated, Lynx gives himself a hard yank and the rest of his frame comes free with a whole lot of rock, ground, and other bits crumbling down afterward. Something Blurr may hear on top of everything else. "MUCH better.." he rumbles out before starting to roam the halls toward the entrance. He doesn't need Teletran 1 to tell him someone is outside. "Honestly, why are you just standing there?!" he barks over at Grimlock as he goes. Higher rank? Feh. In his dreams.

Grimlock has posed:
A look over at the comms and Grimlock simply acknowledges that things are happening. He then looks back at Sky Lynx and just stares at him as he comes forward till he is free, and walks right up to him, points and states, "No whining." And then he starts toward the exit. ONce outside, he looks to Blurr's ship and then waves his hand before saying, "Grimlock here. You here." He points in front of him and then nods his head.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr disembarks from his own ship and stares at the entrance to the buried Ark, where Grimlock and Lynx are now standing. Incredible...they really were just--there, alive and well. And apparently had been here this entire time.

"Uh, well--" He seems a bit reluctant to answer Sky Lynx's question, but finally gives in. "It's been about fifty thousand vorns, since the Ark-32 disappeared into Sector 2814, quadrant LV-1151, about 12 parsecs from here, and was never heard from again and therefore was presumed lost and its crew dead."

He peers at Grimlock. "You sound like you need to see Ring. I mean--Wing. No, what was his name? Whatever, the little brown psychiatrist guy with with a weird face."

Sky Lynx has posed:
"Whose whining?!" protests Sky Lynx as he marches for the exit. Why couldn't someone else, ANYONE else, wake him up? Ugh. "Besides you're the one that decided to punch me in the noggin. That felt -wonderful- to wake up to," sarcasm? Yes. Dripping.

Once outside, it takes a moment, but Blurr registers as familiar after a moment. "Blurr, of course! I should have recognized those high-speed inquiries sooner!" Pause. Stare. Wait. What?! "How long?! And EVERYONE thought we were dead?! Who in blazes runs everything now?!" Someone wants blood, or oil in this case. At least being outside feels invigorating. That'll happen when you've been cooped up for -that damn long-.

Grimlock has posed:
A look over at Blurr and Grimlock stares. He then finally yells, "Grimlock not care about voice!" He then points at Blurr, "Others awake. Here. Need fix things." He points at ship and nods and then looks to Sky Lynx. Grimlock turns to him and then states, "You sleep longest. You get punched." He nods his head before looking back up and considering, "World primitive but has energon."

Blurr has posed:
Blurr shrugs at Lynx's question. "Command." Well, duh. "Honestly I've been running around the galaxy for a while. I get orders, I carry them out. Doesn't matter exactly who wrote them." He shrugs. "Maybe Ultra Magnus." A chuckle at the late recognition. "Oh, don't feel too bad--after all you have been in stasis lock for fifty thousand vorns, not surprised you're a bit slow on the uptake. Really I thought you'd be dead so you're doing pretty slagging good."

He arches a brow at Grimlock. "Look, I'm intel. That's Operations' job." he says, with regard to fixing the ship. "Energon, hm." he frowns, peering at some scans. "I've seen planets like this one before...might be worth doing some digging."

Sky Lynx has posed:
"I will have you know they tried to wake me up earlier, I told them to take care of everyone else first due to my energon requirements! I'd rather have a crew up and in good condition before dealing with my needs, Grimlock! I did not need to be slugged for my generosity!" Sky argues. Get used to this Blurr, these two will probably argue. A lot.

After that verbal stab, Sky's optics turn back toward Blurr. "He's not -wrong-, though. The Ark is in dire need of repairs. It is also possible there are OTHER SURVIVORS buried in the rubble. I wonder if Grimlock here would introduce Optimus Prime to his fist should he not be awake yet!" Back to Blurr again. "Yes yes, ops intel, different divisions, blah blah blah. I'm sure someone will try to get a hold of comm-" Magnus? Really. Ugh. The last thing they need is him showing up with all his rules and the control rod up his skidplate. "I suppose we will have to take what we can get. If we can harvest some energon here, that will be ideal. Is there a dominant native race, Blurr?" No. He's not asking Grimlock. He's reached his quota of 'answers' from the dinobot.

Grimlock has posed:
A look at Blurr and he growls, "Grimlock care not! Ark need fix!" He then looks back to Sky Lynx and points at him, "Stupid! Strong first, weak last. Always!" He then looks back at teh ship and stomps back toward it, "Find Optimus? Pfft! No need Optimus. Grimlock king."

Blurr has posed:
"Uh." Blurr shrugs again at the question about a native race. "I don't know, I've never really been to this planet before, but I did notice they had probes in orbit. Mostly fairly primitive, but it's something. And with this geological composition, it's probably organics if I had to hazard a guess."

He also shrugs at Grimlock. "Well sorry bud, but I don't do fixing. I spy, I run, I race, fight, hack some, even. But I'm no engineer. Wasn't Wheeljack on this ship? Maybe he's still alive, too."

Sky Lynx has posed:
There's a long, sloooow headturn toward Grimlock. Not about the Ark, not about weak last, but the bit about Optimus -really- grinds his gears the wrong way. "You are not, and -never- will be King, Grimlock. I'll find him -myself- if I have to." There was a bit of ribbing earlier, but it seems that actually upset the larger machine.

When he turns to speak to Blurr again, it's a bit more composed and calm, which may be kind of scary considering who is talking. "I'll do some reconnaissance and report back." That said, the machine transforms and rockets off in a surprisingly short amount of time. And honestly? He won't really care what Grimlock's response is. Oh dear.

Grimlock has posed:
A smirk at Sky Lynx and then he shrugs before turning around to face Blurr again and then he waves his hand, "Then spy on planet. Find out who here." He nods his head and then clenches his fist, "Grimlock seen world. Very primitive. Backwards. Has energon. Need energon."

Blurr has posed:
"Oh, you know what? I think I know some people from here. This is where Terrans are from." Blurr finally says, seeming to have remembered something. "Yeah, I met one of those Lantern people who said she was from here. But I actually don't think she's Terran." Then he watches Lynx fly off. "That sounds like a great idea." he says, regarding the recon. Maybe we can find out where to drill for energon. Hmm..." He takes out a datapad. "What are the chances this place has some kind of public planet-wide network? With those probes up there I'd say it's a pretty good one." he mutters mostly to himself.

Windblade has posed:
Windblade didn't follow the Ark when it left a while ago. She was tending to Metroplex, communing with the Titan often. Then she got a distress call across interstellar space. She sighs softly, as she leaves Metroplex to slumber - she managed to tell him that she was going to the Prime.

Getting quickly into the small shuttle that is at her call in case she had to return to Caminus, she travels in the direction of the distress call. It's not the fastest shuttle, but she has enough energon for the shuttle and herself (not that she needs much). She then comes into a geosyncronous orbit over the source of the signal - and identifies the Ark. Sighing in relief, she hails the Ark on a secure Autobot channel, hoping to get a response, before she comes down. Kinda worried about all the strange satellites in orbit...

Grimlock has posed:
"You do that." Grimlock nods to Blurr and then lets out a frustrated noise, "More calls." He walks back toward teh ship and into it. He hits the button for the comms and states, "Me, Grimlock, here." He nods his head and then looks at the screen, "Who this?"

Blurr has posed:
"Score." Blurr says, grinning to himself as he finds out that Earth does indeed have a network, and starts hacking it. "Mmm, yeah you were right about the 'primitive' part. Well I mean I saw it too, but yeah." Then the proximity alert is going off again. "Sounds like someone else is trying to hail you," he says absently. Then he makes a face, and chuckles. "Primus, these Terrans seem to be obsessed with hairy mammalian things."

Windblade has posed:
Windblade sighs in relief. "Grimlock! It's good to hear your voice again. I tracked the Ark's distress signal back to Cybertron - fortunately it was on a seldomly-monitored frequency but Metroplex picked it up and told me. So I came. I'm going to land." She then hesitates. "Oh, right. Forgot to identify myself. This is Windblade in the shuttle Solus' Flame. On my way down - unless it's not safe to land. There is a LOT of artificial satellites up here."

Grimlock has posed:
"Planet primitive. Land. Should not detect. Avoid visual." Then Grimlock walks back out and points at Blurr, "Stop goofing. Find useful info." He nods and then looks back toward where Sky Lynx went and then rolls a shoulder and hurmphs, "Optimus Prime. Bah."

Blurr has posed:
"What do you -think- I'm trying to do, glitch?" Blurr snaps, sounding annoyed. "This thing is flooded with irrelevant slag, mostly entertainment for meatbags." he mutters. He keeps going until he finds a few leads. "Gonna run some recon. Lynx has the aerial part, I'll handle the ground."

Then he transforms, and FWOOSH! Off he goes, a sonic boom cracking some of the rocks around the mountain and maybe causing some rockslides. Hopefully no humans happen to be...in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Windblade has posed:
Windblade nods as she tries to use stealth to evade any primitive radar and lands by the Ark, stretching as she steps out, immediately moving to give Grimlock a hug. "It's been too long, my friend," she states as she pulls back. "Anyone else around?" she asks, as she sees Blurr's dust kicking up, eyebrow raised. "Anyway. What's the situation here?"

Grimlock has posed:
"Finally!" Grimlock hugs back and glares after Blurr a moment before nodding, "Grimlock proper appreciated." He nods and looks a little smug as he looks at Windblade before shaking head, "No others now. Grimlock here." He then points, "Sky Lynx that way." He then points, "Blurr other way." He nods again, "Grimlock King." Another nod and then he walks back toward Ark, "Damaged but fixable." He nods again.

Windblade has posed:
Windblade nods. "Yeah - unfortuatnely fixing starships isn't really in my skillset. I was more in the mental side of things - I can fix a mind, but not this." She then goes inside to look around, having never actually looked inside the Ark.
