History
Jason Lee Scott is the half Native-American son to Samuel Scott, and Beverly Scott a local contractor and home maker who raised Jason to be someone who understood responsibility and selflessness. Lessons that would help him well later on in life.
A resident of Angel Grove, Jason was one of the more popular kids, able to move from clique to clique, neither a nerd, nor a jock, never a bully and willing to stand up to bullies as needed a trait that would get him in trouble later on in life. His parents enrolled Jason in a young kids Karate class which opened him up to a life long love of the martial arts culminating in him getting his first Black-Belt by the time he was 14, it wasn't unusual to see Jason going to one of several Dojo's throughout Angel Grove, learning from the instructors and eventually instructing at those same Dojo's himself.
This was his life, exercise, hang out with friends, study, think about getting a girlfriend, go to martial arts tournaments, lather/rinse/repeat till shortly after his 17th birthday when an earthquake hit Angel Grove and monsters were attacking the city! Moving to help others Jason found himself having to fight off several of the putty-faced monstrosities managing to keep them occupied as the family they were terrorizing ran. Surrounded by them, Jason knew this was his end, but it was a good one having helped others survive. Imagine his surprise when a red aura surrounded him and he found himself transported to an Alien complex a large glowing head calling himself Zor-Don along with his robotic assistant Alpha-5 had summoned him and four other teenagers with the right attitudes to take on the mantle of The Power Rangers.
Personality
Jason is a friendly and outgoing young man who genuinely has the greater good in mind. He is community minded and puts the well being of those who surround him before his own; particularly children.
He takes part in several extra-curricular activities on his own volition, from food-fairs to tree-planting for no other reason than making the world that surrounds him into a better place.
As is part of his nature as a team player, Jason is prone to giving credit where it is due. But beneath his confident and friendly demeanor, Jason has insecurities like everyone else. As well as a competitive streak that can sometimes rear its ugly head. Jason does have something of a temper, and when it manifests it is often cold, such as when he faces enemies like Rita and Goldar.
Abilities
DURABILITY
Prolonged exposure to the Red Tyrannosaurus Power Coin has granted Jason superhuman durability. He can endure blows from the Putty Patrol, and other superhumanly strong beings, with limited effect. Prior to his exposure. the Putties would have easily been able to defeat him. Even without the coin, he retains this enhanced durability, but over time that durability will diminish until he is once again at ordinary human levels.
HEALING
The Red Tyrannosaurus Power Coin grants Jason superhuman healing. Broken bones heal in a matter of hours instead of weeks. Scars do not form from on his skin, and those he had before he gained the coin, have since healed completely. The coin continually heals and augments his physique, keeping him at near perfect levels. Prolonged exposure to the coin has resulted in enhanced healing even in its absence. However, without the coin, he would heal from broken bones in a matter of days, rather than hours. Over time that durability will diminish until he regains the coin, or is once again an ordinary human.
LEADERSHIP
Jason is a natural born leader. Charismatic and Confident, he takes charge of a situation without meaning to and people tend follow his lead without question because of his confidence and fair-mindedness. With few exceptions, Jason tends to listen to those he follows, weighing their advice against the needs of the situation. He usually does not defer to anyone else's leadership though he will do so when the need truly arises. He thinks that Tommy has the right stuff to be as good a leader or (secretly, don't tell him) perhaps even better. At least some day.
STRENGTH
Skills
ATHLETICS
Before gymnastics, before martial arts, Jason was just an athlete. It may have come naturally but he never rested on his natural talent, pushing it to the limits to become better, stronger. He enjoys sports, both solo and competitive, and is at home in the gym as he is on the field, both track and game.
GYMNAST
When Jason was a young boy he wanted to be a stunt man just like his father. Even after his father passed away and he moved back to Angel Grove Jason continued his gymnastic and acrobatic training. Today, after spending years honing and expanding his reflexes and dexterity to the peak that his body would allow, augmented with his martial arts training, Jason is almost an Olympic level gymnast, able to climb and jump and perform complex maneuvers both preplanned as a routine and off the cuff, free running style.
MARTIAL ARTIST
Resources
BLADE BLASTER
As the Red Ranger, Jason wields the standard Ranger sidearm into battle; a Blade Blaster. The Blade Blaster is a small high-tech dagger like weapon that can be converted into a high-powered laser gun.
POWER SWORD
Jason can summon his Power Sword at will. This razor edged weapon can be wielded in either one or both hands and can channel Jason's own energy through the blade; increasing its destructive power.
T-REX POWER COIN
Jason uses the Red Tyrannosaurus Power Coin to morph into the Red Ranger. As the Red Ranger, his strength doubles, from his already enhanced superhuman class 5 strength, to superhuman class 10. His agility, reflexes, and speed are similarly enhanced. It increases his healing as well. Many of these enhancements are discussed in abilities, but exposure to coin grants him a certain level, possession grants him an even greater level. The armour he gains while morphed also protects him, enabling him to survive energy blasts that would kill an ordinary human.
TYRANNOSAURUS DINOZORD
The mightiest of all Dinozords, weighing in at 28 tons and a rising a whopping 7.9 metres tall, the T-Rex Dinozord is a ferocious powerhouse. Likes the other Zords it serves as Earth's last line of defense against gigantic monsters. Using its mighty jaws and tail as weapons it can easily dispatch enemies the size of a battleship and with similar armour. Its eyes function as energy blasters, able to strike from a moderate distance, and it can emit a sonic disruption beam from its mouth (a Roar) so powerful it creates a seismic blast. The Tyrannosaurus Dinozord can also fall back on its tail like a kangaroo and use it to propel itself feet first at enemies and deliver powerful kicks.
Again, like the other Zords, it can operate in relative safety in the rural areas or the wilds but even there its mere presence irrevocably alters the land, leaving a trail of flattened footprints. It is agile enough to operate in a city, but its weight makes that problematic. It is environmentally sealed, allowing it to operate underwater or in space (as long as it has a way to be transported there).
The Tyrannosaurus Dinozord remains underground in its hangar deep beneath Mount Tantalus while not in use, and can be remote-controlled by Jason should he need to pilot the Dinozord in its Battle Mode.
WRIST COMMUNICATOR
Weaknesses
ENEMY
While usually fair and openminded and willing to try and work things out peacefully, Jason harbors a great resentment towards Rita Repulsa and her ilk, and has an intense hatred of Goldar in particular. Jason doesn't see Rita and her minions as human beings, but rather monsters to be eliminated. In battle against them, he fights not only to win, but to ultimately destroy them.
RESPONSIBILITY
Jason feels a great deal of responsibility for his friends and allies and will try to bear the brunt of the responsibility and burden of their actions. And if he ever fails them, or innocents get hurt because of his actions or inactions, he can be tormented with feelings of guilt that can affect his confidence.
SECRET IDENTITY
Jason is a student at Angel Grove High School. He has friends, a life, and thus far, has managed to keep his activates as the Red Ranger a secret so far but he has to go out of his way to guard his identity, coming up with excuses, sometimes farfetched, in order to keep it. If it ever got out, people would treat him differently. They might go after his friends and family.
TEENAGER
Despite his training and being seemingly mature than his actual age, Jason is still a teenage boy. He can be headstrong, competitive and temperamental, sometimes to a fault.
