Ivy hums happily as she studies the mostly-dead saproling in her greenhouse. The new cactus is planted in the middle of her property, welts healing on it. She pulls most of the thorns out and is taking samples to study with some lab equipment she has acquired. She hums softly as she begins to work, using her dormant skills in toxicology.
She even stays up through the night, using UV lights on herself to keep herself alert. She nods as she has come up with something. She cuts a chunk off of the saproling and puts one drop of her new poison on it and it immediately shows sign of withering. To test, she puts a drop on a single blade of grass and it's unaffected. "Perfect. My poison is ready. Now for a vessel to carry it." She goes back to the heroic cactus. "What do you think? The humble cactus saving the world?" she asks it, and it rustles in appreciation.
