Owner Pose
Skye Johnson Yes, sometimes even Skye sets out to enjoy the fresh air.

Except, it was dark out. And it was fairly chilly for April.

But! The hot dog vendor was back! There was nothing better than a hotdog to celebrate spring. (Even if she could still get them over the winter month if she went downtown, or the bigger parks.

This one was a small park. And though it was across from the Trisk, the hotdog vendor closed his cart down on December 1 every year, to be reopened on the first of April the following.

Skye had sent a message to Jacen:

DarkSky: Hey, haven't seen you in a while. Do I smell? Wonder if you still wanted to talk about the Trisk. Meet me for dinner.

Along with the coordinates of the park.
Jacen It takes him a bit to get back to her. When he does he sends a thumbs up and a reply: Just getting off shift. Give me 45 to shower and change. Meet you there.

True to his word, the cowboy arrives at the address in 45 minutes. His hair is still a little wet, but the hat rests there anyway.

Walking up to her he offers,"It's been'a while f'r sure. Been workin' some weird gigs'n some long hours. How've you been?" He looks at the hotdog cart and smiles,"I like a woman whose idea o' dinner involves hot dogs f'r sure."
Skye Johnson Skye grins. "Hey, if this was a first date, it's a damn sight cooler than your hoity-toity restaurant. Anyways, it's not a date." At least she doesn't think so? Good lord it had been so long that she wasn't sure.

"I would recommend the cheese and sauerkraut." She wasn't a pristine hotdog connoisseur by any sketch of the imagination. Now, pizza was a whole different thing altogether. "How have you been, anyways?"
Jacen "Glad we settled that. I w's wonderin'." he replies with a wink about not a date,"This's a lot better'n most restaurants yer right."

He goes to the cart and nods to the attendent,"You heard th' lady. Cheese'n sauerkraut soun's like she makin' sure it ain't a date."

He looks to Skye and shrugs,"Ah'ight I reckon. Been busy at work'n not much time f'r anything else."
Skye Johnson "Ouch? I'm not certain I am offended by that or not." Skye holds up two fingers, saying two of those. "I'm paying."

Waiting for the hotdogs to grill she looks at him, curious. "Don't like company? That's about my side of the story. And I have a job that is secret at the best of times and ultra secret at the worst. Add on it I don't need to see who I'm working against, adds up to I'm heading for crazy cat lady in my future."
Jacen "Not't all. I wasn' objectin' ta th' idea of a date, jus' glad ya settled that part." he explains.

He studies the hotdogs being made and glances,"I mean'f I didn' like y'r company I wouldna answered th' call's it were." he adds,"Nothin' wrong with th' crazy cat lady...well actually that's pertty messed up."
Skye Johnson A chuckle erupts from Skye. "The cats I do have think they own the house. And I didn't want you thinking I was trying to come across desperate like. Actually forgot that. I was in a pretty committed relationship.. jeeze, must be 2 years ago." That surprises her. "I suck at interpersonal relationships."

She takes the hotdogs from the vendor and pays him. "Keep the change." And she shows Jacen the fixings on the side of the vendor.

"What I really called you here was to offer you a quick peek at my work."

She slathers sauerkraut on her hot dog.
Jacen "Cats think they own every damn thing." he replies with a snort,"It's ta be expected really. Stories say they exist half on this side an' half'n Hell."

He nods and admits,"Yeah ain' hadda relationship'n a long time either. Once'n a while might get a spark, but they never wanna stay so whaddya do?"

He watches her fix up her hotdog and then does the same, adding mustard too. Definately not going to be safe to have him breathe around her,"I'd like ta see th' work yeah."
Skye Johnson Skye takes an unladylike bite of her hotdogs, and talks around her mouthful. "See that building over there?" She swallows. "That's the Trisk. Well, the Triskelion. Don't ask me what it's named for. I just work there." She grins.

"Somewhere on the fifth floor.. I think? Is my office. Except I rarely am there. I work in the staff room, or at home. it's simpler to check what the net net is doing late at night. Considering I don't live with someone else, why not work." She shrugs.

Taking another bite she goes through some of the areas, like the gym, the infirmary, and research and development. "The usual sorts of things."
Jacen He takes a bite of his own hot dog and chews it, savoring it for a few moments. Looking at the building he nods,"I w's hopin' ya had all th' answers." he teases mildly.

"Why come ta work when you c'n do't fr'm home? I don' blame ya there." he admits,"There's a lot ta be said f'r bein' able ta afford y'r own place without anyone else livin' in y'r area. Peaceful."

He lets her lead him around, mostly quiet. He does have a few questions, but nothing too probing.
Skye Johnson "I rent. I used to live with my partner - work and relationship. He.. He had some stuff that he was available to share, and he withdrew. Moved out. Yada yada. It's sad, but what can you do? Nothing. He still is a great guy. Dammit, eh?"

Skye gives a sardonic laugh. "I'm number three of his girlfriends who still love him to death. I can't explain it. Anyways, my pay is enough with my current agent level that I stayed in the apartment. It's a multilevel Brownstone. It's pretty cool, all things considered."

Not to mention it is its own hub on the net, making it the perfect place to work from. It doesn't belong with the SHIELD's computers, which means she can do extra things without a trail back to SHIELD.

"Anything you want to know?"
Jacen He nods as she listens to her desciption of events regarding the place. He is interested in the area as they walk,"Sucks when th' ex's likeable." he agrees,"Cain' says I've had too many experiences, but there w's one. I still miss her now'n then. I guess we weren' actually a legit couple, but might's well have been. Never made't official'r nothin', jus' lived t'gether an' did th' things couples did'n stuff."

He scratches the back of his neck and admits,"Turns out she had connection's with gun runners'n d'cided ta ply that trade. It wasn't my thing an' that w's that."

Looking over the place again he laughs softly,"You've shown me 'round a base o' operations ta one o' th' biggest intelligence operations'n th' world an' ya wanna know'f I got questions?" He winks and adds,"What's th' right answer? Which one makes sure I don' end up locked up f'r answerin'?"
Skye Johnson "Ah.. for that answer I would be obliged to lock you up." Skye winks. "There are certain things we can't talk about. Surprise, surprise. Unless you would for SHIELD. And even then it would depend on your clearance level."

Skye shrugs, eating the last of her hotdog.

"Yeah, it sucks. For a while he and I stayed partners. Which was weird. Right now? He's on a special mission that he volunteered for. I hope he comes back more like his former self. At any rate, it's not like I planned on hooking up with him when I did. It kind of surprised me. But seriously, any questions about SHIELD?"
Jacen "Th' best relations ain' planned. They happen I reckon." he replies and winks back,"I will hafta be more careful with m' questions about questions." he muses.

He finishes his hotdog as well. He listens to her talk about the ex again and he nods,"It'd be tricky I reckon. Bein' partners after bein' partner's it were." he suggests.

He thinks for a moment and admits,"I mean I assume ya do computer counter terror'r somethin'. I think SHIELD's got peope everywhere. Most normal folks'd ask how they could join I reckon. I dunno that I'd be terrible useful f'r th' secret agent life."
Skye Johnson "He had been with me through the darkest days of my life. I trusted him. The fact that we weren't sleeping together? Seemed negligible. But, boy do I know what Nat feels." A short laugh escaped Skye.

Listening to Jacen, she shrugs. "You might be surprised. We have our own medical crews, for example. And I know you have powers."
Jacen "Hard ta beat havin' someone that ya trust." he replies,"That worth more. Way more I reckon. You c'n always go ta some local dive'n prolly getta good time'f ya like. Jus' gotta roll those dice."

There is a nod and he tells her,"I'm a medic yeah. I have powers too. Don' make me 'qipped ta be parta some super secret agent crew. I ain' sayin' no, jus' sayin' I dunno if I'd be able ta hold up my end's it were."
Skye Johnson Skye grins. "You never know unless you try. And I am not the person who gives you the ok."

She sighs quietly. "I was the type who had men for an evening. Unless you count the one before Clint. Even then he wasn't really in a relationship with me, we used one another to scratch our itches so to speak. Clint was an honest to goodness surprise. And now? I don't know. Back to the old days of slam bam there's the door, don't let it catch on the way out? I don't know. It seems hard."
Jacen "I dunno where I'd go ta meet someone who does give th' OK either." he replies,"I'm sure you do, but then y'r puttin' y'rself out there by showin' me th' way in. Y'all up f'r that?"

He nods and throws away his trash in the nearest can,"Even that's gonna grow stale after a while. I mean it ain't, but it is. Hard ta beat th' first time, but th' first over'n over plays with y'r head too. I dunno."
Skye Johnson "Like I say, it's too hard. I mean a relationship is harder but has things that make it worthwhile." And for Skye to be saying that is big. "However, if you tried out and made it? Sure, I wouldn't be put out to train you. Although, there are better people in the organization to do that. Really."
Jacen "Yeah. I reckon it would be too hard." he agrees,"As f'r th' other. I reckon th' worst they c'n say's I don' make th' cut. They ain' gonna tell me nothin' b'fore I pass th' test. Where would I go ta sign up?"

He sounds like he is at least thinking about it,"Worry 'bout th' rest after that I reckon."
Skye Johnson "Can't hurt!" Skye winks at him. "And you can always say no. It's a two way street. And it you don't have any more questions? I should head back. The life of a desk jockey."

As if!
Jacen "Point me'n th' right d'rection so I know where ta go ta try ta sign up'f I want." he replies. A nod for her as she prepares to leave,"Ah'ight. Well have fun'n thanks f'r lunch'n a tour." he offers and prepares to go on his way too.
