It's a contract Peter negotiated personally... and now, he wants a /break/. Having left the Guardians remaining on the Starskimmer, Peter had taken the shuttle to head to the Titans Tower on Earth... when the fugging thing broke down on him. Now, instead of spending a weekend with Kori, he's fixing engines Rocket should have managed already... and sends a quick comm burst to Kori's relay to let him know he'd be delayed... nearby the Brood invasion corridor. Yeah, that's gonna end well.

Suddenly it gives you a sensor lock, and drops out of hyperspace, and the HMSS Starfire moves into range. "Starfire to shuttle, do you need assistance?" comes a familiar voice. Then... the voice trails off. "Wait - is that the Milano's shuttle?"

There's a crash of something or other on his side, before he continues, "Just having some engine trouble. Were you /worried/ about me?" His voice sounds almost teasing.. but has a seriousness to it. 

:'''{{#var:24|Koriand'r (24)}} has posed:''' Koriand'r nods. "Of course I am. The Brood are no laughing matter. I'm going to pull you in. K'tten will help with your engine repair. She's the best engineer I know - well, that's not covered in fur." The Starfire moves to pull your shuttle into the shuttlebay, and Kory is waiting as the shuttlebay repressurizes, and runs towards the shuttle.

With a cocky twirl, Peter opens and exits the shuttle hatch, landing on his feet with a swagger and a grin as Kori comes to him, "Hello there sweetheart, I'm sorry I haven't been back to Earth for a while. We had a contract to scout Shi'ar space and got a bit more than we thought. Brood like their ambushes." As she runs forward, Peter offers his arms for a hug and readies to catch her flying into his arms. He's still wearing that same old Malcolm Reynolds cowboy getup, the longcoat hanging his element guns and Jetboots.

It's not that big a deal, but it was a bit of busywork trial and error. My kit was all bent from the attack." Then, he looks to Kori and nods, "I got a team together and invaded a cruiser to get Lar out. It was a near thing, but we got hundreds of drones. Then the Shi'ar came in and tore the ship apart as we left. They're being check right now. I was actually taking a break before we got deep into that contract. We're going to be busy fighting the Brood with the Imperial Fleet for a while."

I shouldn't be out in open space for too much longer, but I didn't anticipate a Brood attack - I summoned the Starfire as soon as I heard about it and came quickly. Is the Milano okay?" she asks as she just rests against Peter, glancing as K'tten enters the shuttle to begin repairs.

I wanted to spend a few days with you. Got any place you'd like to go, sweetheart?"

"I could show you around the Starfire.... though I'll have to turn down the UV lights in my quarters - it'd a bit much for a human - you'd get sunburn from it." She smiles. "The corridors aren't too bad, but individual quarters can be rather extreme."
