|Poses=:'''{{#var:106|Deadpool (106)}} has posed:'''
A man stepped out of a yellow taxi and paid the driver with a nod, keeping his usual grin in check, instead opting for a stolid demeanor. The driver didn't look back; probably glad to be rid of him. As the door to the apartment building swung open, a frail old woman came out of the building. The man, dressed in the full ceremonial uniform of the Canadian Army, scarlet tunic, midnight blue trousers with a thin red stripe, white piping and Austrian knot cuffs, held the door open for her with a polite bow.

She smiled and he slipped in behind her, using the moment to bypass the security code on the door.

Inside, the building smelled like cinnamon and freshly cleaned carpet. No elevator for him. The officer started the climb up the eight flights of stairs, his polished boots clicking on each step, methodical and slow. He didn't rush, he had all the time in the world. With each step, the weight of his uniform made his shoulders stiffen.

At the top, he exited the stairwell, his boots still echoing down the hallway. He couldn't help but admire the sharp edges of the scarlet tunic in the reflection of a mirror on the wall. He walked past a row of closed doors, ignoring the muffled sounds of people behind them. The door at the end was the one he needed. No hesitation.

He knocked once firmly.

The door opened. Deadpool stood there, still, waiting.

It wasn't much of a dramatic entrance. Just a guy in a uniform, standing in a hallway, except that this guy, was none other than Specialist Wade Wilson, formerly of the Canadian Army's Joint Task Force 2, which is comparable to the American SEAL Team Six and British Special Air Service.

:'''{{#var:93|Natasha Romanoff (93)}} has posed:'''
The sound at the door had Natasha glancing over from her workout. She was in one of the backrooms which had been turned into a personal gym. Another bedroom was a dance studio, to be fair. Not that most people would ever know that. She was dressed in a pair of gray sweat pants and a simple white tank top. Her feet were in a pair of simple ballet style slippers Though not actual ballet slippers, which she also owned, just a pair of simple slip on shoes. She moved to the screen setup on the wall. There she tapped into the camera and saw the vision that was Wade Wilson in a very different outfit than she was used to seeing. Though it was mostly red and blak so he kept it almost on theme.

"C'mon, your Daddy's home." And with that Dogpool jumped off the nearby weightbench. She was currently wearing her Dogpool outfit, because it just seemed right. Also she was being dressed because with her patchy fur, Natasha feared she'd get cold. It was nothing more than that. Really. Pinky swear.

She moved to the front door and opened it, looking him over then following up with the only possible question to ask. "Do I want to know if the person that you got that uniform off is still alive?"

Mary Puppins immediately was leaping for her Papa.

:'''{{#var:106|Deadpool (106)}} has posed:'''
As Wade Wilson stood in front of the door, Natasha's question hit him, and without missing a beat, he moved in close, wrapping his arms around her with practiced ease, and for a moment, he was sure he had her right where he wanted. It was the kind of dramatic embrace that would make any rom-com jealous.

His uniform felt a bit stiff, but the action was smooth enough. He grinned as he pulled her in, feeling the warmth of her against him, her proximity making everything else fade into the background.

But just as he was about to lean in with a smug, satisfied look, Mary Puppins leapt into the scene, her furry little body launching itself into the air.

The dog landed herself perfectly between them, paws hitting him with an unspoken sense of purpose. Wade's arms stayed around Natasha, but he kept the little furball in an unintentional trio of sorts.

Mary Puppins wasted no time, licking Wade's face with unrestrained enthusiasm before moving on to Natasha, as if to share the love equally. Wade grinned, the whole moment absurdly perfect in its own way. He twirled around with the dog in his arms, a half-hearted laugh escaping him as he moved, still holding Natasha close.

As he finished the twirl, he glanced down at the two of them, then back up at Natasha, his grin widening. "Many have tried, none have succeeded," he said, before adding, "this was my old ceremonial uniform back in my Cloak and Dagger days."

He gave her a look, "the special forces unit, not the biracial couple."

And for a second, with Mary Puppins nestled comfortably between them, everything felt just right, stiff... uniform and all.

:'''{{#var:93|Natasha Romanoff (93)}} has posed:'''
Natasha didn't resist the hug, thinking nothing of it really. Wade was a man who lived on impulse, something she could recognize. She wasn't even sure if his thoughts ran down straight lines or if it was more like spaghetti in there and they just jumped randomly to a new strand. That seemed most likely with him, the way he spoke. Certainly he could be serious at times but he preferred his rambling ways better. Probably was more fun on a lot of levels and she had to admit it made him not boring as he wasn't always predictable.

Once the trio hug and spinning twirls were done, she did take a step back as she eyed him. "So the answer is yes. Good." Because she had really hoped he didn't steal someone's uniform. They'd have a lot of explaining to do, if he just took it and had left them alive. Which yes, she would prefer they were alive if it had belonged to someone else!

"And what brings it out of mothballs since it doesn't really blend in with the average crowd?"

:'''{{#var:106|Deadpool (106)}} has posed:'''
When the spinning was done, Natasha took a step back. Her eyes were sharp, cutting through Wade. Her tone was as steady as ever. She always had a way of keeping him grounded, even when he wanted to float off the deep end.

He glanced down at Mary Puppins, who was still basking in the attention, and then back at Natasha. His expression softened. He moved his hand down to pet the dog once more, but it was a moment for him to clear his throat and think.

The uniform might have seemed out of place, but the truth was, he had no reason to wear it. Sometimes you don't need a reason.

The smile that returned wasn't the cocky, over-the-top grin he often threw around. No, this one was calmer; maybe even a little vulnerable, but only for a second.

"Well," he began, lowering down onto one knee, his boot clicking on the floor. He looked up at Natasha, his eyes catching hers. For a moment, there was no teasing, no jabs; just the weight of the moment.

The way he was sitting there on one knee in the hallway, with his uniform pressed to perfection, probably would've looked insane to anyone who didn't know him. But Wade wasn't concerned with looking sane.

"So," he said, voice light but with that steady undertone, "will you go out with me again?"

The silence after the question hung in the air, and all that mattered was the answer.

:'''{{#var:93|Natasha Romanoff (93)}} has posed:'''
Cue confusion. As he started to kneel, Natasha had no idea what might be coming. A proposal might not even be out of the question with the way his brain worked. Hell, he might think they were still dating at any given moment she suspected. Though he hadn't given any such indications.

But when those words came out of his mouth, the surprise was apparent on her face. Followed by a moment of sadness. Not because of what she was about to say. But because she knew it likely would hurt his feelings in this moment. Not to mention the sadness was there as she hadn't heard from Alexander for months and that was brought to the forefront of her thoughts. She tried to avoid those thoughts, burying herself in work and exercise most days. It had been a rare moment when he'd found her on the couch when he dropped off Dogpool for her to pet sit.

"Wade, I'm sorry but you know I'm in a relationship with someone else. I can't go out with you."

:'''{{#var:106|Deadpool (106)}} has posed:'''
Wade's heart gave a little twinge, but he didn't let it show. It wasn't the first time he'd gotten a rejection, and it probably wouldn't be the last. There was a certain grace to it, though, that Natasha had, even when she wasn't trying. She made it clear without being mean, and that stung just enough to make him feel it without letting it eat him alive.

He rose to his feet slowly; pushing the weight of his knee into the floor like it was nothing. The weight of the silence hung in the hallway, but Wade had never been one to stay quiet for long. A grin spread across his face, just a little crooked, and a little bittersweet.

He straightened up, adjusted the buttons on his uniform for effect, and then, with his hands resting at his sides, he put on a serious face.

"You know," he began, with the most sincere voice he could muster, "I'll always love you. Always. And maybe, just maybe, someday soon, we'll realize that we were meant for each other. But not today. No, not today..."

His grin pulled wider, and he tapped his temple with his finger as if some grand realization had just hit him.

"Yeah, that's it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday soon."

Wade looked over at Natasha, who was probably used to his antics by now.

He wasn't upset. No, he was fine. And he turned to walk off, humming raindrops keep falling on my head.
