Cast of Characters: Mon-El, Zero-G

Mon-El has posed:
A few members of the Legion have gathered at Big Belly Burger tonight for a casual meal in celebration of Drake and Alex's official induction. Lar had handled getting a table and everything, so he had gotten there a bit early, and awaits the rest of the party!

Zero-G has posed:
Alex is the first one to arrive, on the dot. He's punctual like that. "Hi, Lar!" He says, with a bit of wave and a friendly smile. He glances at the table, then back to the alien. "Did you order yet?" Alex is already digging through the pockets of his jeans for his wallet. He's also wearing a plain grey knit jumper.

Mon-El has posed:
"Nope, I wouldn't know what to order. After all no one knows what you like better than you." Lar replies, winking. "Besides, uh...I have to admit I don't know Terran cuisine as well as I'd like to." he says, picking up the menu and squinting at it somewhat.

"So Alex, tell me--what made you want to join us? Just curious."

Zero-G has posed:
"Come on, Big Belly Burger is home to Earth's finest, gourmet cuisine," Alex offers helpfully, stepping into the line. "Honestly, the food here is pretty good, if you're into fast food stuff. Do they have fast food in the future?" His eyes squint. "I'm guessing not. That's okay, you just try on of their burgers. Good place to start. Sodas are, like, fizzy carbonated beverages. They're okay, too sugary for me and bad for your teeth."

He takes a breath, and looks at Lar. "Oh, heh. It's actually kinda embarrassing," He shakes his head, and continues, "Drake and I were fighting off these ninjas or whatever - apparently, he does that a lot - and I really sucked. I endangered Drake's life and potentially the life of a few others, and got hurt in the process."

He shrugs, "I've always worked on a team. So when Drake offered...well, it was like an opportunity fell unto my lap."

Mon-El has posed:
Lar nods. Oh...he knows a thing or two about endangering Drake's life, and in general accidentally endangering other people's lives. "Don't feel bad about it. I almost got Drake killed before. Worse even still, I put him through hell." he admits. "It's a wonder he's even still my friend. But I'm glad for it." he says, smiling.

He pulls out a futuristic looking tablet and examines it a moment. "Huh. Well look at that. Might have a good first mission for you and Drake here real soon."

Zero-G has posed:
"Can I get a big burger...make that two. Or," Alex sends a glance back to Mon-El. He's a big boy. "Four, actually. And hmm, one vanilla milkshake and a strawberry-banana shake. Fries, too!" The total is ringed up, and he pays in cash. "Thanks!" As he waits for the order, he rounds back over to the Legion's table.

"Oh, a mission? For specifically me and Drake?" He quirks a brow. "That doesn't sound like it'll go poorly at all. Well, don't leave me in suspense."

Mon-El has posed:
Lar chuckles. "Well it should be pretty simple, might even be uneventful." he replies. "Some conservation group on this planet called Aeon in the Perseus Cluster is trying to treat some endangered creature with some kind of experimental formulation to help it survive better in habitats it's less well-adapted to. Only it's large and potentially dangerous so they just want someone to protect them in case things go south and it attacks for some reason. Though it sounds like they think that's pretty unlikely."

Zero-G has posed:
"So we're just guarding a few animals," Alex gathers. "How many creatures are we talking about here? Presumably, they would only need to test a sample group with us...if things work out from there, they could carry on the tests without supervision." He's never heard of the planet Aeon, but he remembers to ask Friday about it when they get home. "Yeah, I think that shouldn't be too much trouble for Drake and me," He grins. "You're not coming?"

Mon-El has posed:
"Well, more like guarding the scientists. And it's just one, apparently." Lar says, glancing at the tablet again. "Natives call them Icy Sky Dragons. Looks like some kind of ice elemental that likes to hang out at high altitudes."

He shakes his head at the question. "We'll keep an eye on things, don't worry. But I'm interested in seeing how you two work together."

Zero-G has posed:
"Okay," Alex nods firmly. "I am happy to help a world that's taking measures to keep its wildlife around. God knows we don't care enough about who we share the planet with here..." Speaking of, the burgers are ready! Alex excuses himself momentarily, comes back with a tray of food and milkshakes. He's slurping on the vanilla one.

"I think we'll be okay. I like Drake a lot, and there's Snowball too, to keep us boys in check."

Mon-El has posed:
"I think you will, too." Lar says, nodding in agreement. He helps himself to one of the burgers. "Of course, if things go -too- far sideways, we'll be nearby."

Zero-G has posed:
"Perfect," Alex grins, taking the cherry that was nestled pleasantly into some whipping cream and popping it into his mouth. "Try the fries," He slides them over. "They're objectively better than the burgers."
