Invisible Mystery
Date of Scene: 18 November 2019
Location: Wellness Office - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Brad's powers are investigated, so that he can see and be seen.
Cast of Characters: Rage, Beast, Haunt, Dragonfly (Armenteros), Nightingale, Cannonball, Shadowcat

Rage has posed:
Having been hanging out with Gwen earlier, Andrea and her headed over to Jay and Brad's room to knock on the door and meet up. After assuring Brad that meeting the Beast would be beneficial, they made their way into the wellness office. As usual, the Senior classmen walks with a wolf's confidence as she calls in. "Hello Doctor McCoy! I brought Brad with me, and Gwen, since we're all friends." She is dressed in a pair of joggers and a crop top that shows off the criss-crossing of deep scars along her hips and stomach, as well as a combat green military jacket with her mother's name and rank upon it.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy did come upstairs from <redacted>. He has in his hands a shoebox that he carrise into the Wellness center. Greeted shortly after he arrives he nods. "Brad, Gwen, Andrea. Hello. Brad just the person I need to see. Come in, Everyone have a seat."

Haunt has posed:
Brad isn't entirely invisible. In a warm bright orange safety-glo colored sweatshirt and some thick, dark gray pants, shoes, he's very apparent. Mostly because of the orange. He has a black knitted hat on, pulled down presumably over ears. To be assumed, since Brad is entirely see-through otherwise. His face and hands don't appear to be there: which would ordinarily give him a headless look, except for the floating hat! "Hi," Brad says. It isn't tentative or shy; it speaks of being brave about whatever this is.

The wellness office also starts to rattle a little. The cabinets shutter, a few of them opening slowly. It is as if poltergeists were unhappy with the group's arrival, but not /angry/ per se.

Brad comes over into the front, seeming to be able to not walk into things.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
Gwendolyn was actually on the way to do something when she was snagged by Andrea and, with Brad and potential visibility on the line, she found things were suitably interesting enough for her to alter her plans a little bit and come along with. "Hi Dr. McCoy." Gwendolyn says, waving from the back of the group. "Thanks for...um....seeing us? I guess?" She looks to Andrea, really unsure of exactly what this would be considered to be. She's dressed comfortably, in jeans and a baggy sweater that does well to hide anything that's not entirely human-looking on her arms and legs, but the goggles and antenna are right out there. She's more comfortable with them, it seems, now that she's been around Mutants for the last month or two.

Rage has posed:
Taking a seat and leaving the big one that is used for examinations for Brad, Andrea folds one leg over the other, then settles her hands around her phone as she goes about typing. "Brad, Doctor McCoy is one of the world's leading experts in mutations and genetics. I know that if /anyone/ can help you, it'd be him. He's helped so many students over the years here at Xavier's. Also, he loves Twinkies if you need to bribe him for a favor." She says as she holds up a box of them for Hank after reaching into her shoulder bag. Wiggle Wiggle.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy steps up to Brad, and looks at the empty spot where is face should be. "Brad, welcome." Putting his hand out for a shake. "Andrea told me about your problems, and I have a theory. My theory is that your invisiblity, and your blindness, have the same root origin: that your mutation manifests a field around you dissipating photons. And I have something you could wear, that would help you see when invisible, while you learn how to control your powers better." He then swipes the box of Twinkies.

Haunt has posed:
"Okay. When I gain better control of my twinkie-summoning powers, I'll know where to practice it," Brad answers Andrea, his nerves about this causing the joke to be slightly deadpanned, it isn't as good as his normal delivery.

Brad entirely doesn't seem to see the hand put out towards him. It's probably awkward.

"Wear? Like sunglasses?" Brad asks, trying to dampen the hope from his voice. "We haven't met, sir, how is it you know what's going on with my.... Thing?" Brad asks, curiously, but polite.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
"Is...is it okay we're here, Brad? I know some people are a little touchy about their mutation and all, talking about it in front of other people." That's GWen, concerned about the guy, even though she's curious as heck as to what he looks like.

Rage has posed:
"Yeah, we can wait outside if you want, Brad. I just figured you'd want the moral support." Andrea says as she reaches out to give his arm a gentle, comforting squeeze over the sleeve of his shirt.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy chuckles. "Well, one thing I hope we can teach at this school is not to be embarassed about what we are." He spreads his blue arms, then puts down the twinkies, and opens the box. Inside is a pair of goggles. Leather and brass. Only... the lenses are a few inches long. "Strap this to your head, son. This should allow the photons to be directed through the dispersion field, allowing you to see at all times. Try them."

Haunt has posed:
"It should be okay. I mean, you can tell me if the glasses are fashionable," Brad says, twisting his wrist towards where Andrea touched his arm to take her hand for a minute, fingers weaving in acceptance of the sign of support. Brad's hands are warm and a little broad for his height. "It's okay, Gwen."

Brad orients a little more, and the box moves, as Brad's telekinesis seeks out what Beast is referring to. A little bit of rattling later, and he's found the goggles. They float towards him, and he tries to figure them out by touch, letting go of Andrea. They twist: meaning, they appear to rotate at the ends of the floating sleeves, while he sorts out which way they go. He doesn't pull the band over his head, just pulls the goggles up to his face, and then fiddles with them some. Removes them. Turns them the other way.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
"So...?" Gwendolyn asks, once the goggles are put up and then down. "Do you see anything?"

Rage has posed:
"Is there a button he has to press to turn them on?" Andrea asks as she reaches up to help Brad settle the goggles over his head, shifting them a bit. She fumbles about looking for a button or a switch for the goggles.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy shakes his head, and sighs. "It's alright. They're obviously not working. I was so sure basedon the description. It's alright, Brad. I have some fallback tests to run." He then opens a Twinkie, puts it into Brad's hand, takes the goggles from Brad, and starts leading Brad across the room. A large hand on Brad's back, showing the young man precisely where to walk. "I'm going to take some measurements of what happens when you activate power power, and when you deactivate it. That hopefully will tell me everything."

Haunt has posed:
The twinkie is taken numbly, as the goggles are removed from Brad by Hank. There's a pause. Brad's quiet; he doesn't answer Gwen's clear question, he may not have to: the room has started to turn inside out.

The cabinets do more than just open slowly: the doors fling themselves open, loudly, and objects start to pour out from everywhere. An extra stool takes flight, bashing into the end of a bed. An IV pole gets whipped upwards, a small table joining it. The wellness office door swings wide open with a crash. Chairs twist and screech on the floor. Twinkies pulled aloft!

There's a lot of dangerous items in a medical facility, and the psychokinetic tornado is just starting to pick up speed as Brad's emotional state draws his dangerous power into the mix. Brad himself flickers. Visibly, his sweatshirt turns invisible, then visible.

"I'm sorry," Brad says fumblingly, which gets a little drowned out by the telekinetic free for all now active in the room. All of the bedding from one of the beds is pulled off and flung against the ceiling by the crazed effects....

Twinkie guts ooze onto the floor.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon is just on her way to the music room for some practice, when it seems as if all Hell breaks loose in the area of the wellness office. "What the hell's bells...?" Plastering herself to the doorway, a notebook full of blank staff paper and a pencil in hand, she peeks inside. One wing is brought up in front of her like a shield as she peers into the telekinetic tornado. "Holy wow..."

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
One thing that's good about Gwendolyn's insect-type skin? It can take a few nicks, here and there, if necessary, and the goggles do tend to block any sort of damage that might be coming their way. Dodging an IV pole, Gwen ducks down to get out of the way of any flying objects, using an instrument tray to bash away anything that might get close. "First bullet in the chamber, Brad. It's not his only shot. That's just the layup!" Gwendolyn /sounds/ confident, but she looks at Shannon when she enters with a 'I hope!' sort of expression.

Rage has posed:
Quickly ducking away from a few objects that fly her way, Andrea whips her hand out quickly to snag a IV pole in mid air, then twists herself around to plant it on the ground and away from them. Once things settle down, she says, "It's totally cool, Brad. Don't worry!" She says in an assuring, optimistic voice. "We all got your back and we can't get hurt." She says with confidence. She will tank for Gwen if need be.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy takes action when Brad flips out. He booms out to Gwendolyn, Andrea, and Shannon "Girls get back, get out of here, get to the door." He'll then wrap up Brad, and covering him completely, rushing him into a corner of the room. "Settle down son. Relax. I've got you. We'll fix this. I do this all the time. What you're dealing with is perfectly normal. We've all been through it, and we'll get through this." He then reaches for a 'helmet' of sorts, which arranges a set of probes around the head. "I'm going to put this helmet on your head for the scans. Is that alright?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hears the noise as he was just in the hall talking with some people. the other have headed on but he comes over to open the door and stick his head in, just in time to duck a flying bedpan "Everything ok in here?" he asks, not seeming more that a little suprised.

Haunt has posed:
The invisibility means that Brad's state isn't going to show: at least, not other than the room's reaction to Brad's stress level. He automatically pushes back against Beast, the poltergeist reacted in fear to being grabbed: but the push wasn't very strong. Lifting all the packets of tongue depressors is one thing, but Beast is another. Brad ends up mushed into the corner under the furry, large mutant, and makes a sort of weak sound of dismay.

"No. Let me calm down." If the issue with the helmet is pressed, it'll just get flung. Things are still flying everywhere, though they start to drop to the floor over the next minute, as Brad tries to rein it in. The floating stool drops on the bed and bounces to the floor. The bedding flutters down near the doorway towards Gwen and Andrea.

"I'm sorry. I just--- hoped."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon shakes her head and steps inside the door. "You don't leave a friend in the lurch." Yeah. There was about as much chance of getting her to leave as there was that day in Central Park.

Keeping her eyes on where Brad must be, going by Mr. McCoy's actions, and smiles to them both. "Hey... Brad? It's Shannon. You've got the best backing you up there. Once Mr. McCoy throws his hat into the ring, he won't give up easily. I've trusted my life to him a few times already. You'll be okay."

She smiles a little and pulls one of the stools that had gone flying over to a spot near the door, and plops herself down on it. "Don't lose hope. Somehow, I suspect Mr. McCoy's got a few more tricks up his sleeves. And your friends here aren't going to run."

Rage has posed:
"Brad, it's /okay/." Andrea calls out to him to assure him. "I'm still here and I won't go anywhere, okay? He's just trying to help and protect us, but we're fine. We'll /be/ fine. As long as I'm here, Gwen won't be hurt." She says as she blows some hair away from her face. She plucks the stool off the ground and resettles it, then goes about cleaning up. "Put the helmet on when you're ready. It will give Doctor McCoy the data he needs to figure things out. Don't worry about the first try not working." She speaks in a soft, soothing voice, one that has a hint of music behind it.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
Gwendolyn peeks up from under the fallen sheet, holding it off her head with one hand, looking to Shannon for a second, then back to Brad. "It's just his first, best guess, Brad. Off of what Andrea told him." She thinks that's what she heard, at least. "So he's not gotten to really do scans or anything. That's like me telling you the combination to a lock has numbers in it. Sure, you can guess at the numbers, but it might not open the lock."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy puts down the helmet, but he does keep a grip on Brad, shielding him from his own tantrum, and just trying to keep him held and protected in general. "Okay," he says softly. "Easy. Take your time." He doe sure hope the girls get out, but he's not going to push them out.

Haunt has posed:
"I didn't mean for that to happen," Brad replies, frustration in his voice. He did not mean to do it: his surge of disappointed loss just triggered a power that he doesn't have complete control over. "I'll do what you ask. Yeah. Nobody's hurt, right?"

There's just crap all over the floor, all cabinets have unleashed their sea of items into disorganized heaps. The objects still tremble, despite being on the floor, as if quivering, ready to leap into the air again. The helmet, now set down, becomes a focus, and spins around on the counter, though it doesn't go airborne.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles, trying to project that smile into her voice. "No, nobody's hurt. I've been through much worse in here, trust me. We're all of us pretty tough. Including you." She looks on with some measure of fascination, her eyebrows raising as she watches the helmet spinning around on the counter. "That... is so neat." There is most definitely the hint of a grin in her voice. "Like something out of Star Wars."

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
"That was trippy." Gwendolyn says as she gets to her feet, helping Shannon up with an offered hand and moving over to make the bed that was unmade. The mattress is flipped back easily, and she goes about smoothing out the fitted sheet. "No-one was hurt." Gwen emphasizes, looking over at Andrea with a smile. "That helmet will scan your head and figure out how your power works, and then, I guess, figure out how to switch it on and off?" She giggles. " Give you a clicker to turn it on and off with the press of a button."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "It is all good Brad, you not making as much of a mess as I did in my early days, you aint knocked any trees over yet so it is all good." He will say stepping in and moving to help pick stuff up.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy waits for Brad to have settled down, and then slowly starts moving. Gently helping the young man to his feet. Then taking the helmet, and carefully placing it on his head. "She's right. This is going to take measurements around your body, especially around your eyes. I also have sensors placed in three dimensional space around this spot. These are the kinds of the tools you need dealing with young mutants." ASsuming things are a go, he hits thd switch.

Haunt has posed:
A few bottles of Triage's vitamins tipped out of the cabinet. One of the caps is off -somehow. Telekinetic storm randomness. There's a tic ... tic... tic sound as some of the pills fall out of the neck of the bottle onto the counter below. That's the main sound now, as the rest of the room's objects are mostly in heaps where they can't fall anywhere. It just means the floor is medical-object-caltrops.

"I can't lift an X-Wing out of muck yet," Brad answers Shannon's joke quietly, trying to allow himself to be diverted by the girls' kindness. "I don't need a clicker; I'd be okay with my abilities just //off//, to be honest," Brad answers Gwen tiredly.

He submits to the test requirements, clearly with no problem having the helmet cover his face. It isn't like he can see normally anyway. He fidgets uncomfortably, though. He can't see people, but knows there are a lot of eyes in the room right now.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon chuckles softly at Brad. "How grow you so big, eating food of that kind?" Not a bad impersonation of Yoda, if a slightly feminine one. "Hang in there about your gifts, though. There's a lot of good you could do with them, if you choose. You think it was any easier for Luke Skywalker to learn to handle his abilities? Yeah, I know. Fictional universe, but still, the idea's there. He got his backside handed to him a few times, but he didn't give up. There's times I've taken on more than I probably should have with my own gifts, but still... came out of it alive and with lessons hard-earned. This is the beginning of -your- journey. Don't you give up on you, because none of us will."

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
"With practice, able to lift anything you'll be! Hrmmm." Gwendolyn does a good Yoda impression, fluffing the sheets and tucking them in, ignoring the chaos and caltrops on the floor behind her, smoothing the sheets and sitting down with a comfortable place to sit and watch, hopefully out of the line of fire.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and continues to help clean up. He is listening for not, letting Henry do the work and others do the work of helping build up Brad. He will scoop the keep working on putting things where they belong, as he listens to the others talking. He looks over a questioning look towards hank, curious how the readings as looking but not voicing the question.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy lets the tests run, walking away from Brad, and the machine, to a holographic screen. He then starts tapping at it. Shutting things off, then humming. A good 60 seconds of quietly folding his arms and tapping his chin. Then, inspiration.

"Brad. Take off the helmet at will. I'm going to try something. Tell me if you notice everything different." His instinct is to say "I'm going to let you see in 60 seconds," but we're not getting his hopes up again.

Hank then walks across the room, and goes into a corner cabinet. Bringing out... a black backpack, big and bulky, to bring to Brad and carefully put on him. The thing is heavy. And then, on top of that, it starts emitting a low buzzing as Hank switches on the localized nullifier field. "Any change?"

Rage has posed:
As she helps pick things up in the office, Andrea keeps a trained ear on the conversation between Brad and Hank. She looks optimistic as she offers up a smile towards Brad. "What does the backpack do?"

Haunt has posed:
Brad removes the helmet when told, and puts it aside. He does need help with the backpack, figuring out where the straps are. "Do I need a lead protection for my groin?" Brad jokes nervously when the thing hums. "It's entirely safe; why worry? Each of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back," Brad quotes Ghostbusters, shifting his weight. Around him, cabinets rattle a little: tension.

With the nullifier object in place, the invisibility distorts! It's briefly horrifying: like seeing partially inside Brad's neck of red muscle and spine, but it was only a flash before everything's visible!

Brad is a sixteen year old boy with wavy light brown hair, that falls forwards to the eyebrows in disarray; he hasn't had a haircut in a while, it's fluffy by ears and neck. Features are even, expressive; he's sturdy in look, his build matching his sports interests.

Brad reacts immediately, jerking his head back, eyes pressing shut tightly. "We've gone from black to searing white, now red," Brad reports, face scrunched in pain, eyes shut, frowning. He his hands are somewhat tense, long fingers curved into the sweatshirt fabric at the edges of the front sweatshirt pocket. He's a very light-skinned youth, with a pale cast normally reserved for prison inmates that never see the sunlight. He lifts both hands to block his eyes and face with his hands, automatically defensive against the brightness: and unaware he's visible.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon grins wide. "We've got one!" Yay for Ghostbusters! "Welcome back to the world, Brad." Given what just happened, she has a pretty good idea what the backpack does, and also that the light is probably doing a number on his eyes. Getting up from her stool by the door, she turns the lights down. "Hang tight there, let your eyes adjust." If allowed, she moves her stool a little bit closer and settles down.

The winged girl glances over to Mr. McCoy and smiles. "How big an area does that device affect, sir?"

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
One of the things flung around, when the drawers and the like were yanked open by Brad's Telekinesis, were some of those glasses used when you get your eyes dialated for optical exams, and thankfully, a pair of them are on the floor next to Gwendolyn. When Shannon goes for the lights, Gwen goes for the glasses, getting up close to Brad and carefully holding them so he can feel them. "Here. Sunglasses to cut the light even more." She prompts, letting him take them, stepping back, the darkness in the room not affecting her in the least thanks to her overactive sensitivity to vision. She doesn't take off her goggles, though, since it's probably best she doesn't, sitting on the bed.

Rage has posed:
Jolting upwards quickly from her seat, Andrea's eyes widen with alarm. "It worked! Holy cow, you did it Doctor McCoy! He's visible now!" She looks like she could howl with joy as she gives the Cookie Monster a big hug from the side. "Brad, wow, you're kinda cute dude." She says with a soft laugh. "Good idea on killing the lights and giving him some shades."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy stands back, and lets Brad experience sight in his own way. "You see, son, this may be the Xavier's School, but I've been in the real world. They expect results." He then chuckles. "You will want to be caerful wearing this. This is a personal mutation nullifier field. It's made just for students such as yourself, who are still learning how to handle their mutations. It turns out your sight... is just you still learning to handle the tremendous power in you. As you learn, and train, you will no longer need htis."

He then pauses. "Take it with you. It's free for you to use until I build you a refined nullifier, for just your eyes. Which may take a couple of weeks."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over at the group and smiles a bit but he does seem a bit thoughtful on this one. "I am pretty sure Hank has an instruction manual around here." He will look for it to see how often the thing has to charge, if the kid needs to spend time with it off and all that type of stuff waiting till Brad can see before offering it to him.

Haunt has posed:
"I can't ... sense anything, now I'm JUST blind---!?" Brad says, tilting from confusion to full blown alarm. At least at this point, zero things erupt or fly around. Brad can have a panic attack and nobody gets pelted with syringes from the cabinets. Still.

"You can see me?" WELL THEN. That confuses Brad more than anything. But Hank to the rescue with actual information. Brad fumbles the glasses that Gwen gave him, but it's just that he's shaking. He's squinting now though, trying to peek partially, the dark room helping a lot. "I've got fuzzy blobs," Brad says, but puts the glasses on. "Yeah. Fuzzy blobs." He grabs onto the straps of the backpack. It's a lot for Brad to process.

"It's something. Okay. Yes. I...I will. Weeks is great." Brad's on an emotional tilt between elation and panic. He doesn't know how to feel. His heart rate is through the roof.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon keeps her voice soft as she looks over to Brad. "Hey. You're going to be okay. You haven't been able to see in a long time so your eyes are going to need time to adjust." She smiles some. "I've still got a lot to learn about healing, but... maybe sunglasses for a while, till your eyes can adjust?" With a bit of a smile, she moves over his direction, slowly, to offer him a hug, if he chooses to accept it.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
The lines from that old movie 'The Matrix' come to mind. Why do my eyes hurt? You've never used them before or, rather, in Brad's case, not since he went invisible. "Well, the furry blob leaving the room is Dr. McCoy, the blob with two giant white blobs on her shoulders is Shannon, and the blob talking to you is Gwendolyn. Oh, and Andrea's the blob squeezing the cookie monster."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods and says "You should be able to see normal when your eyes adjust to the light, and if you need or want to use your powers you can take th eback pack off, but you will be back to not being able to see normal till you put it back on. I would suggest keeping some sunglasses with you.

Haunt has posed:
"Okay," Brad says softly. He still doesn't know how to react. He's also used to nobody being able to SEE him, so his emotions are all over his face. There's silent tears now, as he tries to deal. "Andrea, can you get something for me? Tethered by the back garage is my seeing-eye dog, Holly. My dad brought her early this morning. I didn't think that I'd ---- but I'm going to need her again, and um. The gear for her?" Brad asks. "Or I'm going to have to take the backpack off. I can't see. I still can't see." Entering hyperventilation. Still, he tries to breathe when Andrea rushes off.

"Okay. Okay." Brad grips onto the person hugging him, unsure entirely who it is, but accepting the comfort offered. He isn't aware of the instruction manual, but maybe one of the girls can grab it for him.

Nightingale has posed:
The feathery wings wrapping around Brad should tell him pretty much who it is. She reaches up to dry his tears, humming a soft, light little tune. "Hey. It's Shannon. Hang in there. It's a lot to process, I bet, all this happening at once. Things you thought were lost to you, all of a sudden dropped into your lap again." Her wings, thankfully, are not affected by the nullifier, being a physical part of her, but it's highly likely the rest of her gifts were. "Just take a few deep breaths. You're going to be okay. We're all here with you."

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
"I'll go get your dog." Gwendolyn says softly, her touch gentle on Brad's shoulder as she gets to her feet. "I'll be back soon, okay?" And out she goes.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Your going to be ok Brad." He will offer him the instruction manual. "This is all the info in the backpack, one of us can read it to you if need but Ah figure you will wanna keep ahold of it till you know it pretty well.""

Haunt has posed:
"Okay," Brad says from inside the feathery wing-place he's been wrapped in. He's otherwise gone quiet, still hanging onto Shannon with one hand, though the other moves to roughly wipe his face, fingers pressing up under the glasses, as he mans up. Stop crying, geezus dude.

Brad releases a breath and pulls back a little: still unaware of the instruction manual. He can't see enough to realize it's there, but Sam can set it nearby if he chooses. "This is like how it was when it first started. Just straight up blind." He's squinting, frowning, trying to use his eyes a little, now. "Well, not that bad. This is... It's like a shower door." He's looking around now.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon loosens the cocoon of her wings a little bit, if Brad wishes to pull away. Too, her grip is loosened, but not entirely released. She smiles at him briefly. "Hey... maybe when your eyes adjust and you're okay to go outside, we can go back out to the lake and I can show you the dive-bomb you kind of got lost on the other day." Her voice drops a bit, a little bit sad, and a little bit embarrassed. "I'm real sorry for that. You do so well, and I didn't want to treat you like you're any different from anyone else."

Rage has posed:
Having headed off to snag Holly, Andrea, who is GOOD WITH DOGS, comes back with the canine who is trotting along at her side faithfully, if not a tad submissive. She is the Alpha after all! "Here you go, Brad. I have your dog. She's really sweet by the way and says she likes beef wellington." She has a cheeky grin upon her face. "Oh! When you feel better, I can have my stylist give you a haircut and make you look like a rockstar. It's all shaggy." She giggles.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Well is has been a while since you used your eyes might take a couple days for things to clear up, honestly ah am not to sure, the docs should know a bit more."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy having given Brad a moment, smiles. "Brad. Don't worry. I always look fuzzy." he adds, stepping back and swirling his coffee with more twinkie. "But yeah, you'll take some time to adjust. And the goggles, ideally will let you go invisible while letting you continue to see. But no promises yet."

Haunt has posed:
Holly sniffs a little, alert as she smells her boy. She's used to seeing his legs, so to her, it's the same. She roves away from Andrea quickly and sits by Brad's leg with a quiet whine, her tail wagging. She's excited to see him, but clearly trained to work. Brad drops his hand to her quickly when she comes close, curving his fingers against her ears. She's a pretty black Labrador with a white blaze on her chest. "Hi Holly," Brad greets her, quiet. His hand drops naturally to see if she's wearing her guidance gear.

"Yeah, um, don't worry about it Shannon; happens all the time," Brad answers her concern, a little confused. He hadn't carried any upset into the next day about it!

"So goggles would let me see but still have my telekinetics? Is that the idea? That'd be perfect."

Shadowcat has posed:
That stack of paperwork kept Kitty and Kurt occupied for awhile, but finally she emerged from the Guidance Counselor's offices, stretching her back from having been leaning over the desk for so long. "Seriously, I need to set us up for fully paperless," she comments to herself as she goes to grab another cup of coffee. Lockheed rejoins her as he sees her emerge, leaving his spot he's been relining on one of the heating vents in the floor.

"Let's go check in on things," she comments to the dragon as she pauses by the first doorway. She swings the door to the Wellness Office open and her eyes show surprise at the number of people inside. "If Sam Guthrie made Monday Meat Surprise and everyone's here with a sick stomach-" she gets out before seeing Sam in there too.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon nods and smiles some, tucking her wings in behind her back and drawing away from the hug, once she sees Brad has his service dog there. She knows better than to interfere without permission. "Well, the offer stands all the same. Just let me know when your eyes adjust and I can try showing you that dive-bomb again."

Standing up, she backs away, just out of range of the backpack on Brad, and sees Kitty. A small nod and a smile are offered to her. "No, no Monday Meat Surprise that I know of. Just something of a small miracle, thanks to Mr. McCoy.

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy smiles to Kitty. " You know how it is, Kitty. New stuents comes to the school, and is still adjusting to those new powers. We've all been through it. I'm going to build Brad something permanent, but for now he has The Backpack on." A heavy duty personal nullifier is worth capital letters, and you can hear it in how he says it. "It's a lifesaver. But yeah Brad I'll work on it. For now though, I'm going to get some dinner. This mess can wait a bit."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over to kitty and says "Oh I see how it is Pryde, I see how it is." He grins a bit, and will move to finish cleaning up staying out of the way.

Rage has posed:
"Thank you so much, Doctor McCoy. You're amazing." Andrea says to Hank with a bright smile on her face as she continues to pick up items off the floor and put them back in the proper shelves and drawers.

Haunt has posed:
"A haircut? Hehe, yeah. You don't like my grown-out buzz-cut? So, okay. That, and getting my picture taken. People ask me ALL THE TIME what I look like. I'll be able to show them," Brad says, with a little hesitancy. Is it safe to hope again? He's gotten his emotional feet under him again, and Holly's there to reduce his panic about being blind. He puts his hand on the guidebar and Holly immediately rises, recognizing the cue. "Yes, thank you," Brad echoes lamely, towards Hank. Hard to quite put into words what this did to upend his reality. He scooches carefully in the room, mindful of the mess he can't see underfoot.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty flashes Samuel Guthrie a grin back, moving over to rest an arm on the Kentuckian's shoulder. "It was either you or Logan. And Logan is more prone to stabbing," she tells him with a good-natured smile.

Kitty looks back over to Brad and Hank as the situation is explained. The brunette pauses, looking at Brad up and down as if just to emphasize that she's seeing him. "So you're Brad, haven't had a chance to come meet you yet, but I heard about you. I'm Kitty Pryde. It's really nice to see you," she says, adding just the small bit of emphasis on the visual portion as she grins at him and offers her hand. "Hank, you're amazing," she says towards Beast. "If you can use any assistance on the programming end? Maybe optimizing the power regulation to get more battery life? We made some advancements with those power nullifier defeaters that I bet we can apply," she offers to him. Kitty flashes a quick look around the room, nodding to each other person in turn that she hasn't gotten to greet yet.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon chuckles a little bit at Kitty's remark, and shrugs. "About the worst stabbing I've seen from him is verbal so far, chewing me out for winding up in the medbay that one time. Pretty much roared like a hurricane. Think that's just because he gives a care, that's all." She bites her lip for a second, and shoots Kitty a quick look. "Cocoa soon?"

She moves to help Sam finish cleaning up the mess in the wellness office, stopping a moment to give him a great big hug--and, if she can successfully reach on tiptoe, a noogie. Why? Noogies need no reason!

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
Gwendolyn comes back in after Andrea's been back for quite a while, holding a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses she found in the lost and found. "Here, Brad..." she trails off, seeing Kitty there, apparently making introductions, as well as Brad's seeing-eye-dog hanging out, too. She holds up the sunglasses. "Something more fashionable than the cheap glasses you've got on now."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will hugs Shannon back, and says "Ah am starting to think you guys are checking to make sure Ah aint developed a soft spot or something from blasting through walls." He jokes at the noogies. He reaches a hand into his pocket and sneaks something up to Lockheed offering it to the dragon.

Rage has posed:
Offering up a smile to Brad, Andrea picks up one more thing from the ground, then glances down at her phone. "I'll see you later, Brad. I'm going to head back to my room for a bit. I'll stop by later to see you and Jay."

Haunt has posed:
"Hi, Kitty," Brad answers, partially orienting towards her. He hasn't run into Kitty before, so he's taking her in as the general bloblike form he can see: so, mostly by her voice location. He has the black glasses on that he was given, and the wellness office is still dark: they had turned the lights off for Brad's comfort. Still, how Brad moves and orients broadcasts his blindness. He's blindly moving objects aside with his shoes, to continue to cross the room towards Kitty and the doorway.

Much like when Hank offered a handshake earlier, Brad also doesn't react when Kitty offers her hand. He doesn't see it. Awkward.

"Do you know - How long will the backpack last? Do I need to plug it in? Can I just take it on and off safely?" Brad asks Kitty, after hearing her technical questions. Holly braces her paws little, warning her boy about the hazards on the floor, and steers him to the area that Sam and Shannon are cleaning as a better path.

Brad turns towards Gwen's voice. "Sure. Can you put them here, please, Gwen?" He asks, extending his hand towards her voice and general blur, palm up. Old habits were in place, and Brad is moving back to them: from a time before his telekinesis helped with the blindness. "okay, Andrea."

Nightingale has posed:
"Nope. Your skull is as thick and solid as ever. Good, solid oak. I'd say metal, but Logan's got the corner on that market." Shannon grins impishly at Sam, not even bothering to duck out of his way. If anything, she extends a wing around behind him, and attempts to tickle him, giggling a little bit.

Seeing the way that Holly is guiding Brad, she glances over to him, tilting her head slightly. "Where is it you're trying to go? I'll make sure to clear you a path if you like." The blindness wouldn't last forever. She smiles, seeing Holly, but makes no move towards the canine companion. "She's a pretty girl. Has she been with you long? Sorry if I missed you saying it before."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty gives Shannon a nod bac at the question. "Definitely," she replies to the winged student. Gwendolyn is given a friendly smile, as is Andrea as Kitty looks back to Brad. "We're really glad to have you here at the school. And, even more glad that Hank seems to have been able to help out. I'm one of the guidance counselors. Also one of the system administrators for the computer system," she explains.

"Sure, let me take a look at what Hank has set up there real quick. I'll just hop on the computer," she says, having picked up on Brad's inability to see. She moves over to take a seat, bending to scoop up two items she tosses over to Shannon when she's ready for them.

"So what's your dog's name?" Kitty asks as she access the terminal. "Also, do you want to take a seat for now, or are you ok with the weight of it," she asks of The Backpack.

The brunette hrms quietly. "Well, there's an on-off switch. It might feel a bit weird just removing it while it's on. Not dangerous, just, best to turn it off first. Ok, let me do some quick calculations on battery life," she says, pulling up chart of the power usage so far.

Dragonfly (Armenteros) has posed:
The glasses are placed gently in Brad's hand, set in the right way so he can swing them up to his eyes easily. "Here, I'll get the other pair." GWendolyn says quietly, witing for him to close his eyes so she can pull the temporary glasses away in time for him to put the better ones on.

Haunt has posed:
"I can sit. We can turn it off a minute. It /is/ heavy," Brad agrees, but seems reluctant to remove it yet. He does sit when guided, to do the calculations Kitty's asking for. Besides: more time to sort of peer around through the blurs may, over time, help. He just needs to be patient.

"Thanks everybody. You can go if you need to. I'll be all right." Brad smiles at Shannon's question. His smile is new: usually he's invisible. Brad's got sunny smiles, full of straight white teeth, easy going, infectious. "Long time. Just trying to not need her help, you know? Independence." He brings his attention back to Kitty, and sorting the device out. It's a distraction from the emotional overhaul of the day, for sure.
