That's What Heroes Do

Synestria (109) has posed:
    It's right in the middle of the day, in the area of lunchtime for most gotham-ites and there are some people in the bank trying to open accounts, make withdrawals, etc etc. Even Autumn Sillwater is getting ready to make a deposit into her bank account here. Her life has been good.

....Suddenly

"EVERYBODY ON THE GROUND! NOW!" Four Hooligans yell in black and white suits qeilding Tommy Guns, and a fifth one walks in with a tommy gun in one hand....and flipping a coin in the other. Anyone who doesn't get down is hit in the face with the butt of a tommy gun. The fifth guy is also wearing a black and white suit, black on one side, white on the other, same as the others, but he's distinctly different. One side of his face, he's really a handsome man, with slicked back hair and everything. the other side of his face looks like he fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

"Be glad the coin said to be merciful, Ladies and Gentlemen." The Fifth guy growls. "It's just that time of the month for the banks to pay their protection money to TWO FACE!"

Just as Two Face mentions his name, one of the cashiers hits the silent alarm.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann has has an interesting week...her first week in Earth school as Megan Morse. Learning from Earth books is much harder than learning from Martian Ideagrams. She has dropped her books in her room and is wandering around as Megan when a spike of fear draws her attention. Something frightening is going on inside the building.

M'gann turns invisible (well, it is very good camouflage really, but close enough to invisible) and disperses herself, passing into the building to see what is happening. She stands in the lounge, trying to figure out what is going on...

Scarlet Spider has posed:
The Scarlet Spider is on the move just as soon as the alarm hits the airwaves calling in the cops. Having intercepted the signal courtesy of a home made radio antenae hooked to his smartphone and a custom made app.. He can listen in wherever. Gotham is the Bat's city at night.. but during the day it's open season on criminals.

He leaps off the side of the building where he was hanging out, pulling up his hood in midair, and plummeting nearly to street level. A webline snaps out and he's off, doing 60 MPH during the arc of the swing. He releases just shy of the apex and is sent hurtling through the air. Being a silent alarm, he holds back his customary 'Whoop' of exhiliration. Nothing quite like webslinging for the sheer rush.

In only a moment or three, he lands on the edge of the building, crawling down to the edge of the window and peeking in, his bright red mask just barely cresting the edge.

Zachary Lightwing has posed:
Zachary really doesn't visit banks very often. He very rarely needs cash for any purpose, but today the online rental system had bugged out and he had resolved to stuff his rent into his landlord's hand himself instead of waiting on them trying to fix it.

He behaves with a startle like most of the people in the bank do, having not expected to be caught in the middle of a robbery. However, after the initial jolt of fear, he calmly gets down onto his bottom against one of the nearby walls and clasps his hands in his lap. He sits against that wall at a point where he can watch the room, and although he is moderately normal in appearance, his attitude is not indicative of someone being held hostage in a bank robbery.

He looks more like someone relaxing to watch a television show.

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn Stillwater is actually just minding her business. She's had a few good days and now she's making a deposit. All in all, its a good day. At least, until Two-Face shows up. "Oh crap."

Quickly she drops down. Immediately her mind begins going at a hundred miles an hour. There are too many people here right now. Too many who can get hurt. She whispers, "Get down, listen to them. Thats Harvey Two-Face!" Her gaze goes towards the security office door.

Captain America has posed:
     A normal mid-day for gotham means the usual gloom and doom of smog and fog high above the city. A cool spring breeze flutters its way through town drifting the clouds of smog to and fro.

     Far bellow the cloud-cover it seems that traffic is already back bumper to bumper as lunch break seems to have been completely interrupted. A storm of honking horns and shouting drivers fills the air, as the powder keg begins to build up further and further.

     With so many cars stuck lined up against one another it takes a lone engine to break through the sounds of honking, engines, and expletives. In this case that sound to break it is the roar of a motorcycle engine.

     A red and blue streak passes between cars, as the cycle rips its way over traffic. The bike itself a highly modified Harley Davidson XA with a brand new thunderous engine and American flag paintjob down either side.

     "Head out on the highway" The driver sings over the sounds of honking horns and idling engines. "Looking for adventure." The backing accompaniment of a booming radio carries his vocals. "And whatever comes my way!"

     A quick moment made for pause as he ramps the motorcycle right off the back of a car carrier catching some good air time, right over the bank and into an open intersection where it seems an accident has coincided with the burglary to block traffic.

     Popping a wheelie on the motorcycle he spins out doing several doughnuts before coming to a stop. Stepping off the bike itself is a single red boot, belonging to the Star Spangled Man: CAPTAIN AMERICA! With a mighty shield on his back and a spring in his step, as he pops up the kickstand.

Aquaman has posed:
Royalty's in Gotham.

Perhaps the King of Atlantis is out seeing the sites. Perhaps he's just wandering around and being as regal as possible. Or maybe he's just doing that thing where he's wandering around and being the King. He doesn't have an escort. The princess of Xebel isn't around either. That doesn't mean that the King of Atlantis can't just be out and about being himself.

The Trident of Poseidon is strapped to his back, of course and he immediately casts a glance across the street at the sound of all the Gangster Badness. There's a moment where he actually rolls his eyes before walking with a predatory step, almost like a shark on on land, towards the building of drama.

"Batman. You're going to owe me two now."

Synestria (109) has posed:
    "Very good, everyone." Two-face growls as he walks around and looks at everyone laying down....and flipping his coin.

This is never good.

Suddenly, as he's standing next to Autumn, he catches his coin.....and peers down at her. "This is your lucky day, little girl. GET HER UP!" He barks an order to one of his cronies, who roughly drags Autumn up by the hair. That's when Two Face makes his way over towards the door of the cashier's office. "Open up the door.....or she dies.....then when I get back there.....YOU DO!"

Violent, isn't he?

A cashier quickly makes her way towards the door and lets harvey in. "Now.....where's the manager? You know...the one with the code to the vault." And he flips his coin.......

Out in the main gallery area, no one has noticed M'gann yet (how could they?), nor has anyone noticed Scarlet Spider. But Captain america and Aquaman have been noticed and two of the thugs point their guns at the doors. "You're kidding me. Captain flag and the fish wonder are here! What do we do boss?"

And that's when harvey catches the coins. "WHAT DO YOU THINK IDIOTS!? BLAST 'EM!"

*insert sounds of Machine gun fire and shattering glass*

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann can feel the increase in fear as the slug-throwers start firing, and can tell the woman being dragged to the back does not think she can deal with things herself. M'gann decides she SHOULD to something, but the question is...what?

M'gann has to think, who can she help most, and how. If onlky she has more skill with her powers...well first. Solidify, but keep invisible for a second and crush the barrel of the gun pointed at the hostages...

Scarlet Spider has posed:
Spider see's the goings on of the Lobby. The ugly man and his goons. "Ugh.. at least the New York criminals have a fashion sense. This guy is all binary. " He says and grins to himself under the mask. Watching them, see see's Aquaman and Captain America show up, and they likely notice him too.. as he's on the side of the building just above the doors. He crawls back up the building to the roof and jogs to the far side.

Turning, he sprints back to the side he was on, zipping across the graveled roof, and leaping off the end. A leap that would clear a city block if he chose to.. but no.. he waits a long few seconds before turning and twin weblines fire, attaching themselves on either side of the door and anchoring there. He gives a mighty yank, reversing his momentum on a dime and soaring back, this time directly at the door(hole).

He'll hit the ground, roll and bounce up at the face of the one guy shooting at the door, and an impact webbing pellet flying at another one.

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn Stillwater is suddenly in a very not so good situation. She has a gun on her and she's having her life threatened. Everything within her wants to scream and break down. Still she holds herself together. Gotta keep a cool head. "Please... Don't do this. Mr. Dent, you're a good man. I know it! Please, you can still stop this." She softly tries to Negotiate. It's a dangerous game she's playing but no less dangerous then doing nothing and waiting for a hole in the head. She doesn't move unless pushed to do so. After all, Just because she's a hostage doesn't mean she's willing to commit such a large scale crime.

Captain America has posed:
     "Hey Aquaman." Cap calls over before quickly throwing his shield from his back, into his hands in time to block a volly of shots. The rounds impact fast and hard one after another rebounding off the shield as he makes for cover.

     "Fancy crossing paths out here," He calls over a bit of a shout as the force of the impacts clang over and over against the shield shots still going wild."Remind me to come to Gotham more often" He adds with a smile, and a bit of a nod towards Ben as the spider makes his way inside.

     He's doing his best to keep shots predictable, kicking them right back into the side of the building rather then at potential civilians. "Cap, to Avengers, anyone read? Gonna be a little late to the group cookout, ran into some trouble on the route through Gotham."

Aquaman has posed:
Aquaman could be there in a single leap but he's attempting to put the intimidation factor into high gear. His steps just seem to be picking up the stomping pace as he approaches the doors to the building. He doesn't even pay attention as the bullets are striking him and bouncing off into various directions. Hopefully, they are going in directions that aren't other people.

"Captain."

    Aquaman gives the Captain a nod before he moves closer to the doors and watches the glass shatter through all of the machine gun fire. "Pardon me a moment. I have some things to take care of." Aquaman then rears back to punch what's left of the doors off their hinges and send them flinging inside. Time to make an entrance! Or something like it.

Zachary Lightwing has posed:
Zach adjusts his posture and crosses his legs there on the floor. His phone chimes there on his belt, and then it starts to ring, and he pulls it off his belt and starts to fumble with it.

Then he stuffs his phone under his bottom and finally shoots nervous glances to all the people with firearms, wincing at the sound of their automatic weaponry being fired through the windows. He lets a out a big sigh and grimaces at what's happening.

"Gonna need to find a new apartment at this rate," he complains under his breath, looking very stressed as he mentally struggles with the inconvenience and the knowledge that he could just reach out and zap one of the goons if they came near him and how quickly that could risk his prized mundanity.

He looks between each of the goons, hostility collecting in his eyes, but he stops short of acting on his impulse to do something to create an opening for him to flee when more than one hero shows up and eliminates his need to take any action at all. The doors fly into the room and he can finally clearly see one of the saviors.

"Holy shit, it's Aquaman!"

Yeah, he just blurted that out like a complete fanboy. He doesn't know who the Martian is, though. Oh well.

Synestria (109) has posed:
    One gunman aiming at the door yelps in surprise as Scarlet Spider as his gut is hammered in. The other gunman also jumps as the impact webbing knocks the gun out of his hands. "CAN'T YOU TWO DO ANYTHING RIGHT!?" the third gunman says as the gun is crushed in his hands by...someone not there.

Then the door goes flying in and knocks the second gunman off his feet....and into the third one....knocking them both out.

What an entrance guys....

The gunman and Two Face are at the vault, and it's open, and Autumn still has a gun to her head. "Keep talking, dame, and I'll blow your damned head off." He growls at her, then looks at the manager...then to Autumn.....

And he flips his coin....

Once he catches it...the coin has an 'X' over the side that's up. "This is your lucky day, chick." He then tugs out a silver pistol and points it at the manager.

*BANG*

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann Reads the intent...Two-face is broadcasting pretty loud. She Jumps in front of the manager and drops her invisibility, being suddenly visible as a green girl with red hair and eyes. She says, "No killing today, by orders on Miss Martian."

Scarlet Spider has posed:
Benjamin Reilly spins, and another impact webbing pellet gets launched. This time at the silver pistol. Or rather at the hand holding it. Assuming it hit's it'll envelop his hand in a thick wad of sticky webbing, gumming up the guns mechanisms and the barrel. I wouldn't pull that trigger. You may lose that hand." He tells Two-Face.

The Spider looks around from his crouched position. "Oh yeah.. bad guys in back." And he sprints into the back to deal with them.

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn Stillwater gasps as suddenly, Two-face shoots at the bank manager. Her eyes close tightly. She doesn't make a sound. Nope she's quiet as a lamb before the slaughter. Her eyes open to see... A Martian?! She blinks a few times as some spider strikes as well.

Her mind races as she tries to figure outwhat she can do. If there was ever a time its now. All she can think is to sing. Thats it! She learned that from a movie! With a quick motion, while Two face is distracted she drives her elbo into his stomach. Then she insteps, stomping his foot. A rapid punch is made as she brings her fist up to his Nose and then down to his groin. Sing!

Captain America has posed:
     Now that the gunfire has stopped, this proves to be Caps chance. He runs into the building at almost 20 mph, just kicking up a small cloud of dusts as he sprints his way into the bank building flipping onto the top of the door as it's kicked into the room, using it to fling himself forward.

     Cap throws his shield down in front of him, landing on it to completely nullify the impact of his landing. As he lands down into a bit of a roll he slips his arm back inside of the band of the shield before throwing it out further into the building. A quick ricochett off of one wall and onto the other is had before the Shield goes right for poor old Two-Face's goons.

Aquaman has posed:
Aquaman has taken it upon himself to make sure that the others are covered. "Do not be gentle with him. He has threatened innocents. Deal with him accordingly." These are words that are tossed at the backs of the heroes that have gone on to take care of the madness in the back.

It is at that moment that Aquaman starts to pick up the prone gangster bodies and pile them up together. There's even a small smile as he does it.

Synestria (109) has posed:
    Two face intended to shoot the manager's leg, but M'gann foiled that. That's when a SECOND, black pistol is drawn and pointed at Autumn's head. "Or maybe not. TRY ME LITTLE GIRL AND THIS ONE'S HEAD GETS VENTILATED!" And with that, his silver pistol is webbed out of his hand. "If you insist." And that's when he flips a coin....

To get his foot stomped on and it punched in the nuts. "UGH!" and he loses the coin. "NOOOOOOO!" He says crawling after the coin! "HOW'M I SUPPOSED TO DECIDE IF I DON'T HAVE MY COIN!"

And...the last gunman stares at his boos...and shakes his head....then takes the drum, popps it off of the rifle...and empties the chamber, then drops the rifle and puts his hands up. "I'm done."

Two face is still crawling after his now.....out of sight, coin.

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann locates the missing coin and unleashes a short blast of incandescent force from her eyes, flattening the coin into tin foil. She says, "I guess you will have to think for yourself." She issuddenly distracted, that human is thining very oddly...almost like is not not actually a guman...

Scarlet Spider has posed:
Spider smiles at the goon who gives up from under his mask. "Y'know.. for a brainless henchman.. you're a smart guy." He says and approaches him, pulling his hands behind his back and webbing his hands together. Walking away to find another bad guy to restrain

Star Shimmer has posed:
Finally. She's free to do something. She quickly moves to get away. She sits down against the teller's counter and rubs her head. Quietly she starts to whimper. She's held strong through the worst of things and now, it's coming to a front. "What am I going to do?"

Tears begin to flow as the heros clean up. "What am I going to do?" She whispers as she comes to terms with what happened, the whole fact that she just was put in a life and death situation which was all balanced on the flip of a coin...

Captain America has posed:
     Cap walks into the room calmly holding up his arm. The bounding shield ricochets off the walls and back into his grasp, a quick flick of the wrist in order to send it right back over his forearm and into place.

     "Well over-all I'd call this a successfully stopped bank robbery." A bright smile of pure white teeth comes across his face, as he adds. "Top notch work here people, glad we could get this sorted with minimal casualties."

     He looks over towards the panicking Two-Face and offers. "If no one else minds, I'd be more then happy to take out two faced friend here into custody, and make sure he answers to the police."

Aquaman has posed:
With the bad guys arranged in the 'A' shape and suddenly soaking wet, the Aquaman is no longer there. He has created much collateral damage and moved on to the next thing. There may be a chance for people to realize he was here and the way he left from the dent in the street but Aquaman must've returned to the sea! To gloat!

And maybe to text Batman: 'In Your City. Drownin' Your Rogues.'

    "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Two Face screams, and even scrapes at the floor to pick up the flattened coin with his fingernails...and that's all he concentrates on.

A few minutes later, the G.C.P.D. makes their way inside and they take them all into custody, even Jim Gordon looks them all over. "Thank you." he says to Aquaman, Captain America, M'gann and Scarlet Spider. he then uses a wrench to pick up Two Face's coin.

"Shame...." Gordon says handing the coin to another officer. "Harvey Dent. Used to be the most brilliant district attorney in Gotham. Now with the burns to his face, he is only Two Face....and the only thing keeping him halfway sane....is the coin." he then looks to the Officer. "Re-mint the coin and make sure it's back to the way it was before, then take him to Arkham."

Miss Martian has posed:
M'gann is wondering whether she did the right thing in crushing the coin. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time...anddid keep him from hurting anyone else, so on the whole it was not a bad choice. She Tuens to look at the person who is thinking strangely for a moment, then goes over to comfort the frightened girl, "You did well little sister, many people would not have had the presence of mind to do what you did. Do not let yourcelf be tangled in troubles after they are over."

Zachary Lightwing has posed:
    Zachary only stands when the police finally arrive. He makes sure to clip his phone back onto his belt, adjust his tie and his glasses, stand and make sure errant bits of glass or a stray bullet didn't hit him in the middle of all of that. Then he calmly seeks out the sound of Autumn's little panic attack, and crouches nearby her where she's hiding.

He silently holds out his hand, a passive look on his face, in the hopes she accepts the offer to help her stand up. "It's time to go. Cops are here, they can help you, they'll need a statement." A moment of creased brow, and he adds, "You did great. Better than I would've done."

"C'mon."

Star Shimmer has posed:
Autumn Stillwater frowns and just hangs her head. Tears are still flowing. "I had a gun to my head. My life depended on a the flip of a coin! hOw am I supposed to feel. I watched as he tried to shoot a guy." She frowns. "On top of this, I live in this city. I guess not anymore. I pissed off one of the big names in Gotham." She frowns and just rubs her head.
