Cast of Characters: Blackout, Namorita

Blackout has posed:
It's 3:31pm. The 2000 square foot, multi walled, art gallery will be closing within the next two hours. The man in the very unique black business suit has been in the gallery for the last hour. He spends a large amount of time at each piece, studying, observing, considering at great length what the art has to offer. At least to him. He's been approached several times to see if he's interested in purchasing one or another piece. He always tells the attendant that he's just shopping. She's dismissed and he continues on. There are 12 other patrons in the gallery. Most come and go within 15 to 20 minutes.

Another patron enters the gallery. A man wearing a hoodie that covers his head, gloves covering his hands and normal jeans/boots below. It's pretty obvious if one looks him in the face is that the man is not the typical run-of-the-mill human. Instead, he's reptilian appearing with green skin and red eyes. < http://prntscr.com/q0nxs1 > He enters the gallery, begins to try and blend in while looking at art.

Namorita has posed:
Miss Nita Prentiss is also here at the gallery, but less to admire the art than to meet with the gallery management. It's a good meeting, and doesn't last as long as she's allowed, so she decides to actually take a look around the gallery for herself. Nita is somewhat dressed for business, in wide-bottom slacks and a matching low-cut blazer. The flare of her trousers hide ankle-wings, and the Jimmie Choo flats are still comfortable. But with her long, blonde hair pulled back there's no disguising those arched brows and pointed ears.

She slowly descends the staircase from the upper floor offices, fingers gliding lightly along the rail as she looks over the gallery.

Blackout has posed:
The man in the unique black business suit can be seen standing next to the man wearing the hoodie. Their backs are two Nita as she descends the stairs. Though, she doesn't have to see their faces to know that they are talking and the two styles of attire do not match. The man in black hands the man in the hoodie a capped metal cyllinder (2 inchs in diameter, 11 inches in length).

The other patrons within the gallery are obvlious to the exchange.

Namorita has posed:
Nita happens to be just a BIT more streetwise than the typical patrons in the gallery, so to her the exchange seems pretty bold. For all that, the Atlantean woman doesn't head directly towards the two men. Instead, she focuses her attention on the man in the hoodie. And she takes a circuituous route that will put herself between either of them and the nearest exit.

Blackout has posed:
Those few moments it takes Nita to reach the space between the men and the main exit is taken up by a few quiet words between them. The man in black turns away and begins moving toward the back of the gallery. However, the man in the hoodie turns toward the exit as he slides the cyllinder into his hoodie (holding with his right hand beneath the cloth over his left chest/underneath his left arm) - trying to conseal it for the moment while he moves toward the exit that Nita now blocks. He keeps his head down, trying not to look at people or make eye contact so he doesn't even notice her in his approach. Until it's too late.

Namorita has posed:
Nita reaches the exit before the man with the hoodie, and there's no doubt about her intentions as she interposes herself directly in his path. She's tall for a woman, but is still a woman in a business suit after all. In a low voice she states. "Good afternoon. I'd like to have a little chat, and I'd prefer to do it with minimal damage to the gallery." Right. Easy Way or Hard Way.

Blackout has posed:
His face rises to look into hers. He grimmaces.

Basil Elks was originally a small time crook. One day he broke into a museum and was about to steal an emerald. Little did he know the emerald came from an alien world and possessed power. When he was about to grab it, the guards at the museum shot at Elks but missed. Instead the guard's bullets hit the emerald and all of a sudden this turns Elks into a powerful reptilian being. He attacks the guards and later decides to start a new life as a super villains and begins to call himself the Basilisk.

Basilisk says reluctantly, "Awe come on... I ain't doin nothin wrong. Just tryin to get by and survive in this world. You can't fault a guy for that, can ya?"

Namorita has posed:
Nita smiles in return to the grimmace. "Then you won't mind going for a little walk with me and having a chat." she replies, with a bit of a head-tilt. "Listen, I'm not with Security and I'm not with the Police. But I -do- work with other authorities on occasion, who can make things quite uncomfortable for you."

She pauses a moment, then adds. "You were stupid enough to accept a drop in a museum, of all places. Now if you're passing cough syrup or ice cream, then our conversation will be short and pleasant. I'm guessing that it's not, and I'm perfectly willing to haul your ass out of here in an armlock."

Another pause, then the woman smiles again. "So just come along now. Please?"

Blackout has posed:
He looks around the room, seeing that this is the only way out and he also knows that escape will be hard for of who Nita is. He sighs and says, "Right... then lead on. But I gotta tell ya, it's not what you think."

Namorita has posed:
All the same, Nita grips his upper arm to lead him out of the museum. Her grip is strong, but not painfully so. "It never is." she replies in a low voice, leading him towards the door. Along the way, she asks casually. "So if this isn't what I think, would it be uncomfortable for you to tell me who -gave- you the package in the first place? Or would you just like to tell me what's inside first?"

Blackout has posed:
He doesn't struggle. Instead, he just walks with her. But she can tell that his skin is very warm inside his hoodie. Basilisk emits radiation when he wants to. Once outside, he says, "I can't tell you the guy's real name, but he's Blackout and he's doing charity work. The thing in the cyllinder is a radioactive isotope that I need."

Namorita has posed:
Nita can definitely feel the heat through the clothing, and she certainly knows what radiation is from her environmental work. Once outside she leads him just around the corner and turns to face him directly. Her mouth twitches into a small smile, and she nods. "A radioactive isotope could also be used to poison an entire city." she replies evenly. Fingers relax, however, and her hand drops away.

"I know of Blackout." she offers, reaching into her blazer to produce a business card. "I don't need to tell you to be careful with that, either. Take my card. And if you need help, call me." She pauses, then. "Also, if I even catch a rumor of things going wrong, don't make me track you down with a geiger counter. It won't be pleasant."

Blackout has posed:
He appears thankful, appreciative when Basilisk says, "Thank you. You won't regret this. The city isn't threatened. It's for me."

He takes the card. Looks at it, and pockets it into his hoodie. "I owe ya, Namorita. Thank you."
