Tinyplot: Coventry Murders

Lucifer has posed:
The group once again did not gather at Lux: so it's cold out, in the winter night. It made more sense to mobilize in parking structure of a closed shopping center in Coventry, to get everyone on the same page: particularly those that aren't on Bat communication channels.

Lucifer arrived there first, and despite the cold, is waiting outside of his car. He's approached swiftly by a woman in all black, her long back hair streaming in a mix of braids and loose strands behind her as she comes over to him. Her lower face is covered in a yellow mask, a short sword at her hip, gun at the other. She has a quiet conversation with a bored looking Lucifer, her head tilted to the side.

--

Elsewhere, four large vans have parked outside of the mortuary and funeral home. Greenwood is busy tonight: two huge funeral parties are there, everyone dressed in black. The place is parked in heavily with other vehicles and activity from the mourners, yet many of them are known faces of the missing and the lost: corpses occupied by demons.

Red Hood has posed:
The Red Hood is not far behind pulling up to Luci's wheels in an unmarked van, which really wasn't his style but how else are you going to bring all this kit?

Stopping he got out, and lifts a hand to Lucifer and his companion in greeting, "You must be Nora, right?" Red Hood asks the woman in the mask. He checks her out, eyes resting on the sword. "Nice blade," he remarks with a nod.

Then to Lucifer. "The others are on their way."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Similar to last night, the black Corvette that was more than meets the eye pulls up as well taking care not to block in any of the other vehicles. Kestrel steps out, and holds up dangling from her finger what appears to be a six pack of some canned beverage. "Red Bull anyone? Just in case we need a jumpstart." Even as she offers it around she approaches Lucifer, the woman, and Red Hood tipping a can back to chug herself.

"I'm used to late nights but that one was pretty darn late. Any updates on the situation?"

Spoiler has posed:
Alfred had been channeling his inner Bruce. Thankfully, Stephanie's stubborn streak that rarely seemed to matter with Bruce's decisions, was able to overcome Alfred's admonitions she should stay away from tonight and let her arm heal. The bite from the tiger had not been a trivial thing, and there were comments about, "If it had been any closer to the artery," and "almost to the bone".

Still, Batgirl kept a sling on it until she was a block away from the destination, pulling the replacement Batcycle over to a curb to remove it and give her elbow a little flex through its range of motion, testing the arm out. "Well it'll do. I mean how tough can the walking dead really be?" she comments to herself.

The motorcycle starts up again, the electric engine making a quiet but reassuring hum as she pulls up to where the others are. "Hope you haven't started the party without me," she says, climbing off the bike, its kickstand going down on its own without needing Batgirl's intervention. The blond glances over Lucifer's associates, though her eyes end up on him soon enough. She clears her throat and walks over, turning to look about the area rather than at their ally.

Misfit has posed:
Charlie is thrilled, thrilled to fucking death really, to be allowed to come along on this operation. I mean sure she has new equipment and has been training pretty relentlessly outside school hours with it all but this is the first operation she has been allowed to go on that wasn't what she calls mugger patrol.

Misfit slinks around from behind one of the concrete pillars of the parking structure and walks towards the others now, looking Lucifer and Nora over curiously as she does. "I'll take one for sure!" it isn't loud but man she sounds absolutely too chipper for meeting someone named Lucifer and potential Zombie Demons. Much too Chipper.

Lucifer has posed:
"Nora," Lucifer begins, without actually introducing her, "Has been doing some recon for us," he says, with a gesture to her. Noralzeen, the woman in black, looks darkly at Red Hood, her pale eyes flat, more like a corpse than a living thing. She folds her arms under her modest chest. She isn't armored: just in leathers, with a lot of straps that give it something of a fetishy feel. It's a bit too shiny, maybe. She ignores Red Hood's compliment.

"What've you brought?" Lucifer asks Jason, his eyes looking past Nora to the white van that Jason's pulled up.

Kestrel gets a brilliant, flirty smile from Lucifer, but he pulls a small flask out of his jacket pocket. "I'm self-sufficient," he winks, unscrewing the cap to have a drink. Because important missions are best done with alcohol in the system. Noralzeen watches Lucifer drink but makes no comment at all, she just observes the others with thinly veiled distain.

The chipper voice brings Lucifer's radiant smile towards the approaching Batgirl to heighten even more, taking in Misfit. Not to worry, he is extremely upbeat and chipper, too. Lucifer's smiles are infecting, his aura relaxing and comfortable. Surely everything will be great and everyone will have fun, his ambiance assures!

"So, before we go in, let's make sure everyone has something that can hurt a demon. What've we got?" Lucifer asks, clearing his throat and sending his gaze around the circle of gathering vigilantes.

Red Hood has posed:
When Red Hood had laid out this plan there had been a lot more counter measures in play, a wizard of their own, a Damian with his crystals, but he was determined to make do with what they had, after all they weren't entirely without toys.

"Hit me with one of those Red Bulls," Red Hood calls to Kestrel holding out his hand. Assuming he catches it he moves to the back of the van and throws open the doors.

"What did you find?" Jason asks Nora about the recon before he gets down to distributing the toys.

First up? A crate of little glass vials and black plastic guns. "Holy water in two convenient delivery methods, vials and electric squirt guns, got good range, and you don't have to pump them like a classic super-soaker type deal. These will hurt like," a faint smile comes through in his voice, "Excuse the expression, hell, but won't put them down for good, it's a good opening salvo, to make sure who you're dealing with is really a demon."

He sets the box down to let people arm up.

Second up? Two mine looking devices with bottles of water attached, "These are for area denial, or getting into a buildning's air supply, vaporized holy water, should drive them out of buildings or keep them out of areas we don't want them coming through, thank Nightwing for these, it was his idea."

Things must be serious Red Hood was giving Nightwing credit for something.

Third? He pulls forward a box of tasers, "Increased the voltage on these, they'll take down a demon, but you want to be sure of your target because it'll fry the heck out of a normal person."

Finally the big piece of gear, an EMP bomb, bolted to the bed of the van. "This is our ace in the hole," a nod towards Lucifer. "Except for him. EMP should give us about a hundred foot blast witfh the pulse distrupting the demon mojo like a taser. Only problem is, we need power for it, so we're going to need to hook it up to the mains which will /definitely/ get their attention. My plan is we hit their hidey hole with one of the vaporizers to draw them out, then we hit them with the holy water and shots to their legs, until we can get the EMP going and blast them. Once they're down we take the fight to Mom and let Lucifer do his thing."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Red Bull one is torn off to be flipped through the air toward Misfit with a simple, "Catch kiddo," offered as warning. The other is done similarily toward Red Hood as she flips her wrist to the side to send it in his direction barely bothering to look. She might not be the strongest, or the best fighter, but her *aim* was superb. Odd given she was the one with vision problems that required wearing contacts or prescription in her mask.

Noralzeen is regarded as she offers out a drink as well. "If you'd like. Not alcohol, but does the job for me."

"I didn't bring anything specific. Figured Hood's got a lot... Though they're not really human, right? Just dead bodies inhabited by the demons? Wouldn't shooting them in the face work?"

A glance is cast toward Jason as she shrugs. "I don't kill people but if they're already dead I can make an exception."

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl eyes Noralzeen, her expression friendly enough. The blue eyes are still hidden by her cowl, but not the blond hair that spills down to her shoulders. The young woman, the shortest there by about a half a foot, pulls out her staff which is currently retracted to a short baton length. "Blessed by a priest. Though, that took a lot of convincing."

She moves to her Batcycle and opens a storage compartment, pulling out a box. Her lips tighten as she lifts it with her left hand and gets a sharp twinge of pain that makes her quickly add her other hand to the grip.

Batgirl brings it over and opens it up, pulling out a small disk a little smaller than a hockey puck. "These are the ones we've been using to deliver Victor Fries's freezing fluid. They've all been blessed and filled with holy water instead," she says. "About a three foot radius, cloud dispersal," she says as she slips a few into waiting pouches in her utility garter on her leg. She also pulls out a batarang. "Electric payload greatly boosted. Same on the payload launcher." She looks to Lucifer. "Anything else that works well on them we should consider?"

Zachary Zatara has posed:
A glowing golden sphere appears in the parking lot of the shopping center, and Zachary Zatara steps out of it, in his typical attire. So tuxedo, bowtie, red-tipped coattails. He's horribly late, which should be criminal for a magician. "Bat people," He looks to Red Hood first, then the rest of the gathered vigilantes. "Lucifer," Noralzeen is briefly eyed up. "Demon."

"Right, we're going over weaponry, I'm guessing? Apologies for my tardiness, was looking over a few spells that may help us take this bitch down," He explains, hands moving as he speaks. A bit of sleight-of-hand, and there's a wand in his left. "I think I'm good."

Misfit has posed:
Misfit isn't the youngest... I mean okay she is the youngest so the Kiddo bit probably sticks. She is a few months younger than Damian even. "Thanks!"

She does catch the redbull and cracks it open taking a sip as she watches everyone else there, especially Red Hood with all the toys and gadgets. She seems to be taking things serious the way she is paying attention. Eyes Alert. "Okay so holy water gun .. which is a ridiculous thing I never thought I would say and then tasers or just tasers... " thinking on the loadout.

"I got Oracle to tweak up my electric bat-a-rangs and electric bolos too.. probably not as much juice as those suped up tasers but should do in a pinch." she then turns and blinks when Zach shows up with such a flashy ... entrance. "Uh.. woah...." then what he said sinks in and she pivots to look back at Noralzeen with a blink... .. Then she manages to look to Kestral and Red Hood. "So um... the people aren't alive... . what happens if demons explode.. I mean the demons possessing bodies.. the demons aren't.. like killed if the body is killed.. um.. again.. are they?"

Lucifer has posed:
"You have about a dozen humans in there. Sacrifice. I think a mass summon is going to happen, more powerful demons, summon circle, the usual, maybe lock the gate open," Noralzeen reports, dryly, her voice cold.

"That's unfortunate, we'll want to hurry to get in there before that mass murder. ...Oooh. Toys," Lucifer says, pleased. He's very hands on, and will show it as he squats next to the box, and looks at one of the spray-guns. He draws one of the vials, and actually twists it open, to look in it, and then tilts it to slosh a little over his left palm. "No, won't really harm them in a PERMANENT way, you won't see burnsI'd say, but should be repellent," Lucifer judges, screwing the vial closed again, and wiping his wet hand on his pants.

Lucifer goes for one of the tasers next, listening to Jason's instructions, picking one up. Without much warning he turns on his heels, still squatting, and fires it directly at Noralzeen. She drops to the ground with a snarling hiss, onto her butt on the concrete, twisting. Lucifer waits, looking at her expectantly. She shudders . "You are sometimes such a dick," Noralzeen says to Lucifer from the ground.

"Thank you," Lucifer beams at her, flattered.

"I think the main problem is going to be what are, essentially, the hostages. It is going to be chaos, I think." Lucifer returns the taser to the box. "They'll react to me, probably to scatter, maybe jump bodies or into objcts, maybe surrender. If they don't see me they'll fight, I expect, and try to kill you all." He looks at Noralzeen.

The demon Nora nods, picking herself up off the ground.

"If you destroy the corpse, they'll jump to another if they can. We want to block that, do some banishing or exorcisms without showing our hand that we /can/ do those things until we've found Gaulichu, AKA 'Mom'. The objective is to get HER."

Red Hood has posed:
Red Hood takes off his helmet when the gear demo is finished setting it down on the van before taking a long swig from the Red Bull can. As for his identity? Still covered by a slim domino mask. His mask are like those little Russian dolls, layer after layer...

Zach's arrival earns a smile from Jason, "Heya Zach, guess wizards really do arrive exactly when they mean to, huh?" he asks with a little shake of his head.

Then he dives into the strategy with both feet, seeing as people brought their own toys and that the holy water wasn't going to be quite as effective as he thought.

"Right, so priority one, get the hostages, priority two, get Mom. Zach, can you do anything to keep them from jumping bodies? That'd be a big help."

And none of their toys were going to jack to stop it on their own.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"I'll take some of the holy water stuff, Red," Kestrel responds as she reaches down to start loading up. "I'm better at long distance shots anyway. This'll be the easiest way to tell who's human and who isn't without harming anyone, after all. Should work on an exit strategy too for getting the civvies out."

Even as she's loading herself up with the sort of weaponry she'd often refused in the past, she glances over at Zach to give him a lopsided grin. "Ah, Zachary. Good seeing you again. And as always I feel under dressed around you. Between you and Lucifer with the suits..." Her head shakes quickly. Whatever she was going to say is left without being said further.

"Right, so. Give me a taser, too." She fishes around a moment in her belt to pull out a small handful of colorful pellets. "If we can figure out who she's in, I can nail her with one of these. Won't harm her but will leave a great big mark to tell who is who."

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie Brown looks over towards Zachary as he arrives, but isn't personally familiar with him so doesn't say anything at the moment. Batgirl walks over to where she can see the funeral home. "So, they can jump into other bodies in the funeral home. Not a great range on that I hope, not just... anywhere in the city for example?" she asks, looking back to Lucifer and Red Hood.

Her gaze goes back to their target, vision zooming in on her cowl to give her a better view. "So we need to keep them from just scattering. And need to keep them from getting back to bodies in the building. If we saturate the building with holy water, would that stop them from using those bodies?" she asks.

Still musing while she gets any answers to her questions. "So then we need to stop them from just scramming in normal fashion. Which... we either need to fence them in somehow. OR lure them to a place they can't get out of. I was thinking, if we had a decent enough material we could string something strong and conductive between vehicles to make a fence, electrify it all. The vehicles would be easy to drive into place to position it then, just would have to string between them. And, doing it without being seen. Unless we did that in some spot we prepared in advance?"

Zachary Zatara has posed:
"Zachary Zatara," The magician offers to Misfit, her reaction to his flashy display getting a board grin from the young man. He even gives a quick bow, before his pale green eyes dart back to Lucifer. "Stealth exorcisms?" Zatara spellcasting isn't exactly known for its subtlety. "Will your commands not affect her the way they do her underlings, Luci?" He asks the Devil, not too perturbed about Noralzeen's wellbeing at all.

"Precisely, Red," quips Zach, with a wink. "I can keep them busy, or contained. They will still be here, though. If the hostages are an issue, I can also go after them. Or the demoness herself. You didn't bring any bullets with you this time, did you?" They've already established that's not effective, but Zach has a silencer spell at the ready.

Kestrel gets a curious grin and a quirked brow. "That -is- the goal. Have we met?" Maybe at one of Zachary's rare stage appearances, or yanno, a charity ball, but certainly not with the cowl.

Misfit has posed:
"Okay.. so they just hop bodies..." Charlie is definitely thinking about something. "Which isn't the goal... so do we need to tazer and water them... or vice versa until we find the main demon lady and then we banish her?" her eyes behind the goggles are still pretty big.

She does step up to snag one of the waterguns and some of the vials and a taser though, clipping them to her utility belt and getting them all situated and useful. The gun put in a pouch for now.

More redbull is sipped now as she looks to the others, they have a lot more experience in hero stuff after all and Zach seems to be an honest to goodness wizard with a wand and not just a youtube hack.

She is a bit bouncy rocking on her heels as she watches and listens.

Honestly Misfit would be an excellent distraction with her one trick.

"Could we seal all but one of the doors shut and funnel the hostages out that way but keep the others in.. or can they just rip a door off with demon powers?" she is trying.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
The parking garage had enough places for a denizen of the night to hide. In this case, it was a perfect place to make an entrance. Above Zach, an inverted teenager looms, watching. It was a move Batman had done many times over, using the batclaw to anchor himself to the ceiling and watch upside down like a bat. "I have what you asked for, Red Hood." He comments, breaking the silence and allowing himself to be seen and heard.

In his hand is a large crystal, pulsing with red glowing energy. The batclaw is disengaged from the concrete, attached to Robin's utility belt, as the smallest Wayne landed on his feet. "Save me some holy water to bless this." He says, unsheathing his sword, no doubt making it an even deadlier weapon.

Lucifer has posed:
"The problem is I'm not sure what she'll do," Lucifer replies. "She's like a feral cat trapped in a corner. I //can// get her, if we can identify her. I'm not going to go in and try to command the whole place. That's how you get anyone that isn't in my vicinity running away instead. If I don't happen to come across Mom right off the bat, then we've just scattered demons instead of keeping them here in Coventry."

"What I'd like to do is engage them all somehow, in a way that doesn't scatter them: trapped, fighting, busy, whatever--- and send Noralzeen, maybe with one of you, to focus on finding her. She'll be with the sacrifice and hostages: the others won't have the skill to run a ritual. Nora is /here/ to identify demons, anyway. Her sole purpose in un-life." Noralzeen doesn't seem to care either way, she just stands there, hand on her weapon.

"I'll come in when she's found. Much as it frustrates me to sit out here." Lucifer siiiighs, very put-upon.

Red Hood has posed:
"Sure thing," Red Hood says sliding the box over to Carrie so she can arm up. He grabs one of the guns and slids it into a holster at the back of his belt.

"Not exactly stealth exorcisms, more like holding them in reserve until we've got a bead on Mom," Jason clarifies before Lucifer lays things out.

"Okay, my vote is that Kestrel goes with Nora to mark Mom, the rest of us take positions around the place to keep the demons contained like Batgirl suggested, not sure we can wire things for electricity, maybe just the doors? Either way, we're set, then when Mom is marked, we go in, provide cover to get the hostages out and pin down Mom so Luci can do his thing."

He pauses looking at one of the mines and tossing it to Misfit. "Actually one other thing, can you use your abilities to get up and put this in the air system? Should throw the demons into chaos and give us an edge."

Speaking of edges, in comes Robin. "Good timing," Red Hood says, grabbing some holy water to put on his blade. "Just keep that crystal in reserve, in case something goes wrong." Mainly if it turns out Nora and Luci can't be trusted.

"Oh, and so we can all coordinate," Jason reaches into his van of tricks and produces a couple of comms ear pieces. "Here," he says tossing one to Lucifer and the other to Nora.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Kestrel lightly pats over her sides taking in the new weight of the weaponry she'd loaded up with. It wasn't anything she couldn't handle. It was just different. One of these days she'd really have to see about upgrading her own weaponry past the Bat clan basics.

"Several times," she responds to Zach with an enigmatic grin. It wasn't often she got to pull that stunt of knowing someone's identity while they didn't know hers. "We can talk about that later. I'm Kestrel." At least this gives him a name to work with.

It's Misfit's questions that earn a small, thoughtful nod. "To be honest there's no telling how they're going to react. My suggestion is, if a body goes down that we know wasn't human? Make sure they can't get up again." As for the notion of electric fences, she nods toward Batgirl. "Could run some lines from the car through the area. Have to keep it running the entire time to keep the charge up though," she mumbles thoughtfully glancing back at the Corvette.

The sudden voice causes her to do a double-take up at Robin peering at him when the crystal is produced. Instantly her hand snaps up pointing at him, "Oh no. No, you tricked me into stabbing you with that last time, Robin, but you told me there's a fifty-fifty chance it'll kill you. Not unless we *really* need it."

With a sigh at having to pull the 'responsible adult' talk, again, she shakes her head. At least the suggestion of going in with Nora earns a nod. "Can do."

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl seems ready to go with Jason's plan. "I don't know if we can get the electric fence idea ready on this short of notice. However, our electric sticky bombs can go a long way at choke points. The only problem is living humans would be in trouble with the voltage cranked this high," she says, pulling her sticky-bomb launcher from her utility belt for emphasis.

Batgirl glances at Nora for a moment, studying her. "And, if Nora is like the others, then they have body heat so we won't be able to use thermal vision to tell humans from demons," she says, glancing back to Lucifer so if she is wrong on that he can point it out.

"Alright. Though I'm worried whether we have enough to contain them when they come out. We might want to get a diversion set up outside to draw them and keep them there? Maybe pretend to be setting something up. Grab a satellite dish off a house and some wiring and a car battery? Something for them to assault rather than scattering?" If that seems like something the group wishes to go with, she'll go gather what's needed. Even if it means the Joneses miss Survival 152: Poughkeepsie tonight.

Misfit has posed:
Misfit has an assignment and she looks absolutely thrilled about it. "Yeah I can definitely do that." she looks the holywater dispersal mine over and then tucks it in the big thigh pouch on her costume. "Just tell me on the comms when to unleash the distraction and I'll set it off in their HVAC system..."

She is already thinking about removing the filters first and well the thing should be running heat because Gotham is chilly this time of year at night.

She fades back a few steps and looks towards Robin and his crystal, yeah she has no idea what that is all about really. Kestral seems pretty much upset at the whole idea though so she files that away.

Zachary Zatara has posed:
"Ayy, fearless leader has arrived," Zachary salutes, bring his wand to his brow, in mock attention. "That the thing that turns you into a Super Robin?" He asks, pointing to the red crystal. A hand on his hip, he looks to Misfit, with an amused smile. "My entrance was better, right?"

The mage receives Carrie's mysterious response with an easy shrug and a flashy smile, as if running into people who know him but not the other way around happens all the time. "Later, then." He nods, turning to listen to the tactical planning. It's not his specialty, strategically thinking. He fishes out a pair of white gloves and fits his hands into them, instead.

Lucifer has posed:
"I feel like a /secret agent/," Lucifer says playfully, as if he were having a fun costume for Halloween. He examines the earpiece and hooks it on over his ear, and straightens up. It gives him something of a 007 vibe. It's due to the fancy suit, charisma, and sly grin. And that he lofts brow at Batgirl.

Noralzeen, the demoness, puts her earpiece on as well, but remains silent. She looks at Kestrel, though, and stalks over towards her, visually examining Kestrel over the yellow mask that covers her lower face. "Spray me with that holy shit and we'll have a problem," Noralzeen coldly informs Kestrel. Best friends already.

"Noralzeen isn't the same type as they are," Lucifer corrects for Stephanie. "The other ones should be colder than most people, as they were corpses. And .... Ugh, I'm with the /van/, aren't I," Lucifer complains, but moves one hand in a 'rally up' circular motion. "Let's get on with it, no time like the present to finally get this over and done with."

--

Prepared and with everyone having their assignments, they separate, into the various locations around the mortuary home.

The area around it is still heavily parked, but many of the 'mourners' have gone inside. There are six people in various black suits and dresses, all of them smoking, in the front area. Windows into the front lobby of the mortuary shows it to be crowded, and speech happening in low voices in clumps of people. It doesn't look too out of the ordinary: the demons are getting better, much better, at blending in.

The building isn't some kind of stronghouse, so there's multiple entrances and exits around the place, including from the garage and the larger rooms on that side of the property. There's a big yard in back, two rooms for viewings, and facilities for other mortuary needs.

"If somebody gets a big crew of demons, you can bring them out to me, but I don't want to make a big show of exorcisms early," Lucifer comments onto the comms, while he takes a grumpy seat in the van down the block, putting his feet up on the dashboard.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason is crouched by one of the back entrances, where he's wired his taser to the door after dialing down the voltage a bit just in case a civilian grabs the handle before a demon does.

<< Roger that. >> he replies to Lucifer as he checks over his weapons. << Misfit, Kestrel, Nora, time to do your thing >> he says before carrying on. << Zach, if you can mess with their ability to jump bodies, now would be a good time, Robin, Batgirl, take up positions and get ready to move when Nora and Kestrel have marked Mom..."

There's a faint smirk in his voice as he adds the final bit of instructions: << Luci... just keep being you, and we'll bring anyone we can handle to you. >>

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Robin grabs the tossed holy water, dousing his blade in it, and saving the rest. The crystal placed in a pouch on his belt.

"Back when it was not a known variable, it was a fifty-fifty chance. But now it -is- a known variable, and reasonably safe. Science, Kestrel. We cannot push the bounds of our limits without taking risks." He says plainly, he was as comfortable with stabbing himself this time anyway. "So, holy weapons. Demons and such. Are we sure this isn't Infinity Island?" His mother's home was very much like this, when they were not making political assassinations.

  ----

Damian makes his way up to post where he can see everything. <<Posted, awaiting the beacon.>> He comments, setting up and scanning the area below, finger on his mask's side, zooming where needed.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Kestrel sighs quietly at the 'assurance' from Damian. "Just be careful." It's all she can really offer. Time was of the matter now. She lifts an eyebrow at Nora when she mentions the holy water, only to offer an indifferent shrug. "I hit my targets," is her only reply. Neither saying she would or wouldn't. Sure wouldn't be an accident if she did... But knowing her she wouldn't. Now was not the time to bicker over personalities though: She gets to the location with Nora and starts as most bats do: Up high.

"<<Any tell tale signs for big bad momma that would help us figure it out?>> Of course whoever was talking might be a good indicator as she quietly finds a window and slips inside bringing the demonic woman with her.

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl says into her comms, << Alright then thermal vision is it to help with identifications. >> She moves towards the front of the funeral home, moving up onto the roof of a nearby building. << Tagging their vehicles with sticky shockers. If they try to use them to escape they can be activate to disable the vehicles. >>

She takes aim, deploying the little sticky payloads one per car. She normally would have enough of them, but then her loadout heavily favors electric-based weaponry for this particular mission.

One shot after another lands on a car. One misses, sticking to a curb and getting a soft swear word going out over comms before Batgirl tags the car she missed.

<< Ok vehicles are tagged. Watching the front now. If you want me to set up this satellite dish device as a distraction just call it Red Hood. >>

Zachary Zatara has posed:
<<Not all at once, Red,>> Zachary replies via comms. He is situated high above the scene, on a floating levitation disc. It's easier than trying to fly, and gives him an ariel view on the situation. He brings his wand forward, watching the overs move into action. <<If you engage them, in groups or individually, I will block their jump, as they try too.>>

Misfit has posed:
Misfit cocks her head a bit to the side as everyone starts to scatter. She taps her goggles bringing up the map of the place and everyones location in a tiny view in the corner of her vision. Then adjusts her goggles to swap to thermal vision overlay as well.

Then she vanishes with a slash of pink and purple smoke >pinkurple> .. just one moment she was there and the next heartbeat she appears on the roof of the mortuary and funeral home, ducking low and looking around fast to determine if she is alone up there or not.

Zachary and Lucifer for certain get a twang of chaos magic from her when she does that, lords of chaos variety stuff the opposite of Dr. Fate's type of magic.

She quickly makes her way to the HVAC unit, a cutter already in her hands so she can remove the grate covering it and fish out the filters as well. Planning to lob the holywater aerosal thing right into the duct system it seems like Red Hood asked if unimpeded.

If there are demon senry types on the roof.. well... this will go a very different direction quick.... and luckily that seems to not be the case. She works as fast as she can.

Lucifer has posed:
Somebody inside the main mortuary building must have said something hilarious, because a lot of laughter bubbles out of the place. It doesn't mesh with the serious, somber tone of the place of saying farewell to the beloved departed. Part of it is that it wasn't really a good laugh.

The group of six in the front that were smoking pause, looking around. Maybe they sensed something. One of them starts towards one of the cars, trying to peer at it carefully. The deployments weren't absolutely silent, and they are clearly on guard.

<< I don't suggest yelling 'Gaulichu' and seeing who turns around, they probably will ALL look at you. So no, I lack in bright ideas, >> Lucifer replies to the question.

There aren't, at least, people on the roof, but Misfit can hear conversations below: the place is not insulated.

"I don't see why she's bringing THEM in. We're doing fine," mutters voices, as two men talk before one reaches for the door directly next to Jason's setup. Jason has exactly one second to decide if he's going to leave the taser active to fry whoever it is, or not ....

Red Hood has posed:
<< Noted Batgirl >> Red Hood says turning on his thermoptics casting the lot around the funeral home in rainbow hues. << Good work on the cars. Wait one on the distraction. >>

He draws two of his pistols, one real one water gun, and stands by the rigged door.

<< Roger that, Zach >> he says. << Keep your eyes on the fight, don't wait on us to call out for you to do your thing. >>

<< Robin, Misfit, Batgirl, we're all a go when Kestrel and Nora find their mark. >>

Of course he isn't aware of the demons clueing into things out front. So that might change the game plan a little bit.

Lucifer has posed:
The man on the other side of Jason's door, as the door still has a taser attached, grabs onto it, and immediately is struck by the electrical hit. With a yowl and hiss, he's making a lot of noise, jerking the door towards him with a muscular spasm while others inside orient in surprise.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Kestrel continues further in trying to keep to the shadows and rafters of the building as much as possible. Even in a mortuary house, given this was a 'working' one that processed bodies as well as held funerals, it allowed her to slip enough inside that she makes it to one of the viewing rooms that was currently empty.

Crouching near the doorway she flicks out a little mirror which she holds down low to the ground to peer around the edge getting a view of the other room where she heard voices. A slow frown creeps over her, and she glances toward Norazeen uncertainly. <<We're inside. There's a lot of people here, but... I don't see hostages. It looks more like a party. No one seems like they don't fit in here.>>

Spoiler has posed:
Maybe it's last night's encounter that takes Batgirl's thoughts this way, but as the guards out front start to look about one moves towards the cars, she brings up something to hopefully let them write the sounds off to. Batgirl pulls out a holoemitter she's used in the past for a distraction. Not needing anything so fanciful, she just makes use of its speaker.

Pulling up some preloaded sounds, she plays the sound of a cat meowring a bit unpleasantly, then turns it back off, hoping the other noises get attributed to the cat. Just to be safe, she holds her extendable staff in one hand, and gets a batarang ready with the other.

The activity in the house isn't noticed yet as Batgirl stays hidden for the moment.

Misfit has posed:
Misfit quietly murmers over the comms, subvocal mics and all that fancy bat-tech. << There is some discontent with their boss lady bringing in more demons it sounds like. Pride is a sin right. >>

With that bit of intel she finishes removing the stuff in the way of just dropping the dispersal unit into the HVAC ducts... the button is pressed to arm the modified mine and she drops it .. letting it clang into the duct system but it can't be helped.

<<Bombs literally away....>>

It will start spraying aerosal'd holy water into the air system now... probably not as effective as a direct vial or a squirtgun to the snoot but liable to mess with them a bit or perhaps impede hellish magic.

She isn't about to leap in until someone calls for help or someone orders her to engage really.

Red Hood has posed:
<< Keep searching, they've got to be in there somewhere >> Red Hood says in a low voice to Kestrel as the door rattles and jerks behind him.

His mind races connecting his current situation and Kestrel and Nora needing to get deeper into the building.

<< Screw it, lets have some fun >> he points his real gun down at the base of the door and fires a couple of rounds into it aiming more for noise and bullets hitting floors and walls rather than maiming, before he sprints head long across the parking lot hoping to be bringing some demons out with him.

With Misfit's bombs away comment, it was clear things were going to happen fast. << Screw it, everyone move in and engage when you've got an opening >>

Lucifer has posed:
<< Fun...? You know, I'm your best weapon, really. I shouldn't just stay out in the van, >> Lucifer comments, as if just /now/ he was deciding this. Entirely based on his boredom, it sounds like. He's not content to just listen to the comms....

"Did he just have a seizure?" mocks one of the other demons as the electrocuted one reacts. They collect near him, interested and curious, but not upset or alarmed. Two of them step over him to go outside. They have weapons: guns, but they aren't holding them yet. A third comes out with gun in hand right behind them, though, scowling. A familiar face, she's from the sorority group, and has a short black dress on, which may explain why she's holding her gun instead of having it tucked somewhere. Jason's shots impact near them as they emerge, and they fly into action quickly, rushing into the back yard. They stand where they are to shoot, though, lighting up the area around Jason.

So far, no one is yet reacting to Misfit's bomb: it will take some time for the mist to disperse into the rooms. There's gunfire now, too.

On the lawn, one of the guards slowed, listening to the cat sound. He doesn't continue to search, but he does stand there, listening closely, on alert. It was probably a cat, but he's going to keep close watch. "Do you have a light?" asks one of the other guards. Then they hear the gunfire, and turn that way. "No, could be a distraction," snarls the front guard. He's good at his job.

Noralzeen grabs at Carrie's arm, and pulls at her to try to get her out of the doorway. Noralzeen lances her sword out suddenly, spearing a woman that comes in silently through the side of the head. She then does an 'after you' motion to Carrie, and then points to the left. << Inside. Embalming room. I sense power there,>> Noralzeen says to Carrie. << I will guard this hall. Go.>>

Noralzeen moves away from Carrie, and melts into the shadow of the hall partially, a creepy demonic spider.

Ahead of Carrie is the heavy door, unlocked and slightly ajar, leading to the embalming suites. A peek inside will show about a dozen people: all of them human except for one. There are also four corpses. "---and we'll revive the fallen, your fallen loved ones, together, as you've seen," says the older woman in the back, comforting one of the weeping humans. Until the gunshots cause all of them to look around, alarmed.

Red Hood has posed:
Guns why'd it have to be guns. Jason rushes head long away from the door as the two men and the sorrority girl light up the area around him with gunfire. He dives, a bullet smacking into the armour on his back, rolls over a car and comes to a stop against its tire.

He could feel the bullet didn't get through but it still /hurt/ like someone took a baseball bat to his shoulder blade.

"Shake it off..." he says breathing through the pain.

Then he pops up using the car for cover, one quick glance giving him a view of his targets, then one, two, three. he fires in quick succession taking out their knees.

<< Come on down Lucy >> Jason calls. << Got us a way in around back, three down with guns that need to be sent home. >>

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Kestrel is pulled back just in time for the woman that was walking down the hall to get skewered by Noralzeen. She sucks in a quick breath, then simply nods at the demon in silent thanks. There was no time to really express gratitude given the situation. "Right," is all she whispers in response as she heads down the hall as guided. Power, eh?

Ah. That's why there were no 'victims' hanging about. Carrie readies her weapon which wasn't much of a weapon as she prepares to kick in the door to take her shot. Just by the sound of the voices inside alone she could tell what was going on.

<<They've convinced their hostages that they'll raise their loved ones if they help that's why no one is freaking out.>>

At least not until she shoulders the door open with arms swinging out to fire off a shot right at 'Mom' in the chest. The paint pellet smacks into her leaving a large splatter spot of bright neon yellow which would be easy to pick out as it practically glows on it's own under the lighting.

<<Got her!>>

And that's the last heard from Kestrel as all hell, almost literally, breaks loose sending her scurrying back down the hall as she tries to swap weapons out from the 'tag' sort to the 'actually fight' sort.

Spoiler has posed:
Batgirl has twice now sat around making plans instead of just winging it. If this doesn't get her on the positive side of Oracle's naughty or nice list, nothing will. But hearing Red Hood's call to get to it gives her a big grin.

<< Now we're talking my language! >>

Batgirl darts forward towards the 6 guards. She whips her batarang which flies through the air and hits the guard who was smart enough to hold his post. A bright light flares as the batarang's electric payload zaps him and he collapses, writhing.

A smoke bomb clatters on the front walk between the others as Batgirl tries to level the odds, relying on her hopefully superior optics. Her staff extends to normal length and begins whapping demons on the heads, wrists and ankles. Two are hobbled for the moment and one loses his gun. The other two start firing at the image moving through the smoke.

A demon who lost his gun suddenly lunges up in the smoke and grabs Batgirl! He throws her, the blond's body arcing through the air to bounce off a parked car and land on the concrete on the far side.

"Wanna squish your head," he says as he heads towards where Batgirl landed. He hurries to slide across the hood of the car Batgirl bounced across. "Whoever gets your body will just have to deal-"

His words are cut off as Batgirl activates the electric sticky bomb on the car. Current arcs from the hood into the demon's body and he falls off the car face first onto the concrete.

"Wanted to be part of Hell's army, did you? Consider your discharged," Batgirl quips as she hobbles back to her feet.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
That was about all Damian needed to jump in. A quick zip line, and Robin runs to the rooftop, and with two batarangs, shatters the skylight into the viewing room. His cape billows out to soften the landing, and the scalloped edge is reminiscent of Batman himself.

But the Bat does not use a sword like he does. The blade sings as it is removed from the scabbard at his back, he starts on the hacking and slashing. Combat was Damian's bread and butter, bloodshed was his comfort. With two hands on the katana, he slashed with the practiced expertise of the League's Master Assassins. The howls of demons that are touched by the sword are horrific, but nothing Damian cannot overcome.

The demons react to it by backing off, instead of getting angry and attacking more. Though their distance makes them shoot more, and regardless of the armor under his tunic, getting shot still hurts.

Four shots through the chest are stopped by his armored suit, which only serves to make Damian angrier. He runs and kicks the gun that had been aimed at him while on the landing, thrusting his sword into the clavicle area, aiming to hurt as much as possible. He wanted to torture these creatures, make their pain glorious.

Misfit has posed:
Misfit quietly considers << Does that tag dye have a tracking agent in it? >> okay she is curious, checking the HUD on her goggles.

Then she gives a bit of a shrug and doesn't wait for the answer. She has what she needs really as she runs towards the side of the building where there is gunfire and vanishes as she leaps off the roof.

It looked like Red Hood had the gunners on him kind of under control and honestly Charlie doesn't want to go into hand to hand while he is shooting that direction

The teenager reappears a moment later with all her momentum in the hallway with Kestral. Ducking to one side and well the point was to go in as soon as the target was tagged right.

Crud maybe she wasn't paying attention... anyhow she knows one point was to remove the hostages so she fires some holywater squirtgun streams into the big bad and hostage room. Cover fire perhaps. "Everyone out!"

Lucifer has posed:
<< Just a minute, I can't be everywhere,>> Lucifer answers Jason. He's saying that because he's in the front, catching up to Batgirl, and offering her hand up off the pavement. "Good catch on these. Go in, I'll clear these ones, and go to Red Hood's," Lucifer tells her, turning slowly to the six guards in the front. They had started to come forwards, one of them firing a gunshot, then they stop, and stare at Lucifer instead, stopped in place.

Noralzeen joins Carrie in the hallway, sticking to her now. She'd started to go into the big bad room, until Misfit starts unloading the holy water. With a stream of some other language (profanity) Noralzeen dodged back and sideways, disgusted, and glowering. Inside the room, the humans look more confused about being sprayed with water than anything else. 'Mom' isn't visible, possibly ducked down behind one of the bodies or tables. "What's going on?" asks one of the girls, who then screams, falling to the floor next to a table. "Polly?" her father asks in fear. "Polly!?!" Chaos in the ranks of the (wet) humans now.

Damian's group of demons are conversing in a language Damian doesn't know: they're coordinating, and begin to adjust how they fight. They finally all converge, intending to physically just overwhelm him zombie-style, or force him out the window: either one. Many of them are injured, some collapsed and not able to fight, but their numbers should matter, right?

In the back yard: "Hereeeee little battie battie," singsongs one of the women, running spryly over the grass to try to shoot under the car, low, at Jason, while staying moving. She's having funnnn.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Shit," Kestrel utters when the water starts to spray through the fire extinguisher system. Reaching down to her belt she whips out a peice of plastic that she snaps open with a quick flick of her wrist before draping over Noralzeen's head. It was just a simple plastic rain poncho, but perhaps it would help by offering some protection. She should have given it to her before this.

"They aren't your loved ones! They're demons pretending! Get out while you can!" She calls back over her shoulder at the confused humans within. "We'll clear the way!" At least, that's the plan. By now she's got out one of the super tasers in one hand as she makes it to the end of the hall. Hopefully everyone was running enough now she could just do as she'd said.

Just as she turns a corner though there's an unpleasant crack across her face from a demon swinging a chair at her. It sends her head reeling back, the visor of her mask cracked, and she stumbles. It doesn't stop her from releasing the taser though which jolts into the woman stending her spasming in response.

<<FUCKING-- Blinded!>>

Zachary Zatara has posed:
<<It does now,>> informs Zachary to Misfit, on the comms, hoping to get heard over the chaos. The young Zatara joins the fold, encased in a golden bubble and above the general fighting. The eldritch field will deflect bullets, for the time being, unless a great deal of the ranged zombies concentrate aim at him. <<She's fleeing, but I'm casting a spell that will make her stand out, even if she hops.>>

Outloud, he utters an echoing incantation, "Klats reh luos," Wherever the demon goes, that bright white light that emits through the mass of bodies should follow. <<That should last for, like, five minutes.>>

Red Hood has posed:
<< Glad someone's enjoying this clusterfuck >> Red Hood quips at Batgirl's enthusiasm. << Everyone partner up if you can, or keep each other covered and let's get Mom! >>

Red Hood was doing his best with the leader thing, but it didn't come natually he was more of a solo act.

<< Luci, I don't /want/ you everywhere, I want you out back, damn it >>

The first of the woman's shots ring out and Red Hood growls, << Nevermind I've got this, you do you. >>

Two could play the shoot under the car game, Red Hood waits for the girl to be reloading then he flops over onto his side, firing under the car at her legs. He doesn't stop though, once he's fired he rolls, gets to his feet, and then leaps over the car, still firing low aimed at the knees, trying to take her legs out before he closed and tried to disarm her.

Misfit has posed:
Crud Kestral got clocked ..

Misfit stops firing holywater into the room and soaking the poor people but.. it should theoritically make it easier to tell dripping non-pained hostages from Demons right.

"What she said... come on out of there... we will clear path but you need to get out of this building right now." she runs to catch up with Kestral, glancing to make sure she isn't down and out. She even gives a game kick to the spasming demon on the ground and waving people towards them before turning to run down the hallway again.

The girl seems to not be worried about running right into danger or another chair to the face.. heading towards the nearest exit with hopefully ducklings.

Which doesn't stop her from getting shot right in the chest armor with an uFFFf... and she flings a shock-a-rang in return.

"I... ok.. it is sa..." more shots and Charlie ducks back. "Son of a biscuit..." holding a hand up to any of the hostages who followed her. "One sec."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian removes the sword from the demon, waving the katana around to scare the demons inside, he's corralling them.

Robin makes room to move, waving that katana around where he needs to, slashing when he can to hit a demon, the shrieking confirming the holy water coating had done its job. A nearby cart with beverages is approached, and the boy looks at the pitchers of various refreshments. A swift kick to the cart knocks the whole thing over. Ice and water and tea spilling and soaking the demons approaching him like a zombie mob, and the floor below.

"That is not holy water, whelp!" Screams one of the demons, the group slightly confused at the actions of Robin.

Spoiler has posed:
"Nope, but it sure makes a great conductor," Batgirl says from the doorway, a taser in each hand which is unloaded into the wet puddle soaking the demon's feet.

Current arcs about, frying the group and causing them to fall, only increasing their contact with the massive electric voltage being pumped out by the tasers. Batgirl flashes a grin to Robin for the team action.

-- Moments earlier --

After electrocuting the demon with the car and sticky payload, Batgirl had taken the offered hand and Lucifer's help getting to her feet. The guard demons had stopped firing at her now that he's there, and so there was a moment for Batgirl to bask just a bit from the compliment. "Thank you," she said, giving him the big version of her smile that includes a glimpse of white teeth.

Stephanie heard her teammates over comms and that stirred her out of her revelry. "Right, good luck," she told Lucifer before rushing into the house.

Within, a pair of demons accosted her in the hallway. Quick movements of her blessed staff took them off their feet, and electric batarangs stabbed into their bodies incapacitated them. At which point Batgirl saw Robin facing the large number of demons and pulling her tasers, headed for the room.

Lucifer has posed:
There's a huge, magical glow on the floor of the embalming room, blinding and strange, as the Zatara casts, and the spell loops the room, trying to find purchase on the stealthy soul it's after.

"Daddy!" Polly yells, leaping towards her father, terrified. He snatches her up, and they try to flee the embalming room, along with the other humans, clearly believing a Bat-sidekick when they hear one. "Batman's here, baby," Polly's dad tells her, comforting. A woman in front of them braves the holy water, rushing forwards to try to follow Carrie's orders, expecting her and Misfit to clear the way. People of Gotham know their heroes.

Zatara's glow, though, is now in the middle of the hostages, moving with them in the confused rush. Mom is with them.

"Nooooope," the demon says to Jason outside, dodging around. A bullet nicks her shin, and with a snarl, she approaches the car and kicks it HARD. The car rocks sideways, as she aims her gun underneath, expecting to see her prey exposed. She wants to shoot HIS legs, and aims there. See how he likes it.

<< Did I just hear you want me in back? It's nice to hear I'm wanted, but I already know >> Lucifer teases. The six people in the front collapse where they stand, and Lucifer's moving, to the back yard now, with a suddenness that's totally unnatural, not that there are any witnesses (which is part of why he does it freely). He'll appear on the other end of the back yard, near the writhing demons Jason had shot the legs out of. Those demons go limp.

Inside, well. There aren't a lot of demons left in fighting shape, and those that remain are the more prudent ones. They use things like cover (using other demons' bodies), and are yelling in their weird demonic language towards where Mom was. Orders, please?...

Lucifer has posed:
Noralzeen was stuck under the raincoat, angry and frustrated at all of the holy water use. She stayed well away from the zone of electricity. Instead, she fell back into the embalming room, and started to remove the heads and limbs of the corpses there, reducing 'jump' spots.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
<<Making my exit, guys. I can see enough to get around but my aim is shot,>> Kestrel sends over the comms. <<Spare glasses are in the car.>> Go figure. She knew she should have worn her contacts today... but nooo. She glances back to Misfit giving her a nod as she states, "Up to you here. Get them out safe. I'm a liability right now." Which is why she makes for the nearest window, making sure to relay her position and WHAT she was heading for.

<<Misfit's got the hostages, but Mom's hiding with them. She's a kid with her dad... Good luck with that one guys. I'm out of comission.>>

Red Hood has posed:
<< Roger that, Kestrel, out back is almost clear >>

That's when one of the rounds hits him int he leg and he goes down on one knee. The ballistic solvent he'd sprayed his pants with stopped the round from breaking the skin but the pants were still pants and the kinetic impact goes right through.

<< Son of a bitch >> he curses over comms. << No. Just make that bitch. >>

This time he's not aiming for the legs, two rounds are aimed at her head two more are aimed at her hand trying to blind her and blast the gun away from her.

<< Someone get Mom to Lucifer ASAP >> he calls out over comms.

Zachary Zatara has posed:
<<I've got her eyes on her, Kestrel,>> Zachary relays on the comms. Technically, it's a lie. His gaze is focused through the wall, in the general location of where Lucifer has done his exorcisms and continues to radiate intense magical energy. Using that as a center of focus, the teleportation spell will be easy. <<Seperating her from her family now.>>

    "Dnes reh ot reh drol."

Polly's father will find that the corpse masquerading as his daughter vanishes.

Misfit has posed:
Misfit gave a nod to Kestral "On it."

The teenager meanwhile peeks out at the gunfire when it pauses and ducks back again. "One more sec" to the hostages she was helping with. Keeping them in the hallway out of harms way. <<Two.. wait what...>> glancing briefly at the hostages and the 'kid' with them. <<Going to try to get them all out in a herd I guess>>.

She steps around the corner vanishing and appearing behind one of the demons that were firing at her keeping them in the hallway.

Demon #1 there gets tazered in the base of the skull. Super Effective.

Demon Two shoots the teen with his shotgun, total disregard for his companion being tazed. Though luckily she just takes a bunch of buckshot to her cheek and armored cowl, one lens of her goggles has a shot lodged in it but not through it.

Which means while she squirtguns that jerkface in his jerkface she misses Zach's magic trick.

Dangit.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian gives a smirk before continuing on. <<Batgirl and I have the demons, we will cover.>>

Robin pumps his gauntlet, the PEPS launcher barrel popping out of the gauntlet, ready to work.

The smallest Robin hustles to where he can get at the new batch of demons to stop. Robin shoots the PEPS gun and stops one demon in its tracks, using his sword to keep others at bay for now. Who would have thought holy water would work like that?

Spoiler has posed:
As the humans are led out, Batgirl works with Robin, flashing in and out of doorways, flanking the group to protect them. A demon gets kneecapped though he unloads his gun right into Batgirl's chest, drawing a yelp of pain from the impact though her body armor is up to the task. An electric batarang is stabbed into his mouth as Batgirl moves on.

A pair of demons lean around a door frame to point guns towards the group, but Batgirl sends a pair of what used to be freeze-discs sliding across the floor towards them. They release their payload of holy water, causing the two demons to writhe as Batgirl plants her staff and uses it to vault over the ducking hostages and knock the two demons back.

One rises up, shrieking in pain. He rushes Batgirl, tackling her into the wall which both of them break through, falling into the other room. Batgirl gives a cry of pain, the demon's hand around her left forearm. "Oh, that hurts does it!?" he snarls as he squeezes on the tiger bite, breaking the wound open again. Batgirl grabs one of the holy water discs and slams it into his mouth, breaking his teeth. The demon writhes as the holy water is injected down his esophagus, leaving Stephanie to writhe for a moment on the ground before dragging herself back to her feet.

Lucifer has posed:
Mom was freely escaping with the hostages in the uproar. It wasn't great, but she was getting away. Great. She found a good host, and was ready to stab Polly's father and take him over, if needed.

But then Polly teleported to the back yard via the Zachary Express, and falls into the grass with a flump. Her blonde hair is a mess of blood at her neck as she looks up sharply, orienting fast. Zach fed her to the Beast, though.

"Gaulichu."

Lucifer's not smiling, which is perhaps a little surreal: he hasn't broken his cheerful countenance before where these particular allies have seen him. Lucifer's horrifying when his smile drops away. The smile of rainbows and pleasantness. He strides over to the girl that got dumped onto the lawn. Jason's the only one at the current angle that will get a full look at Lucifer, probably. Lucifer's eyes have switched entirely out of human ones. His eyes are chillingly Devil, their energy pulling from somewhere deeply gut-wrenching. It's a gaze that peels a soul from a body and judges it for punishment. It's on Gaulichu for now.

The girl, maybe eight or nine, crawls backwards slowly, avoiding Lucifer's gaze. "My lord. You basically invited us here," Gaulichu's small little-girl voice answers. "Why else would you help a human?" barters Gaulichu. "We thought it was okay," wheedles Gaulichu.

"You know the ban. And the consequences," states Lucifer. He says a few more things, switching into the tongue the demons were using inside, sounds like. There's a shriek for mercy, before Lucifer seizes Gaulichu's throat, and pulls up and backwards. A shadowy, splintering disgusting twist of the air, and some unnatural soul-like /thing/ is yanked forwards out into the air. Twisting and dissolving, like a fish without water, it slowly churns in horrible pain. It pulses, limbs and torso squeezing, slowly turning inside out, unable to survive outside of the body. Lucifer watches calmly, eyes an orange and yellowed inferno as the thing suffocates slowly.

When the thing disappears, Lucifer's back to normal, but doesn't move, he remains there, thoughtful and quiet.

Demons in the back yard collapse. Those inside, contained by Zach's magic and fought with the weapons, also give way. Their connection to their mistress is severed, and they lack power.

<< It's done. She's banished. I've got a bit more punishment to execute on her, and those she was summoning. I'll leave this to you. >> Lucifer says into the comm, before he pulls it from his ear, putting it away into a pocket. He steps back, and suddenly is gone, in a sense of something flapping, and motion too fast for eyes to entirely take in.

Red Hood has posed:
One moment Jason's all about shooting down this troublesome demon woman, but then he sees /that/. What Lucifer did, gets a glimpse of what the usually happy-go-lucky club owner really is...

He barely notices his weapon click empty, the demon woman with the gun's body flops destroyed to the grass her spirit free to grab a new body or flee to whatever corner of the world she might think would be safe from Lucifer.

Jason bets wherever she goes, it won't be far enough.

Almost forgetting his wound Jason tries to get to his feet and almost topples to the grass, his second try though is successful and he puts his empty weapon back in his holster.

<< Confirmed. Mom's down. Ensure the hostages are safe and withdraw >> Jason... sounds rattled. Which is definitely a new one.

He makes sure the yard is secure then, without looking at the body of what was once Polly, he falls back and limps clear of the area.

Misfit has posed:
Charlie honestly looks confused as the one she just hit in the face with a tazer after squirting him (also in said face) collapses boneless. "Huh..." she glances at the tazer and then gets the Mom's down message over the comm. "Oh."

She wipes some blood off her damaged cheek and sighs stepping towards the hostages in the hallway there, vanishing and appearing at the front of the hall.

The damage to her cheek is gone, though her cowl is still scored and there is a shot still embedded in her goggles, also some blood. "Okay everyone.. coast is clear... get a move on now.... hustle hustle...." and she starts herding those hostages with help maybe.

If the dad is panicking Charlie waves points her squirtgun at him "Get a move on Mr."

Spoiler has posed:
<< Ok I... ->BAM!<- ... am on my way... ->POW!!<- ... out. >>

The sounds of a bo staff thudding on flesh can be heard coming over Batgirl's comms. There's another sound of something smashing. And then a male voice is picked up saying, << Not in the coffin! >> and then a sound of a loud thud and then wood slamming on wood. Repeatedly.

Finally all is silent over her comms. << Yeah. So. Sleeping in tomorrow. Just saying it now. >>
