Synopsis: Lorna and Kitty have a chat now that Lorna has returned from Brazil.
Cast of Characters: Polaris, Shadowcat

Polaris has posed:
Lorna had just returned from her week long vacation in Brazil. She had left her cell phone behind in the Mansion, everything and anything digital, and was as a result very far behind on updates and the news of anything going on. She hadn't made it far in unpacking the single backpack she'd brought back, and ended up sitting on the edge of her bed, scrolling endlessly through her phone to catch up.

It was some hours ago now, and she sat with her legs folded beneath her, her hair tied back and her hair pulled up into a messy bun. Still, at least Blink had brought her back and word had gotten out to the rest of the Mansion that the green haired Princess had returned. Not that she'd actually ventured beyond her room just yet.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde heard that Lorna was back. Her friend's arrival after being gone for a time would be plenty of reason enough for Kitty stop by and see Lorna. Though the last time that they saw her each other involved a trip into Lorna's memories, and revelations for the other woman that had Kitty making a particular point to stop and see how she was doing.

Kitty texts ahead to see if now is a decent time to stop by. Then she makes a stop down in the kitchen, grabbing a tray and heading up to the room. She knocks softly on the door. "Hey Lorna, it's Kitty," she calls through the door. "Brought a few holiday themed snacks," she says.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna had texted back, after all, she was endlessly scrolling away on her phone. She'd sat there messaging emails back and forth to Genosha assuring council members and the alike that she'd planned to return sometime soon. Though she'd left that part vague. She's been named heir after all, and she hadn't stepped a foot onto Genoshan soil for nearly a month. Since her birthday fiasco. It all seemed a world away.

As Kitty knocked on the door, the knob unlocked and swung inward, with a flick of Lorna's hand. She set the phone down, scooting herself off the bed and standing on her bare feet to plod over toward her friend.

"Hey, thanks for the snacks, I really should've gone down and gotten something a while ago.. I got caught up in emails with Genosha."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty's tray has a tea pot and two cups, and then a plate of sliced fruit, oranges and apples, plus some cheese. And then there's another little plate that has some cookies on it. Butter cookies backed with a thick, dark chocolate, they are formed the usual sorts of holiday images. Though Kitty stuck to toy soldiers and candy cane shapes and left the Christmas tress and Santa Claus-shaped cookies for someone else.

"So glad you're back," Kitty says, coming in and setting the tray down. If Lorna allows, Kitty moves over to give her a quick hug, but one whose tightness suggests the level of concern Kitty has for her friend. "How was the time away?" she asks with a warm smile for Lorna.

Kitty looks like she's doing well. She's staying fit, being in the best shape of her life most likely. She let her hair grow out a little longer, and is wearing jeans and a sweater today. She likes sweaters during the winter.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna reached over to snag a piece of fruit as Kitty made to set the tray down and passed her, plopping it into her mouth before Kitty wrapped her arms around the green haired mutant and earned a surprised squeak. Still, Lorna returned the hug lightly, a small smile on her face. "Well, I missed you too." She murmured, amusement thick in her voice.

"I'm doing better somewhat, it helped to be away.. and shut off everything for a while. It helped that Roberto was there. I don't think I'd be back already if he hadn't caught me on my way out to get some space." She murmured. And considered Kitty's longer hair with a faint glance.

"Though my father does want to murder Roberto now.."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty lets Lorna go soon enough, smiling to her and laughing gently about Erik's feelings about Roberto. "So, is there reason for him to want to murder him? Or just being over-zealous?" Kitty asks. She moves over to take a seat and pour them both tea.

"Which, I wouldn't blame you at all. I mean, Roberto checks about as many boxes are there," Kitty comments with a teasing grin. "Mainly though was just worried about you. You know I'm here, anytime you need," she offers softly, shining a supportive smile over to her long-time friend.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna coughed lightly, a blush covering her cheeks as she turned and reached for a cookie to nibble on as Kitty let her go. "Well, Roberto refused Genosha's aid in setting up X-Corp and wanted nothing to do with my father's regime. He took offense to being called a dictator.. and well.. now that we're dating.. My dad kind of lost it. Like destroyed a few of Roberto's properties that he could find on his way out after I yelled at him to not murder my now boyfriend." She cleared her throat, and shook her head.

Then the green haired princess reached for a cup of tea, sipping at it carefully as she tried not to scorch her tongue.

"So yeah.. my dad wants to kill Roberto now."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty's only wince comes on the destroying of properties. "Ah. Yeah. You know... it might do Erik some good to consider if destroying other people's stuff is kind of... a dictator sort of thing to do when upset," Kitty says, frowning a bit. She sighs and takes her tea, adding some milk to it. There's milk, honey and lemon there on the tray.

"Well, I'm glad for you. Roberto is awesome. I'm sure Erik will come to see that in time, even if they chafe a bit," Kitty says. Being optimistic. Then again Erik has nearly killed her on a few occasions, so some large degree of it probably just trying to make Lorna feel better, unfortunately.

"Your sister finished her spell," Kitty says. "No more worry about Sentinels detecting the school, or government satellites or any of that," she says with a smile. "Though it was kind of a battle that happened during it. Something about Loki's weakening of the ley lines and some extra dimensional stuff. We had Storm AND Thor out calling in storms and throwing lightning around. I was in here guarding students, but it sounded like a war zone for awhile."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna grimaced faintly as she sipped at her tea with one hand and nibbled away on her cookie with the other. "I don't think he cares at this point. He was really, really angry. More so than I've seen him in a long while. He cursed Roberto's whole family for starters. He thinks that Roberto took advantage of my poor mental state." She grimaced, and made to sit down in one of the nearby chairs.

"Roberto doesn't really care or worry about it at least... and saw my father as over-reacting. He was surprisingly nonchalant about the whole thing." Which is more than Lorna could say for her past ex's who had feared or hated her father in equal measure.

"But it does make it harder to schedule time with him. He's so busy and well, he can't go to Genosha obviously.. We're not sure how to handle the PR either if we go public." Lorna trailed off, and her shoulders slumped faintly at the news that Wanda had had her spell and that there'd been trouble.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here to help."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty reaches over to rest a hand gently on Lorna's arm. "Don't worry about not being here. We had plenty of people to take care of matters. Doctor Strange helped. Hawkeye from the Avengers too," she says. "You needed some time, Lorna. I'm glad you took it. Just burying anything away and going on without coping? That never goes well," she says with a little shake of her head.

Kitty takes a toy soldier cookie, breaking off his legs to nibble on. Poor little soldier. "Well, Clarice can get you both back and forth. And you could go just about anywhere in the world, right? I would think you can decide when you want to reveal something. And he's a mutant, who is active in mutant rights. I can't imagine what the downside there would be in Genosha."

Kitty takes a sip of her tea. "Going to be heading to Paris soon. Betsy got Pete and I tickets, back on her birthday. Our own little time away. Though Blink said she'd send us Lockheed so he can come too."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna sighed softly as Kitty reached out a hand to settle on her shoulder. "I still feel like I should've been here, I promised Wanda that I would. I was so ... stupid to just keep pushing for answers. I never should have had Emma go into my head." She pursed her lips, even as the memories were still fresh, still painful... it was something that was part of her.

A grimace followed and Lorna set her tea and cookie down, dragging a hand through her hair. "Roberto doesn't want to have public ties to Genosha Kitty, and what am I? The heir apparent to Magneto's grand-master plans and everything else he does with the island. Publically it would hurt him to be seen in connection to me. And as far as him being on Genosha? I did just say my father wants to kill him.. right?" She drawled, arching a brow as she huffed a breath and as Kitty mentioned going to Paris, Lorna's eyebrows shot upward.

"Plane tickets? Who uses those anymore? I hope it's first class at least?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty muses quietly. "Well, yes, but Erik's anger can ebb. I hadn't really thought about impact on Robert of dealing with Genosha, though," she says quietly. "Well, it's not the easiest situation. But I have faith the two of you will be able to work it out together," she says in a supportive tone.

Kitty gets a little grin at the mention of plane tickets. "Yes... I mean I know there's a few people who could get us there. But it kind of meant a lot. I got Betsy's blessing once Pete and I realized the feelings we were starting to have for each other. Though this was a little more. It wasn't just, go, you two are both perfectly dorky for each other. It was... giving us something to help us on our way. Even if it's taken a little time to use them, with all the Sentinel stuff we had to deal with," she says.

Kitty takes a sigh. "So glad that is... well, it's not over. But the threat is reduced. There's still some leads up in Canada. Where I think Sebastion was making his new model. We're looking into it still," she says.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shrugged lightly, "I just hope it doesn't prove to be too much. Outside forces and internal disagreements.. I mean, fundamentally, Roberto and I have some very different views on things.." She murmured, reaching for her cup of tea again and taking a sip. "We never actually settled any of those or figured out where we actually stand.. And what happens if things get serious? Down the road, long term serious.. that's like an entirely different level of problematic. I mean sure, he's a mutant that's powerful and has a good public face.. but I mean.." She trailed off, shooting Kitty a look.

"I'm happy to hear that you and Peter are doing well. I'm glad someone is having a relationship work out. I hope you two have fun over there and don't run into any trouble." She murmured softly, gently, as if she'd jinx it by even saying those very words. So she reached for some more fruit and chewed to keep from making a snide comment or two about Sebastian and that whole fiasco regarding the Sentinels. Stress relief that was not.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty gets an orange segment. "I don't know if I mentioned... Rogue got a dog. From Mystique of all people. She didn't want to keep it, she'd given away Ace because of being worried about keeping him at the school. What with, the kind of stuff that happens here. So Pete and I took him. After, ah... intensive scans. Because... Mystique."

Kitty grins. "But he's been great. Little golden retriever puppy named Jester. Lockheed has taken to him well. Kind of like a well, not a little brother. A pet really, but they are close at least." Kitty smiles and nibbles on the orange segment.

"Well, you and Roberto don't have to solve everything today, I figure. Just let things go as they will ands how it turns out is all you can do? Give it a chance," Kitty says. "And you got a lot of people here who love you both."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna popped a bit of apple into her mouth, chewing over the slice in consideration as Kitty spoke. "Wait, Mystique the crazy person that threatened to blow up a city block to get Rogue and I's attention for five freaking minutes gave her a puppy? That is beyond wild. It's almost as if my father showed up for my birthday and offered me a pony because he's heard that's what little girls always wanted." She snorted and rolled her eyes, and as Kitty mentioned having taken in the dog, she arched a brow.

"Glad the scans came back saying it was normal then. That is so bizarre." She murmured, and at Kitty's comments regarding Roberto she nodded slightly.

"I know, one day at a time, don't worry too much about things that haven't even happened and stuff. But I can't help it. I sit here wondering what things might be like a year from now.. two.. gosh five years. If we're still together by then it would be serious, right? It's not like he approves of the monarchy.. so that would be awkward if we ever got seriously serious.."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty scoffs softly and nods at Lorna's description of the puppy and Mystique. "Yeah. I was obviously cautious. I mean, I don't want it take out on a little puppy. Long as that's all he is. And there's been no signs of any issues and we've had him a month or two now. I don't know. I just can't divine how other's brains work, sometimes."

Kitty leans back, listening to Lorna talk about her worries for the future. "Where were you five years ago? Where was your father? What was Genosha like then? Things could change a lot by then. And knowing my friend Lorna? If she has a hand in them, I suspect they could be for the better. Maybe you can turn around some policies. Turn around world opinion. Maybe Roberto will be able to willing, and able, to help with that. It's hard to tell, but maybe this ends up being a key cog in a better future."

Kitty laughs. "Oh goodness, listen to me. But I've actually been thinking about this stuff. I mean, we were supposed to go on a pub crawl at Oxford for my 21st. Illyana was going to teleport us. But some things were going on, I decided it was best to stay here. Ended up out at the pool for my birthday. Peter almost didn't go out there. He'd pissed off Jean somehow. But he did. And that's when I kind of noticed how much we clicked. He did too. And... well, if we'd done that pub crawl? We wouldn't have ended up here today."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shrugged and reached for her tea again, sipping at it now that it was considerably cooler. "I can't imagine being raised by someone with that whiplash like mentality. Crazy one week and then handing out puppies a few weeks later.." She shook her head, for once thankful that Magneto had left her with her foster parents. They'd been paranoid and secretive.. had lied to her.. but were mostly stable at least.

"Hmmm.. five years ago. I was in college, had broken up with Alex and hda just found out I was Magneto's daughter. So. Yeah. You're right, a lot //has// changed in the last five years. Now I'm his heir and Genosha exists.." She pursed her lips into a thin line of thought, listening to Kitty talk of how she had ended up dating Peter.

"There is a lot of random chance out there.. That's true." She hmm'ed under her breath, sipping her tea as she let a lull form in the middle of the conversation for a minute.

"Kitty, this might sound abrupt and from out of no where.. but have you ever wanted to go to Germany?"

Shadowcat has posed:
One of Kitty's eyebrows goes up. "Yes. I mean, I have been to Germany. Just a sightseeing trip while I was in college. And, well, a mission or two, of course," she says. Where haven't the X-men gone, after all, and if Kitty wasn't there from the start, she came in not long after.

"But, haven't really focused on it particularly of late. Why, something going on there? Need a companion?" Kitty says, in a tone that makes it clear she's willing to come along. Or at least, work out how to come along. She does have a job now. Darned adulthood.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna crossed her arms in thought, "I spent a lot of time thinking in Brazil, and given how... absolutely upset it made my father that I went there.. that he tracked me down himself.. I thought maybe I need to track down where he grew up. Try to figure out parts of the world that made him.. him. I will never know anything more about my mother. There's no one alive that knew her beyond my father.. and he's not speaking of it. He never speaks of his past willingly." She sighed softly.

"I thought, maybe it might be worth it to try to see more of the world from his perspective. Why he did what he did with me.. and maybe help me figure out something more about him. Maybe if I can track down the place... leave a plaque for my grandparents' memory."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty nods her head slowly. "I don't know if Auschwitz kept that degree of records and what would have survived," Kitty says quietly, the mention of the evil place enough to affect her tone. "Knowing the Germans they had records of their records though. I'd not be surprised if they had tracked where people came from originally," Kitty says.

Kitty lets out a sigh. "Not that I think understanding him is a bad idea. But in the long run, he needs to see the world from some other perspectives too. He's very militant, Lorna. You know that. And unless we're going to live in a world where we take over the humans and put them under our boot, we're going to have to figure out how to get along. And too often, he's not helped matters there." Kitty's voice is kept gentle, not trying to make any of this worse for Lorna to hear than it is already.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna inclined her head, "I know that most prisoners had records of where they came from. The Nazis were militant in keeping records. But beyond that I know my grandfather owned a clock shop, or repair shop anyway.. I managed to get that from my father sometime ago. So that's a start. I doubt anyone is alive that remember where his shop was or anything though.. so that'll be less than ideal." She murmured, "Though maybe that's for the best too. I can't imagine I would handle it well if I ran into someone that knew my grandparents and did nothing to help them..." She curled her hands over her mug of tea and bit back a sigh.

"It's still very recent to him, you know? I'd say he can't let go of the past.. but is it wrong to let go of something like that?" She grimaced and looked down at her tea cup.

"Have we ever considered going to Mars? Like the idea of colonizing a nearby planet and just leaving Earth behind sometimes."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty listens quietly, her expression gentle and supportive. "Maybe it would be enough to visit the town, for you?" Kitty suggests. "I'd be happy to go with you though, Lorna. You'll always have my support," she says firmly to her friend.

Kitty takes a sip of her own tea. "Oh, sure, Mars. The Moon. The whole problem is breathing. And not starving," Kitty says. She lets out a sigh. "Lucky our own trip to the moon didn't end worse. I had no idea those portals could be affected as they were."

"But I know what you mean. A lot of people see Genosha that way. Or did. But, it's rough when it's involved in international affairs as it is presently. Tough to make allies," she says with a sigh. "Well, I hope you can find time to be around for the holidays. We have some cool ideas for decorating the place," Kitty says. "Turn it into a Santa's village, complete with a railroad around the outside. I was reserving one of the usual rooms in front of a Jewish theme," she says.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna inclined her head and as Kitty offered to go with her, a relieved smile broke out over Lorna's features. "Please? I would really appreciate having someone else there with me. I could really use someone that.. well, gets it, and all." She exhaled a breath, and finally took another sip of her tea, seeming to relax a little more as Kitty continued on.

"Oh c'mon, like we couldn't develop something. I'm sure between the brilliant minds we know and mutant powers something could be started. Right? Just .. I'm frustrated with how exposed Genosha is. No one wants to ally with us, no one ... well, that is considered a good ally to have anyway.." She muttered and grimaced, decidedly //not// getting into the talks she'd had with Doctor Doom of all people.

"Yeah, I should be around for the holidays. On and off.. I've been putting off my duties in Genosha for a long while.."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde smiles over to Lorna. "Always. You always have been a friend to me. I don't have any brothers or sisters from my parents, but people like you and Rogue and Doug are as good as, as far as I'm concerned," Kitty tells Lorna.

Kitty leans back in her chair then, sipping her tea and then looking at the tray to decide between a slice of fruit or a cookie. It's the holidays. She goes with a cookie. "Well maybe you can help change that, about Genosha. Dad lives there, I have a lot of interest in what happens," Kitty says with a small smile. "Speaking of, I need to introduce Pete to him still. Might see if he wants to come home for New Years or something."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna's smile warmed at Kitty's words, and she reached for a handful of blueberries to snack on rather than reach for a second cookie. "Well I'm happy to be here for you too Kitty, no matter what." She offered, and leaned back in her chair as Kitty spoke of her father living on Genosha. She considered, feeling somewhat all the more protective of the place, having an individual to picture rather than just the nebulous 'citizenry' of Genosha that she typically thought of.

"Maybe. I hope so at least." She tilted her head to the side, "Why not bring Peter over to Genosha? Surprise your father? Then you all could have a tropical trip in the middle of winter and warm up. Hit the beaches."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty takes a bite of the cookie. The chocolate is nice and thick beneath the butter cookie, which is why Kitty liked this brand. "That's a pretty good idea. Maybe we could go in December when everyone's on break," she says. Kitty breaks out in a soft laugh. "I'm just picturing Peter on a boogie board in the surf," she says.

Actually she is, though she's imagining how tough it would be for the ocean to knock him off that board with his spider-clinginess and his amazing sense of balance. With no one to know him over there he could probably even show off and everyone would just suspect he was a mutant. Now that is a thought.

Kitty gets a big grin. "I'll have to talk to him about. Going to become international travelers at this rate. Paris, and Germany, and then Genosha."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna laughed softly, "Looks like I know what to get you for Hanukkah, a world map.. one of those fancy ones that lets you scrape off the places you've been. It'll cool awesome. And when you've been everywhere, well.. that's a massive accomplishment and deserves to be shown off." She murmured, and continued to snack away on the blueberries she'd gathered into her handful.

"Well, Genosha is certainly warmer than here, it'll be nice. Sandy beaches.. sunsets.. I can hook you all up with whatever you need. Just let me know."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty switches to an apple slice for her next snack. "Yeah, I think we'll have to see about a trip," she agrees. "It's great having Clarice back around again, too. She's got such a sweet personality. I... ah, well you know I'm not the biggest fan of the Brotherhood. Too many tangles in the past. So, to me it really says something that she grew up in that environment and is as open about others as she has shown herself to be here."

Kitty adds, "She's going to send Lockheed to Peter and I in Paris. I hadn't wanted to ask, but Rogue brought it up and she jumped on the opportunity."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shrugged, "You know barring world ending incidents, I'm sure you'll have plenty of time." Her voice dry as she finished off the blueberries in her grip and fell silent for a moment of contemplation. She hmmed under her breath, seemed content to let Kitty talk regarding Clarice and how she'd spent time with the Brotherhood.

"Clarice is always trying harder than others to help out that I've seen. She doesn't need to do half of the things she does.. but she wants to. She likes being helpful." She pursed her lips together briefly, "I told her today that she didn't have to rush and drop everything to come get me. That I could wait to be portaled back here. That.. if she was taking a nap, or having a snack.. she's allowed to tell me that she'll be there later." Lorna paused, "But I get that it's different with me.. because of who I am.. I just wish that wasn't the case."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty pours herself another spot of tea, and checks to see if Lorna would like a refill as well. She picks up the milk and adds it to her cup, then stirs it in slowly. "I still don't know her very well, to be honest. For the longest time there it was like we kept missing each other, I'd walk in the room right after she'd left."

Kitty says, "But I really the person I've gotten to know since. I don't know a whole lot about her history though besides that she trained with the Brotherhood. She does seem very loyal to you. Which is always a plus," Kitty says, grinning a bit at the last part. "She went to the mall with Rogue and Peter and I. Or, well, Peter never made it past the food court, but..."

Polaris has posed:
"Blink and you'll miss her." Lorna teased, the pun was horrible, but she made it all the same. As Kitty offered to pour more tea, Lorna nodded, and she picked up her cup of refilled tea to sip at it straight, without any milk or sugar added. Was it a bit bitter? Sure, but the green haired Princess liked it that way.

"I'm happy to hear that she went out and got to experience life more freely with everyone. I was worried when she showed up in Brazil to check in on me. It's typically a sign that my father is angry and wants me back in Genosha or under a heavier watch when a bodyguard shows up to follow me around.. But Clarice is a friend too. She deserves to know of the world beyond Genosha."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty finishes pouring the tea, and then covers her face at Lorna's pun. "Oh god. I'm not even going to bat an eye at you about that one," Kitty says, peeking out from her hand. She grins and then stands up, taking her cup with her as she wanders about Lorna's room and over to the windows.

They had a blizzard right after the spell. The weathermen were surprised by the storm that Thor and Storm and had summoned up, and apparently the weather change ended up opening the door for an arctic blast. Though a lot of the snow has melted now, it's still mostly white outside.

"Well, I may be responsible for that," Kitty says. "I didn't tell anyone about Emma. But I did let a few of your friends know it would be good if they were about for you." Kitty turns back from the window to look at Lorna. "I just didn't want you to be alone in dealing with it. Not that you'd have to tell anyone. But you have a lot of friends, I wanted to make sure you remembered. Though, Brazil caught me by surprise when I found out."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna got up as Kitty went to the window, her mug of tea in her hand as she trailed along to peer out the frost covered window to catch sight of the snow beyond. She shivered, even in a long sleeved shirt and cardigan, the Princess of Genosha was not in any way shape or form acclimized to the cold. Even if magnets worked better in the cold than heat.

"Well Clarice did warn me it had snowed." She murmured, and glanced back to Kitty as her friend admitted to having told the others about her trip to Brazil and had in fact been worried about her.

"I'd planned to take a car, my bag, and a few hundred bucks in cash and just keep driving. I figured, if I truly wanted to escape my father's tracking and everyone else.. I had to move and stay moving. I'd planned to maybe end up in Texas or something. I didn't want to be on a plane. And I wanted to be alone." She pursed her lips together, glancing down.

"I didn't want to be found." She added, it had been a token effort though. Roberto had found her and he'd refused to just let her walk out of the Mansion alone when she'd said as much.

Shadowcat has posed:
"I can understand wanting to get away. And, you had a lot going on in there," Kitty says, a tiny motion of her finger indicating Lorna's head. "But I'm glad Roberto found you. Away time is helpful. But, I find I tend to do better talking with people, I don't know about you," Kitty says.

She leans back against the window frame as Kitty looks over to Lorna. "So how are you handling it?" Kitty asks, the first time she's actually asked about that part, having only really talked about her time in Brazil and the like, so far. "That was a lot for anyone to find out. Let alone the parts about why you didn't remember," Kitty says quietly. "Have you been able to make any peace with it?"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna smiled thinly, and glanced back down to her tea cup. She took a sip, stalling and thinking over what to say in regards to Kitty's questions regarding whether or not she had made peace with killing her mother. Accident though it was. She remained silent for a long time, finally trailing back toward the chairs by the fireplace, but not quite sitting down yet.

"I was always in therapy since I was young.. the bipolar.. which was actually related to my powers and all." She murmured, "I was forced to be there when I was a teenager and didn't want to be. I was told it was for my own good." She paused and took another sip of her tea. Though her voice was soft it carried well enough. "In general I don't like to talk about my feelings, or how I handle things. Mostly because it's framed by people claiming that I'm unhinged or that I'm 'crazy'.." She muttered, and made a face.

"I can't say that I'm handling it well, I barely sleep.. though having Roberto there helped. The problem is that in my head.. it's like it happened recently.. not twenty years ago. It just.. it keeps playing in my head." She sighed, and shook her head.

"Put it this way Kitty.. I'm not going to be on another plane anytime soon."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty's tea goes untouched in her hand as her attention is given fully to Lorna. The brunette gives small little nods at points, understanding, or at least hearing Lorna. "I'd feel the same, I'm sure," Kitty says.

She walks over, setting her tea cup down on the tray and stands near Lorna. "I know that you know it wasn't your fault. It wasn't anything you could control. But, I'm going to say it anyway. Because I'd probably need to keep hearing it. There wasn't anything you could have done, Lorna. And your father... it's like you'd have both died if it hadn't gone how it did."

Kitty reaches out a hand to rest on Lorna's shoulders. "I saw the look on your mother's face. I know she'd have wanted you to survive. The love that she had for you? And she wouldn't want you to hurt over this." If Lorna seems like she can use it, Kitty would offers a hug, just gently holding her friend if so.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna exhaled a breath, her teeth clicking together. "My //father//, he should've been there for my mother. He had an affair with a married woman and knew she had me and ... and he left her alone. With that man that was her husband. I still can't wrap my mind around it. That man she was married to, he said strange things had been happening around me.. For how long? Had my powers already manifested? When? How? Did my father know?" Her expression crumbled slightly, and it was clear she hadn't actually verbalized any of this. Even with her time 'away', she'd been avoiding actually thinking about it all.

Even as Kitty came up to offer a hug, Lorna pulled away.. Her expression pinched as she hunched forward, combing a hand through her hair. "I'm sorry Kitty, but if you hug me right now I'm likely to cry."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty doesn't chase when Lorna pulls away. But she says softly, "Would crying be that bad at a time like this? Those kind of emotions, bottled up inside? Go ahead and let them out. Sometimes you just need to have a good cry," Kitty offers quietly.

She doesn't try to hug Lorna again, but if her friend shows she needs it, an embrace to hold her and comfort Lorna will be waiting. Kitty runs her fingers through her hair, trying to think of what she can do for her friend in a moment like this.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna exhaled a breath, "I've spent over a week crying already. I don't think tears will help much, or change anything at this point. I need to pick up my issues and get over them. I have duties and responsibilities that I've been ignoring because of this.. And I can't start on with this again." It was why she'd avoided the Mansion, avoided being around where the Professor might try to get her to talk and sit in extra therapy sessions.

She'd been avoiding it all.

Even if it haunted her when she tried to sleep. And when she closed her eyes even for a brief moment she could see the utter terror etched on her mother's expression.

She was going to have //issues// getting onto the Black Bird for any reason. She knew it.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde moves to take a seat, letting Lorna know she'd have all the distance she wants. "Well, whatever you think is best. You know we'll do what we can to help you, Lorna," Kitty offers quietly. She pulls out her phone and glances at it. "Temple in Salem Center will be having a service tonight. Do you think you might like to go?" Kitty offers quietly.

Out in the hall, the sound of a couple of the kids hurrying past can be heard, talking loudly and laughing about some practical joke that just got played on someone or another.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shrugged once, a small roll of her shoulders as she set her tea cup back down on the tray. "I know. I just don't really know what is or isn't best.." She glanced down at her hands, her eyebrows furrowed slightly as she drew them closer in front of her, as if inspecting them once thoroughly and completely. She turned them over and sighed.

"Yeah... maybe. Not sure where it says in scripture how someone should feel after finding out they caused accidental matricide... but I might as well. The other option is sitting here and trying to get something done in my emails for the Council back on Genosha."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty picks up her tea cup again, sipping from it once, twice, before setting it aside again. "Well, we'll pray and see if maybe you'll find the answers you're looking for," Kitty says quietly. "It's always meant a lot to me to have you here. You and the other Jewish students. But you in particular," Kitty tells Lorna.

She rises from the chair and says, "I've got my car outside. Still can't quite decide whether to keep it in the city or here. Though I was out in Metropolis and Gotham the other day so drove it back from there," she says. Kitty hesitates, considering whether she should go into details. Whether she can go into details without risking people making connections. "Um, some stuff happened at Superman's tomb. I just kind of happened to be in the area. And... well, without going into it. I don't think that's his body in the tomb."
