Date of Scene: 28 November 2019
Location: Midtown, Manhattan
Synopsis: Sara waits on the sidewalk. She meets Ivory and gets a bit of info and help.
Cast of Characters: Witchblade, Ivory

Witchblade has posed:
Shift's over. Pez is on her way home, she's walking down the sidewalk, since she's here to check on things. That's just her reason for being in Midtown after her shift's ended. Pez has still got her wits about her, leaning against a wall checking her phone. It's not the newest model but it works, and she can afford it on her salary. Plus it's not the flashiest and nobody would in their right mind want to steal something without a camera and limited data usage too. She's got her 'uniform' of sorts on, button down, jacket, smart pants and shoes. Badge is on her belt too, her gun however...isn't, but she doesn't really /need/ her sidearm when she can turn into a mass of slicing, slashing blades. So, Pez is just hanging out leaning on the wall of a building on the sidewalk, waiting. Her cab she called an hour ago's stuck in traffic. No shock there. NYC's famous for traffic. And New York cabbies don't pay attention, either. Sara's eyeing one smoking and on his cell. Ah if she was on the clock she could walk to the end of the block and call it in. Thankfully for the inattentive driver....Pez isn't at work. And she's got bigger fish to fry when she is, too. Pettty crime's not her problem. Even so she shoots off a text to a few colleagues letting them know about the cab. Hey, if it goes anywhere, anonymous tip anyhow. Sara's still got her old cellphone number in the PD database for contact info (given her new...old phone is still fresh enough that the numbers haven't been updated by the IT guys yet. Gotta love corporate culture....).

Ivory has posed:
Ivory isn't on shift either. Well, technically she never is on shift. The benefits of managing the own time. And she's afoot because who in a sane mind would get a car in NYC unless you want to spend half your day in it to get from A to B? No, they just take the subway and walk, even as they do own a little VW bus, though that is pretty much reserved to transporting stuff. Which reminds her that she has to get a meeting with namorita for the spring and summer collection. They shrug as they halt a moment to sniff the air at the odd smell, looking over to where the smoke came from, the nose wrinking.

Witchblade has posed:
Pez watches quietly, she lowers her phone and smies. Of all the people to run into in this fine city.....the cat designer. Cat von D, or....something as Sara shoves herself off the wall and waves a litle to Ivory. If anything, Pez is getting tired of waiting on cabs. So she's staying put but she looks to Ivory with a raised eyebrow. "What're you doing in Midtown?" she asks. Sara's curious. And easily able to explain why she's here, too.

Ivory has posed:
Ivory turns with a surprised look on the face to face Sara, their eye rising. "Eh, I live here? I mean, somewhere over there..." they say, pointing into one direction. "Oh, it's you officer Pes...pez... sorry, I am bad with that name. I mean, I am pretty much on the way to do stuffs. Check out fabric and all. Need to get spring and summer in order and all."

Witchblade has posed:
Pez smiles. "Pezini. Pez. E. Knee" Sara says breaking down her name for Ivory's benefit. "And I'm Detective Pezini" she adds with a nod. "Doing stuff's good. But. I'm waiting on taxis and....with this traffic" she adds gesturing to the street, "Not going anywhere fast" she shrugs, looking to Ivory. Good to know Ivory lives 'over there'. Somewhere. She gave that info willingly, too. Pez didnt need to go all 80s to get it out of the designer. Good to know.

Ivory has posed:
Even without 80s tactics, 'over there' is just a direction - and if Pezzini wanted, she could just look them up in the database. They registred after all. "well, why use a yellowcab or uber at all then down here? You got feet and they look healthy." ivory responds with a little chuckle, shrugging some.

Witchblade has posed:
Pez shakes her head, "Nah, I've been doing the beat feet thing all day. Working and walking" Pez says with a smile, a dry one at that. "Though you're right. I could walk home, but....." she admits, not moving any from her spot to talk to Ivory. "Takes effort and I feel lazy right now. I just want to stand here, talk to you and wait up on, well, hopefully a cab or Uber or something. I'd drive, but....cars in this city's a problem. Think I should get a bike?" Pez asks. Sure. Pez, Sure. Bike riding Witchblade, much? That'd be scarier than normal...and Sara's pretty damn scary at times

Ivory has posed:
"Well, a bike can weasle through the traffic, and better parking, but you'll be in the rain." Ivory notes, shuddering a little as they look up to the sky, eying the dreadful clouds. Like always, There's that tingle of Ivory's magic blood around them, themselvs pretty much not knowing it was there at all. "Dang, smells like rain's coming."

Witchblade has posed:
Pez isn't that bothered by the rain. Well. Not bothered in the fact she's on two feett that is. "Good point though. Maybe I should buy a better jacket then?" she ventures and peers up at the clouds for a second. Nah. Bettter idea. Look back to Ivory. "You willing to sell one for NYC weather?" Sara jokes. Oh, Pez's got jokes, true that. She could use a jacket, but....she'll make it a point to grab one from Ivoy's store. That tickle on the back of her neck with the Witchblade explaining, carefully, and very slowly, about Ivory's magic blood. "See. I took a look at your clothes. Good stuff" Pez nods. "You think I could bill my squad for a new coat and shoes and pants and a nice shirt too?" Sara muses. This time she's fully joking, the umor in her eyes.

Ivory has posed:
"I got some ready for New York winters. Depends on the design you want. You know, for cold days area on the webpage. No brck and mortar at the moment, maybe I throw together a popup one if I manage to snatch a store last second." Ivory chuckles as they shake the head at the sky. "Though people already have all the black friday stuff prepped, and you know it all. Hard to get any place for one now, but hey, I got cybermonday sale coming. Ye, following the Amazon, but what shall you do in this time and age? Maybe you can manage to put something under unercover clothing expenses, if you change to vice or DEU. You know, those guys that don't wear the blues."

Witchblade has posed:
Pez smirks. O"h sure, leave it to kit out the fancy detectives. Pretty sure I can work with our rules for appropriate work wear" Sara adds with a shrug, hand on her chest. "But I don't wear a uniform. Unless" she says hands back by her sides, "You count my clothing choices as a uniform of sorts. You know, jacket, smart pants, smart shoes, that sort of thing" she adds, mentally tallying up how much stuff she can get away with ordering on work time and with the NYPD's computers. Sure, she'll just mosey on over to IT and have a chat with them, ah the joys of being a NYPD detective. Gotta love working in her position and homicide cases. Sara looks amused and looks to Ivory again after looking around. "You know, I'll let you in on a giant secret. You pay attention, you know who is what by what they wear. Homicide wears one style of jacket. Vice wears another, CSU wears their ties a certain way, that sort of thing. I could wear my collar up and fool people who think I'm one department, you know? People catalog this crap online, you know that? There's people in this city who put guides up online and snap pictures" Sara says sounding a little ticked. "It's just....why?" Sara asks, as if judging those people

Ivory has posed:
"Well, sure, people copy one another, but I suspect no department has 'genderfluid' as their calling card." Ivory notes with a chuckle. "But all I need to know is that the guys in white coveralls are CSI and those in fancy blue are honor guard. I mean, sure, you all have that, for special days, so could call you all on the blues, aye? But then again... don't the New York counties also combined sherrif department in those colors?"

Witchblade has posed:
Pezzy laughs again, "You got it pretty much. White coveralls, on hands and knees with Luminol and lights means our techs are doing their thing. Uniforms and badges are the ones who get you for going 50 in a 45 zone" Sara jokes. "It's when you get to us detectives you're nott sure which is which. But hey, long as we do our jobs right..." Pez nods, "Good catch on the counties though, you're sharp" Pez adds with a smile, a genuine one. "But. Sherrifs are civil....and I mean that in their tone of voice. Those are the people you call to help you out when your car breaks down on on 22, north of the city on the way to Canada" Sara adds. She's full of jokes with ivory it seems. "They also wear blue, mind. You know, one time I was heading to the Adirondacks on a weekend off. Got a sherrriff pulling me over. We talked. I got let go for something or other, I forgot what" Sara muses, "We're not as bad as people think, that's my point. I know. I know. I took a long route to get to that point, but" Sara shrugs, and watches the traffic, shaking her head before turning her gaze back to Ivory. "Oh, don't get me going on ceremonial garb. I hate it. Give me my work gear any day. I t's too tight in some areas" Pez admits. not leaving much to the magination. Pez isn't your average female cop, dimensions wise. Tall, well built, and, yes, endowedd, too. "It's a bitch to find vests that fit, too" Pez shrugs. Work complaints. "You wave a Kevlar vest into a jacket for me. You got a customer for life" Sara admits. Boobs make it hard to get form fitting ballistic vests. Or, Sara's assets, anyhow.

Ivory has posed:
"That means the traffic guys are Sherrif, aye? And the helpful guy that comes when my neighbor doesn't turn down the music is too. But the guy on the 22, isn't that westchester county?" Ivory gives Sara a long once over look. "You know, you should have your ceremonials tailored. Like, if it doesn't fit right, it doesn't look right. But there's special uniform tailors, right? I mean, those licensed to do that stuff and all. I ain't a specialist on ballistic vests though. Not even close to my line, but you probably aren't the only one with that problem. Might be a web shop out there..."

Witchblade has posed:
Pez flat out snorts. "Don't give them ideas" she chides. "They'll think they matter" she nods tapping her nose but her eyes give away she's joking. Oh she'll smack talk her fellow officers and NYPD bretheren and sisters. Because....they'll give it right back to her. And she enjoys the banter. "You know, 22 goes practically halfway to Montreal, right? If you ignore the whole pesky border of Canada issue" Sara nods. "I'm that helpful girl in my little apartment. It's 'turn it down or I am gonna call Sara' Pez nods. "But yeah, uniforms are useful. And oh by the way, uniforms are also good for things too. Like stuff we can't or won't touch" Sara adds and nods. "Oh, I tried looking online. I got a visit from IT asking why I was trying to punch holes through the filter like the Yankees through the infield against the Knights" Sara points out. "Deliberate, precise and oh so well targeted. You know, it's funny. I got given Yankees tickets as a gift the other week. I'm holding onto them to sell or give away. Tried putting ads up. Nobody bit. So I've taken to leaving them by the water coolers at work. Had some poor intern like guy hand them back to me" Pezz groans."Give me a ticket to MSG any day. Think I could sell off those tickets now or something?" she adds watching the traffic again for a moment. It's moving. Slowly. "Even tried standing outside in the parking lot. Didn't work, uniform thought I was, ya know, other stuff" Pez shrugs, shaking her head.

The idea of tailoring her clothing is interesting, "You know, I should just totally do that, tailoring the ceremonial gear. It'd make my life easier" she admits.

Ivory has posed:
"Ugh, don't you have a partner you can like, send to the game with their SO? But anyway, shouldn't finding a uniform tailor be as easy as just... opening yelp and typing in uniform tailor and all?" Ivory toys with their phone a couple moment, eyebrow rising. "Gosh, shaming reviews on the customer service for Park Coats here, but they work with the PD since ages it seems. Ad Meyers they say overcharge and has bad quality stewn in... Oh, P&S here has good reviews and they make customs from base it seems and authorised. Ozone Park. See? not that hard to find a tailor."

Ivory chuckles as they show the results to Sara. "Standing on the parking lot? One would assume that people in the building would learn to know their detectives. I am not a sports fan, but surely one of your partners and collegues is..."

Witchblade has posed:
Pez is checking her own phone here, glancing up to meet Ivory's eyes. The fashion designer's right, really. Oh, yes, the fashion designer's right. Mostly since Pez hasn't bothered, been busy with work that slams into her desk and she has to solve....like she's some magical genie in a jacket and slacks. Nah, she's just doing the right thing. Pez though nods. "I'll ask the higher ups who we go with. Then go from there" Pez says with a nod. "Though for casual wear....hmm, let's see" she shrugs scrolling through her phone tapping away. She's ordering alright. She's ordering from Ivory's web store. Because why not?

Ivory has posed:
Ivory chuckles a little but nods as they seek their pockets for a piece of paper and pen to scribble the address of that uniform tailor down for Sara. "Give it a look, or a call, and if their price is good, get yourself a set. That's if you ever need them but for a funeral or to be promoted in. Or if they sent you on street service. Or if you testify in court, so you look extra respectable to put additional weight on your testimony."

Witchblade has posed:
Pez nods and looks pleased, "Hey thanks," she smiles, "Anything I can help you with in return though too?" she asks, determined to repay Ivory for their help. Sara's just like that really. Black and white morality. And repaying favors, too. Sara's willing to help her friends out. And, Ivory's certainly in that friend category really.

Ivory has posed:
"Ah, don't mind that. I mean, you said you like my stuff, that's pretty much enough. Carrying the word out is all I can ask for." Ivory notes, offering that paper to Pez - which would give Pezzini the first chance to actually tough the skin of the designer without raising suspicions. Below the skin, blood full of the stuff that made magic work.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara takes the paper as a tendril's creeping toward Ivory's skin. As casually as is possible, Sara brings her hand back. She's hoping, no, praying, the tendril recedes. If it doesn't.....bad things are going to happen. Like, really bad things. Pez on the front page of the papers bad, Pez coated in blood, bad...and oh yeah, Pez is, well, she's watching her hand out the corner of her eye. The tendril's paused for the moment. It's looking, if it had eyes, directly at Ivory's skin. Like the tendril wants some of Ivory's blood. Sara shoves her hands in her pockets and is hoping that symbiote gets the hint to back off. Not quite...

Ivory has posed:
Ivory doesn't notice the tendril, but nods gently at the cop. "Here you go. Have a good day officer. Or is there anything more?" they ask, once more looking up to the sky that promises rain pors coming in soon.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara's well aware of the tendril, but she pockets the paper and looks to Ivory with a nod and a grin. She's debating hitting the tendril with her other hand, but, but.....yeh, Sara's nodding to Ivory and smiles. "Thanks again" she says and sets off walking with a smile, hands in her pockets.
