Synopsis: A simple breakfast meeting turns into a super-powered brawl when Blink and Superboy stumble on Electro and Sandman robbing a jewelry store
Cast of Characters: Superboy, Blink

Superboy has posed:
Morning in New York is icy cold and it will be raining soon. Conner didn't sleep much, as he doesn't need to. In fact, he has been texting to Clarice for hours now, telling her of his life, studies, Superman, adventures and a lot of bad jokes. It is mid-afternoon in Genosha, after all.

But breakfast time in New York, so he went out (with the cellphone - yes, he flies and text, likely illegal) to clear head and make get some food. And he decides (why not?!) send a >>hey, do you want to get some food with me? I have a couple hours before I need to get back to study?<<

Blink has posed:
This was one of those days where Lorna hasn't requested for Blink to be about. 'Official business'. Which probably means time for herself. That's fine with Clarice, meaning she has time for herself as well, having spent most of it blinking about Genosha and hands down on her phone, replying to Conner's texts with a bit of a grin on her lips.

Her replies have been coming steadily, with her own adventures but once the invite comes for breakfast there are a few minutes of pause. Then a selfie is sent of herself on the beaches of Genosha, the tropical sun a clear contrast to the rainy New York. <<You better make it worth my time to make me leave here.>> a winkyface and then <<Where to? Your choice this time.>>

Superboy has posed:
<<Wait, are you wearing a swimsuit?>> Inquiring minds want to know. For reasons. Send a selfie! <<I can beat that beach, but the food here is better>> which is possibly right, depending where he goes to get food.

Starbucks definitely does not qualify. But hey, they can find a good place? Conner has money. Mostly because he has been too busy lately to spend much. He takes a picture of the street and sends it. <<Can you blink here? Ah, grab a coat if you do. Kinda cold here.>>

Blink has posed:
<<How else would I enjoy the beach?>> Another selfie is sent, this time more focused on herself, face and her bare shoulders revealed with the telltale strings of a dark-colored bikini hooped about. Her features show a wide smile, hair up in a topknot with those elven lines clearly showing. <<Give me a few minutes and I will make my way there. What's the location?>> Apparently she needing to adjust the picture to an actual street or location so she can go there. Unless she has been there before.

It takes her a good part of ten minutes but then Clarice blinks to the street that was shown, jeans and a tight black shirt that hugs to her forms along with a jacket atop it. A jacket she immediately zips up due to the contrasting cold she feels. Eyes then look around the street searchingly.

Superboy has posed:
Conner sends also the coordinates, if it helps. It is a street on the Bronx. But when Clarice arrives, a few minutes later, the usually busy street is mostly empty, with just a few fearless New Yorkers peering from street portals. Police sirens can be heard, quickly closing it. There is van lying on a side in the middle of the street. Conner is nowhere to be seen.

And then he is, as the young man gets thrown through a jewelry store shop window, bounces on the crashed van and lands at Clarice's side with a thud. Ow. "Hi. Clare," he groans. "Looks like someone is stealing the jewelry. And I swear I got punched by a rock fist. Didn't see it."

Blink has posed:
Ah..., rain..., cold. Flying Superboys through the air... Hold up.. Clarice blinks owlishly when she sees the boy of steel being tossed through the air and landing near her. Jaw doesn't drop because, hey, she has seen a few things in the past so she replies in the most blase manner, "Sup, Conner?"

But she is already offering him one arm to help him up if he so wants, gaze then turning to the window that was broken. A javelin is already visible forming on her free hand, she slipping it into a pocket of her jacket, "Whoever it is in there doesn't seem they want to play nice." she frowns then, someone is disturbing her breakfast! Or is it dinner? It's all so confusing with all these timezones and portal'ing about.

Superboy has posed:
Lets call it breakfast because it is the time in New York. Less confusing. Conner accepts the offered hand and stands, shaking the glass of his leather jacket. "Definitely not nice. Someone busted all the lights in a couple blocks, too. Including alarms. Even my cellphone," which explains why he didn't send anything. "It better not be fried for good. I got it last month!"

Ahem. Priorities. He looks at the jewelry store and frowns. No X-Ray vision, so he has no idea what there is inside, still, he flashes a grin to Clarice. "Give me five minutes, okay?" And he jumps back in, looking around warily. But then there is a crunching sound at the back and a yell, and he rushes forward.

Blink has posed:
"Your cellphone? Now how will I know your reaction to the last selfie I sent? Dreadful." Clarice replies through a brief chuckle, her tone playful but the way her shoulders are set, along with the slight bend to her legs show a preparedness to what may be going on in there. She forms yet another javelin, this one kept in her hand.

She doesn't seem that happy when she is told to stay behind, but this is his city so for now she obliges. Or at least she does so until she hears the crunching sound and the yell. Was it Conner? She starts running forward to the store, a gesture and a portal appears mid-air she getting inside, spotting Conner and then saying, "I got your back." some relief that at least the crunching sound wasn't someone hitting Conner. She begins to move just behind him, teleporting forward from time to time to keep up with the clearly superior speed from Superboy.

Superboy has posed:
There isn't a lot of places to go. In the front of the store most stalls are empty. Someone grabbed everything quickly, leaving just a lot of broken glass and a few small pieces of jewelry on the ground. Just a few backrooms deeper inside. Look mostly storage packets and half-opened Christmas decorations boxes. And a little beyond there is some flickering light. A room where a man in green and yellow seems to be cowering over a middle-aged, fat guy.

"What do you mean it is electronic-only!?" Growls the uniformed man. "Ok, fine! You are lucky I didn't..." He glances up, his movements fast and jerky. "Stop right there, kid," he states. Then he glances at the S in his shirt and frowns. "Or I will fry you," adds the man, blue lightning running through his arms.

Conner stops, looks at the fat guy, then at the villain. "Hey, you are Electro, aren't you? Cool. A real super-villain, it has been a couple months." He cracks his knuckles and grins.

Meanwhile Clarice will find that oddly, the floor seems to be made of sand in the room. Looking like normal sand in the dim light of the room. But when she steps on it, it begins moving, quickly growing into a mini-twister around her and solidifying into restraining coils. "Hey, there are two of them. I have never seen this chick before, but she has weird ears."

Blink has posed:
And another javelin formed, three already in preparation to what may be coming. She holding two now while running ahead, frowning at the destruction wrought by the robbers. Electro, at least it's apparent what he does. Lightning. She can perhaps dodge those with her portals and natural athleticism. A portal to appear on his back and knock him-- Her thoughts are interrupted when the sand begins to wrap about her wrists and body.

"I have never seen you before either, so we are even." She looks around herself, arms held forcefully so she can't manifest a portal through her motions. Yet, she still has her javelins, so she lets one drop against her skin and winks, "You can call me Blink." then she disappears and appears atop a counter, crouched down and ready, attempting to stay away from any pursuing sand. That one will be a hard nut to crack she considers, being made of sand means he can't port him about easily. An interesting fight prospect.

Superboy has posed:
Conner turns when the man of sand (unoriginally calling himself 'Sandman') tries to grab Clarice. But before he can take a step, Blink vanishes, leaving the super-villain confused. "Maybe she shrunk?" He suggests, reforming into a human-sized, if large, human being.

Conner just punches him, quick and hard. Which doesn't work very well, as he is still sand, but it stuns him momentarily, sends him crashing through the wall into the jewel store main room and makes him loose cohesion.

Then Electro blasts Conner with lightning, making him yelp in pain and stumble down. The villain turns to Clarice, again moving very fast. "You are next, girl. You kids should stay away from this business."

Blink has posed:
That solves her problem, a good straight punch to the chin sending Sandman flying. So Blink shifts her attention to the other foe. Lightning, and moving fast to boot. Damn good combination, but she is no pushover either, "Maybe I will send you to an early retirement." Sure, she knows how to badmouth back to villains now. Yet Conner's fall springs her to action, eyes turning to slits and she jumping forward, an acrobatic motion worthy of a top gymnast and just as she lands she throws her javelin towards Electro, straight.

It does seem like a very easy to dodge attack because really, it is, specially for someone with that speed. But she has a plan, running forth and opening a portal for herself, blinking herself just behind Electro to where she thinks he will attempt to dodge. With her momentum she will attempt to hit him with a kick, in hopes of sending him against the flying javelin..

Superboy has posed:
"Bah, you might think yourself quick, but I am used to nail Spider-Man in the middle of his idiot acrobatics," states Electro with a snarl, sending a stream of lightning after Blink. Yes, he is very quick and would probably have fried her if she had not 'blinked out'.

It still hits the javelin and kind of disrupts it into shards of energy and sparks of electricity. But Blink kicks him from behind and the villain goes down to the floor, smashing his face with a startled yelp. He rolls over, shaking his head and struggling to stand, his lip busted.

Meanwhile Conner stands up too. Grins at what Blink just did and... gets snatched by a tendril of sand and pulled into the other room, where Sandman starts to pound at him with fists turned into massive rock hammers.

Blink has posed:
Most people always look at Blink as if just the girl who does portals. In a way that's true. What they forget is that she has been training non-stop with Sabretooth for years now, honing her body to peak condition because really, Victor wouldn't take in slackers. So when Electro stumbles forward and to the ground she takes advantage of it, no hesitation, another 'blink' and she shows up near the ceiling right above her foe. She drops down with her knee hitting the man effectively on the back of the head. Enough to disable, but not a killing blow.

"I will tell Spidey you said hello." She whispers to the knocked-out Electro but then hears the sounds of fight on the other room and starts to run there. Only one javelin left now, she better make it count.

Her rush to help Conner makes her careless though. It would had certainly brought a growl from Sabretooth if he witnessed her mistake, but just as she steps into the room she feels sand under her, wrapping around her legs and then tossing her through the room against a wall, knocking the wind out of her sails. The javelin clatters away from her hand, rolling over the floor not too far from where Sandman and Conner are.

Superboy has posed:
Electro is knocked out by that blow to his head before he can draw some energy and recover. He is tough, but at a human level. Usually Spider-Man pulls his punches when he hits him. Clarice actually has to hit him full forced, but a good kick to the head is enough to put the villain to sleep for a few minutes.

That leaves Sandman, who sees Blink coming and manages to trip her. But that also makes him stop pounding Conner, giving the young man a chance to push him away. "You okay, Blink?" He asks quickly. Sandman comes again, but this time Conner avoids his blows moving with a bit of superspeed. "I think I can grab him, get a portal ready... to somewhere," he requests.

Blink has posed:
"I have sand in my mouth." Is Clarice's reply. That probably means she is alright, or at least not in extreme pain. Even if she does start to get herself up slowly, stumbling once but finding support on a broken piece of furniture that was once a counter. She certainly has no superhuman levels of toughness, just normal even if at a peak condition. A good hit can often disable her so she seems to have been lucky this time.

When Conner asks for a portal she nods, her hands gesturing in preparation, her feet making her dodge away from any spots that may still have sand about. "Where can we even contain this guy?" she asks, the first time she comes across a villain with these kind of powers.

Superboy has posed:
"I can't be contained!" Yells Sandman. Conner can punch him hard, but he keeps reforming. And his own blows are about as strong as Superboy's, so for the villain it is obvious who is going to win. Already Conner has a few nasty bruises in his face.

But of course. "Sure you can, 'cause I have Tactile Telekinesis," which means he can touch him, spread his forcefield over the villains sandy body and keep him trapped into a nice force bubble.

Briefly, as he is too strong, but long enough to shove him through Blink's portal.

Also, he boasted of his Tactile Telekinesis again, which makes him feel twice as accomplished. So hah!

Blink has posed:
Just as the telekinesis forms up there is the telltale sound of Clarice's portals. 'Blink', it opens and envelops Sandman, on the other side a small island visible. 'Blink' and he is gone. "Good riddance." she exclaims and lets out an exhale, resting her back against the wall.

Yes, she has a island just for boys and girls that misbehave, and often for herself too when she wants to be alone. A rather small place in the middle of the atlantic that she came across in her travels. "That should keep him away for a while until he is docile enough to be detained..., I will give you the coordinates later."

Yet she takes note of Conner's bruises and walks to him, a brow quirking. "Are you alright?"

Superboy has posed:
Poor Sandman. Water is his bane. Putting him on a tiny island is pretty much the best place to keep him contained until (once Clarice has given Conner the coordinates) the Justice League sends someone to pick him up. Some heavy hitter that is not going to be bothered by a little sand.

"I am fine," replies Conner. "Nothing that a little sunlight won't fix in a few minutes, at least." So nothing broken, just a black eye and some bruises. And his hair is all standing up because of Electro's discharge. Ugh. He smothers it back into shape, mostly. "How are you? You had a pretty bad fall. Do you need to lean on me?" He doesn't mind, really!

Blink has posed:
"You do give a new meaning to photosynthesis." A wink then and Clarice is close to Conner, rather close as she reaches up to trail a finger over the bruise, not touching it directly but making a face, "But the spiked hair doesn't look too bad." chest is still heaving up and down at the fight, not with the kind of stamina that half-kryptonians have for it.

Pointing to the other room she says, "Better get that guy strapped up, not sure how long he will stay out. He was tough when I hit him." Though the suggestion to have her lean on Conner does make her remember her own pain, a few bruises on her back that she certainly won't be healing with the sun! So the hand that was up near Conner's face moves down and she leans on the man for support. "You were right, it did beat sunbathing back in Genosha. My back is going to kill me tonight though."

Superboy has posed:
Conner laughs. Oww. Oh well, he will be laughing later. "Still an action junkie," he teases. "You should be in a hero team. They do a lot of good work and get into plenty of scrapes like this."

So lean on, he goes to check with Electro, who is still sleeping, and to tell the fat guy the fight is over and he can call the insurance company. Luckily for the shop owner he gets to recover all the loot, which was far more expensive than buying new glass displays and fixing the broken wall.

Then the police is there and Conner sighs. "I don't have time to give a statement today. Can we go somewhere else? Maybe somewhere with sunlight?" Because, of course, an icy rain just started to fall."

Blink has posed:
"That's not a bad thing." Clarice replies about being an action junkie, quirking up a brow as if daring Conner to say otherwise. But she then breaks into a smile, "You know.., I have been thinking about that. One of my friends spoke about wanting to be out and doing some good a while back and it really mirrored my thoughts. I haven't been able to think on that too well but.." And then she trails off when the police begins to arrive, hands up and adjusting her hair and making sure her more mutant features don't show. Being Brotherhood does make her having to be careful when around law enforcement.

They step out to the rain and she grimaces up at it, "Yes, let's definitely go somewhere else." leading them to a side alley with a lot less traffic than that main road she will open a portal, one that leads to a beach where the sun is shining through. Where it is though, that's anyone's guess (Except for Blink).

Superboy has posed:
Conner waves to the cops, limping with Blink, "I'll send a statement by email!" He promises before Blink whisks him away. The idea Clarice might be a wanted person never crosses his mind. She was probably too young when the Brotherhood did their main misdeeds in America, anyway.

"Woo... a beach and sun. I had forgotten how much I like to hang out with you," states the young man, grinning again.

Blink has posed:
Always keep on your toes. The humans are not our friends. The teachings from the Brotherhood still ring in her mind, all the time, reinforced with the time she spent as a slave and working for Genosha's previous government. It is easy to discern her discomfort with the police presence, she never having been the best at hiding what she is feeling.

"Here we are, not Genosha, but it will do." Clarice opens her arms up to the sun and then seems to remember she is garbed in winter clothing. "Ufff..." a good time as any to begin stripping out. The jacket is first, then the shirt, revealing the dark-colored bikini she was wearing earlier and at the same time that slim body of hers. "I think this has enough sun for you to recover, mmm?"

Then she begins taking out her pants and boots, now sitting down on the sand.

It is a rather secluded beach apparently, a cove, noone in sight and the sounds being from the clear water hitting the rocks over to one side. Beyond the cove the beach seems to go on for a good while, and curves, in the distance (a few good miles) a city visible. They appear to be on an island.
