Going Kung-Fu Fightin'!
Date of Scene: 08 December 2019
Location: The Dojo of the Iron Fist
Synopsis: Trini Kwan meets with Chun-li and has a fruitful kicking lesson, and a promise for future lessons.
Cast of Characters: Chun-Li, Yellow Ranger

Chun-Li has posed:
It was a simple dojo that Chun-Li had found and had paid a bit of a money to use during off times to practice in. She had a few spots she liked to practice in and it really depended on her need where she went. This one had a lot of equipment for her to hit. She liked that. So, right now she is standing next to a heavy log wrapped in rope and set with weight for her to send kick after kick at during the evening, the lights of the place possibly attracting people. By chance, Chun-Li had forgot to lock the place before beginning to night, leaving the front door open.

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan was very interested in learning new techniques. She is a black belt in Mantis-style Kung Fu and has various ranks in others - but her kicking game needs some work, and there's NOBODY better at it than the famous street fighter turned Interpol agent Xiang Chun-Li. So - she teleported over a block away from the dojo. Seeing it open, she knocks on the door and steps in. "Ms. Xiang?" she asks softly, stepping in. "Forgive the intrusion, but the lights were on and the door was open." Trini is wearing a simple yellow blouse and leggings, with a duffel bag in her hands. As if she planned for this. "I was hoping you had a minute?"

Chun-Li has posed:
A single kick suddenly sends the log skidding back several feet despite the weight of it and the weights on it. The wood even groans from the force. She lets out a sigh and then smiles and turns around, "Hi, sorry. I didn't mean for the door to be open. I'm not the one in charge here but..." She pauses, "You said Ms. Xiang? You were looking for me. Here?" She asks and then crosses her arms, "Well, I have several moments but why did you need to speak to me?"

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan nods slowly. "I did. My name is Trini Kwan and I was hoping to meet you. Your kicking skills are second to none and I really could use some teaching on the subject. I apologize for disturbing. I am a black belt in Mantis style Kung Fu and am learning several others as well."

Chun-Li has posed:
A blink from Chun-Li and she stares, "I see." She states, "So, you are just beginning to master one and are working on others." She considers, "I think I can work with that." She then shifts slightly before saying, "But, the thing is, I don't tend to just teach people. I rarely teach at all. I'll ask you something important before I begin to help you at all, Trini." She smiles, "Why?"

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan gazes at you, smiling. "You are the best of the best. And... I need to be better. I cannot speak much of it for I swore oath, but I am a hero who helps defend the world." She sets the duffel bag on a nearby bench and unzips it. Inside is workout clothes like a gi with a black belt.

Chun-Li has posed:
A blink and she tilts her head, "Well, I can't say I completely disbelieve you but I mean, it is a bit hard to imagine. Just out of the blue." She considers and then points at the thick wood she was just kicking and then looks back to Trini, "Get yourself changed into something appropriate and make sure your shoes are off and then come over here. I need to see what you can do, Miss Kwan the Hero."

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan nods as she steps into the bathroom and comes out with a mostly-white gi with yellow trim and a black belt on. No shoes as she smiles softly. She then glances at you. "I wish I could tell you more - you are one of my heroes - my inspiration." She then starts working on one of the training dummies and it's obvious that her resume is genuine - but again, she did admit that her kicking game isn't the best. And it appears that the Asian teenager is a bit stronger than she looks.

Chun-Li has posed:
Watching, she hmms a little before she considers the technique and nods, "I see. You are kicking just to kick." She nods her head, "It's a part of a kata or maybe just a thing you are kicking to simply cause damage and move on to something else." She nods, "I think I see. You aren't bad but you lack grace and purpose in your kicks." She nods her head and gestures, "Step back a little."

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan nods as she takes a few deep breaths. "I'm more comfortable with upper-body action. That's why I am here. There are few who could claim to be better at kicking than you." She then steps back to watch, grabbing a water bottle from her duffel bag to take a few sips.

Chun-Li has posed:
A look over at her and she throws a fast punch, "See, this is how you likely throw a punch." She throws it again, "Fast, quick and easy. Your body moves, you move, it moves. Everything together and natural." She then flicks her foot out with exactly teh same easy, the foot connecting lightly with speed and instead of coming back down, it is simply kept up in a crane stance, "Your leg is not something to be used for just power." She flicks it her foot out again and then hops to the other leg and throws another kick with the same speed. Each just tapping, "It can be used to jab as well." A few more kicks." She then flicks out three fast kicks, "What you need to do first is realize that you are not using your leg just to do a huge amount of damage and then move on. It's capable of much more." She then gestures Trini back over.

"The first thing I want you to do is simple. Practice with your foot up, throw a fast simple kick and do not let your foot down. Repeat this twenty times for me."

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan raises an eyebrow, nodding slowly as she watches your actions and hears your words.. She moves back to the pole, hikes her left leg up, and does a 'jab' at it. Maintaining this balance, she starts dishing out some light kicks, mantaining her balance on her one foot as she executes two dozen kicks. She nods. "I see..." she muses softly as she then switches feet and repeats with her other leg.

Chun-Li has posed:
A nod and she smiles, "Good." She then gives littel directions here and there as Trini kicks, offering her advice to adjust how she stands, the angle of her kick and onward till she completes both legs and then states, "See, much better near the end." She then lifts her own leg, gesturing Trini back and suddenly she slams the log with a kick. At least, it seemed like a single kick. The log rocks back and then forward with the force though it seems to rock oddly. She then lowers her leg and smiles at Trini, "How many times did I kick the log? Once, two, three, or four times?"

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan just watches, blinking. "I'm pretty sure I saw three kicks - but so fast that I had to think on it. The log moved weird for a single kick so..." She blinkblinks. "I know that you have some remarkable talents." She smiles softly, humming softly. "Those rapid movements oculd definitely come in handy."

Chun-Li has posed:
A smile is followed by a small laugh and she nods, "Good eye." She gestures, "The reason I can do that is because for me, my leg is just another weapon. It's as good as a fist for anything I want." She nods her head, "And I got that way from just what I showed you. For now, I want you to practice those two dozen kicks with each leg until you can do them without thought." She smiles, "As my master once said. A student practices until they get it right. A master practices until they cannot get it wrong."

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan nods slowly. "Admittedly, I also do a lot with blade weapons. I am rather fond of daggers and katars." She nods slowly. "I will do so. And that saying is very wise. Sounds like something my uncle would say who taught me." She then smiles as she rubs her leg a bit, then does another set of jab-kicks.

Chun-Li has posed:
A grin, "Well, it isn't what I planned for tonight but I'm glad you came by, Trini." She winks, "I'm glad to help." She then moves over to a bag and asks, "So, what is it that you do when you aren't being a hero again? You can't tell me about your hero work it seems but you can perhaps tell me about other things."

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan smiles. "I'm a senior in high school, and have a lot of activities including martial arts, theater, and my pet project is environmentalism. I want to defend the world, not just against the forces of darkness, but against those who would spoil the world for future generations."

Chun-Li has posed:
A smile and she nods, "That's good. I'm an agent of Interpol myself." She nods her head, "It lets me use my skills to help others rather than just be in martial arts tournaments." She then consideres, "I am surprised that I inspired you, so." She nods her head, "I'm good and all but I hardly thought of myself as such." She laughs a little, "In a way I find it quite strange. I never sought to be a role model."

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan nods slowly. "In my expereine, the best choice of a role model is one who isn't intending to be one." She nods slowly. "I'd love to see your famous helicopter kick though. There's more than just marital arts at work, isn't there?" she asks.

Chun-Li has posed:
A laugh and she considers, "Tell you what. YOu practice what I told you today and when next we meet, if you can do it well enough, I will show you my helicopter kick." She nods her head, "How is that for incentive? I might even tell you just how I do it." She laughs and nods her head before shrugging, "As for me, I can't stay here forever and nor can you. My time is almost up."

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan nods slowly. "Very well. I will practice my best and try to work on other things." She smiles softly. "We will meet again - can we exchange contact info so we can meet easier next time?" she asks, smiling softly as she gets out a piece of paper and starts scribbling her name and number.

Chun-Li has posed:
"Sure, give me your info and then I'll text you so you have my number." She nods her head, "I do look forward to helping you get to a point where you can kick as fast as I can." SHe nods her head, "This might even be fun." She winks and laughs a little.

Yellow Ranger has posed:
Trini Kwan nods as she hands you the information. "Very well. I will see you another time." She goes to change back into her street clothes, then faces you and bows. "Thank you, Sensei." She then picks up her bag and leaves.
