Getting Ready For The Jump
Date of Scene: 14 December 2019
Location: Quarters area of an Air Base in Seoul, Korea
Synopsis: Nick and Indy chat after waking up in the Air Base dorm
Cast of Characters: Phantasm (Drago), Indiana Jones

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
After the unplanned detour to Seoul, Nick had to rest up before he could attempt to make the trip back. Considering the nature of the situation, he has to admit that the accomodations were quite generous. The dorm area had plenty of beds and being that he was sleeping during the daytime, it wasn't hard to open one up for him.

Nick didn't really have means to lock himself away from prying eyes so he slept in his *ahem* 'costume' when he unphantasmed. His attire was not flashy. It too seemingly done for utilitarian purposes rather than to be seen. Charcoal grey sweat pants, charcoal grey hoodie, velcro shoes. Heck, if it wasn't for the thin set gloves and the added black material to the hood to block all view of the face, it would look like a stereo typical jogging outfit one would find in Central Park during the colder months. Another thing noticable, even as a human, he's definitely smaller than Indiana.

Enough time has gone by and a now somewhat rested Nick starts waking up. "Nggh."

Indiana Jones has posed:
There are a few smells wafting in from the mess hall. Hot coffee, eggs, bacon, butter...smells sufficient to make the stomach grumble quietly. It's about 6 AM local time, about four hours from when they landed, and the base has already stirred to life.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As Nick starts to wake up, and the smells of breakfast starts to greet his nose, the eyes behind the fabric opens wide. "Shit!" He starts to roll to his feet, stumbling slightly as he steps out, his sense of balance having hit the snooze button already. Reaching out a hand, he grabs the pole of another bed to balance himself, jarring the occupant of that bed.

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indy was sleeping lightly. He was told the funds he needed were going to be transferred at 8 AM, and then they could pick up the tickets to fly across to Shanghai. He made a confused sound of "Hunh? Wha..." as his eyes fly open. He rolls out of bed, hitting the floor on his side, coming up with a revolver pistol, hammer cocked back, the barrel aimed at Phantasm.
For a moment, he was still focusing...and then the barrel lowered, Indy groaning out, "...Not a good idea, Raven-guy."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Balance regained, Nick's head turns as he hears a thunk, freezing as he sees the gun aimed at him. "T-" When the gun lowers, he lets out a breath he didn't realize he was even holding. "Geez, and I thought I got jumpy." He replies, keeping his voice low in consideration of any others still in the dorm. He leans down, offering a gloved hand to the professor on the floor. "I overslept. My travel window's getting smaller."

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indy takes the hand, getting to his feet as he holsters the old pistol. "Maybe you'd best get moving, then. Cindy and I are going to be gone from this place in an hour. We have to move fast. Something my father said comes to mind, but a recent student put it in simpler terms. In the race we're in, 'Second Place' just makes you the 'First Loser.'" He begins pulling on his boots.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Probably should," Nick agrees, looking to the older man, "Indiana Jones," The face may not be visible but the tone betrays the curiousity, and maybe a hint of concern, "You guys going to be alright out there?"

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indy grins. "No...but neither of us are exactly tourists. I think that, between the two of us, we'll be okay. She's a game dame, Cindy is." The grin becomes wistful. "Reminds me a little of another game dame I knew, a long time ago. Marion Ravenwood. She was...she was something."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Alright. I'll trust you guys not to get killed then." Nick assesses, the guy's obviously not a child. He can make his own decisions after all.

The other name Indy mentions does give the dream traveler pause though, "The lady from the nightmare?"

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indy looks at Phantasm, then nods. "Yep. That's her. Only she listened to me when it counted. That's why she and I were the only survivors."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Ah." Nick studies Indy a bit quietly. The head cocks in the other direction, "In that case, I have to say. You age INCREDIBLY well. Side effect of the encounter with the arc?"

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indy shook his head. "No..." he says, because the Ark of the Covenant has never conferred immortality on anyone for any reason.
And then he doubles down with, "Side effect of drinking from the Holy Grail in 1938."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"You seem to go after a lot of religious stuff." Nick observes, "I think my mom would have liked you. She was really big on those stories. Particualrly saints. Probably influenced her in the name options." He shakes his head, "Well, considering those two tidbits. I'm convinced. You guys are going to kick butt today. Tell you what, if I ever bump into you in New York, I'll get you a beer and you can tell me how this trip went."

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indy chuckles roughly. "If everything goes well, we'll be back in a day or two with an important piece of the puzzle and no one will be able to solve it." He rubs his face. "You would be surprised at some of the stuff I go after. Other stuff...well, you might lose sleep over it."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Oh I already lose a lot of sleep," Nick replies, "There's not much left for me to lose on that front. If you were privvy to what goes on in some people's dreams...especially around Halloween" The head shakes.

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indy looks at Phantasm, then shakes his head. "I'll pass, thanks. Listen, the food is starting to smell pretty good for mess hall food, and a good meal will make the trip for all three of us easier to handle. Wanna grab some grub?"

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Phantasm shakes his head, "Nah. But I'll let you head off to eat. I wasn't kidding about the travel window." Nick steps back, his figure, while not that different, seems to shift slightly. He lifts up a hand to give a slight wave, "Good travels, Jones."

Indiana Jones has posed:
Indy waves back. "Good luck getting back to...wherever." He tips his hat, then steps out of the room.
