Synopsis: Grant Washington's mercenaries invade a fancy gala. They get their asses kicked by heroes who just happen to be in the right place at the right time. And also Captain America.
Cast of Characters: Aguila 6, Prismatic, Achak Lifewalker, Human Torch, Wasp (van Dyne), Captain America

Aguila 6 has posed:
It's a beautiful night. Perfect for a fancy event to raise money to cure rabies. Or something. Grant Washington doesn't care what the people gathered on the roof of the stylish Empire Hotel are actually there to do. The pool has been covered with protective glass to provide a fancy dance floor so that the guests can cut a rug. There are musicians performing for the crowd of well dressed and generally wealthy party goers. It's a very nice time for everyone, it seems. There are even heaters spaced evenly throughout the site to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to warm themselves.

There's a crowd gathered around the bar, wait staff is hustling food to tables of people looking to pig out. The service is top notch.

There's even a speaker about to take center stage at a podium. Mr. Harold Benning is the man who arranged this whole event. He's accompanied by his wife and a pair of large fellows with their tuxedo jackets left unbuttoned, probably so they can access firearms in a hurry. There's additional security there as well, these individuals stand out due to the fact that they're wearing only suits and standing around the edges of the party as well as at the door to the stairway and the elevator.

Across the street a sniper team is getting ready to do bad things to good people. The sniper and their spotter are on a table pulled up to a window of a hotel room from where they can overlook the party. There's small explosives wired to their window as well as several others throughout the building they're in. Downstairs in one of the suites just below the roof waits a squad of mercenaries from Aguila Military Innovations. With them is Grant Washington, their commander. The soldiers of fortune are armed to the teeth with rifles, machine guns and grenade launchers. It appears that they're taking no chances with whatever it is they're about to do next.

Prismatic has posed:
Black ties and ball gowns and high heels on misses. Glass mistletoe prompting charming soft kisses. A dark haired young woman sits attenting the keys -- this is a set up as nice as you please.

Alexis is playing the ivories so sweetly, requests in tip jars on hundreds and fifties, donations pile for the Chairty du soir, refilling the Homeless's winter armoires o/`

Alexis Carr was filling in for the scheduled performer this evening, who had broken a hand in a moped accident, and she had to hurry up and borrow a dress for the evening, so she was wearing a nice, understated black dress, her dark hair pulled up into a nice bun and set with a couple of sparkly holly leaf accents. Her tablet has the piano pieces, and she's simply sight-reading as she plays with the rest of the group. Always nice to play with some professionals.

Achak Lifewalker has posed:
Achak was on loan from SHIELD to help with the event. Unlike his fellow security he didnt seem to have any firearms and he wore a tuxedo. He also wore a necklace of lapis, his dress jewelry for attending. His long black hair was pulled back into a ponytail and he speaks into his sleeve. "Nothing so far." He says as he watches the various people.

Human Torch has posed:
"Mai Tai!"

J Storm is of course at the bar and his battle cry does not go unheard.

He leans his back against the bar and with a crowd next to him he pulls a pen out of his jacket pocket and begins pulling photos of himself out of the other side of his jacket.

"Are you kidding? I always carry extra," he chuckles handing them out to a few of the ladies that are around him.

"I am here to represent my group an believe me rabies is a deadky disease that needs more attention and greatly hinders my save the seals foundation as it is a real killer down in anartica."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet van Dyne is bucking the traditions of 'no white after Labour Day'. She's clad in a sheathe dress of pearl and ivory, a cream-colored scarf wrapped twice around her neck and spilling down her back over bared shoulderblades. The dress sports a plunging decolletage and a skirt that would be nearly immodest were she not of such a petite height. White gold glitters at her wrist and ears and nude-toned pumps probably cost more than a mortgage payment. The only color on her outfit is a tiny patriotic pendant in the shape of a shield, nestled just below the hollow of her throat.

"Oh, it's just *wonderful*," Janet agrees with her conversational companions. The flighty socialite is holding a little court all her own, champagne glass held lazily at shoulder height so it doesn't get checked out of her hands. "Everyone's digging deep for the holidays this year. I've been dreadful, bullying Steve into going to every philanthropic event in town." Her eyes roll with melodramatic apology. "I'd feel worse about it, but it's for the children, you know?" Murmurs of assent rise. "But we can't forget about the health services. All our handsome servicemen deserve credit for the toys roundup for the children, definitely. We just need to make sure they're getting their flu shots and hot meals, too. That's just as important as some boxes under the tree, come Christmas."

Aguila 6 has posed:
One of the bartenders is quick to provide the drink for the famous Johnny Storm. There's no way they'll miss that opportunity. A server is quick to top off the champagne in Ms van Dyne's glass, whether she needs it or not, before moving on to the fellow with the lapis jewelry and asking him, "Do you require anything, sir?"

Mr. Benning takes the podium and motions towards the band to quiet down. He adjusts the microphone before tapping it and saying, "Welcome, friends. You know that rabies has been important to me ever since a rabid black squirrel was discovered in the Bronx just a few months ago. Unfortunately, as there is no cure for this horrible disease, the poor animal had to be destroyed. This is something that must never happen again! It's up to us..." He will continue to speak passionately about this subject if allowed to go on.

On the floor below the gala the mercenaries start to move. They head straight for the stairway leading up, weapons at the ready. All except for Grant. The leader goes for the elevator doors instead, easily prying them apart. He places a small explosive charge on one of the elevator cables before leaping upwards to grab the doors to the roof, sinking his fingers into the opening and preparing to yank it ajar. "On my go," he whispers so that his subvocal microphone will pick it up and send the radio transmission to his men.

Achak Lifewalker has posed:
Achak shakes his head. "No thank you. I am on duty." He says as he begins to walk around the place. This would be infinitely easier to defend the place in animal form but people dont approve of bears and tigers prowling their party. Ah well, their loss. He moves towards the windows and looks out of the windows and back at Miss van dyne and Johnny Storm. He heard of them, and doesnt want to get on their bad side.

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm lifts his glass, "Hear Hear! No more rabies or scabies or homeless babies!" he downs his drink and lazily hold it to the side until it is refilled.

Turning to one of hhe other party goers next to him he says, "You see, that rhymed. I should have my mixed tape out sometime his year. I totally have bars."

He turns his attention back towards the speaker and raises a fist.

"Yeah man," he whispers.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis had wrapped her playing before the man of the hour, Mr. Benning, took the podium, and she draws herself over to the barside, the dark-eyed and olive-skinned pianist giving a smile to the barman as she slid a five over.

"Just a tonic water, with lime, please." she states, looking around to the gathering of people. Johnny Storm, who didn't know Johnny Storm?

Janet van Dyne is given a curious look, and watches the fashion icon for a brief few moments before giving a slight smile, make-up muted and natural. After all, the performers weren't supposed to stand out, but she had no desire to be near the trumpet and the trombones when they emptied their valves.

    Ew.

So she takes up a spot slightly to the side, out of the way of the servers as she watches the speech go on.

Aguila 6 has posed:
"Yes ma'am," the bartender Alexis approached responds to the young woman, promptly filling her order. Benning continues his speech. He's well prepared, might even have hired a speech writer for this event, his words are so eloquent. Most of the attendees have given him their undivided attention. Which is just what the mercs are counting on.

The action starts suddenly as Grant yells over his comms, "GO!" There's a loud gasp of surprise when the door from the stairwell to the rooftop is yanked open and the guard there has a gun shoved in his face. Then there's a BANG! as the weapon discharges, killing the poor fellow and spraying blood over some of the crowd. "Get on the ground! Get on the ground!" yell the mercenaries as they rush out of the door, brandishing their weapons at the party goers and staff as they spread out to cover as much of the rooftop as possible. Many people look as though they are on the verge of starting to panic.

The elevator door is yanked open and Grant Washington strides out, lifting a small device from his pocket and pressing a button on it. There's the sound of a small explosion from behind him as he severs the elevator cable. The hardened soldier unslings a machine gun from behind his back, handling the rather large weapon as if it were as light as a toy, "Mr. Benning! Come with us and no one else will get hurt. Resist and we'll cut down EVERYONE in our way." Benning's personal protection team starts to draw their weapons but before they can clear leather Grant's men gun them down, firing controlled pairs and bursts of machine gun fire into their chests.

Prismatic has posed:
Her ears hear abang. Alexis turns in place, and she drops hr tonic water, the glass shatteringturns, and it's as if everything was in slow motion. She watches as the gunmen come into the room, her dark eyes wide as she reaches for her phone -- which is in her bag, still back at the piano. What a time to *not* have Sam come along.

She covers her head, giving a cry in surprise as the guns go off, the reports of the weapons ringing in her ears as she gets down as she looks around.

Too many people to risk anything.

And the hell would they want with Benning, anyway?! The guy's mad about squirrels!

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm sigh a really -REALLY- big sigh and finished his drink. Not gonna lie, he jumped just a -little- with the surprise guests but not much.

J Storm finishes his drink in a LONG gulp and he kneels but he doesn't go all the way to the ground. He looks around seeing his autographed photos on the ground and he grumbles biting his lip.

Howver, his first move before he says anything is to look at Benning to see what -he- does first.

Achak Lifewalker has posed:
Achak raises his hands and begins to go to his knees. As the gunmen put the gun to Achak's head he looks to the man. He remains calm and quiet and watches the leader heading towards benning. He looks to Storm and Van Dyne and he simply waits for a signal to act. His instinct tells him to go tiger and start mauling, but even as a tiger, he isnt bulletproof. He had to think strategically.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet slips behind a rather rotund local city councilman. It's not an act of cowardice-- it conceals the fact that the petite fashionista vanishes with a subtle rush of air as she shrinks down to insect-size. It also allows a rapid wardrobe change and she drops her clothing, barely big enough for an ant now, on the ground.

"Damnit. I /like/ those shoes," Janet growls. Not very likely she's going to be able to find them later. Segmented clothing crawls over her body, sheathing her from neck to toe in a black-and-yellow bodysuit.

The Wasp buzzes on near-silent wings towards the gunmen. There's already blood on the ground-- this is a spur to action, despite Grant's barking orders to the contrary.

"<Wasp to anyone in range,>" Janet says over the Avenger's private channels. "<JARVIS, raise NYPD and let them know there's a hostage situation on top of the Empire Hotel. Steve dear, if you're listening-- please hurry.>"

The Winsome Wasp buzzes around just above everyone's eyeline. One mercenary in particular has a flashbang grenade hanging off his belt, with the pin just... hanging there!

She buzzes down and grows to something near-pixie sized. With the incredible, disproportionate strength afforded by her scale, Janet grabs the safety pin and twists it clear. The grenade's spoon goes flying and clatters on the ground with a *ping*.

Before it hits the ground Janet's buzzing away to take cover away from the imminent explosion of light and sound, clapping hands to her ears and screwing her eyes shut so she's minimally disabled by the imminent concussive report.

Aguila 6 has posed:
"Oh my God! Oh my God!" Benning yells as he turns around in a full circle, looking for where his rescue is going to come from. Of course, his security is dead and the exits from the rooftop have mercenaries coming out of them. He raises his hands in the air and says, "Please don't hurt me!"

Grant walks up to the philanthropist, taking a look around to make sure that no one is acting up, and grabs the man by the wrist. Almost effortlessly he twists the limb around to get control over the panicking man and begins to drag him towards the stairwell, aiming his machine gun one handed.

That's when the loudest sound most of the people on the roof will ever hear happens, accompanied by a blinding flash of light. Four of the mercenaries are caught in the blast of the stun grenade going off, as are any number of non-combatants. The bright light and loud sound leave the soldiers of fortune grabbing at their heads and bending forward, mouths open as if gasping and eyes jammed shut.

Even the mercs not caught by the flashbang are taken off guard. They start looking around for the source of the attack, aiming their weapons over the crowd of people.

Grant Washington just looks pissed off, yelling in rapid fire Spanish at his men.

Achak Lifewalker has posed:
The sound of the Flash bang has spurred Achak into action. changing forms is fluid and is a matter of a seconds, not minutes. He grows in size, becoming a large tiger and pounces one of the gunmen, working his way across them to try and disarm the men. Claws slashing for their arms and teeth biting guns and jamming them with his jaws. He lets out a large roar as if to draw attention away from the wasp, not knowing where she was at.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis was near enough, and it was quiet enough to hear that pin drop.

That didn't sound good, and she covered her head, bringing her eyes down and blocking her ears as she ducked behind the bar, and when the flashbang goes off she's momentarily deafened, shaking and giving a cry out before everyone looks confused, scared, and several of the mercs are on the ground, and she rushes forward, stumbling over broken glass as she tries to drag people behind the counter as there's suddenly a giant tiger on the floor -- well, at least it's keeping away from the people in ties and dresses, she would rather not find out if her armor extends to tiger teeth!

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm reacts to the flashband just like everyone else with a surprise and a quick cover of his eyes and ears then groggily he stands up and clumsily putting his hands on his hips he says:

"Villinas! You have picked the wrong night...umm..evening to try to kidnap this great man who crusades against rabies."

He shakes his head a little and ays, "You can all leave now and I will forget that this happened....I will...maybe the police won't, but -I- will," he raises a finger in the air to emphasize this point.

Then, "Oooooo a tiger!"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet's everywhere at once. The Wasp maneuvers with the dexterity of a housefly and the precision only human instincts can afford her, and is airborne the second the blast percussion dies down to mere echoes bouncing off the New York skyline. She buzzes fast towards the gun levelled into Benning's ribcage and shrinks down to slip inside of the mechanism. A controlled blast of plasma invisibly renders the firearm useless.

A tiny figure barely the size of a grain of sand freefalls from the firearm, grows to housefly size, and buzzes away towards one of the other gunmen who is looking around with wild panic as a tiger joins the screaming melee.

Aguila 6 has posed:
Facing down a tiger is not something Aguila Military Innovations typically prepares its soldiers for. A pair of mercs go down beneath the claws and teeth, screaming as the beast swiftly mauls them and renders their arms and weapons useless. One of the next closest gunmen has the presence of mind to try engaging the tiger with his rifle, trying to aim his weapon before firing off a few rounds at it.

The other mercenary, the one not stunned by the flashbang, being shredded by a big cat or trying to waste said cat, looks at Johnny Storm and his eyes go wide. "Mierda." Then the man looks around, has the bright idea to grab a nearby noncombatant as a hostage and starts backing towards the stairwell, "Don't move, Mr. Storm, or this one will get a bullet in the head."

Grant is even more pissed off than before. He pulls Benning around, aims his weapon at the tiger one handed, and presses the trigger. When nothing happens the weapon is allowed to hang by its sling, "Really? First a tiger, then my gun breaks? I really gotta recruit some metas if I'm going to keep working in New York."

Achak Lifewalker has posed:
Achak yelps as he is shot. Thankfully it wasnt enough to stop him from moving and he tries to pounce the gunman with a roar. Blood dripping along the wound as he the tiger bats at the gun with a large clawed paw, as iff to snatch the weapon out of man's hand. He snarls as he tries to scare more mercs away with another roar. Being shot is not fun.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis had been pulling others behind the bar, away from the gun fire and the tiger, quietly assuring them that it would be all right -- and when she rushes out again, back to the piano, back to her phone -- she's grabbed.

The short woman gives a cry of surprise as she's grabbed, and she panicks a moment, being dragged towards the stairs before she looks at Storm, then looks at the merc, and she breathes out.

"You picked the wrong one." she states, standing up a little bit straighter, and she brings one of her feet up to bring her leg behind the merc, bringing one arm up to bring the fire arm down, pointing at her chest -- and she herself pulls the trigger.

She hops that the shock from the movement will distract the merc long enough for her to get him off balance and knock him down!

Luckily, she's none the worse for wear.

Going to need a new dress, though.

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm looks at the hostage taker in surprise as the lady can hold her own. He starts laughing, "HAh. Did you see that?" he taps the gentleman next to him who is likely still kneeling.

He takes another deep breath and turns his attention towards the ring leader.

"Buddy...buddy. You don't want to make me have to handle this do you? Let the guy go, he is trying to help save the seals in antartica. Just go back down those stairs," he points then says, "And I promise that I won't get rough with you," but then he looks around motioning towards the tiger," But that guy right there..I don't know about that guy. Look, it's a tiger," he grabs his empty glass and says to the bartender.

"Another Mai Tai please?"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Points to the pianist for turning out to be the right woman in the right place at the right time. "Mental note: hire her," Janet mumbles in a voice wholly inaudible to anyone on the roof.

That leaves just one contender standing: Grant himself. The Wasp takes a beat to time her angles and then rushes at the back of his knee. A few feet away she emerges to full size and drives the bladed edge of her foot hard into the back of his joint. Janet's certainly no weakling, despite her petite build, and it's a blow she executes with a textbook precision.

Of course, that's all predicated on the assumption that Grant's an otherwise normal human. The unexpected impact against cybernetically augmented limbs twists Janet's ankle rather painfully and she drops to the ground with a squeak of pain, clutching her lower calf muscle.

Aguila 6 has posed:
The merc that shot the tiger has the weapon ripped away from him, actually getting himself tugged along by the sling on his rifle and bowled over. By now some of the guys who were flashbanged are recovering, however. Grant points at them, all the fingers on his hand extended, then motions towards the stairwell. The officer pushes Benning along towards the exit as well, not wasting too much more time, even as he draws a pistol and fires a few rounds towards the tiger.

That's when the dude who took the prisoner finds out that he somehow grabbed the wrong person. She just shoots herself! With his gun! What the hell?! "Grab her, rear naked choke, take her..." Grant orders his man. But the dude seems too surprised to react like his boss wants him to.

When Johnny Storm addresses him Grant frowns deeply and addresses the superhero, "Don't worry about Benning. He's lucky to be worth more alive than dead..."

And then his knee bends forward slightly of its own accord. Or, actually, nope, someone kicked him in the back of the leg. That's the Wasp behind him on the ground! "Holy crap. Big fan of the Avengers. You guys can pay me when you need backup and SHIELD doesn't cut it."

An extremely terrified bartender begins readying a Mai Tai.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet bares her teeth up at Grant in a grin. It's not a terribly nice grin, and a little twisted by the pain of her sprained ankle. "You are in the wrong city, buster," she informs him. "And don't get cocky, 'cause my boyfriend? He's gonna kick your /ass/."

Janet grabs the shield pendant off her neck and flings it in an arcing lob towards the fire escape. Midway it resolves into a shimmering steel disc painted with a familiar patriotic theme, featuring a star centered in the middle of it.

Achak Lifewalker has posed:
The tiger looks to the guy who drew a pistol and as quickly as he vanishes. However he became a wasp so he could weave around the bullets. zooming up as high as he could he changes in mid air to a rhino and begins to charge for the cyborg, lowering his horn to try and impale the man, letting his semi bullet proof hide protect him from the pistol.

Captain America has posed:
In a leaping arc into the air, a hand half-gloved in leather snags the disc. Its owner lands in a remarkably quiet thump-thump of boots and stands up slowly. By his expression, he's very...very...disappointed in the proceedings.

"Y'know, taking hostages is like stealing presents -- only the Grinch would do it...and I don't have a twenty-nine and a half-foot pole to deal with you, but I won't hesitate to wade in. We going to settle this politely or not?" Steve's voice carries easily enough in the wide room as he resettles his shield on his forearm. He's in his navy-blue stealth suit, silver star-and-bars across his chest, and helmet down over his face.

Then, the rhino starts into things and his eyebrows lift, noticeable even beneath the mask. "...that's new."

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm takes a drink from his glass, "Thanks bud," he says to the bartender and takes a $50 out of his pocket and sets it on the bar. "That's for you."

Then turning towards the bad guy, he begins to monologue again but just as he starts his says, "Oooo a rhino!"

Then shaking that off he tries to imitate the Captain's heroic voice, "Yes. That's what -I- was saying."

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis heard the order, and doesn't like the sound of getting rear naked choked.

"Sorry lad, not that kind of girl!" she quips, and she sweeps her own leg forward with a sense of elegance and strength that comes from YEARS of making damn sure your legs are where they've got to be in Arrabesque as she turns, and brings her heel up in a sweeping arc (with a tear on the sheath dress), and she brings her heel down to the side of the guy's other knee, hoping to break both of them as she attepts to twist the hot gun from his hand, feeling her palms burn and blister, -- but at least she's safe. Ish.

And she turns to the rhino, and her head tilts.

"... not going to ask." she states, and the apparently bulletproof girl stands between the other mercs and the non-coms behind the bar, attempting to look as heroic as her mussed up 5'2 self can manage.

Aguila 6 has posed:
"Really? All I wanted was to snag some embezzler who has been hiding for weeks and my favorite superheroes are here to kick my ass?" Grant starts to shake his head at Captain America, a faint smile appearing on his face. That's just before he finds himself leaping sideways through the air to avoid an incoming rhino, leaving Benning behind to possibly get gored! The cyborg is faster than fast, his reflexes clearly superhuman, as he gets out of the way, pistol coming up again for an attempt to fire a few rounds behind the mighty beast's shoulder.

Oh yeah, Alexis kicks the crap out of the poor mercenary. The guy was just trying to do his job and now he's laying on the ground with a messed up knee! His weapon would normally by likely to stay with him as he had it on a sling around his body, but it is easy enough to slip off now that the fight's gone out of him.

The bartender gives the superhero his drink, takes the fifty and ducks back behind the bar.

The mercs who weren't taken out take the opportunity to slip away, just as their boss directed them to. That is, the guys not providing overwatch from their sniper position. The sound of glass breaking might be barely audible as windows across the street, a whole bunch of them, shatter. A moment later the sniper and his spotter will engage their targets...

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet takes advantage of Steve's distraction to vanish in a blur of motion and flutter off on her wasp-wings again. "<I think that's everyone accounted for, honey, but be careful. There might be more-->"

Bullets whip past with a *thwip thwip thwip* of breaking glass and crunching wood. A few people go down screaming in pain or simply dead on arrival.

Janet emerges to full size, crouched behind a balustrade on the roof's edge. "SNIPERS! GET DOWN!" she screams at everyone, in a surprisingly loud voice.

The Wasp goes from petite to nearly thirty feet tall in the blink of an eye. "C'mere, you!" she tells Achak-- and grabs at the rhino with one massive hand, arm winding up to pitch him across the street at the sniper perch!

Captain America has posed:
Steve, with his shield uplifted, dives for the hostage, Benning, left behind and in the path of the rhinocerous. It leaves him a blur in the strafing path of the shots fired, but the Vibranium shield rings out with some of the fire stopped dead in its tracks to fall to the floor of the room.

"FIND COVER!" His stentorian voice echoes on the tail-end of Janet's shout, stretching the sudden sting felt on his ribs -- and then the Wasp is no longer quite as petite -- always a surprise, that.

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm is now slightly confused. Thre's the Captain. Wasp. Death Ballerina. And really fast cyborg guy as the bullets fly passed and around him. As Waspy lady yells he ducks a bit then looking back towards the direction she is looking in.

Taking a BIG sigh he turns back towards Cyborg guy and he says over the din, "Really! Buddy, call off the guns before I actually have to do something about them. There's still a raffle right?" he looks around for an answer from someone.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis would state what she thought about this gentleman up on the stage, but she's in mixed company. The gun is thrown to the side as she nurses her hands a moment. Her ears ring from the flashbang earlier, and from the rapport right next to her ear. She teeters slightly, giving a soft huff as she looks to the other assembled. After all, she was just a pianist. Who happened to be in the right place at the right time. She breathes out quietly, feeling her adreniline kick up as she turns back janet and gives a surprise cry, one bullet striking her shoulder -- and lodging there before she drops down and acts as cover for others her arms spreading out, to cover as much as she can.

Achak Lifewalker has posed:
Achak turns away from benning as captain america comes to rescue him. He was about to turn around when he feels something wrap around him and he is lifted. He grunts as he breathes heavily. The problem with this form is the sight is horrible. He cant see whats going and hoped the wasp wasnt going to try and drop him off the building. As he feels her arm winding up, he grunts waits for her to throw him before he reacts.

Aguila 6 has posed:
"Huh," Grant looks in admiration as Wasp moves to toss the Rhino across the street at his sniper team. Hopefully with all the windows busted out she'll get the wrong one, but better to try not to leave it to chance. Into his microphone he subvocalizes, "Bug out."

He's moving by now, heading for one of the edges of the rooftop. With Captain America providing cover for Benning from the sniper Washington takes the opportunity to try to nail the party's host from the angle he's at with a couple of rounds from his pistol. Not waiting around to see if he hits, the mercenary commander sprints, easily navigating past or over people in the crowd as he tries to make his escape, "Big fan of you guys, Cap, Torch! Tell Wasp: Rest." He hops over a table. "Ice." Slips around a kneeling civilian. "Compression." He runs flat out. "Elevation!"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet takes a lumbering step after Grant, anger written on her giant features. Her size momentarily causes her to forget her twisted ankle; the Wasp cries out in pain, staggers, and drops to one knee. The impact *cracks* the building's concrete roofing, but the structure of the frame itself remains stable.

Arms spread to provide shelter for everyone possible. Janet winces as a few rifle rounds smack into her arms and back, but at her scale and with the light armor she wears, they're little more than pinpricks in her skin. At that point, though, the rhino's thoroughly invaded their sniper perch and the support team is bugging out.

Fingers press to her ear. "<JARVIS, call for medical evacuation to the roof of the Empire Hotel,>" she booms. "<Multiple gunshot victims and fatalities. Tell them to hurry! We'll stabilize who we can.>"

Achak Lifewalker has posed:
Achak turns into an owl and once high over the sniper post, turns into an elephant to squish some support teams. smashing the roof across the way, he turns back into an owl and flies back over and lands, become human. His own tuxedo red from his gunshot wounds and he is reminded of them. "Wasp. Captain." He says softly, trying to help stablize what he can.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis is already in action. Makeshift dressings of alcohol and linen napkins from the tables, ice from buckets.

She keeps her cool and composure, drawing herself along others, giving gentle instruction -- best she can -- in spite of the fact that there was in fact, still, a bullet lodged in her shoulder, the bruising along her skin turning opalescent. Her hands are shaking as she moves between the grouping, checking for other bumps and bruises. She has blood on her hands as she gives whispered assurances -- sure that the heroes will be able to sort themselves out.

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm dusts his hands off and says, "Well, that was easy," he walks towards the ledge of the building and looks over, seeing no one he walks back to the bar and grabs his drink. Looking over the carnage he does the sam grabbing a communicator out of his jacket, "Likewise Herb. Double down and coordinate with the Avengers to get these people off of this roof. Have some Mai Tai's waiting for me when I get home."

"Can I off any heat to anyone to help with wounds?" he stands in the middle now looking a bit lost.

Captain America has posed:
With Benning taking up the fetal position on the ground, Steve looks up to see Grant attempting to make his escape. Janet's call for help goes across the comms and he squints fiercely in the direction of the mercenary commander. Bodies lie strewn, some moaning, some unmoving, and he takes a quick step to his feet to curling his arm back -- the shield is aimed and he then pauses, teeth bared in a frustrated grunt.

Nope, not with this many people still on their feet and not present enough to duck. He watches Grant go with a cold gleam in his true-blue eyes. The shield gets clicked back into place on his back. For the moment, he ignores the rent slit on his uniform where blood drips from a bullet's graze.

"JARVIS just relayed that evac's on its way," he says both aloud and in the comms, looking around for the nearest medical kit stashed on the wall -- if folks are follwing OSHA standards around here.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
With the threats neutralized, Janet shrinks down to her normal five-and-change height. She forces herself to limp on that twisted ankle-- it looks like it might even be a sprain with how little weight she can put on it.

Johnny's words cut across her awareness and unfortunately, he's right in the path of Janet's ire. The fashionsta makes to slap his drink out of his hand. "We need tourniquets and pressure bandages," she grates at Johnny. "Either go find us some or get the **** out of our way!"

Janet claps her hands twice to get everyone's attention, face drawn tight with pain and tension. "Listen up! EMS is en route," she shouts. "You--" she points at Alexis. "Get everyone clean bar towels. Steve, honey, call triage," she bids the Captain. "Everyone else, put pressure on any gunshot wounds. Kneel on them if you have to." Janet leads by example, salvaging a piece of plastic rod and using it and a napkin to form an improvised tourniquet and windlass.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis is doing her best to tune out Johnny Storm, though Janet seems to have zero issue with giving him a peice of her mind.

"There was a first aid cabinet in the hall but -- the... the guard." she stammers a moment, and grabs another stack of bar towels, folding. The bullet falls out of her shoulder as the opalescent bruising spreads along towards her neck and her arm. A couple of people might not seem to want some sort of mutant touching them. She doesn't care.

"Your heard Ms. van Dyne. Pressure, put it here. You're going to be all right, love." she states gently. "Medical is on their way."

She grabs whiskey. She rubs her hands in some to make sure they're at least sanitized (though she smells a mess), and she grabs more towels as she looks to Wasp and Captain America, keeping to her area, making sure she's not in *their* way.

Captain America has posed:
"Talking to them now, Janet," comes the quick interlude in his hurried sotto-voce conversation into his helmet's mic. Steve drops his hand from the formed leather and immediately goes to locate this nearest medical kit. He returns and sets it on the bar's countertop. A flick of it opens it to reveal its innards.

"Appreciate whatever help folks can wrangle, we've got to stabilize who we can while med-evac gets here. ETA less than five minutes," he reports loudly in the direction of the Wasp and the room as a whole.

Human Torch has posed:
Johnny Storm frowns looking left then looking right. "Hey, I can stop blood too!" he says under his breath.
ut instead of that he finds a lights a few citranella candles, "But the most important thing now?"

"Mosquitos!"

After lighting enough to cover the whole roof he crosses his arms triumphantly.
