A Date on the Town
Date of Scene: 20 December 2019
Location: Rockefeller Center, Midtown Manhattan
Synopsis: And the couple have a happy date.
Cast of Characters: Cannonball, Prismatic

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie remembered Alexis talking about wanting to go to Rockefeller center, and seeing the Rockettes. He flew her into town and actually has her ride him piggy back, as this is the better position for her to ride on longer trips. Once they land in an alley way, he smiles at her "So what ya think of flying like that hone?

Prismatic has posed:
She had agreed to it, since from the School Upstate to NYC wasn't too bad. As they land, she shakes off her scarf a little bit, better wrapping it around her neck instead around her face, and she gives a wry grin to Sam

"I'll need to borrow a pair of goggles, I should think, for ah... longer runs. Also it's /weird/ being big spoon to you. You're so tall!" she jokes, giving a smile and letting out a breath once she's safely on the ground, rubbing feeling back to her hands from gripping his jacket.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "I can carry ya in my arms if you prefer, but most find that way feeling a bit more secure." He leans down to kiss her cheek, and leads her out of the alley and starting to walk up the street towards Rockefeller center. He did bring a duffle bag with him

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis pulls her beanie back over her head, her hair tucked inisde the hat to help hide it as they walk. The one she's wearing today has a festive pink pompom on it, and she's wearing a dark jacket she's borrowed

"You know, it's odd being in the city as a bit of a tourist rather than living in Brooklyn." she states to Sam, looping her arm with his, having to take bounding steps to match his stride.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie does make sure to shorten his stride some so they are closer to the same stride. He grins at her, and says "I have been doing the tourist thing a bit. One of my first time here on my own was the trip to buy my Ma the hat I mentioned before, a few years back." He looks to her and says "So, we play full tourist today?"

Prismatic has posed:
"I am not going anywhere *near* Time's Square!" she laughs, coming up on the vision of the trees and the ice skating rink, and giving a wry grin.

"Besides, most of the touristy stuff is either for old folks or little kids. I am a lady of sophistication, Mr. Guthrie. I even prefer cheese on my hot pretzels instead of mustard." she jokes.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Well, what would you say if I told you Ah have tickets to see the Rockettes in about an hour and a half, and I brought these." He says opening the duffle and inside he has two pairs of ice skates."

Prismatic has posed:
"Skates? Oh, goodness, I havent... I mean, I havent even seen a set in ten years. Do people still ice skate even?" she laughs, dancing a little bit on her toes as they go.

"You are a man full of surprises, Sam." she grins, "And for real, the Rocketts? Did you have to pull strings to get a set?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles at her, and says "Ah aint skated much either, but Ah thought you and Ah might have fun falling on our butts a bit." He teases her and then says "Strings, no, but did take a bit of looking and checking to find some we could make." He grins at her, and says "So what all would you do for Christmas?

Prismatic has posed:
"What? You mean if I were in Boston? England? Italy? Which part of my family?" she smiles sadly, "Or if I were here? You saw my cardboard tree. Midnight candlelight mass; there was a church that was going to do Mass in Italian. Then maybe a microwave turkey meal and listening to Christmas Carols all day on the Classical radio station?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Your favorite Christmases. did you alternate between the three for where you would spend Christmas?" He says "Ah have pretty much just spent them back home or at the school"

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis gives a small smile. "Typically Christmas was split between my grandparents. Thanksgiving was *always* Boston." she smiles as she walks. "Saint Nicholas Day we exchange gifts for the children in Nonna and Papa's village, there would be celebrating, wine, and men who dressed like shepards would come around singing about the Christ Child, while Santa would leave gifts by the hearth." she begins, "Abruzzi used to be a very poor section of Italy, so there was always pasta and beans with salt pork or stewed lamb. Lentils and saltfish. Wine, hard cheeses, sausage, dried meats... we do like to eat." she gives a wry smile, "And Papa would lead me around the winery on a donkey as we went and inspected the fences, and on Epiphany we'd go to mass."

"In England, with my nan, we'd get Christmas Crackers, eat goose with cranberry jelly and hot puddings doused with brandy at my Nan's on Christmas Eve, and then Christmas Day Nan and I would head down to the homes of some of the local students who didn't have as much, and we would deliver gifts like uniforms for the school, toys for siblings, stuff like that. My nan beleives in charity being the route to Exaltation." she grins, and she hops on a divider, balancing

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and says "We usually did not have much extra, but we would make sure that anyone we knew who needed help would get it, occasionally it was us that needed help. Most of the people tried to help one another. We would always go out and cut down our own real tree. Ma and the girls would make cookies and cakes.

Prismatic has posed:
She gives a slight nod as she walks, then hops off the divider as she goes to loop around Sam's arm again. Alexis is thoughtful as her lips purse a moment.

"I think, because Nan grew up in such plenty, she tells everyone it is a sense of duty... but I think she enjoys the giving, as well as sort of sticking it to the uppder class." she gives a wry grin over to Sam.

    "I think you'll like her."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods and says "Ah hope she likes me when she gets to meet me." He will seem to think a bit and says "Ah will need to look up to see where the closest catholic church is if your wanting to go while we are there." He smiles at her and says "Christmas church stuff for us was normally going to church but also usually a Christmas pageant and a play of the nativity scene. One yea Ah was one of the wisemen, and was all worried about remembering my lines. Turned out Ah said my lines and half the preachers lines too."

Prismatic has posed:
"So less Wiseman, more Wiseguy?" she gives a grin as she walks with him, and she gives a shrug. "I'm comfortable with going to your church. Your services are probably much, much shorter than a three hour mass!" Alexi laughs, "I'll just pardon myself from partaking in some things is all." she blushes, and rubs the back of her head.

"I was in a follies, once. Sang O Holy Night, I might have been... eiiight?" she ventures, her nose wrinkling. "I'd been at St. Cici's for a couple years.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head and says "Think a bit more things at your church would be that I would not be a part of than the other way around. He grins at her, and says "And often we do a dinner at church as well, and that is usually all kind of good food there, everybody bringing something.

Prismatic has posed:
"Ooh, a potluck?" Alexis inquires, her eyebrows rising. "I don't think I've ever been part of one of those... goodness. All that variety of food,.." she trails off, considering things as they come to the center itself, and she leans over one of the banisters overlooking the rink.

"Well, no, I think the only thing you can't do is Confession and Communion, because you have to go through Confirmation and First communion, although in theory I can participate in Eucharist because the Catholics started it? I'm a little fuzzy on the particular details." she gives a wry grin.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods a bit and says "We will make some things and make sure you get to try it. Think you will like al the different things. Ah should get Mr Zimmerle's recipe for Cherry yum yum." He grins at her and says "Do you want to skate or prefer to people watch?" He smiles and leans over to kiss her cheek.

Prismatic has posed:
"Heh.. I suppose as long as they don't mind that I'm hopeless in the kitchen... maybe I can bring some sort of treat..." she ventures a moment, and looks out over the people skating.

"How badly do you want to have to carry me to the show?" She jokes, "Because I will probably fall on my butt an awful lot, and I don't have much paddingback there!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will lean back to look at her, rear and says "Well it looks pretty nice to me, but we can fall on our butts another time, don't want you hurting while sitting and watching the dancers." He smiles at her, and says "Did want to see if you wanted to go buy something tonight before we go home.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis watches as Sam leans back, and thinking there might be something going on, she turns and looks to her side -- until she notices he was examing her rear end!

"Sam!" she laughs, and gently shoulders his arm as she shakes her head, clears her throat, and looks up at him with an utter serious face.

"You're bi-assed." she states, trying to hold her stern look.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie grins her at this and says "Maybe.. but...we might need to get to the bottom ... of my bi-ass." He grins at her, takes her hands in his smiling at her.

Prismatic has posed:
"You are a gigantic dork." Alexis replie to Sam, giving a small laugh as her hands curl in his, and she gives a light squeeze against his hands. "You are also an amazing person, and so very kind." she smiles, and leans her forehead aainst his chest.

    "I'm so lucky."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and will move his arms around her so her hands in sorta a parade rests but allows him to hold her close. "I have been told Ah am a dork, but ah think Ah am the lucky one." He smiles at her says "I want to give you everything you ever wanted for christmas and more."

Prismatic has posed:
"I've never wanted for Christmas! I was born with a silver spoon Sam. I traded it so I could be what I needed to be... myself. And now I have you. I have a position where I can help others, I have all I could want, and more."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and looks to her, and says "Beautiful, smart, graceful, and honestly nice, Ah do believe Ah must have done something really right to get to call you my girl."

Prismatic has posed:
"What, world-saving superheroism isn't enough to have a good girlfriend? Goodness. What do you have that they don't?" she asks good naturedly, and shrugs her shoulders as she pulls away a little, holding his hands still.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shrugs a bit and says "Probably was when ah got pelted by women on the rivera for stealing away their heart throbs" He grins and says "two alien shape shifters trying to decide who was the best."

Prismatic has posed:
"... for real?" Alexis questions as she tugs his hand, and walks a little.

"See... that's... one of the reason my father dislikes mutants so much. If you can look like anyone, sound like anyone, what's... the point in having any sort of performing talent? Or hiring make up artists? In an industry that demands so much of a talent, that's a death kneel, according to him."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie walks along with her and says "It is still skill, Warlock and Impy were going all over the place, trying to decide who was was better shapeshifter, Warlock won, but we had to chase them all over the world with Illyana letting us follow them.

Prismatic has posed:
"But when it threatens the security of a position you worked for so hard, and you don't have that skill... mind you, I understand my father's fears but have no idea how to assauge them. He was concerned about mutants joining St. Cici's for that reason. An adult could shapeshift into a child, enroll and... not be very courteous in a lot of ways. Farfetched items that would never happen." Alexis gives a shrug, and exhales. "And mum agrees, what else could she do?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shrugs a bit and says "Well even without mutants some adults can look close to being young people. Ah would think the arts, would be something where talent and skill would be the real qualifying part, mutant, human or alien. Now if you had someone doing impressions perhaps but dancing, singing, playing an instrument thats still all you. If you think a mutant can be better and has an unfair advantage, would not prodigies be the same arguement?

Prismatic has posed:
"You're not wrong. Being a podigy and virtuoso myself that does put me in a bit of a bind." she replies, "And to my father it's a simple argument. My musical 'gifts' came from God because he prayed for a child -- a son, mind, got me -- who would carry on the name in brilliance. Mutant 'gifts' come from Hell, or sinning, or dmeons laying with your wife or whatever utter /tripe/ the periodical of the week is putting out."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie sighs and shakes his head, and says "So, he honestly thinks we are evil cause of mutant abilities. Sounds like he and the Reverend who raised Rahne should go hang out in the same bar.

Prismatic has posed:
"Mm.My father is a brilliant man when it comes to dance, coreography, music -- but he is not the most trusting of science, and he is very religious. So, after discovering I was a mutant, knowing I could trust Nan with it, but not my own father was a pretty big blow. Nan's the only one of my family that knows why I really left."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Ah honestly think we should go and visit Nan, as well as Nonna and Papa. Maybe make sure we find a time we know your dad aint any where near but the way you talk Ah think they would all want to see you.

Prismatic has posed:
"... I would like to but... there's circles, Sam. I show up at St. Cecilia's, my father will find out. I show up at my papa's vineyards? My father will find out. I show up at the Brownstones? My father will find out. That's... not a confrontation I want to deal with."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "You don't think we could go spend a day with them and leave before you he had a chance to get there to give you grief?"

Prismatic has posed:
"... we could. But then, what? He finds out that cut off from his money I'd still have a way to travel around the world? There would be questions asked, Sam." Alexis walks, curling her fingers against his.

".. you're the first man who's ever told me he loved me. And I'm trying hard not to be difficult... I'm sorry, I'm not... I'm not ready for my father to find out yet." she replie gently, squeezing Sam's hand.

"... but I'd choose you over him. Any day."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie leans in kissing her, and says "Your not being difficult hon, I am just trying to find a way to give ya something back." He does not speak of his real worry of why he wants to get her to see her family.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis gives a smile, and goes up on pointe, kissing Sam's nose.

"You've already given me so much, Sam." she whispers, and grins, and draws herself away with a grin. "C'mon, let's see if we can get in to the theatre."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and wraps his arm around her, and will check the bag like a coat if possible. He did make sure got them good seats where they would be able to see it well. He smiles over to her "Love ya babe"

Prismatic has posed:
"Love you, Goof." she whispers back to him, pressing closer to Sam's warmth for a brief moment.

"C'mon, my hands will get cold before they have the chance to pinch your cheeks." she jokes.
