Cast of Characters: Phantasm (Drago), Witchblade

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
After an odd trip back this morning, Nick slept for a good twelve hours. Lazy one may say. But for those who know Nick and his tendency to burn the candle at both ends, Good for him! He slept. And slept well. But now, fully rested, the musician could do something he failed to do when he first came in. Check the mailbox.

The walk from the condo is unencumbered, the token tree in the lobby, while pretty, is low on occupancy with the floor space and the amount of people lingering around the mailbox in the early afternoon is minimal.

He has tossed on his usual solid colored clothes, but he's still missing his cap. The hair is pulled back into a ponytail as a result.

Witchblade has posed:
Detective Pezzini's awake and alert. She's absolutely awake, and because of a domino effect of shift swaps. She's got today off. Win. Downside? She works the 25th. Ugh. Work is not fair. Nor are murderers. Still, she comes out in jeans and a t-shirt. Her usual off the clock gear's going through the washing machine, so jeans, t-shirt, and boots it is. She looks like she just got up, too. Hair's a mess, bed hair, and she has a coffee in hand. Shuffling over to her mailbox, since she lives here...Sara stifles a yawn. She's got a gift under one arm, that she sets down after a walk to the tree and slides it under. Much like she's hoping nobody spots it. Still, she meanders back to the mailbox, a sip with each step. Because, she needs coffee. And she splashed out on a $90 coffee maker. So she's putting it to use. Sipping the coffee she goes for her mailbox. Nothing. Not even the dust in it. Disappointed, she finally speaks. "Hey, you got to have better luck than me" she says. Her jacket's on, too. The one she always wears. Digging in a pocket, she pulls out Nick's hat. "Here, this was at the bank" Sara offers and looks genuinely pleased to hand it over. Another sip, the coffee finished as Sara smiles a little, looking ever so slightly less asleep. It's a rumor Sara can sleepwalk to the mailbox and back again, really. Sara's, well, Sara. There's truth to her surviving on coffee. Donuts? Less so. Still, she digs in her mailbox, finding an envelope that escaped her fingers the first time and digs it out, sliding it into her pocket where the hat was. So.

Coffee cup in right hand. Hat in left. Hat Sara /wore/ during the clusterf... that was the bank robbery. Yes. She did wear it and Witchbladed the robbers. Hey, who knew marble was efective against Disney maksed robbers? Point is...Sara wore it. She's giving it back. Nick left it and coffee on the desk.

Her phone beeps and Sara scowls at it. "No. My neighbor and I are not dating" she says to herself as she fires off a text.she gives Nick an apologetic look. "One of my colleagues drove by here and saw we're neighbors the other week, and thinks because our names are next to each other on the mailboxes...we're a thing" Sara says. "You know that's not true" she nods. Sara's single. And,no offense to Nick, but Sara's got her heart set on a certain type of person. Nick's kind, and nice and friendly, but Sara just...doesn't see him in that way. he's like...the goofy little brother she never had. That is how she sees Nick. Lil bro material. Wheither it's mutual? That's up to him.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Very possible," Nick replies, putting his key into the slot, giving it a twist. "I've been busy and Wade is... Wade."

His head turns as Sara holds out the hat, a smile forming at the sight, "Oh hey!" Ignoring the box for the moment, he turns full body towards Sara as he takes the hat. "When I heard the shot I ducked under the desk and started crawling. Thought I had lost it for good." He immediately starts to put the hat on, taking the time to tuck the hair underneath.

His head tilts as Sara starts to talk to her phone and giving an explanation. "Ah." Nick replies, "That's an odd assumption. Also being I have a roommate whose name is also on the box." He turns back to the mentioned object, opening up the door to find nothing but a key and a card, "If I was a girl, would he have assumed you were a lesbian?"

Witchblade has posed:
"No idea" Sara says, "And nah. I'm just saddled with a bunch of people at work who think I need to go on a date. You think I got time with work and things like that?" Sara asks with a laugh. She's not being totally serious. Instead, she's being a little sarcastic and fun. Rare for her, but she's still pleased with the new coffee maker.

Sara snorts. Actually snorts at the idea of if Nick was a girl. "Listen. You ain't got the figure for being a girl. If you were one, I'd still live here and not treat ya any different" Sara shrugs with a firm nod, dropping her voice to a whisper. "Just be glad it's just your name that got saw on the mailbox" she says and checks her phone with a smirk. Point made, Sara nods. "Keep your hat with you. You're more recognizeable with it on.I don't suit it. I just wore it so it didn't get shot or stolen" she admits. She knows, in her heart of hearts, she looked ridiculous wearing it. Totally and utterly not her thing at all.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick blinks as he touches on the hat at Sara's words, frowning. He shakes his head, turning back to the mailbox to retrieve the key and card before closing the box.

Glancing to the card, he shifts over a few steps before crouching down to the package size cubbies, using the newly acquired key into it to open the larger box. Inside it are about three boxes, two overstuffed manilla enelopes taped down along all of the edges, and several bill type envelopes. Crouching down, Nick starts shoveling the mail into his arms. "Trust me, you'd be the worse one off on the rumor mill if that was the case. Shipping is not uncommon in our field."

Witchblade has posed:
Sara's not asking. She's learned not to ask when it comes to Nick, and she feels bad now for making him self concious on the hat. That's totally not what she meant in the least. She's just, well, wishing she could take that back....somehow. She shrugs, "You've not seen our shipping squad. Seriously, I've heard people at work ship us with those cops you see on TV, the 'oh it would be great if you and you were a thing" Sara says doing the air quotes. "I already get shipped, I'm sort of used to it by now" Sara points out with a nod. "I don't get whatever's in those boxes however on my desk"

Mostly since the NYPD has a fantastic mail system. At least, in Sara's opinion.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick glances down to the packages, most of which are addressed to a Michael Drago while the letter size envelopes are a mix between Drago and Shaw, "Looks like just some packages forwarded along by the agency and some bills. Got to love bills."

Witchblade has posed:
"I like power and water, so bills are needed" she muses, her phone ringing. It's one of Nick's Christmas songs. She's humming along without realizing it. Then she's to full on singing. She's never...ever going to live this down. Aaah! Pezz just put her feet in it. She answrs the phone. "Hey...no I wasn't singing. No. I've today o...yeah I know. I know. I'm at home. Why? Ah, nah was talking with my neighbor when you called. Yeah huh. Can't. You know why" Sara sighs hanging up. She's avoiding Nick's gaze, and coughs. Trying, desperately, to pretend she wasn't just singing along to one of his Christmas songs. Which, by the way. She totally was. In front of him...too. Great, way to embarass yourself, Sara. Keep digging, girl.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Yes but why does power have to be so ex-" Nick stops as his own voice interrupts him, looking over to the offending phone once more again. He remains quiet as he watches the cop flounder in front of him. The look of surprise soon twisting into an expression of mirth.

He is quiet for a few more moments after she hangs up, letting the situation just hang there for a moment before he puts her out of her misery.

"On behalf of Shaw Studios, The local shelters, and myself, I thank you for your support, Miss Pezzini!" Nick gives as grandiose a bow as he can manage with his arms loaded down with packages before he turns to head to the condo. He'll return the key to the large box once he gets the packages inside.

Witchblade has posed:
"You get back here" Sara says, beet red. "I was going to agree. Why is power so expensive? And water? We live on an island, if you didn't notice. What's up with me paying huge amounts of cash for utilities?" she adds....desperately trying to recover her dignity. No. That went out the window the moment she opened her mouth. "You....you...sing that....you...ar....Nick...." she says, words not quite coming in full sentences. Or, close to it. She just stares wide eyed at Nick, like she's been caught doing something she really, really shouldn't have. "I like that song. You did well on it" she manages finally. Finally a full sentence, but Sara wants to crawl into her condo and pray that Nick forgives her. Or pretends Sara never even sung.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"I would certainly hope you like it." Nick replies, back to Sara as he starts to open his door. Which, honestly being a first floor entrance is not far from the mailboxes or lobby, "Ringtones are what? $3-$4 each now?"

Pushing the door open, granting a partial look into the shared residence, Nick only steps a few feet inside to dump the mail off on the table before stepping back out of the condo, pausing the close the door behind him.

He grows quiet, walking back over to Sara, "But in all honesty, thanks. I had been sitting on that song for awhile. If it wasn't for the charity album I probably wouldn't have recorded it."

Witchblade has posed:
Sara nods. "I genuinely like it. You did good" she says with a nod. There's truth in her eyes too, as she smiles, closing up her mailbox then turns for her condo. "Don't let anyone tell you otherwirse, too" she nods with a grin. "You make good albums. Or. Least, the one I own....I'm not going to live this down, am I?" Sara asks with a shocked squeak too. Because, sure. That too.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick doesn't answer but simply chuckles as he bends down, locking the larger mailbox closed. For a guy who only looks like he's in his early 20s, he's definitely milking the moment for all its worth.

He drops the key into the drop slot. Waiting for it to clink into the bin before letting the statement drop. "Are you sure it wasn't YOU who planted the idea in your coworker's head about us?"

He walks towards the condo door, whistling one of the verses from his song as well.

Witchblade has posed:
Sara watches Nick and smiles. "You're welcome. Though...h, you did good. I like the album. I got it on my phone and, well, you heard my ringtone" she admits. "Don't even think of teasing me, though" she adds with a look to Nick and his condo door. "Remember I can just bang on the walls if you tease me" Sara says, though her eyes are sparkling with mirth.
