Date of Scene: 23 December 2019
Location: Central Heights, Old Gotham
Synopsis: Stephanie, Charlie and Carrie drop of some presents at Andre Jackson's rec center.
Cast of Characters: Andre Jackson, Spoiler, Carrie Kelley, Misfit

Andre Jackson has posed:
It's early evening, the winds are cold and snow is coming down pretty nicely, the clouds above are easily seen in the darkn night skies. The Hugo Building is open for the tenents who stay in the apartments there, the Rec Center was closed, but Andre was in the center finishing up waxing the basketball court floors. Once he finishes he yawns and puts all the equipment away. He walks into the may foyer of the rec center and sits down on the couch. A yawn escapes him as he leans his head back nad closes his eyes.

Spoiler has posed:
A beautiful, 1965 purple Shelby Cobra pulls up outside of the Rec Center. "Well I don't know if they are still open. I mean, why wouldn't they be open? It's late, granted," Stephanie says from the driver's seat over to Carrie Kelley in the passenger seat. "On Sunday. A 3 days before Christmas," she continues. "Ok, ok, maybe they aren't open. If not, I'll bring the stuff by later. But we're here, so..."

Stephanie climbs out of the car, which has the roof up given the weather. The blond college student is wearing a warm coat and gloves, and a headband to keep her ears warm. She goes around to the trunk, opening it and removing some boxes. "There's some cool stuff in here. I have to wonder if Alfred let this go of the boy's, just what did he hang onto," Stephanie comments of the childhood games, and sporting equipment, that Alfred had for them to drop off.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley is bundled up in a heavy coat and a hat that she's tugged well down on her head. She was still not fond of the snow after the other day when she'd inadvertantly taken a swim in the bay. "Could be, could not be, doesn't hurt to check. Sometimes they'll open for a little while to give kids some food. Depends who's running it." She wasn't sure about THIS rec center, but the one she grew up near did that at least. For awhile. Times had changed since she was last hanging out at such places herself.

When Stephanie gets out she does as well, pausing to stretch her arms overhead with a groan. Then she moves to help carry some of the stuff. "Knowing Alfred? He probably bought a lot of this just for the chance to donate it. I can't really see Tim playing hockey," she points out as she hefts up some sticks.

Andre Jackson has posed:
The front doors are unlocked, though there is a key code to put in so that not just anyone can come in. There is a button for the Rec Center to call for someone. Dre gets up and walks over to the vending machine and he puts money in and gets a Mountain Dew. He grins a little as he looks around for a long moment watching everything. He smiles as he looks about, this place has been doing well, though he does need to get word back to Tim. Yawning and stretching, he rolls his shoulders as he moves behind the computer and he starts signing in so that he can clock out.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie loads herself up with boxes. The size of her trunk, and what will fit in the passenger's lap, are practical limits on how much she could bring. It's still enough to be just high enough she has trouble seeing over the top clearly.

Stephanie makes her way up to the door. She tries to free up a few fingers to grasp the door handle, finally managing it without dropping her load. She pulls the door open, then does the old butt-check on it to force it open wide so she can fit the stack of boxes through the opening. She passes inside, pausing to wipe her feet on the rug inside and then looks around to try to figure out where to take these. "Um, hello?" she calls softly.

Misfit has posed:
Charlie ... well Charlie comes from down the street out of a parking lot having scouted it from the roof ot the rec center as a good spot to plausiablly bounce in from. A large box hefted over her shoulder as she hurries down the way towards the group at the Rec Center doors now.

"Waaait" is the cute and plaintive cry.

Yeah Alfred found a box they forgot so it is a quick delivery service to make up for it.

The box is taller than she is, maybe it is hockey sticks or something. Whatever though it must be appropriate for a Rec Center in Gotham.

When she catches up she leans to tell Carrie "Oh hey.. was asked to let you know to call the manor." which may or may not be code for something but hey Carrie shifts even more stuff into Charlie's arms and goes to make that call.

"uff..." and she follows Stephanie inside carefully.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Seeing the doors open into the Rec Center, he hears a voice and quickly stands up and puts his soda down. He moves around the counter and moves to help Carrie by getting the door for her and Misfit. "Whats all this and who are you two?" he asks as he looks at the two women. "I wasn't told of any late deliveries." he says a bit confused and he does try to help after they come in.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie hears Charlie's call and she keeps the door open, her butt again serving duty in forcing the portal into obeying. "Oh wow, that's as big as my whole trunk," Stephanie says at the sight of Charlie's box. Though Stephanie can't really stand holding the door and let Charlie through as her own boxes are in the way. She steps back out, uses a foot hooked in the door to keep it open, then follows Charlie back inside.

It's like a story problem in school.

Stephanie looks up as she sees Andre coming over. "Oh, not scheduled. Just a couple of Santa's helpers dropping off some donations. If that's ok. There's some games, board games, toys. ROck'em Sock'em Robots. And some sports equipment," she says. Stephanie obviously wants that Rock'em Sock'em Robots for herself. But, charity wins out.

Misfit has posed:
Charlie manages the story problem dance with Stephanie and gets that big box as well as the smaller boxes Carrie was carrying inside with a hurrrf.. before thankfully handing some off to Andre "I'm pretty sure that big box is a street hockey set... "

If Andre takes the said really big box from Charlie, well it is surprisingly heavy for the short teenager to have been carrying on her own, let alone with other boxes too.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Andre moves to help Charlie taking the very heavy box and he walks over to one of the tables, he looks over to Steph, "Oh, well tell Santa we said thank You." he laughs as he looks towards the big Christmas where there are a lot of Christmas gifts wrapped and sitting there. There are a lot, "WHo are you?" he asks, "I'm Andre." he says as he looks to Stephanie and Charlie, "Thank you again, the gym equipment we can put into a storage closet so that they won't see it until after Christmas."

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie Brown gets the boxes set down until Andre can come back for them. "Yes, sorry we didn't get them wrapped, but didn't know if they'd be going to specific kids, or kept for the Rec Center in general. We didn't want to make you unwrap a bunch of things if the latter," she says with a soft chuckle and a lopsided grin.

Stephanie unzips her jacket and pulls off the headband. "This is Charlie. I'm Stephanie," she says. "We've got a friend with way too much stuff, said we'd drop it off for them," she explains without invoking the name 'Wayne' in it.

The blond glances around the Rec Center. "Pretty nice place," she says. "I started gymnastics in a place like this," she comments before glancing over to Charlie. "Thanks for helping out," she says with a grin.

Misfit has posed:
Charlie gets the rest of hte lighter boxes onto the table as well now setting them down carefully and then smiling as she looks around. "We had a rec center, was an old YMCA.. not nearly this nice back in Metropolis..."

She looks over to Stephanie and nods "Of course, happy to help as always Steph." then shoots a smile to Andre.

Andre Jackson has posed:
"Nah it's all good." he says about the wrapping of the gifts, "Theses will be going towards the kids, thank you for the equipment though, that will be useful to the center." he smiles. Looking at both women he bows his head slowly. "I've been to rec centers as a kid as well and they did help me." He begins sorting the gifts, a smile shows on his face and he turns to face the two women in front of him. "Well if you want I can give you both a tour of the place." he offers.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie grins and slips an arm around Charlie's shoulder if allowed. "You know, if you ever are hurting for money, you could totally clean up in the delivery industry," Stephanie says, flashing that grin to Charlie.

The blond nods about how the donations will be used. "Well, excellent. It's nice to know they'll put some smiles on faces," she says of the ones to be given as gifts. "When a kid isn't really expecting much, it means so much more when they get something like that," she says softly, her eyes drifting away before they give away too much that she's talking from first-hand experience.

Stephanie looks over to Charlie to see if she's got time for the tour. "Tour would be great," she says. "I didn't catch your name either," she adds to Andre as she makes ready to follow him.

Misfit has posed:
"Yeah I've thought about that... I think Babs would probably prefer I focus on school and then college if I have my guess right." there is no protest abotu the arm around the shoulder, its comforting. The grin is returned though.

The look away gets a lean from Charlie, not that she isn't in much the same boat about Christmas not really being amazing in the past.

"Tour sounds excellent if you aren't busy that is..." it is late after all.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Andre bows his head, "Well follow me." he says as he begins showing them around the place. The rec center is pretty large though Andre walks both Steph and Charlie through it, showing off the class rooms, sports area, the workout rooms. "My name is Andre Jackson. Nice to meet you two." he says as he glances over at them. "I've been working here for a few years now, the Hugo Foundation put this place togther, it's a apartement complex with a built in rec center." he explains, "Though we've not heard from them in a while, but we have people who come in to help with matinence and all." he says to them. "Anyways, we finally go the pool back up and going again and there is also a drill team and gymnastics class here." he says. "We do all that we can to keep the kids on the straight and narrow." they walk through the entire rec coming back around. "We do have a kitchen and have parties on some of the kids birthdays if we know the parents can't do it for them, or hell most parents prefer us to do the parties, saves money and helps them get gifts."

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie flashes Charlie a little grin. "I was a little hesitant about college at first. Can't say high school was the best for me. But, I'm glad I've stuck it out. Now I just need to figure out a major so I have a hope of graduating in time," she says, letting out a breath that blows a few strands of hair away from her face. "Any idea what you might like to study?"

She follows along on the tour, checking out the facility. "Wow, this is great. Our equipment was pretty ancient," she says as she sees some of the gymnastics equipment. Stephanie pauses there a moment, just looking at the area before finally realizing her thoughts have drifted off. She returns to the moment and smiles over to Andre.

"Looks like you're making a real difference here. So do you volunteer, or work here full-time?" she asks him.

Misfit has posed:
"Well unfortunately I can't seem to major in video games from the looking I've done so far... so well... the jury is very out about it. Maybe I can be a trust fund kid and spend Babs money." she is very much kidding about that. Then again she still has about a year of high school left and could do a gap year or undeclared to try to figure this out.

"Much nicer than my old rec center too..." comments Charlie "That foundation must really care about the neighborhood."

Andre Jackson has posed:
Once everyone is back in the front foyer, "Well this is our place." he chuckles. Having listened to both women, he stretches out, "I went to Gotham Community College." he says as he looks at the two, "Umm...how long have you two known one another?" he ask as he looks to the vending machine, he walsk over with the keys, "You two want something to drink?" he asks.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie Brown looks over to Charlie, saying, "I guess you could write them, but I don't know if that's as much fun as playing the video games is." She flashes her a small grin and says, "Programming, not my thing." She gives a little shake of her head. One area that she likely won't be carrying on Barbara Gordon's legacy.

The joke about the trust fun causes Stephanie's attention to drift off for a moment before it finally comes back. "Yes, sounds like they are doing a good job," Stephanie adds to what Charlie said.

Stephanie follows over to the vending machine. "Oh it's been a couple of months I guess?" she asks, looking over to Charlie for confirmation, though she knows how long it's been. "And sure, a soda would be great. Cola, whatever."

Misfit has posed:
Charlie considers "Gosh.. August... so four months going on five now..." yeah she has been keeping closer track than Stephanie with all the chaos going on. It really up ended her life more than the others when she met all of them.....

"Programming.. I'll never be as good as Babs." she considers "Maybe drawing or writing video games.. that could be fun...." following the others to the front and then nodding.

"Caffiene is great, need to study tonight." despite the holidays evidently. Though studying is code for patrols.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Dre opens the machine and passes out a few sodas, eh closes it up and turns to look at them both. "Well there are a few schools that does just video games, I have a few of my seniors who already applied and was accepted. One is going in for game art, the other is going in for programming." he says to Charlie. "I will get you that info if you want." he than looks to Stephanie, "So I take it you both are done with delivering gifts?" he asks.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie gives Charlie a little private smile about the studying before looking back to Andre. "Yes, deliveries all done. Though we both have some studying to do tonight," she says, gratefully accepting the soda from Andre. "Thank you for this," she says of the beverage, giving a little salute with it.

Stephanie glances at her phone to check the time. "Speaking of, I should probably get along to it. That economics doesn't wait for a girl," she says. Nor do the Falcone's numbers rackets that she's planning to check in on tonight.

Misfit has posed:
Charlie accepts a sodaas well because definitely believes in caffiene patrols. Though she probably doesn't need to be any more upbeat or hyper.

"Thank you for the soda Andre, have a very happy holidays and I hope the kids here do too!" she seems ready to roll out with Steph.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Andre looks to the two, they mostly spoke with one another, still it was nice of them to drop off the gifts they brought. "Thank you. We are very grateful for what you've brought us." he says as he looks at Stephanie and Charlie. He studies the two, "Well having to study during Christmas break, is cray, but I understand. I wish you two luck and this place is open to everyone, if you want to come back, come." he says as he walks to the main light panel. He begins to dim the lights. "Come one, I will lock up as we leave." he gestures towards the doors.
