Must be fresh!
Date of Scene: 23 December 2019
Location: Angelo's Pizza - Brooklyn
Synopsis: Donnie makes an Ape friend! He's like Donnie Wahlberg!
Cast of Characters: Donatello, Detective Chimp, Carlo Paccioretti

Donatello has posed:
Delivery is great, the Doughmaster Mark 6 is good. But nothing beats fresh. Nothing -ever- beats fresh. So Donatello is in a massive puffy coat, boots, mittens, and so much hoodie in a corner of the new pizza shop in Brooklyn.

People are staring, but he is doing his best to ignore them. Kids are trying to peak under the deep hood, but he's gotten his order in with the waitress. It's cause curiosity. He ordered six pizzas and asked for them to be stacked on top of eachother after cooked.

Maybe that's where he went wrong.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp had a job following a cheating husband, and has gotten his pictures, and pretty much rapped up his case. He starts to get a bit hungry, and spotting the new pizza joint Chimp decides to check it out. Unlike Donny Chimp walks in normal attire putting out a cigar stubb as he does "Can't smoke in any monkey fighting place any more in this town." When someone stares at him, he stares back, and says "Never seen a talking chimp before?" And moves to climb up to the counter easily "I want an hawaiian special" He tels them after looking at the menu a moment.

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
Angelo's is, and was, a Brooklyn staple for the longest time. If you wanted hot, fresh pizza that was good, pretty much any time of the day or night, you went to Angelo's where for a few bucks you'd be able to get pretty much anything you wanted. Sure, the majority of the stuff they made was traditional - Pepperoni with cheese, supreme, vegetarian, and the like - but some of the stuff that popped up, from time to time, was intersting to say the least. The Millenium Falco is on the menu today. Sauce and Breadcrumbs, grated parmesan, olive oil, and then chili flakes, basil, red onion, and pork sausage. Kaboom. Millenium Falco. It was one of those pizzas that looked strange but, once one came out and was tasted, seemed to be quite popular with the locals.

"Wait." A call from behind the counter comes, Carlo coming out in an apron dusted with cornflour, a bandanna holding back his hair. "Like, stacked up in one box stacked up? Gina, this right?"

Gina, the waitress manning the counter, nods. "Yeah, Carlo. That big guy wanted them stacked up like a club sandwich. And one hawaiian special. You want a beer with that, cutie?" Seems Gina isn't phased by much anymore. She's worked late nights.

Donatello has posed:
Huh... Chimp. In a sports coat.

Donnie has seen some things But there are things that confuse even Donnie. He finds himself staring, ignoring the punk kid trying to peak, and even the calls going back and forth in back. Trying to keep himself unseen, still, the Purp Turp does the best he can to get the attention of the Super Simian. Folding up a bit of napkin, adjusts, re-folks, reinforce...

The paper football is put in place, mittens are off as he risks his hands being seen. He checks his angle, the geometry, feels for air flow. FLICK! It spins, twirls, whirling through the air in a graceful arc! The majesty! The miracle of flight! The *TOINK!* football bounces off of Chimp's hat...

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp will nod, and says "Make it a pitcher of the strongest beer you got." He says knowing with home brews, you never know what they got. He then gets hit with the football. He turns giving a bit of stink eye at first, and picks up, the football." He he sighs seeming to realize something, and looks over to the lady "I'll be with Captain Trenchcoat." He tells her, and drops enough cash to pay for his order, and walks over towards Donny. "Donatello or Michaelangelo?" He will ask as he climbs into a seat opposite Donny.

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
Money is Money, so the man gets what he wants. Back in the kitchen each pizza Donatello ordered is slid out of the oven, sliced into eight equal-sized slices, and placed into a box that has been doctored with more cardboard and duct tape to make a vertical pizza box about eight inches tall. He's careful to get the cuts placed carefully on top of each other, making a melange of pizza that could be easily taken apart. A pizza layer cake, as it were. It's not the strangest thing that Carlo's made, but it's up there. He does add the little plastic tree to the top of the pizza to keep the top one from being mashed by the top of the box. He carries this out, setting it beneath the sign that says 'pick up' on the counter, and goes back to get a hawaiian special going.

Gina, now that the crowd has started to dwindle, goes about getting the things that people ordered - refilling glasses, bussing tables, and yes, bringing a pitcher of dark beer and a mug over to the table with Captain Trenchcoat. "Alesmith Speedway Stout. Hope you ain't drivin' home tonight. A glass of this knocks me on my ass." She laughs, leaving the pitcher on the table between Detective Chimp and Donatello, going back behind the counter to mess with her phone while Carlo cooks in the back.

Donatello has posed:
Peeking towards his pizza and then back to Chimp, Donnie pauses and considers before he looks back - which is more important. Really the answer is yes, but he's also hungry. But talking chimp.

"So... Accident? Military experiment? TCRI Escapee?" It lacks in tact, but dancing around the subject garners nothing, so best to be direct. "I mean... I guess you could be a natural occurrence? But it's highly unlikely?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp smiles and says "Natural occurrence with a bit of magical assistance." He will look over to Gina and says "Thank you miss." He will take a long sip of his beer, and wipes his mouth with a napkin. "Most call me Detective Chimp, but since your one of Hammy's boys you can call me Bobo if you prefer." He does reaching into his jacket for something but seems to decide against it and sips his beer again.

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
The beer Detective Chimp has been given is black. Like black, black. Probably has something to do with the coffee that was added to the beer before brewing, it tastes of chocolate and roasted malt, and with an ABV of 12% - it'll get you hammered if you're not ready for it or somehow don't have a massive tolerance. His pizza does take a few minutes but, after a while it's brought out on a tray by Carlo, sliced and steaming from the oven, and placed on the little trivet-thing in the middle of the table, giving room for hands and glasses by lifting the tray up about eight inches off the surface of the table.

"Hawaiian supreme." Carlo's voice is pure Brooklyn as he puts it down. "Can I get you guys anything else? You want your pizza here, big man?" This is directed at Donatello.

Donatello has posed:
"Nature and Magic... that's a contradiction in and of itself dude, the descriptor of magic in and of itself moves things either into ranged of science that has not been quantified, or - wait. Hammy? And I'm Donatello, dude." the tall turtle blinks and then nods to Carlo, "OH! Hey. Can I get, like, a pitcher of half Mountain Dew, half grape crush along with my pizza? That'd be super aws of you dude, no doubt!"

He ducks his head slightly, trying to keep his face shaded still.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods and says "Yea, Hammy your dead, bothered your brother I called him that, but he and hung out when you guys were little bit. And started life as your slightly above Average Chimp, but with a little encounter of magic allowed me to communicate with others and keeps me around still." he sips the beer again and nods a bit looking over to the waitress "You bottle this and sell it?" He seems to like it, but then he did live in a bar for a couple decades.

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
"Gotta talk to Carlo about that, cutie!" Gina calls from behind the counter, turning to help the next person in line to take their order.

"No problem, Chief." Carlo pulls a pad from his pocket and scribbles down the order from Donatello, wandering over to the soda machine to make the concoction. About 1/3rd grape crush, 1/3rd mountain dew, ice, then top it off with mountain dew. A quick stir with a spoon to make the flavors mix and voila, Donatello's pitcher of sugar is delivered to the table with a glass and a straw that's big enough to plunk into the pitcher if he wants it to. "Nah, I don't bottle it, but I know the guys who do, an' they ship me a keg every couple of weeks. I try and do different stuff around here when I can. Everyone can get Miller or Bud or whatever, so I pull crazy beers that people don't normally see. Shiner's popular here, surprisingly. And that, too."

Donatello has posed:
"Boss!" Donatello's excitement exceeds his caution as his hands are exposed to take the pitcher, "Thanks dude, you're the best!" looking pleased as punch as he puts the straw in as predicted. "My dead? Hammy? I ain't followin' dude." Donatello admits, studying the chimp, head tilting and waiting for his pizza, "I never knew a guy na-... Hamato Yoshi you mean??"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods his head and says "Yea, after a bottle or two of sake, it gets to Hammy." He grins a bit and then to the lady he will add "If you can get me the info to order it I would appreciate it, I am looking for personal consumption not selling. ." He is sitting with chatting with Donny at a table, and will take a piece of his hawaiian pizza, and munches it. "Was a good bit back, aint seen him in a while, but did send him a gift with two young ladies who seem to know you boys."

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
"I'll talk to Vince, see if he can't get a case or two of cans up here the next time he delivers." Carlo heard everything from Gina and the talking chimp but doesn't correct it. Donatello's Pizza is brought over and set on the table behind, easily able to be popped open and eaten if he needs one, and Carlo goes back to the counter to start straightening things. It's one of the things pizza shops always do - need cleaning up. Gina is sent home with a wave and a few bucks. "Say hi to your family for me, okay? We'll do bocce on Sunday." Usual brooklyn goodbye, which leaves Carlo manning the counter, the kitchen, and the restaurant. This time of the day, though, it's not too terribly busy, and it's easily handled by one man.

Donatello has posed:
Gina is waved at and Donatello offers a bob of his head to Carlo, tossing a few bucks out, "Hey man, have some suds - no need to take it out of the house take eh?" smiling in the shadows of his hood before his attention returns to Chimp. "So, how do you and father know one another then? Did you do any... I dunno did you ever do anything crazy with him before it all happened?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "I was working for some people back then and some stories came around. I investigated and found him, and also found there were some issues needed to be handled. He and I put those problems to rest, and hung out a bit. He wanted to make sure you kids were ok, and didn't want there to be issues, so I made sure no tracking from some of the others, while he went underground, excuse the pun.""

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
Donatello's few bucks are taken with a grin, Carlo giving the trenchcoated turtle a salute. "hey, thanks a lot, man. I've only had this place a few days, but if all the customers are as good as you two, I'll do okay." The cash goes into the tip jar in the back to be shared with the rest of the staff - I.E, gina and the morning guy. His beer will come after the doors are closed, though. Gotta stay straight just in case something happens.

Donatello has posed:
There's a nod to Carlo, and a shift to look back at the Chimp, head canting "It's an impossible one not to make, dude." Donnie admits, turning to grab a stack slice of layercake pizza to shove into his mouth, talking around with ease. "So what didja do? Fight crime? Solve mysteries?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "Well, I am a detective, the best one your going to find around. Back then I was working for the government, but don't really do that any more. I have an office based out of Gotham, and do the whole PI thing. Not a bad gig, but do get mostly dull jobs."

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
"Hey, don't dispargage dull jobs. Work is work. Getting paid is getting paid." Carlo speaks up from behind the counter, sipping on a glass of water. "Sure, it may not be flashy, but it's supporting you and yours, and that's all a person can ask for."

Donatello has posed:
"Well I mean there's dull jobs and there's dull jobs, y'know?" Donnie offers, sipping his Mountain Delicious while chewing pizza. "I've been to Gotham a few times, met Robin. I thought the Bat Dude was supposed to be the best detective eh?" studying the chimp, "But I mean did you ever fight the Foot? Or some crazy mega villain?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks over and says "Yea pays the bills, Just tracking cheating husbands can be a bit blah, but it does pay the bills, is why I still do it." He grins a bit, and looks at Donny. "He is the worlds best human detective." He says of Batman, and says "Have fought a few crazies, more cults than clans though to be honest. But not with your dad, more others in Gotham and around about

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
Carlo settles back behind the counter, reading his newspaper - a quaint thing, in this day and age - trtying to keep up with the news of the day. Sure, he's got an iPad he can do this with, but he's just used to this. Part of keeping up the aurora of being a Pizza Shop Owner.

Donatello has posed:
"Ahhh, ok. I was hoping for a few stories closer to home, but who're some of the nuts you've had to deal with down south then?" instinctively looking around now, Donnie was used to things going sideways, especially in circumstances where the nutbags have been brought up.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks over and munches his pizza a bit and says "Well your dad, and I as I said did not hang out more than a bit, couple months, he was more concerned with you guys safety. As for me, I have had to deal with Manbat, Croc, a few of those type, and Felix Faust, and his type more often. Seems I end up getting pulled into more magical things than normal crazed psychopaths

Carlo Paccioretti has posed:
Carlo's paper rattles faintly as he turns the page, looking out the front door as the two chat in the back of the shop. "Hey, not for nothin', pal, but you took on Manbat and crazy people? You're probably pretty tough."

Donatello has posed:
"Yeah dude, I've heard of that Croc guy for sure, he probably gives Leatherhead a run for his money." Donnie looks over his shoulder towards and then back to Carlo, brows knitting together. "It's been pretty quiet in town here too, which mean the Foot is about to spring something - They had something going out of a glass chess factory, but that's all I know so far."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "Yea heard they were stirring a bit in Gotham, but aint heard much about them recently. Don't know if the Bat and his boys scared him out of town or what. So, what have you guys been up to, if I may ask."

Donatello has posed:
"Just the foot, dude, not much else. I've been jonesing for some action, really, but Father and Leo - they keep us focused on Sakai and not else. I'm thinkin' we could do a lotta good if we branched out just a bit more." Donnie sighs, sighing and taking a good long sip of his drink.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp hmms and nods his head a bit to this and says "If your half as skilled as your dad was from the little bit I saw him, I could see where you could be of a lot of help.

Donatello has posed:
Donatello nods emphatically at that, "Right!? But where at dude? I don' know. I mean I could just start patrolin'... but I mean." he begins thinking of Raph, and all the trouble he gets from that.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "well, if you can get your dad to be ok with it, I am sure, I could do a bit of looking around and find you some places that could use your help, but don't want to upset ya dad on it."

Donatello has posed:
"Then you won't need to bother, dude... He's not the kind to like or let the rest of us go out and do things like that. We have his mission, not ours." Donatello blinks at that, looking down into his drink... What if Raph is right about something?

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp hmms and says "I would think if you went to your dad with all the info you had and maybe with your plans to hide who and what you were doing he might listen

Donatello has posed:
"Yeah, I dunno if you know my dad half as well as you might like to think you do. Granted all of our work is under cover - if it detracts from The Mission, it starts to go sideways for him." Donnie adds, sour faced, "If you found something and I happen to be there though..."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks to him, and says "Well as I said he did go more underground to hide you guys so can see where ya mean a bit.

Donatello has posed:
Donatello bows his head and frowns, chugging down his pitcher before throwing cash on the table. "It's true... I'll need to check in on things - and I'll be in touch aight?" he turns, picks up his pizza, and looks back to Chimp - "You know how to contact us right? Or do I need to leave something so I can reach you too?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp offers the turtle a card, and says "Actually think if I really needed to I would be able to find you, but no aint got a way of contacting you guys yet.

Donatello has posed:
Taking the card and leaving one of his own, "That frequency, three taps and I'll get in contact eh?" Donnie grins and he is off and on his way, with giganto pizza in tow!
