Cast of Characters: Siryn, Archangel

Siryn has posed:
While the kitchen often saw those come and go that were intending to actually cook, it saw an equal amount of those looking to satiate their hunger with a quick bite. Or in Theresa's case, find a snack to help her focus on the stack of papers she had currently dropped on one of the counters to take a break from her 'office' at the same time. Her hair is pulled back into a ponytail in which she'd stuck a pen that she may have forgotten about as she nurses a mug of coffee, and lifts the papers in search of the pen in question.

Archangel has posed:
Warren is more heard arriving in the kitchen at first, as his voice sounds out in the foyer leading to the kitchen.

"Someone's in the kitchen with Dinah..
Someone's in the kitchen, I-know-oh-oh.
Someone's in the kitchen with Dinaaaah,
Playing on the old banjo!"

Entering the kitchen, Warren's carrying a brown bag loaded with groceries. Dressed in a cable knit sweater, blue jeans and loafers, he looks like he just stepped out of a casual male magazine. When he notices Theresa, he gives a little whistle. "Hey you!" he greets warmly.

"I didn't expect anyone else in the kitchen, was just coming down to make a bite to eat. Didn't expect company, but not gonna complain about it. How's your day been, other than well.." a gesture to the stack of papers. "That far behind, huh?"

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy lifts her head to glance in the direction of the singing with a bemused grin creeping over her. When it's Warren that steps in she really can't help but chuckle. "Somehow I never quite thought of you as such a domestic type, Warren. Not that I mind. You make some rather tasty biscuits." Her cup of coffee is raised in salute only to let out a sigh at the mention of papers. Dropping her gaze back down again she merely nods.

"That's the problem with the art 'history' portion of the lesson plans. I'll be the first to admit it can be really dull to read about after the fifth or seventh time. I'm aiming to get it sorted before New Years, though," she assures quickly only to pause. "If you still want the company at that party, at least?" There's only the smallest hint of uncertainty there.

Archangel has posed:
"See, that's the thing with teaching flight instruction. My classes are generally small and focused, and I can literally grade on the fly." Yes, Warren totally went there as he moves over to where the pots are kept and starts to root around. "I'm going to make some ramen. Want to share?" he asks, pulling out a stalk of bok choy to set aside as he gets some other ingredients out.

There's a brief frown as she mentions whether or not he still wants to have company at the party. "You know, I may have sounded like I was teasing when I asked you out, but when you said yes, I took it at face value. If you want to go, I would be glad to have you on my arm. Furthermore, I would /love/ to take you out." he shrugs his shoulders, his wings moving with him. "You've been pretty cool since you've been here, and you are very attractive."

Siryn has posed:
"Didn't mean any offense. Just figured if you were just joking-" Terri pauses in trying to stumble over an apology to just watch Warren as he works on gathering ingredients. A single deep breath is drawn and she shifts her weight back to stand fully instead of half hunkering over the counter. Running her hand back over her hair--And subsequently finding the pen she'd lost there--She frowns thoughtfully herself before letting out that breath. "Flatterer."

Terri offers a teasing smile of her own toward him. "How could I refuse such a generous offer from a handsome man? Yer still getting me a dress, though. Black tie is not something I've had reason to do before." Chuckling she adds, "Ramen sounds good. I could go for a bite of something, honestly."

Archangel has posed:
"You made it a requirement, it shall be done." Warren laughs lightly at that as he sets out the ingredients and finds a pot to start working in. First up, making a nice vegetable broth. "Do you know what type of dress you want, or should I just lend you a card and let you treat yourself for a shopping trip?" Since he assumes she wouldn't want him along while she shops.

"And of course, a dress will require shoes. And a matching handbag. Accessories. Oh, and hairstyle, or course." he points out to her. "Could make a day of it really."

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy taps the pen against the counter pausing only to make a quick swipe at one of the papers before sliding it aside to the one below it. "I don't actually require that. I mean, I was kind of joking when I said that, but I kind of mean it too I guess in that I don't have anything specific for such a gathering. I'm not agreeing just for that though. In case you think that," she mumbles toward the end with a little guilty tone. "Not trying to take advantage. If I'd been raised a proper Cassidy, I'd have had more experience with... Och, nevermind."

"I might need some advice on what's suitable. Besides, it sounds as if you've got an idea in mind already," she points out with eyebrows raising a bit. Even as he rattles on about what she needs she edges closer to get a better look at what he's preparing. As well as to just close the distance between them to be a bit more personable.

Archangel has posed:
"Theresa, if I thought you were doing it for a new dress, I'd just tell you to get a new dress and be done with it. I just think you should be spoiled a little. You work hard around here from what I've seen." he shrugs his shoulders. "I don't have any ideas, really. I don't know what you like. But that's what dates are for, right? To learn about each other and spend some time dancing and trying not to step on each others toes." Offering an easy smile, once the broth gets going, Warren adds in the bok choy he had chopped up and shitake mushrooms.

"Like my cooking." he adds. "I've lived alone for a while now when I'm not in school. And while I could hire a chef? I find it liberating to you know.. learn to make the dishes I like for myself. Though I admit at first, it left a lot of nights where I was eating mac and cheese after throwing away ruined dinner." he admits with a laugh. "What type of things do you like to eat?" He does notice the closed distance and his smile is encouraging to her. "Pass me that pack of noddles, will you?"

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy glances to the side where he'd set the groceries before to search out the noodles requested. "Fair enough then. So long as that bit's sorted." Her rummaging comes up with the pack which she tosses in hand a single time before offering over. "Ah, the usual stuff. Pizza, burgers, kebabs, fried fish. Chips. I admit I don't have the healthiest diet. It's usually quick cook items or what I grab on the go. I do try to eat at least a few salads a week. Soups and stews, too."

"I guess that's not very specific. I don't cook much myself though I probably ought to learn how to properly." She pauses to consider, then declares, "I can make a full English breakfast though." Grinning wryly she shakes her head. "This isn't the sort of ramen I've seen before, either. More vegetables and less instant powder mix. I'm impressed."

Archangel has posed:
Warren looks thoughtful as he eyes a pot with saltwater just starting to boil and opens the pack of noodles to add to the boiling water. "Ah, the college student diet." There's amusement in his tone, then considers. "What's one thing that you would want to try?" he inquires of her. "I mean meal wise, we could come up with all sorts of things to try." Teasing her again, he adds some sauce for broth and then continues.

"I will have to find out what need to do to earn a full English breakfast from you." A grin as he moves between the two pots with an easy grace, stirring and mixing as needed, his wings tucked in closely to give more room. "One of the things I miss about the metal ones." he admits. "They'd become as small as a backpack. But I'm used to needing to make extra room. I'll just have to mind my room when dancing with you."

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy leans against the counter to both stay out of the way and keep an eye on the prep work he's doing. Even if he's cautious about his wings there's no need for her to impede his work. Besides, she was getting hungrier watching this meal start to take form. "Aye, pretty much a college diet. I don't think I quite outgrew that. I probably eat healthier here than elsewhere." As for the meal... She can only shake her head a little. "I'll have to put some thought to that. It'd be nice to try something new, defintely." Before she can say something more her phone starts to go off with an alarm which earns a little sigh from her. "Sorry, I promised I'd talk to one of the students tonight for a bit." The bubbling pot is eyed forlornly. "Rain check?"

Archangel has posed:
"Rain check." Warren agrees, glancing at the traitorous phone with a stern look. "Saved from my flirting by the bell." Chuckling, he works on finishing the ramen. "Tell you what. I'll leave you some in a bowl in the fridge with your name on it. You can heat it up later. Deal?"

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy scoops up the stack of papers to tuck beneath her arm preparing to make her leave. The offer of saving her a bowl causes her to pause. "That would be grand, Warren, thank you." Again she hesitates. Then without warning she steps in close rising up on her toes to press a quick peck to his cheek before darting back a step, and whirling to stride for the door. "We'll chat later!"
