Showing off the Hangout.
Date of Scene: 29 December 2019
Location: Harry's Hideway Bar, Salem Center
Synopsis: Harry and Slim are met at the hideaway
Cast of Characters: Cannonball, Prismatic, Cyclops

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie has brought Alexis out to the bar that has been a bit of a hangout for folks at the mansion for some time. "Harry is a pretty nice place to hang out and it aint to far from the school. (About a 20 min walk). It can be good place to hang out away from the school but close enough if someone needs something you know?

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis gives a wry smile as she pokes her head into the bar, looking around the pub with a manner of curiosity. Her dark hair was pulled back into a low bun today, and she seems a little nervous.

"Am I allowed to be in here, even?" he asks to Sam, "I mean I'm staff, yeah, but not precisely 'of age'." she replies gently to the blond.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, your ok to come in, just not able to drink till your 21. Harry here is an old friend of the Professor, and Ah think opened it not to long after the Prof started the school. It has been a place students and faculty hang out for a while, even see some of the local high school kids here now and again.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis gives a nod as she steps inside fully, wearing just simple bluejeans in good repair and an oversized sweater in dark gray.

"Pubs weren't my usual hang-out, but the football club near St. Cici's had excellent chicken an' mushroom pies." she states with a wry grin over to Sam.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "They do great burgers and other foods here. Harry has always tried to do bar food from around a few places. I have been told he does pretty good fish and chips if you want to try it. If there is a soccer game on, can probably get him to put it on." The large man behind the bar will greet them with a smile and asking if he can get them anything.

Cyclops has posed:
The loud rumble of an Indian motorcycle engine pulls up outside, coming to a careful stop and propped up on its kickstand. Scott Summers removes his helmet, hanging it on the handlebar, his eyes hidden behind snugly fitted wraparound glasses, the ruby quartz lenses obscuring his eyes entirely. He wears a leather jacket trimmed in blue and gold, jeans, boots and a Top Gun vintage t-shirt underneath.

He makes his way in, pulling off his gloves and putting them in his pockets, making his way up to the bar, "Fish and chips basket and a Coke," he says. Scott doesn't drink, but the food here is good enough. Especially with not that many local options to choose from.

Prismatic has posed:
"Do they have the mushy peas to go with it?" Alexis gives a little smile to Sam, before Scott rolls in. The music TA knew /of/ him, but not him, personally, yet. Slipping forward, the dark-haired young woman slips onto a stool one down from Scott, and gives a cheery smile to Harry.

"Hullo, Harry. Pleasure. Sam tells me you've got pub food from an assortment of places." she finger steeples, and gives a bright smile, as if in challenge -- and then points to Scott.

    "But I'll have that. Cheers."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over to Harry and says "Make it three, but Ah want tarter sauce instead of vinegar. " He will move to sit beside Alexis, and looks over to Scott, and nods "Scott, this is Alexis," He ponders which to say first, and says "My girl, and the new assistant music teacher at the school." He is sure the other man has seen the paperwork for it. "Alexis, this is Scott one of the first students at the school, and someone who has taught most of us alot."

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops nods curtly to Cannonball, "Guthrie," he says. He offres a hand to Alexis before he takes a seat, settling in and waiting for his order. His soda comes in a glass bottle, the way he likes it, with a straw sticking out.

"We occasionally get into arguments over which of us was the first. Arguments, not fights. I always win fights," he says, joking. Mostly. "Pleasure to meet you, Alexis. I'm often told we need to broaden the scope of education we offer. More music is likely a good thing."

Prismatic has posed:
"The pleasure's mine, Mr Summers." Alexis gives a smile as she shakes his hand with a decent grip.

"Ah, yes, I come from a classical music background, and I've also been helping with trying to get a recreational ballet class going."

Her coke also arrives in a bottle with a straw. She gives a little smile.

"I'm trying to convince Sam to wear a tutu. He said no."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "You got me in leggings and practicing the things Stevie showed me. Ah am willing to dance, and help show movies and all that hon, but Ah don't have the legs for the tutu." He grins a bit at her, and says "He also always win at pool, Scott here is Salem Slim when it comes to that."

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops shrugs, "Some of us have simply have a gift," he says. "Practice helps, too. As I have always reminded you and the others."

As to the tutu, he manages to suppress a smile. "I can't speak to garb, but being nimble on your feet is always a useful skill to have at your disposal. Don't let vanity deny yourself a useful skillset. And before you ask, no, I will not be joining in," he says pre-emptively to Alexis. "I'm more than content to dish out what I myself cannot take. The advantages of seniority.

Prismatic has posed:
"I would never ask a senior member of faculty to join in my shenanigans and-or chicannery." Alexis replies back to Scott, with a bright smile.

"Sam gets pressed into service because he brought me here, that's all." she gives a smile. "Remind me not to involve myself in your billards games. I'm rot at it."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Oh yea, practice in most all things are a good thing." He admits. "I have gotten pretty decent with it, helps knowing how things bounce off things." he says grinning a bit. "So, how have you been lately?" He will ask the older X-man.

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops accepts his food as it arrives, setting aside the little dipping cup of ketchup for his fries and carefully selecting a fish filet to eat. "If only you could be the balls themselves, you'd probably be better at it," he says to Sam.

"Busy, as usual. The Sentinel business has taken up a great deal of time, of course, although with the constant ebb and flow of life at Xavier's. I try to keep an even keel as much as I can. I took a short fishing trip up to Alaska for a week at least."

Prismatic has posed:
"Sounds nice and relaxing." Alexis comments about the fishing trip, though her lips purse "Though.. isn't it a tad cold this time of year for fishing?" she considers, looking to Sam and Scott, her eyebrows rising up.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit and says "Ah think it is a bit cold in Alaska all the time, but Ah think some of the best fishing can be ice fishing and such. Ah aint never been fishing up that way just normal lake and river fishing mostly myself. Did do a little ocean with Berto.

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops nods, "Brutal. Eight below Fahrenheit when I went out. Flew my plane four hours from Anchorage. Set up my tent out on the ice. Four layers of clothes, including thermals. Cut a hole in the lake, put in my earbuds and spend three days collecting my catch. No interruptions. Perfectly peaceful," he says.

"This fish is good, but it can't compare to a fresh-split trout roasted on the fire. The crispy skin alone," he says, shaking his head.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis gets her basket. With vinegar, not ketchup, not tartar sauce. She gives a brilliant smile and breaks off a couple of pieces of fish fillet, and begins to nom on it.

"I can't imagine that much quiet. I've lived in cities so long that even Xavier's is too quiet. I'm used to all the noise in Bushwick."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Ah would say you had a chance at some quiet when we went back home, but will be honest, Ah don't think there is ever quiet in the Guthrie household." He grins a bit and starts with a fry on his food. "Been thinking about doing a winter camping trip for some of the kids, help with some survival skills, can Ah get you to send me a list of some good cold weather supplies?

Cyclops has posed:
"Never was much of a city person. Not sure if it's the noise or the people. I'm not particularly fond of either," he says.

"A camping trip would be an excellent idea. Conditions are cold but not dangerous. I can have a list of survival foods set up. I wouldn't suggest trying to get by hunting, both because the local supply is limited and because Logan can get territorial about other people taking his venison."

Prismatic has posed:
"I've not met Logan yet but I'm already terrified of the man." Alexis replies with a little dourness, and she stretches her fingers a moment, "But I concur for other reasons. Bribery of the students to smuggle in 'comforts from home', as it were, or smuggle students in the dark of the night. If hunting were required further distance would be ideal for that certain 'in the wilderness' feel?" she suggests, and gives a small smirk.

"I could teach urban winter survival."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head, and says "Both urban and wilderness would both be good to know, hopefully none of our students will be back living on the streets when they finish here, but there have been a few who prefer that type of life style to be honest. Logan aint to bad, you just need to make sure you have an idea on his mood and that tells ya if you want to talk to him or hand him a beer and get out of the way.

Cyclops has posed:
Cyclops nods, "Logan isn't as scary as he makes out to be, but, given that he m akes himself out to be terrifying, that's a rather cold comfort. You just have to know how to handle him."

"Sounds like a worthwhile project all around. Keep track of anybody who does cheat to have 'creature comforts' smuggled along with them. I'll know to give them a few extra hours of chores when they get back," he smiles.

Prismatic has posed:
"Aah, that might be the best part of having power. Distributing extra chores. The windows in the study hall have never been so clean." Alexis reflects a moment with a grin as she points a fry at Sam.

"Urban survival is more difficult, because the preditors on the streets aren't hunting you for food." she points out, "... most of the time."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and about then his phone rings. He looks down and looks to who it is. "It is Jay, I need to take it hon." He leans in kisses Alexis's cheek, and nods to Scott before stepping into one of the quieter rooms for the call.
