Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
They'd flown far enough over the desolate ice fields that made up the bulk of this planet. Far enough to spot some signs of life, which in turn led to a collection of snow-covered shacks, cargo containers, and pre-fabricated housing that made up the township of No-Name - the closest thing to a bustling metropolis on this far flung, isolated world. Outside of the town, several space freighters are lined up on a landing field that is more a sheet of permafrost than a tarmac.

Carol, having restored her appearance to something less other-worldly, stands before the row of ships with her hands on her hips. She studies them critically, taking in their class and visible capabilities. She draws her lower lip between her teeth, clicking her tongue noisily.

"On the plus side," she muses, "There's no chance the people living here aren't into something shady - so we can feel less bad about taking their ship."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue, having moved to stand beside Carol, and since she's back into a normal form Rogue is left to clutch herself since the cold winds are still fairly rough on her. Her white hair and white scarf blow gently in those same winds too. Her green eyes sweep over to Carol after looking at the same things she'd just stared at on the landing area.

"I'm fairly good with shady people." Rogue says with a soft smile. "Might be able t'charm'em out of a ride, though..." Rogue glances up to the white skies then back to down to the ships. "How far away is Earth? Can these things... can these things like travel fast enough t'get there before the brand near year has become long and old, or completely gone entirely?"

Rogue grimaces then and looks back toward Carol. "I don't really know how space travel works. I watched some videos about commercial space flight once, but it was... it didn't really look like Earthlings was gonna be travelin' t'different planets any time soon."

"Yet.. here I am." She says with a heavy sigh.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"I have no idea how far away we are," Carol admits, gesturing towards the craft, "Although this looks like a Xandarian ship - which would put us at least in the same neighborhood. Sort of. It doesn't look like it's been modified enough to have gone very far - these civvie models are notorious for falling apart after a couple jumps. If we were further out, it'd have a whole bunch of post-market modifications but I'm not seeing any. It's likely whoever owns it is just using it for local hauling and transport."

The blonde glances to her side, lifting a hand to squeeze her young friend's shoulder. The warmth that flows through her can't be understated even in a less 'outwardly powerful' form, and it's like leaning up against a hot water heater for a moment.

"The Xandarian ship? That could probably get us there, but if we're going to take something I want to take the best one. Which means ... "

She trails off, walking a few steps down the line of ships before they reach a sleek and silvery vessel that looks like a pleasure cruiser. Something out of Star Trek rather than Firefly - exuding luxury, speed, and agility.

"Here. This one. This is our girl. Why don't you head inside and see if you can charm the owner into letting us on board?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just gently nods her head to Carol's words, they make as much sense to her as she's capable of processing them to anyway. The reassuring hand squeeze to her shoulder makes her show a momentary smile to also show that the Belle is still 'in this' and still ready to take on the challenge, even if some part of her core spirit suggests that this sounds more dire than Carol might actually be letting on for her own sake.

Rogue moves after her, jogging just a bit to catch up as she'd lagged behind while staring at the junkier ships. "Well what if we take one and go to a place where there are better stuff?" She asks then. "I mean you got... Space Friends, right? They'll loan you a space... SUV that'll get us back home, one that won't 'fall apart' on the way there?"

Rogue's question goes unanswered though because right after asking it she rounds the corner with Carol to see the space yacht thing and it makes Rogue's mouth open as she clutches her midsection with her gloved hands holding onto her elbows inside of that black leather jacket she's got on, zipped up as high as it'll go to her mid-chest.

"Holy moly." Rogue says, glancing over to Carol, then back to the ship. "That looks like if Bentley made space ships." As she glances back, Carol is suggesting she go try to shmooze someone who may or may not be aboard it. "I can give it a shot... I mean, if they speak English at all?" A light laugh comes from the southern girl before she starts to walk toward the ship.

Still holding her elbows in either gloved hand, Rogue finds the ramp that leads up inside the ship. She glances back to Carol and starts to wander up it, then vanishes up inside it to knock on the hatch at the top of said ramp.

'Okay, uh...' She starts to run ideas through her head. 'Hello, my name is Anna-Marie and I am lost.' A quick frown and a shake of her haed. 'Hey there, sugah. I'm Rogue. Famous bounty hunter of space criminals, and breaker of hearts. My ship has broken down and I need a ride outta this dump.'

This last one makes Rogue nod her head, she quickly raises her gloved hands up to stroke her white hair out of her cold cold face, gussy herself up a bit!

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"I doubt they're going to speak English," Carol admits, "They might speak a little Kree - it's a fairly common trading language. If they do, I can translate. But, uh, it mightn't be that we need to worry too much about that."

She adds the last part rather enigmatically, simply raising her eyebrows and puffing out her cheeks in a 'you'll see' sort of expression. When they near the door to what looks like the only watering hole in the township, Carol taps the button to open the door with a pneumatic hiss and steps aside to let Rogue enter first.

The meaning of the blonde Avenger's words become immediately apparent. The dull alien chatter amongst the small group of odd-looking humanoids and not-at-all-humanoids immediately comes to a stop, and all eyes (and eyestalks) turn to look at Rogue. After there's been enough time for them to get a good look at the Belle, Carol steps up alongside her and announces something in flowing Kree.

Immediately, several hands and tentacles shoot into the air - some of them waving what look like space age car keys that jingle and rattle. One such alien in a long, thin creature with multi-jointed arms and eyes that rise up on stalks atop its head. Carol eyes him carefully then points, nudging Rogue with her elbow.

"That's our boy."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue glances back over to Carol and offers her a nod to what the older woman says. She'd follow Carol into the depths of madness or the horrors of a dreadful war, she trusts her.

"Got it." Rogue then says before the door opens and she moves inside.

Once inside, Rogue's green eyes start to look around the room and take in the sights, sounds, smells and... - holy shit this is right out of Star Wars. Her hands leave her elbows and she places them gently upon her hips where the leather jacket flares out and has loose black leather straps dangling down in front of her thighs and behind her backside.

Her black jeans are form fit and they're tucked into black leather heeled boots that go up to her knees giving her enough elevation to make her stand a good 5'10" in height. Her hair is tussled, the dark browns wild about her shoulders and down behind them while the white bangs frame her face and the black makeup around her eyes help hight her pale green pupils...

Apparently, it all has a positive effect on a number of the patrons inside this establishment, and she doesn't need to be a space-lane-savvy traveler to get that impression from them.

Rogue grins and looks over to Carol, then back to the alien that she says is the one they're after. "Well hey there, you're our hero huh?" She asks in her best flirty voice, whether he, she, it can understand her. "We're just -desperate- for help!" Rogue adds with an unabashedly seductive lilt to her tone then as she leans forward just enough to give a good glimpse of her goods down her low-cut leather jacket's partially open top.

"That your ride out there?" Rogue asks, hooking a gloved thumb back over her finger. She even glances back the way they'd come, then looks back to the supposed pilot / owner and palces her hand back onto her hip. "Sure its a beauty of a space ship. I'd love, love, looove t'see how fast it goes..." Rogue then says with a teasing bite to her lower lip to follow those words, along with a sweeping sway to her hips, forward and backward, nice and slow...

She's not at all bashful, Carol might be shocked! Or... not shocked at all.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
Carol raises her eyebrows at how quickly Rogue falls into the role. She'd thought with the young mutant's age and Earthly biases she'd be put off by Carol dangling her like a bit of bait. But she plays right into it. The blonde can't help but shrug, exhaling noisily and tilting her head as the alien speaks back to Rogue in what sounds like a heavily accented version of the same tongue Carol had spoken just before.

"He says he has no idea what you're saying, but he likes the way you're saying it," she whispers, stepping aside as the alien walks - or undulates, really - out the door and towards the starship. Once he's out of earshot, she whispers, "When we get a chance, I'll knock him out and we can dump him on the tarmac. He'll be fine. His species are made for this kind of weather."

Later, aboard the alien starship ...

Carol sits in the singular pilot's seat at the fore of the craft, her eyes wide and an expression of disbelief on her face. She calls back over her shoulder into the ships interior, tapping a few buttons as the console springs to life.

"Okay, these controls are simple," she announces, "Come strap yourself in before he brings the local goons."

Rogue has posed:
When Carol translates, Rogue looks between her friend and her new friend and she just flashes the big thing a big smile. "Then I'll keep sayin' all the right things..." she gives him another sultry one liner and a big grin. Its admittedly fun for her. This is the most fun she's had on this unexpected journey so far. Truth is, Rogue has seen a lot of people badly effected by physical mutations and its made her more accustomed to them, she's not a judgmental person for it either, she likes to think everyone can have a heart of gold underneath a sadly unsavory external appearance...

Whether this 'thing' does or not, who knows. But they gotta get outta here.

When he moves past them both and starts to head outside immediately to get to his ship, Rogue just grins at Carol. "So much for gettin' him t'buy us some drinks, Ah suppose." She quips before turning to follow after him. "If he's nice, lets not hurt'im. But I mean, I'll yield t'your opinion on the matter."

With that said, Rogue heads on out too...

---

After its all said and done though, Rogue joins Carol in the ship's control cabin and moves to sit down beside her. Her gloved hands are up behind her head and she's tying her hair back. "This is gonna go down as the weirdest trip'a my life, ya know that, right?"

She flashes a grin to Carol and then looks forward. "I'm ready for this though. I almost wish I had a friend'a mine from the Brotherhood with me. We called him 'Shrooms'. Cause he could make ya hallucinate like you were on some kinda mushroom, just by bein' in the same room with ya. Natural body odor, or somethin'. Raven used t'use him to take out guards, a'course."

It takes her a second but she figures out the crash webbing on her chair and gets it securely snapped in front of her after resizing it to her much smaller form than what this chair was made for. "I like this ship... I mean, I'm no expert in space ships, but this one seems like my kinda ride."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"Hey, I thought we were just gonna hit him on the head," Carol admits with a laugh, shaking her head as the vessel begins to hover and moves towards the sky, "But, hey, whatever works, Trouble."

As they rocket towards the sky, close to breaking orbit, a voice buzzes through the communicator.

<Unidentified vessel, please state your name and registry.>

Carol glances towards the console, looks back to Rogue, then smiles before she hits the button.

"Star Control," she says, "This is the Southern Belle."
