Three Times The Fu
Date of Scene: 20 June 2017
Location: Central Park
Synopsis: Triplicate Girl appears in Central Park to reunite with her beloved Legion members with supplies to get them home ... but it's not going to be that easy.
Cast of Characters: Triplicate Girl, Dream Girl, Invisible Kid, Brainiac 5, Mon-El

Triplicate Girl has posed:
Central Park. Middle of the afternoon. There is a brief sound, a brief rushing of air as a portal opens in an unseen patch and pathway of Central Park. Sure, it's likely a homeless guy, and maybe a few kids, probably a couple dogs, all see it. And, Luornu steps out of it, tentatively, and ... thus, into the past. She knew it was a one way trip, but, after several months of waiting, she'd left another to take over until she could find, and help, the rest of her team.
"Well," she says, the Luornu in white, turning to herself, "This is where everything pointed to. They're here. Somewhere."
The one in black responds, "We need to split up, start asking around. Someone's bound to have seen them."
Luornu's copy in all grey nods a little bit to both of these conclusions, and the plan. She takes a breath, pauses, "Shouldn't we try the communicator, first?"
White Luornu considers, then looks contemplative. "Attention," she says, turning the ring's communication systems on, "Any Legion members listening. This is Luorno. Is anyone receiving?"

Dream Girl has posed:
Lowering herself in Manhattan, Nura sighs softly as she looks for a place to 'emerge'. "She's near here....." Nura says rather confidently. "I know I saw Luornu in my dream, but Some of these sights I don't recognize." She says to someone as she steps out of an alley and....someone promptly trips over a trash bin staring at her instead of where he's going. She sighs and looks about. "THis is the right...." And Luornu's voice can be heard over the communicator. "Greetings, Luornu! We're all ready in the city, but I don' tknow precisely where you are.....can you tell us?"

Invisible Kid has posed:
"At least we have a trace of *some* sort," Lyle says. "That's better than we've been doing. Have I thanked you enough for bringing that gear back with you? Because I don't think I have."
He breaks into a huge grin at the sound of a familiar voice over the comms. "Luornu! I read you, but I'm having an awful time getting a fix on your location. Are you all together, and is there a landmark we can find you near?"

Triplicate Girl has posed:
"We're all here," says the copy in black, before the one in white offers, "We seem to be in a populated, yet wooded area. There are several paths with people walking, and exercising along them. There is some music playing in the distance," she relates.
Grey Luorno offers, belatedly and after a long pregnant pause, "We brought supplies to help everyone get back, too!"
"Can you locate us?" Two of them ask, together. Probably black, and white. "We coud fly above for an aerial viewpoint," says the white Luornu. "But, we're not sure how the locals would react."

Dream Girl has posed:
"No, Luornu.....stay on the ground. However, I'm pretty sure we're stuck here for the time being.....Just....stay where you are." Nura says into her comm ring before turning her head a bit to where Lyle's voice came from. "You're welcome, Lyle." She then thinks. "That almost sounds like Central park." She says as she starts to jog towards Central park.....and the screech-THUMP of a car accident can be heard. A blonde running? Especially Nura? yeah.....that's not going to happen. >.>

Brainiac 5 has posed:
Up on the ship, Brainiac 5 sighs, and walks onto the bridge, before he settles into the command chair, and brings up a map of New York City, gesturing to increase the size of the hologram in front of him. "Hello, this is..." He sighs, "Legion Cruiser overwatch, Interim Leader Brainiac 5 reporting in. It's good to know you're all right, Triplicate Girl."

Invisible Kid has posed:
"I think so, Nura. Let me go sneaky and see if I can spot her," Lyle says, "although I think this temporal zone is more ready to handle meta abilities than we expect. I mean, we're hardly unique. And I can't believe I just said that, but...." He shrugs. Facts is facts.
And with that, Lyle flicks out of view and takes to the air, looking for three of someone familiar. "Interim my non-visible back side," Lyle replies. "You're definitely leader now!"

Triplicate Girl has posed:
"Shouldn't I be saying that to you," asks the girl to Brainy in white to Brainy. "I was sent back with some supplies, to help everyone make it back. We need you. And, we couldn't send the supplies alone. So, we held a vote. And, since I had three, I won," White Luorno tells those listening.
The one in black remarks, "What you didn't tell him," she accuses her other self, "Is that ours is a one way trip. At least, the way we got here."
There's a pause, a somewhat lengthy one as if the comms had gone silent, and then she's back again, "It's good to hear some familiar voices, though," at least one of the Luorno's admits.
"Yes! It is Central Park," offers another voice, exactly like Luorno. "I just asked someone if it was. He looked at me strangely."

Dream Girl has posed:
"Go ahead Lyle. I'll be on the ground here." Nura says heading her way further into the park, and turns on her locator beacon. Then Querl's hologram winks into existence. "Querl? Did you find her?" She jogs as well....and she's in very good shape.....

Brainiac 5 has posed:
"That's the problem." Brainy says. "We're stuck. Every calculation I've done indicates if we try to return home, we'll bounce, and rematerialize elsewhere in time and space... if we rematerialize at all. For the time being, at least, our enemies have me foxed. While I'm confident I can undo whatever Mordru, Glorith and the Time Trapper did... I'm currently measuring the projections on when I'm able to do it in 'Years'. Unless something changes. I'm sorry, Lu." He lets out a sigh, and then says, "Triangulating her position now. Luornu, please stay united, your duplicate form is throwing off the ship's sensors, I'll need to recalibrate that... ah. She's in the part of the park they call 'The Ramble'."

Invisible Kid has posed:
Lyle levels off just about at the treeline. "Thank you, Brainy! Heh. Triangulating. How appropriate."
He veers off in the direction indicated, maintaining radio silence until "Hey! I think I see her! Lu, wave your left arm, would you?"

Triplicate Girl has posed:
Three pairs of left arms are waved, each carrying a rather large backpack, and large, gravity-altered case that allows it's contents to be lighter for the bearer than what they would normally, otherwise would weigh. "There you are," she calls to Lyle.
Then, to Brainy, the one in white asks, "Well, hopefully we can make that sooner. We always find a way, afterall," she points out.
"um," asks the Luornu in grey, "How are we getting to the ship if we can't fly?"

Dream Girl has posed:
Right about now is when Nura walks up to ONE of Luornu....and gives her a not very surprise hug. "Lulu!" She says with a giggle. "We usually do, but, for now...just count on being stuck here. It's not so bad."

Brainiac 5 has posed:
"It's a problem, and there's a solution to every problem, but as far as solving it goes, I'm being conservative with my estimates. Suffice it to say, it WILL happen. But until that time, the Legion's mandate holds. We recover our lost comrades, and we do good." Brainy says. "But I'm interested in breaking into the equipment you brought, Lu. How are things back home?"

Invisible Kid has posed:
Lyle dives down and greets one of the Luornus with a hug. "There you are! Well, one of you, anyway. Don't worry about getting to the ship, Brainy's sorted that out. Well, not until I explained it to him, anyway. But we have a cruiser!" He grins, and shrugs. "Not with an engine or anything, but we have a cruiser. And may I say, you are three sights for sore eyes!"

Brainiac 5 has posed:
Brainy interjects with a grumble, "Lyle DID help with the engineering of the slip-gate portal, including stabilizing the energy flow. It saves us the time and trouble of using shuttlecraft. Did you know that in this century they're still talking about using molecular disassembly teleportation technology? Killing someone and then essentially using their component molecules to 3D-print them on the other side? Barbaric!"

Triplicate Girl has posed:
One hug. Two hugs. That leaves the black Luorno with no hugs, but she's smiling, never the less. "Everything is good, all things considered," she tells Brainy, in response to his query. "The Legion is still the Legion. It's not the same. And everyone is holding vigilence. But, we'd decided to start recruiting again in your absence, knowing it was going to be tough for all of you."
"It's -great- to see you too, Nura," says the grey one as she gets hugged, a bit sheepishly.
The white one hugs Lyle back, too, affectionately. "You were missed," she tells him, with a mischevious little smile. "Nobody is quite as much fun to sneak up on, as you, and surprise."

Dream Girl has posed:
Nura lets Luornu out of the hug...rather reluctantly. "Querl? If I might make a suggestion, there IS someone that could possibly assist with Cruiser's engine. I've been walking about New York for a little while, and I stopped by someplace called 'Four Freedoms Plaza'. There is resides a wonderful team of a family, but also one of the greatest minds of all time, and that's even in respect to you, Lyle and myself......Reed Richards. Perhaps we could ask for his help?"

Mon-El has posed:
Floating above the scene, Mon-El smiles, his arms crossed across his chest. His eyes take in the scene, and his smile widens even further. Slowly he lowers himself on the grass near the get together, and he patiently waits to have his turn greeting all the new arrivals.

His voice shows his emotion, ever so much. "It is good to see all of you again. ALl of you Luornu, of course." Mon nods his head. "And you as well Nura! Amazing. It is great to see you all again, safe and sound." To each of the others, he smiles and nods. "Amazing!"

Invisible Kid has posed:
Lyle looks up and grins. "Good to see you out and about, Lar! Looks like you're about back to normal."
He gives White Luornu a look. No, he gives her A Look. "Good luck sneaking up on *me*!" he says with a grin, and hugs her again. "And I'm so glad to see you again, I might even let you!"
Now, Nura's suggestion gives him pause. Yes, he wants the engines on line. No, he kinda wants to do it himself. Or in concert with Brainy. "We'll... see if that becomes necessary," is all he says.

Triplicate Girl has posed:
"Have you forgotten," says Luorno, raising her eyebrow at Lyle, that mischevious smile still on her face, "That -I- was the one who got into the Legion by showing them how adapt I was at infiltration? Hmmmm?" The story, of course, of Luorno breaking into the founders Legion base not once, not twice, but three times and each a separate way is, certainly, well known Legion history. And, Luorno doesn't mind bringing it up with Lyle, on fitting occasions. Such as this one.
"Mon-El!" The black dressed Luorno gives Mon-El a hug, as well, warmly, embracing him. "It's wonderful to see you. But, I'm eager to see the ship. And Brainy. And everyone else. How do we get back?"

Brainiac 5 has posed:
"I've already had a memorable encounter with his noted enemy." Querl says, "I never thought a 10th-level intellect could be so frightening, but Victor von Doom left me shaking." He's not even too proud to admit it. "I think consulting with Reed Richards would be an excellent idea. I can get the sublight engines working but even with Wildfire having donated a little bit of himself as a ship's energy core the *materials* available on Earth just do not form sufficient containment for a FTL drive. At the very least he might be able to assist me with that."

Then he adds, "I can open a Slip-Gate to the Cruiser whenever all of you are ready."

Dream Girl has posed:
Nura Nal grins to Mon-el. "hello Mon-el! It's good to see you here as well! Luornu's here too!" She then looks to Lyle. "It's a thought. No, he's not from our time, BUT.....he could help us calibrate our equipment to THIS time. Just a thought."

Mon-El has posed:
Mon-El nods to Lyle, and flexes a bit. "Not too bad Lyle. Feeling a bit weak, but almost back to normal thanks to the team." Mon smiles and adds, "Feeling pretty good actually. Thanks."

"Ooofff!" Mon-El hugs the black-clad Luornu with a large grin, and nods. "Indeed! It is good to see you three as well." As they seperate, he says, "Brainiac 5 has been working overtime trying to get the ship ready." Seeing Lyle's look, and forstalling the comeback, Mon puts up his right hand, palm out, and says, "And you as well, Lyle. Of course."

Mon-El smiles at Nura, and nods his head. "Not a bad idea Nura. It could work." Then, he looks over at Brainy, and says, "A slip gate? Indeed. Well, I am ready, if it is safe for the others." Mon never thought it would ever harm him, but he was concerned for everyone else.

Invisible Kid has posed:
Lyle blinks. If Brainy is willing to consult with someone from this backward time frame, the situation is more serious than he thought. "You think it's that serious, Greenie? I thought we were making good progress."

Triplicate Girl has posed:
"Funny you should mention power source, Brainy," says one of the Luorno's. And then, in unison, they all chime in with Mon-El, "We're ready as well." Each of them moves back to the anti-grav loads of supplies they'd brought with them.
To the conversation at hand, the Luorno in black suggests, "Let's discuss potential allies while we eat? We're starved. Travelling backwards in time through a wormhole apparently takes it all out of you."

Brainiac 5 has posed:
Querl hits a console on his command chair, and the pinprick of blue light that indicates an opening slip-gate opens in front of the others, expanding outward into a blue circle, its match forming on the bridge on the other side of the ship. "I want to get us mobile," He says, to Invisible Kid, "I don't know if other Legionnaires materialized elsewhere than Earth, but I strongly suspect it."

"Also, I went on the Earth Internet and solicited advice about what the best cookbook would be to educate an A.I. - so K.O.K.O is now serving dishes from something called 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking' by Julia Child. I tried something called 'Cervelles au beurre noir', and it was quite good."

Dream Girl has posed:
"It is something to consider, everyone. Just because this is a 'backwards century' does not mean we're so much better than they are." Nura pointedly looks to Lyle. "Some of the greatest heroes ever in time, came from THIS century, Lyle. This includes Superman. So don't raise your nose too much, or you'll drown when it rains, Lyle." She then looks to the gate. "Querl? Perhaps one day, we can all gate down here and eat in a restaurant. I had a strange offer today to make me a.....Bikini....model? I have no idea what a bikini is...."

Triplicate Girl has posed:
"Come on, everyone," calls Luorno. And, one of her, the one dressed in black, is the first one through, dragging the large case beside her. The other two of her follow in kind. And as they each pass through the field, they move the supplies out of the way, and then everyone reforms back into one, single Luorno, dressed in her tri-color, grey, white, and black uniform. Then, she proceeds to hug Brainy, warmly. "Good to see you, Brainy," she tells him, warmly. "There's a set of power cells in one of the cases. I could have brought more, but, we didn't know how the trip would affect them. And, didn't want to risk packing them too tight. We figured, though, that power would be one of the key needs, and we were pretty certain that this timeline would not afford the type of power we'd need to get back. Hopefully it will help."

Mon-El has posed:
Mon-El crosses his arms across his chest again. "I expect there was several more of us Brainy. Lyle. I think you are right. This many of us..."Mon-El shakes his head and walks forward as they talk.

As the Luornu's chime in in unison, Mon-El cannot help but smile again. Comforting. Food. Supplies. That was something. "I'm a little concerned as to why several of us are not present though, ladies and gentlemen. No Rokk. Imra. Garth. Jo." Not said, "Tasmia." Mon-El moves forward, ready to head back to the ship. "It is concerning."

Mon-El regards Nura warmly. "At least we know you are okay, Nura. That was very poigant wisdom indeed!" Mon decides he won't explain what a bikini model was.

Brainiac 5 has posed:
On the bridge, Brainy proceeds to give Lu a surprisingly warm hug, before he sits back in the captain's chair. Then he lets out a sigh, and looks at the group. "I am confident that we WILL find them. And I won't be satisfied until we bring them all here. Either we all go home, or nobody goes home." Then he gestures. "But now there almost twenty of us accounted for. Within a few weeks, that's really tremendous."

Invisible Kid has posed:
"Heroes, yes," Lyle agrees. "Tech... I'm not so sure. But, you're right. We can't afford to turn down any assistance, in our situation."
He heads for the slip-gate, and follows Lu, Lu, and Lu through. Back to somewhere he understands.

Dream Girl has posed:
Nura Nal smiles to Mon-el and heads through the gate as well, right behind Lyle. She looks to Querl and smiles to him as he hugs Luornu. "It's good to have you here, Luornu."

Mon-El has posed:
"Yeah Brainy." Mon-El looks serious. "They are here...but what is happening...home?" He says it, knowing that all the rest of the team considers the 31st century home...and now, so does he. "I am concerned that the villains who sent us here are still in the 31st century. Without us to stop their depradations."

Mon-El steps through the gate onto the bridge of the ship, and says, "I have to admit...you are pretty good at getting us up and running again. Nice work!"

Brainiac 5 has posed:
"I intend nothing less than to surprise them, and emerge far sooner after our exile than they expect us to. They're not the only ones who can concoct a nasty surprise. But that's a plan for another day." Brainy sits back, and sighs. "Enough of us have reappeared that I now feel confident lifting the Emergency status. Which means the Legion Constitution is back in full force, and all the usual rules apply. So..." He says, "I think that this would be a good time to retake the Oath, should we all be so inclined?"

Triplicate Girl has posed:
"Well, it's at least good to be here with all of you," Luorno agrees back, warmly. "But I can't say it's great to be here." She gestures to the packs, and the crates brought. "Brought as much as I could, through. Processors, drives, some other tech gear for repairs, and to create small devices we might need for adaptation, wiring and cables, some power cores, and ... a few extra rings. In case we need them."
She looks soberly at Mon-El. "They are. My hologram will take over teaching the new recruits for the Legion, and those remaining behind will continue to fight against them. They do not have the luxury, or freedom, they thought they would have by sending you here. But, they are not that easily bested, either. It's been hard."

Invisible Kid has posed:
Lyle pops through the gate. "At least there's no fountain on this end," he remarks, giving Brainy a dire look which mutates into a surprised blink. "Re-take it? My oath still stands, but if you insist, I'll reaffirm it willingly and proudly."

Dream Girl has posed:
"My oath is recorded, Querl.....I will not go back on my oath, my friend. Anyone that does, were never truly legionnaires." Nura's blunt about that.

Mon-El has posed:
Walking forward, not floating forward as has been his habit lately, Mon-El shakes his head and smiles at Brainy. "Always so forthright. So be it then. I concur Brainy. The Constitution should be in effect." Moving to stand with the rest of the team, he adds, "I guess we are over-due for a leadership election too?" Mon-El chuckles and shakes his head.

Moving to the left of the bridge, Mon-El winks at the Luornu's and says, "You were always good at being a great mentor and teacher. That was very thoughtful, Luornu. Good point. It has been hard. And it will be hard. For them and for us."

Then Mon-El regards Lyle, and says, "Not a bad point." Mon looks at Brainy. "Do you think it is necessary?" Mon smiles at Nura. "Well, that is two...Brainy?"

Brainiac 5 has posed:
Brainy shakes his head, and then says, "No, that's fine for right now." He says. He waves a hand. "We'll table that for right now, but there are some issues that need to be put to a vote before too long. Including determining a leader, since I used emergency status to take the job and Cosmic Boy isn't here. I'll put up the docket soon. In the meantime, didn't Luornu say she was hungry? And I AM proud of K.O.K.O's skills in the kitchen.

Triplicate Girl has posed:
The talk of reinstituing the Constitution and saying the oaths again has Luorno, briefly, looking at Brainy curiously. But, perhaps recognizing where he's coming from, she nods. "Starved," she agrees, not commenting further on the oath-taking. "We can speak of the other matters later. For now, food," she conceeds, "And if I have to, I'll vote three times in favor of."

Invisible Kid has posed:
"It's not bananas and peanuts again, is it?" Lyle asks. "I'm familiar with K.O.K.O.'s cooking." He saunters to a console to pull up some recent readings, in hopes the scans from Luornu's appearance help inform the search protocols.

Brainiac 5 has posed:
"I've made sure the names of each dish are listed in interlac, since I just looked up the one I ate and discovered it was infant bovine cranial protein sauteed in butter." Querl makes a face. "Even though the protein was grown in a vat, NOT to my tastes."

Dream Girl has posed:
"I'm sorry to say this, Lu....but here, because you can be three people....you get one vote. It's a little unfair." Nura then tilts her head. "Would you like me using my power to sway votes against your points when you truly want them?"

Mon-El has posed:
"Very well Brainy. Let's table that for now. As for leadership, I think you and Lyle have done a fine job getting us on our feet." Mon-El tosses his support for their fine work. Mon chuckles as Luornu mentions food. Again.

"Perhaps we should break from here, let our new arrivals get acclimated to their quarters, and the galley. " Mon-El smiles. "Everyone can take a break. I'll volunteer to take monitor duty until everyone is recovered. I don't need to eat right now."

Mon-El looks over his shoulder at everyone. "Welcome back" That was directed at Luornu and Nura. "Go, go." He waves everyone away, especially Lyle at the console. "Rest. Relax. Catch up. Lyle. You can do that later. I'll check over the readings, and let you know." Chuckling at Nura's words, and "tch tchs", waves a finger, and says, "Hey, no cheating!" With that, Mon-El turns and looks over the readings, his hands on his hips, staring out at the main screen.

Invisible Kid has posed:
"Research *is* relaxing!" Lyle says, but backs away from the console anyway. You're right, though. Everything has been so on edge for so long. Besides, the computer has the records. I can always cross-correlate them later."

Dream Girl has posed:
Nura Nal pats Querl on the shoulder. "Rest, Relax, eat, Querl. We may have to adjust to this timeline after all. But for now...relax." She says before heading off to get food as well. "Welcome back, Luornu."

Triplicate Girl has posed:
Luorno laughs some at Nura, to show that she was joking, and tells her in kind, "Only if you're voting the same way I am, Nura." She smiles then, a gentle curve of a smile over her expression before turning towards Lyle. "And of course, some things -never- change." She pauses, noting, sincerly, "Thank you, Lyle. Everyone. It's good to be with you. Let's hope my coming back to join you helps us all return."
