Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Harry Dresden, Mercy Thompson, Kid

Harry Dresden has posed:
A lazy Sunday morning like most any other in the city. It's quiet. It's peaceful. The kind of lazy morning where one can sit out in front and enjoy a nice coffee.

The peace and quiet of the morning is shattered by the horrid sound of a small block engine that sounds like it is about to explode, or seize into a ball of slag metal.

As the sound draws closer and closer, a 'blue' beetle turns a corner. Mostly blue anyway. The hood has been replaces with a red hood, the driver's side door has been replaced with a white door, and the passenger's side with a green door...and it is smoking. The beetle draws closer and closer to the entrance to the shop before it dies a wheezy death as it rolls to a stop a few yards from the front gate.

The driver's side door opens, and crawling out of the husk of a car is a large man, 6'9" to be specific, dressed in a pair of jeans, t-shirt, and a large leather duster. "Hell's bells..." exclaims the man, as he kicks the tire of the car. With a sigh, and a groan, he starts to push the car the rest of the way.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy's already compiling a mental list of what may well be wrong. Then she sees the car. Okay, add a few dozen more things to her list of possible problems, then. She was already under r a Ghia replacing the suspension, when that Bug rolled, rattled and wheezed in. Pulling herself upright as Harry pushes the car, Mercy looks to it. "Hey. You need any help?" she asks

Harry Dresden has posed:
"Sure..." says Harry as he shoves against the frame of the beetle, pushing it slowly over towards the mechanics shop. "But I am not sure a mechanic is going to be able to give me the kind of mental help I need."

He pauses, glance over towards the native American woman and grins "Bad joke, sorry. Yeah, I could use a hand...please tell me you work on VW's? I don't think I can get the Blue Beetle to my regular guy...not in the condition she is in at the moment."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"You need mental help as well? Sure, let me get a wrench and open up your head" Mercy jokes with a look over the Bug as she slowly looks over it. "Yeah, I work on Vee Dub. What do you need besides everything and a shrink?" Mercy says with a laugh. "I'll get to work on her" she adds and looks puzzled for a moment, circling the Bug for a few moments. "What did you do to her anyway? I'm....slightly worried by the condition" she nods. Once a mechanic, always a mechanic.

Harry Dresden has posed:
"You woouldn't believe me if I told you..." Harry says with a smirk as he shoves his shoulder into the frame to get it up and over a bump in the road. "Mike never does, but what the hell...I had a run in with a Chlorfiend and I think it busted out the oil pan. Or at least clogged the filters with leaves."

Harry stops pushing the car once he gets it onto the shop grounds, standing up and combing his fingers through his hair to try and make some dent in the tangle that it has become, and dislodge a couple of sticks and leaves from it. "I just need to get her up and running again on the cheap, or as cheap as possible anyway. I'll have to pass on the mental tune up, I can't really afford it."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy sighs. "Well I'll start under the Bug and go from there" she offers, "Oh, you have no idea. I deal with weird adn wonderful evry day. So" Mercy offers, "You are?"

Oh this is gonna be good, Mercy's already getting a wrench, watching Harry over her shoulder. She digs out a wrenchh and areceipt for the Blue Lady as well, shoving that back in among wrenches and things.

Harry Dresden has posed:
"Harry. Harry Dresden." says Harry as he plucks a few more leaves from his hair. "I'm impressed, you didn't call me crazy, Ms.?"

Harry reaches into the back seat of the car and produces a large staff carved with some intricate runes, propping it into the crook of his arm as he takes another look at the beetle. "Yeah, if you could just get her running again, I'd appreciate it. She's been with me a long time."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy notes the magic on Harry and the staff. The car though's not got any by comparison. Which is odd, but then again.....magic cars would put her shop under for sure. She nods to Harry, "Yeah I can do that for you, sure thing" she says and looks serious for a moment, weighing up just how much magic's on the staff and Harry. That's got her a bit worried. A powerful magic like Harry in here. Great, anyone after Harry's led to her door. On the flip side, if anyone is stupid enough to attack her, hey, she can point them to somebody much stronger, and she's so far down the totem pole she's not worth checking on, too. Being not too powerful has advantages too.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Nodding, Harry reaches into the pocket of his duster and produces a card. "Great. I appreciate it Ms?" he pauses as he offers the card over to Mercy. "I can be reached at this number when she is done. Just...give me a heads up on cost so I can put it aside."

The business card reads

        "Harry Dresden
        Wizard
        Lost Articles Found
        Paranormal Investigations
Consulting - Advice - Reasonable Rates
No love potions, endless purses, parties or other entertainment.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy studies the card and nods, pocketing it then smiles. "Sure I can price up the work when it's done and call you" she offers with a grin, looking over the card again. "Huh, what do you know. A wizard PI. News to me"

With that she twirls a wrench in her hand and studies the Bug as if figuring out where to start. "Fair warning Mr. Dresden. This won't be cheap" she says with a determined tone to her voice.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry makes what is the combination of a groan and a choking sound. "I was afraid you were going to say that. Anyway you can price it and give me an estimate before you start to work on it? Maybe give me a list in order of must haves to nice to haves so we can work on it over time?"

Combing his fingers through his hair again, he plucks out the last of the dried leaves and twigs from his hand, "A wizarding PI doesn't get much in the way of clientele, sadly. I need to stretch out the dollars as best I can."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy pauses considering it before she dives onto the Bug. "I can certainly try, but I need to keep the lights on. I'll try and be as fair as possible" Mercy offers, already circling the VW like prey of a sort. Great, she's going to get this running again...

"Tell you what. You just want me to get this running, right?" Mercy asks. "Nothing fixed on it, just make sure it gets you around? That will be cheaper than fixing all the damage, you're looking at a few hundred for getting it running, versus thousands if I go over the car with a fine comb and fix everything wrong with it" she says, looking to Harry with a smile. "It's the least I can do. Besides, if it runs, it means you can stretch those dollars out more" Mercy says with a nod.

Harry Dresden has posed:
"Perfect!" exclaims Harry, "That is all I was asking for. I mean, sure, I could get the doors and hood replaced at some point, but truth be told I have grown to like her mismatched ways...it gives her character. At least I already got new seats put in. You should have seen her after I got attacked by a mold demon. I was driving around using apple crates for seats."

Harry reaches out to shake hands, "So, I hinted a couple of times, but I guess I will go in for the direct route. Your name is?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes hands. "Mercedes, Mercedes Thompson. Or Mercy, whichever you prefer" Mercy offers with a smile, looking to Harry. "You got a good point, that car is mismatched and it's honestly unique, that's the thing" she adds and sets the wrench down. "So, Mr. Dresden" Mercy says, brown eyes sparkling with determination. "You make a habit of driving cars through everything?"

Harry Dresden has posed:
"It is nice to meet you Mercy." Harry says with a smile as he takes his hand back. "I don't do it intentionally, no. Seems to come with the job though. You wouldn't believe the thing that car has been through. Giant owls, flaming monkey poo, among other things."

He smirks, "You must think I am a kook."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes her head at Harry, "Nah, you're not a kook. Somebody with that much power isn't a kook" Mercy nods. "Different, but not a koo"

With that she grins and finally sets to work on the Bug...circling it again and starting in on the engine. Because 'get it running' means work on the engine and get it going above all else. She just outed herself as knowing Harry has power. Smooth work, Mercy.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry pauses his chatter for a moment, cocking his head to the side and looking at Mercy. "And what do you know of power, Ms. Thompson?" Harry says with a hint of suspicion in his voice. "Sounds like you have some experience?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy just smiles, "I know about power" she says, looking to Harry then her bug. "I sensed how powerful you are. I respect powerful beings if they don't give me a reason to dislike them. You haven't" she says, getting a car jack to lift the Bug up to get under it. No, she's not answered his question....yet. She gets to that now...

Mercy sets the jack down and looks to Harry. "I know power is both good and bad, Mr. Dresden. It's a tool to be used"

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry raises an eyebrow, "Really? Interesting. Not many beings can just sense power like that."

Harry shifts his staff over to right hand, shaking out a bracelet from under the sleeve of his wrist on the left. A subtle movement that may look natural. "Well, I have no intention of giving you a reason to dislike me. I just want my car fixed." he says with a bit of a chuckle. "You have nothing to worry about, I don't make it a habit of ticking off my mechanics. Hells bells, just the opposite. I tend to keep them busy."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes her head, "You keep me busy and a roof over my head, I'll help you out" Mercy says. "We coyotes are tricksters, and I've a few tricks in mind to get your Bug going. Somewhere, my father's laughing at me being landed with your car. I don't care. It's a challenge" Mercy says defiantly and is half expecting Coyote to make her life more 'interesting', really. Watching Harry, Mercy grins, "So, you want me to call you when the car's ready or?" she asks.

Harry Dresden has posed:
"Coyote? Are you a shapeshifter? What are the odds? I know a few wolves, but I don't think I have ever met a coyote. Not on this side of the Never-Never anyway. Well, thank you for being up front with me. Saves me the trouble of opening up my third eye and risking that mental trauma."

Harry says as he reaches up and rubs at his forehead. "Yeah, yeah...just give me a call with the estimate. I don't think you need me hanging around, and who knows how long it is going to take to get fixed. Besides, I should really vanish before I start inadvertently hexing your workshop. Tech and I don't mix."

Harry takes a few steps back away from the shop, moving to start walking away.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy laughs, watching, "You hex my stuff. My father will bust in and demand to know who did it. Then he'll buy you drinks" Mercy calls after him and nods. Oh, she'll call him and explain things. In the meantimee....there's turning wrenches and jacking up the Bug to do. Mercy's got this. Hopefully Harry's not done permanent damage...still, Mercy shakes her head again and ties her hair back. Harry's right, oh he's way closer to the truth than he thinks. Mercy's a coyote after all and a skinwalker. She's a rarity and a good mechanic.

Harry Dresden has posed:
"It's not something I can control..." Harry shouts back as he walks towards the sidewalk. "Curse of being a wizard. Technology just doesn't like me and tends to crap out. That's why the beetle. It's not as reliant on fancy tech to keep running."

He raises his hand in a wave, and starts to walk down the street, pausing a few steps away.. "Uh...where is the closest bus station?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy shakes her head at the Bug. "Down the block, hang a right, it's there" she says and sends a text to Kid. Got a Bug in here, need more wrenches to get it going. Wizard PI dropped it off.

Smart, Mercy...Smart. Bring Kid in on this one. He can probably terrify the Bug into starting on his own, while Mercy gets wrenches. Which, by the way is impressive.

Kid has posed:
As Harry walks out onto the streets, in comes a gorilla. Kid looks Harry up and down, and if the aged old wizard was looking, he would point to what appeared to be a bus stop sign, just down the blocks away. Mercy got the rest down.

Though he does check his Watch every now and again, noticing it was no longer lighting up. He didn't hear anything bout Harry being a wizard, but he just assumed it was on the fritz again.

None the less, he does toss his tool box onto a bench, and looks over The Bug, than at Mercy, than back to Harry and Mercy again. He gestures as if to ask Mercy 'This piece of crap his?'

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy looks to Kid with a nod. "Yeah, he's brought it in. Wants it running. Huh my phone won't make calls" Mercy adds looking quizically to Kid, then to Harry and back to Kid, then the Bug. "Okay. So....he wants the Bug running. So" Mercy nods and looks to the Bug again, figuring where to start. The engine's a logical place. She watches Kid for a moment, then back to the Bug. It's an interesting VW.

Harry Dresden has posed:
"Hey thanks..." he says as he turns to move and runs into a gorilla. A talking gorilla at that. Harry blinks, looking the gorilla up and down, then back to Mercy, then to the gorilla. "Hells bells." the wizard says as he shakes his head, turning to heads towards the bus stop. "This place is getting as weird as the Never-Never..."

Kid has posed:
Within a few moments of Harry leaving, he notices his watch whirl back to life, making a serious of start up sounds. He makes some minor adjustments before signing "Testing, testing." he seemed happy. "Alright, so what the frack is the Never-Never?" he asks Mercy.

None the less, he gets down to work, heading to the back of the car to check out the engine. Considereing it age, it was most likely a rear-engined beetle model. And as he opened the hood...it sure looked like it too. There really wasn't much to the engine - least compared to newer cars. It actually made Kid smile, as it was a simple one - should make it easier to test out what is wrong and where.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy raises her palms. "No idea on the Never Never" she shrugs, inspecting the rest of the Bug. "You got the engine?" she asks with a grin. Kid and her make a great team, really. Mercy's not about to step on any toes. Least of all Kid's. Mostly since that'd hurt, a lot.

Kid has posed:
Kid nods and signs "If anything. It is a mechanical problem, as opposed to electrical like most modern cars. In other words, this is one of the babies that puts mech into mechanic" he grins widely and opens his tool box.

He gently taps each section of the engine, from exhaust pipes to fuel lines, to the actual old wires. Almost as if he was mapping it. He lets out a low growl and signs "Hmmm, nothing immediately wrong uptop. Did the fello give any specific intell? Odd sounds, smoking guns, anything?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"He did say something about not hexing my shop and technology going bang around him, so...." Mercy offers. "He lost a fight with a chlorfiend, and it went bang when he drove up here, was rattling and smoking and banging before it died. Oh and the oil pan too" Mercy points out. "Offred to just get it running so he saves money" she nods, looking to the Bug. "Poor thing..."

Kid has posed:
Kid hmmms and signs "So he is magic. Well that explains alot" seems Kid had no qualms with the ideas of the magical inclined. Or the idea of magic himself. He has had several run in's with the other side as it where. "Seems an easy enough problem to fix than. My bet...just pump it full of power. A new battery will likely get her going" he suggests. Already he goes to check where the cars battery was and begins unscrewing the bolts that latch it in place.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Wizard PI. Harry Dresden's his name" Mercy says. "You know who he is? I dunno anything about himn aside from he wrecked that car's engine" Mercy says simply, watching Kid. "Wizard PI, artefacts found, no love potions or entertainment?" she asks reading the highlights of the business card. "A PI, with a staff rod in the back of the Bug. Okay, odd" Mercy says with a shrug.

Kid has posed:
Kid chuckles "Eh. After a monster hunter tries to kill you, and you have eaten a vampire, this stuff starts to feel Mundane." he signs "WHich may be a good thing or bad" he finishes unscrewing the bolts. And dusts off the battery. He (without thinking) tosses it to Mercy to have a closer look at. He signs mid flight "Can we keep the staff?"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy ducks out the way of the battery. "You just threw a battery at me" she says. "Put the parts on the floor when you checked them, okay?" she asks with a nod. Bettr than flying batteries or 'yote concussoins. Mercy's not a fan of that. Or chunks being taken out of a wall by flying things from Kid. Tool monkey? Nah. Mercy's got a literal tool gorilla. She's checking the wires leading from the dash and stripping out the interior. It's not technically what Harry wants done. But....she's got a hunch.

Kid has posed:
"Figured you would catch it, not duck like a damn rabbit" is Kid's signed response. And yep, Kid still has a mouth, so to speak. Well sign...gesture? Point stands! Still he does at least place the bolts and other items on the floor. Glancing in through a window he notices Mercy looking for a lead. He stops what he is doing and gets a flashlight. Not really needed, but a little extra light can prove useful at times. He shines it on the area Mercy looking through.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"I'm a frigging coyote" is Mercy's comeback. "Do you see me with a cute button nose and a fluffy tail?" she asks. Great. That's a mental image of Mercy in a bunny costume she didn't want to give anyone. Least of all her assistant. Yeesh.

She appreciates the help and begins stripping the dash to get to wires. Since the battery is over /there/ and half in a wall...there's no danger of Mercy shocking herself. So she can get a bit speedy and reckless.

Kid has posed:
Kid signs "Yes".

Never give an illusionist ideas. If Mercy looked into anything reflective...she would see her self in a Bunny Costume. WHite fire, Rabbit ears, button nose complete with whiskers. And yes, a fluffy tail. And of course a white fur rabbit suit to complete the look. Pinky underbelly. She. Was. A. Rabbit!!!!

"Hold the phone, what you mean your a coyote?" he than signs. As far as he was aware, Mercy was just a human who had some spunk. Like Sophia from the Golden Girls!

Kid none the less was watching contently. If nothing else, Kid wasn't egotistic and always took a chance to watch and learn, regardless of his compentance with machines.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy catches sight of her predicament in the mirror. It's not very bunny to her, really. She's rabbiting on about it to Kid. "I'm not a rabbit. I'm not a rabbit!" she says, and wonders just what happend to her hare. Mostly since she nose he's done something, but she's not gonna paws to figure it out. Instead, she's stripping down wires, which isn't much of a shock to her. Maybe it'll give her the spark she needs, if she keeps plugging away? Maybe. She hops out of the bug and eyes Kid. "I told you I'm not a rabbit" she says. she didn't warren him really, but she'll burrow down to find the problem with the Bug. heel see on that one!.

She grabs a wrench and nods to Kid. "Care to move the Bug to the lift? Time to raise the issue and oil be damned if I take a break now" she says. Oh, he wants to play games with Mercy and make her a cute bunny? She'll unleash puns on him!

Kid has posed:
Well, Kid still has many twix up his sleeve. Kid doesn't answer Mercy, or no no no. Kid (very rarely) displays playfullness...especially to this level. As the wrench...well, a new figure appears!

Enter Bugs Bunny!

Bugs Bunny leans on the bug right next to Mercy, munching on a carrot lazedly. "Well, thanks for the offer Doc. But Wil. E. Coyote already on his way. You related?" munch munch munch munch. Ands yes...she would hear bug bunnies voice.

Kid in a very nonchalant manner simply pushes the Bug. He certainly had the strength for it as he moves it over onto the lift. It was lighter than a standard truck. Regardless he does go around and make sure all the safty measures are in place.

While Bugs offers Mercy a carrot "Yea know. You would get along with a doe a know. Ever heard of Lola Bunny? Great at Basket Ball"

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy looks bemused for a moment, wondering just what she did to deserve thiss. No there wasn't anything odd in her coffee. Still, she shakes her head and looks to Bugs, "You think I'm related to that loser?" Mercy asks with a sigh. "No way. I at least can use a wrench" she points out, and meanders over to the Bug to check what's up with it. She's wondering just what she's got herself into. Great...great, good job Mercy.

Kid has posed:
"I do don't know. Let see. Hey. HEY KID!" Bug Bunnies says. Kid looks over, as Bugs ask "Who more of Loser? Wil or this bucket of bolts here?"

Kid considers this "Well, consider how much a loser Mercy is, Wil could be related to her. Least he can take an anvil. She can't even take a little ol' Battery"

Well that explains what she did to deserve this. Kid raises the lift so Mercy can peak out under it. See whats making the bug tick.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Or not tick, as the case is. She's sliding udner it and back out again. "I say we put a new engine in it" Mercy offers, "I'm still not related to that anvil taking loser though" she smarts, looking to Kid again. "There's a working engine in the parts pile. At lest I hope it works" Mercy offers with a sigh. She's not entirely sure on that one now, the parts pile got rarranged a few dozen times since the engine got put in it.

Kid has posed:
Theres a bit of hesitation. And the illusions vanish. Kid signs "Uhhh...do you mean that ummm 1.5 liter diesel engine?" he seems a bit...sheepish, even as he goes over to the pile to take a proper look around. Half hoping for a secondary engine.
