Synopsis: The Stepford Cuckoos interview for a job at the Baxter Building. All 5 of them. For 1 job.
Cast of Characters: Invisible Woman, Captain Marvel (Danvers), Stepford Cuckoos

Invisible Woman has posed:
Last week Charles Xavier had called the Baxter Building (thats what its called right?) and setup an interview for Sophie Frost, one of the young students from his school. Being that Sue is a fan of Charles' and a fan of his school, she graciously welcomed the opportunity to let one of those students come to see her today, for the position of Assistant, which is NO SMALL JOB BY ANY MEANS, consider who Sue is and what she does in this world.

The Baxter Building is bustling at this time of the day, the appointment is scheduled and they're directed at the front desk to take the main elevators up to the office level where they will check in and then be directed to Sue's personal meeting room.

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"No arguing back there," Carol calls over her shoulder, sitting behind the wheel of the minibus emblazoned with the seal of the Xavier School on the door. Whether or not they'd been arguing, it was still kind of funny to imagine the hive mind bickering like a real gang of teenage girls.

Wait a minute.

Why was Carol even doing this?

She'll have to have a long talk with the X-Men at some point. Sure, she'd consider herself a friend of the family, but they must have other people capable of ferrying the students around.

She shrugs to herself and pulls into the parking lot for Four Freedoms Plaza, climbing out and yanking open the door. Once they are through the reception area and up the elevator, Carol moves ahead to 'prepare' Sue for what she's about to encounter.

"Hey, Sue," she calls, rapping her fingers on the doorframe to the meeting room, "We're here. Uh - all of us."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
Sophie of course was quick to claim the front seat for herself so she could try and get some alone time with the heroine turned chauffeur, Carol. The girl was about to ask a question of one of her personal favorite people like of all time, ever, but then Carol demands the quiet girls to not argue. This gets an eyebrow raise.

    Not just Sophie.

Not the girls in the back.

All five give Carol a quizzical look and then all ten eyes gloss over white for a quick moment.

"No one is arguing miss Danvers." Sophie says, hands clasped and resting on her pleated skirt.

All five quietly climb out of the van and move into a circle pattern behind Carol as the oldest blonde leads the way, though the girls in the back look upwards to the building tops and at the other people in the room which, all clear an unusual path for Carol to lead them through.

"Carol and Sue. This is a treat." Says Phoebe in the back.

Invisible Woman has posed:
Carol Danvers leading a troupe of young blonde girls into the Baxter Building certainly draws some attention, as its likely that Carol's face alone is easily recognized in the middle of Manhattan, but the 5 girls she's got with her just make the whole situation look a little more... interesting? Its not even often you see twins, let alone whatever the hell the word for 5 identical people are.

So the journey through the building is an interesting one, to say the least.

When they arrive at the meeting room, they're escorted by a young brunette woman with glasses and her hair tied up, wearing a headset and a business casual suite. Her name is Merrigold, though she just go by Merri.

Carol thanks Merri and then stands up from the table and moves over to Carol to smile at her. "I didn't know they were sending you as the driver." She says, her smile turning into a sly half grin. "Good to see you, Carol. I heard about the New Years thing. Glad you're okay."

"I--" Sue cuts herself off when she sees the five girls file into the meeting room. "I... think I didn't get the full rundown on what I agreed to, so it would seem." Her blue eyes go to Carol and they sparkle with an inner amusement, her grin returns then and she looks toward the 5 girls then.

Her hand is offered to each one of them in-turn. Is this one person who has a mutation she doesn't understand? Or 5 different girls? She's not sure, but she goes with it.

"Sue Storm, or Richards, whichever you're accustomed to."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"There's still a lot to work out," Carol admits about New Years Eve, "If that man of yours can tear him away from whatever dimension he's currently fixated on, I'm sure we could use the help. Let him know from me, huh?"

That said, Carol steps aside to let the Cuckoos make their way in. It's their interview afterall, and she's not going to do it for them. She's just here as moral support. Sue's reaction does net a grin from Carol, though, who begins to point at the Cuckoos one by one.

"Sophie, Irma, Esme, Celeste, aaaand ... that's Phoebe, in the back there."

However she came to master that particular puzzlebox of a name game is anyone's guess.

"They do everything together. They share a consciousness ... sort of. I'll let them explain it."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
    "Sophie."
    "Celeste."
    "Phoebe."
    "Irma."
    Esme."

Each girl pauses at Sue's hand in order to shake politely like Scott and Hank taught them and they all smile moving over to the table for the interview, each taking a chair next to the other one except for Sophie. She remains standing in a sort of 'power move' in order to stay close to Carol and Sue. "We don't do everything together miss Danvers, and Miss... Storm-Richards, we truely have no preferences for much of anything, so you would have to be the one to decide what name you go by."

"Miss Danvers is correct though, in a way, we're telepaths, much like our sister, and yet as our minds can become one they actually enhance exponentially our abilities. So individual we are strong, together we are, as Xavier put it, incredible."

Invisible Woman has posed:
Another light half smirk is shown to Carol then as Sue now stands shoulder to shoulder with her. This room has a lot of blond hair in it right now.

"If I can manage to get Reed out of his lab for longer than a half a minute, I'd tell him to get his buttocks over to help you guys out... but... yeah, its a challenge. Every day is a challenge, and a winding road, or something." She exhales then and slaps her hands down against the sides of the black skirt she's wearing.

Her eyes go back to the 5 quintuplets and she just gawks at them as its all laid out and explained to her. When Sophie speaks then and says further, Sue has to lean over toward Carol and whisper. "I love everything about this." She says, simply because its... well, its just great.

A big smile is shown to the girls then and Sue motions for Sophie to have a seat. "Well then, lets get started. Now, you all have to realize that this position is only for one person though... thats what I told the Professor is that we had a job opening for an Assistant, but that... is generally just a single person."

Sue moves to sit and the motions for Carol. "You're welcome to stay and join us, if you'd like."

Captain Marvel (Danvers) has posed:
"I've met Frankie and Val," Carol whispers back to Sue, "I know how you feel about blonde kids."

Still grinning, Carol moves out of the way and lets the interview with Sue begin. She's admittedly curious as to just how the five girls plan to interview for the role - or how they'd plan to perform it if they were hired. The complications of the Cuckoos lives (life?) are kind of fascinating to her.

When the offer to stay is made, Carol shrugs her shoulders and nods her head. Arms folded across her stomach, she leans back against the wall.

"Sure thing. Just pretend I'm not here."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"We will need a ride home as SOMEONE hasn't gotten her license yet." Sophie says towards Carol but ends her thought with a glare towards Irma.

Irma sits in her chair, leans back and crosses her arms below her chest in a huff.

Sophie does do as Sue requests and sits down opposite of where she thinks Sue will.

"We are aware this is for one person." "But we're better than one." "We're five." Sophie says with Celeste bringing up the 'but' and Phoebe answering the last thought.

Invisible Woman has posed:
Sue shows Carol a light grin as she too settles in at the table in and amongst the rest of them. At the concern of a ride, Sue shows them all a grin and a light shake of her head. "If transportation is an issue, we can arrange a company car, it won't be a problem, I assure you all."

She states then as she glances down to the glass tablet in front of her that she taps the screen of to activate it and then looks to that of Sophie. She smiles to her. "I've had five people in my employ before who I'd say were far less useful than a single other member of my staff. So that simplistic math doesn't always pan out when it comes to the people who've worked here in the past. But that being said. I'm sure you and your sisters are far more capable than they were."

"My question for you... for each of you... is as follows then." She pauses momentarily. "What would you hope to achieve from working here with us? What would you want to get out of the experience?"

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
Sophie takes a brief moment to look down the row to all her sisters and then looks back to Carol and whispers, "We will not be able to pretend you aren't here, you're mind is quite loud." Then the telepathic clones look to Sue and all smile in unison.

Sophie is the only girl to speak and she says for all of them, "We'd like to get out of Xavier's school and gain some real world and maybe even some supernatural experiences as well as learn how you, you and others like you." Sophie motions towards Carol, "Opperate as women and heroine. We seek strong experiences from strong women so that we may become the same in regards."

Invisible Woman has posed:
A little smirk is given to Carol when Sophie speaks of the volume of the Captain's mind, but her eyes sweep back over to the vocal of the quintuplets and her response to the posed question.

"I admire that." Sue replies to Sophie. "I, and I'm sure Captain Danvers here as well, enjoy being the best role models we can be for young women in the world. We hope to inspire others to do their very best in life, to reach as far as they can and all of that jazz."

Sue leans back in her chair then and folds her hands together across her lap. "Your response though, sounds more like you're applying for a super hero team though, if you don't mind me saying. Is that something the five of you are after?" She sweeps her blue eyed gaze over all five of them. "Do you aspire to become Avengers, Justice Seekers, or something else?" It doesn't relate to the job, per-se, but Sue's intrigued now by these girls.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
Irma and Esme both look away at the question posed by Sue and yet Sophie nods almost emphatically, "We very much do." Sophie states with a sort beam to her eyes that she seems to infect the others with as Phoebe and Celeste also have the same sort of look in their eyes.

"We'd like to be, how Samuel put it, Big Damn Heroes, but really we just want to help others that are less capable of doing so for themselves."

Sophie then shakes her head and frowns slightly, "Though I feel we didn't answer the first question fully. We want to learn how better to deal with more, normal, types of people." Sophie confides as well.

Invisible Woman has posed:
The 'Big Damn Heroes' line makes Sue show another uneven grin at the charming youthfulness of that desire. Something she herself used to dream of doing when she was their age. "I hear ya loud and clear there."

Sue then goes on to listen to the last bit which makes her shake her head. "I don't think a day goes by that i don't also want to know how to deal with the more 'normal types' of people. But to be honest with all of you, I'm not sure there really is a normal type. I've interacted with more people than I can count, and I can count really really high. What I've taken away from it is that normal is an illusion, its something that the Nightly News and Dish Soap commercials try to hammer into all of our heads, but in actual practice... interacting with people on a face to face basis? You just see how damn strange everyone in this world really is, in their own beautifully unique ways."

"But!" Sue then raises a hand with her index finger aimed skyward. "I know what sentiment you're chasing there... and if you all did gain employment here, then you'd be interacting with a very wide variety of people. I promise you that."

A pause, then she continues.

"How well do you work under pressure? Would you say any of you are quick to anger or frustration, especially when dealing with the normies?"

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"We are used to ... how you put... a variety of people." Sophie says with a kind of smile that belies that she is underselling the statement by miles.

"We are well suited to working under pressure as you say." Celeste points out as Phoebe lifts up her right hand and like she's looking at her nails, the girl's skin turns into diamond, organic, living, almost fluid diamond. "Physical and mental pressures is what we're almost designed for Misses Storm-Richards." Esme says with a kind smile while showing off her sister's talent.

Invisible Woman has posed:
Sue is nodding her head gently to the girls' words when the diamond form transition occurs and she leans forward in her chair and sits up straight. Her eyes go from the diamondy girl then to Carol and then back to the girl.

"I love this." She states then, apparently better swayed by such an interesting and uniquely 'them' ability.

"Call me Sue. Or Susan. Whatever you prefer."

"To be honest, girls, you all intrigue me. I'm not sure I can hire all five of you to work on the same day however. I could likely swing too a day, maybe three, but having all five of you I'm sure I'd even have enough to keep you busy. But its possible. It would depend on how the next quarter goes, and if we get more job openings in similar places that we could then spread your services out within."

"Do you /have/ steady transportation too and from Xavier's School? Its at least a 40 minute drive away after all. Barring New York traffic of course."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"We do have steady transportation." Phoebe responds as she shifts her left hand back to flesh from diamond.

Esme says "We did say earlier that's for you to decide what to be called. We really do not have preferences."

Sophie then speaks up, "We are aware the position is for one person and as it stands, we figure you wouldn't be able to tell one sister from the other four, so we were planning on taking turns." The girl says with a hint of a devious grin in her piercing blue eyes.

Irma though has turned her head and is staring at Carol unblinkingly for a very long time.

Invisible Woman has posed:
Sue has a soft smile on her face then as she considers the girls and follows Irma's gaze to see her just staring at Carol, assuredly reading the woman's mind? She looks back to the most vocal of them though, in Sophie.

"That would be a unique arrangement, but I think it'd be swingable. If nothing else we could just pass you all off as the same person to anyone who's confused by it." She smirks then at Sophie before she moves to stand up. "We'll give it a shot, see how it goes. If more openings come up and any of you want to branch out to have a job that isn't shared, well then we'll explore that when and if it comes up."

Sue offers a hand over to Sophie then, assuming her to be the leader of the troupe now. She looks to Carol then. "Would you all like to go grab some lunch? I'd love to learn a little more about you and where you all come from."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"We do have a few questions first before we make this official Misses Storm-Richards." Esme beings before Celeste asks,
"What duties would be expected of us as your assistant?"

Sophie, Esme, Celeste and Phoebe all lock eyes onto Sue then, in perfect harmony and still Irma keeps her blue eyes locked onto Carol but she mouses, "I would like some lunch, but Carol is debating if she should say how she's hungry for bread but she knows it's not the best for her."

Invisible Woman has posed:
Sue was starving, admittedly, she hadn't eaten anything all day. So she's already on her way toward the door and motioning for them all to come with her. "I'll detail it all out on the way. Basicall you'll be my assistants and you'll help me organize my day, run errands for me that I need done such as deliver messages and items directly to people here in the building. I might need you to correspond for me as well, such as deal with low level meetings and simply take notes for me if I'm not able to attend them myself."

When Sue opens the door she signals to Merrigold who is the floor attendant and deals with all activities on this particular floor. "Have a car pulled around for us? One of the SUVs."

"Yes, ma'am." Merri says and shuffles off.

Sue smiles then to the girls and Carol. "This will be fun, I promise. It'll be a great learning experience too, trust me, I learn something new every day here."
