Cast of Characters: Beast, Martian Manhunter

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy can't teach every science class, even if the students might benefit from it. But he helps out when he can. Aware that this 6th grade general physical science class is going to have a special presentation. So, Hank shows up early, sitting in the front of the classroom, in the corner, watching as students, and finally the teacher, arrive.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn walks into the classroom shapeshifted, as always when at Xaviers, as John Green, the science teacher in his late twenties always dressed in impeccable suits and oftentimes with a smile on his lips! "morning, everyone!" he greets, walking towards the front of the class, flashing a smile at Henry "and thanks for being here, I appreciate it" he says in a lower voice, stepping behind his desk at the front of the class and turning on the screen behind him with a remote located on the desk itself. "soo, during the last lesson, we discussed the fact that nature makes things based on their purpose, hm? And even if speaking about human physiology is, probably, a bit complicated for now, we will see about proving my point, today..." he projects the first image, that of a caucasic man, then the second image, that of a northafrican man. "anyone know why nature chose to give us different skin colors? Because I'm pretty sure it's not just for aestetics..."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy listens and watches, folding his arms as this talk begins. Looking to the kids, as talk of colors starts, he does play around a bit. Then holding out his arms, looking at them, then looking to the kids and shrugging. Some of them giggle.

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn glances at Henry, and it's hard to stiffle a chuckle! On the screen, the image changes to show a simplistic explanation about melanine, what is it, what does it do, why it protects the skin! "Henry, could you add a bit more to that?" he asks

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy gets up, and walks in frnot of the class, beside J'onn. "The important thing to understand is that the color of our skin is an artifact of genetic chance. Just like I'm blue due to a scientific accident. The rest of us get our colors just by what genes we happen to have gotten. I joke, but there's a real lesson to be had here."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
"and genes, especially here, have quite a high importance..." J'onn continues, switching to the next image "we start with a package of genetically decided things, that determine a serie of factors about our bodies. Like height potential, color of our eyes, our hair, skin, weight, muscle mass... We may be predisposed, but it's up to us in some cases to actually make them happen! I could be genetically predisposed to be muscular but if I don't train I'll still strain lifting the shopping bags, empty..."

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy starts the flashy part of the presentation. He goes into a coat pocket, and pulls out a remote. Then tapping at it, the lights dim, and a holographic display projects in front of the teachers and the students, in the air between them. "This complex spiraly structure is what DNA looks like. DNA stands for Deoxyribonucleic Acid. It's the chemical that drives every cell in our bodies." The display spins, very colorful and flashy, and definitely gets some 'oohs'.

"The best scientists in the world didn't understand it until the mid 20th century. Not even 100 years ago. So don't worry if that looks far too complicated. Your clas is going to study the very basics of genetics, but remember that deep down, there's some pretty amazing chemistry going on there."

Martian Manhunter has posed:
J'onn sits back on his chair, watching the display himself! That's certainly a nice trick, there. For now he just falls quiet, even if, some pens from his desk start idly floating upwards, rearranging themselves in a structure not unlike the spiral of dna. Thanks to telekinesis and its subtle uses!

Beast has posed:
Henry McCoy lets the class be impressed a bit, then moves the holographic display to be in the corner, as motivation. "And now class, time to learn the basics of heredity. How would you like an example involving the Queen of England?" He winks, nods to J'onn, and hands him a class full of kids eager to learn.
