Synopsis: Lorna and Roberto are kidnapped! (Savage Lands start!)
Cast of Characters: Polaris, Sunspot

Polaris has posed:
The plane touched down, landing without incident from all appearances outside. Inside was another matter as the Princess of Genosha went through a panic attack all over again. She was once more wrapped around Roberto's frame, holding on for dear life and hyperventilating before the plane rolled to a halt. But they made it. She was definitely calling Blink for a portal home, there was nothing worth putting herself through that again.

The letter had come with instructions on where to go and who would be waiting and so on and so forth. After the plane, it was to the visitor's pick up and drop off at the airport. A car would be waiting there, with a sign 'Dane' to take the couple off to meet with her supposed sister. It was suspicious, certainly in the extreme.. but the whole chronicle of events already was. Lorna waved it off, shaky and still green in the face as they exited the plane and their belongings were unloaded.

"Oh I look terrible.." The green haired Princess grumbled. "I should be happy, I might have a sister.. and I feel like I want to curl up and puke." She continued, wheeling her bag along beside her as they exited the more private area of the airport that they'd touched down in. After all, they weren't traveling something commercial and things like crowds were hardly an issue..

Sunspot has posed:
Roberto looks somewhat disheveled himself. Due to a magnetic princess clinging to him for the last fifteen minutes. There might have been static electricity involved, too. Certainly there were some aurora-like nice lights.

Being a man ready for everything, he is combing his hair back into perfection using a pocket hair comb on the way out. Maybe he wants to look good for Lorna's sister. Only thing, he doesn't believe there is a sister involved.

"Lets be real, she could have used a phone and arranged a video conference call," points out Roberto. "It has to be something else..." on the other hand Magneto and the X-Men know they are here. If it is an ambush, it is a dumb one. Lorna could have asked anyone, even magneto, or Wolverine, to come with her.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shrugged, yawning softly as she leaned against her boyfriend's arm. She reached up with both hands to shake out her green curls, and moved to drag her wheeling suitcase along with her. "Sure, but my father admitted that it was possible. He didn't know my mother had me per say.. She broke things off around the time she gave birth. So my father knew that I kind of existed but not the details. And well.." She shrugged, and grimaced. At least it was warm outside. The humid air swept through her hair and billowed her clothes out.

"Who would attack me openly? It'd start an international incident. She has to assume that I wouldn't come alone." She checked her phone as she walked, digging it out of her pocket. "I've already left a message saying we landed." She added.

The Princess continued to doors, swinging it open with a wave of her hand and stepping into the air conditioned hall of the private entrance to the airport.

Sunspot has posed:
"Plenty of people who care nothing for international politics and hate mutants, Magneto or the X-Men," Roberto was going to go over the list, but really, it is -too- long. Of course, most wouldn't be bold enough of doing it like this, because it is attacking Magneto and the X-Men. And Lorna has few personal enemies. At least Roberto thinks so.

That leaves those who are bold or crazy enough.

At the private entrance there are a couple security guards that are pretty much there just to verify Lorna and Roberto are who they are supposed to be. There is no attempt to search the bags. Anything there is unlikely to be as dangerous as Polaris herself. Besides, they are V.I.P. visitors. "I rented a car," comments the young man. "It should be waiting for us at the gates."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna grinned as she stifled a laugh, being on solid ground again seemed to do the woman wonders for the green tint to her cheeks and complexion that had had no business being there. She shook her head, "Yes, I know, it's a long list. It's why my father asked Blink to be my bodyguard. But c'mon, are you gonna tell me that you're not fully capable of taking that role for a few hours?" She teased, and twisted her hair back from her face against the wind as they stepped into the private entrance.

The coolness of the AC and the fans that blew the humid air back having tossed her hair back into face once more.

"Between the two of us I'd say we make a pretty good team." She added, and shrugged, "But I might be biased." She mused, and she nodded politely to the few guards they passed after ID's were checked and they were ushered out through the halls.

"Aw, a car? Hmm, knowing you it's something fast." As they two made their way through the airport's private halls and to the VIP gates, there was little cause of concern. It was an airport after all, filled with people going their own way and with plenty of noise after they left the private sections of the halls and floors for the outside. The car was idling with a valet standing there, willing and ready to get their bags loaded if necessary.

Sunspot has posed:
Roberto smirks at the bodyguard role he has been assigned. Actually he has already taken all the precautions he could. Including pressing to the city hall to increase security in the area and sending a private eye ahead. But there was nothing to find, apparently.

"There wasn't much to pick here," mentions Roberto, regarding the car. It is a green Ranger Rover. "So I went for something able to handle the local roads. Which I was told aren't great."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna tilted her head, considering the Range Rover with a arched brow. "This is definitely not what I considered when you said you'd rented a car. It's not even vroom-y" She teased, but the luggage was loaded into the back as she eyed it. Her head tilted to the side. From where the couple stood a small, teenage girl came running up, her clothes were simple, nondescript, and she carried a folded piece of cardboard.

"Dane?" She asked, hold out the sign, she repeated her question. And looked between Lorna to Roberto and back to Lorna, staring with intent at the green hair piled on top of the Princess' head.

Lorna turned around, blinking and offered a hesitant smile. "Yes? I'm Lorna. Are you looking for me?" She offered, her voice gentle, but holding a fair amount of suspicion. The teenager looked perplexed, and as if struggling to understand what Lorna had just asked. Which was possible.. Argentina wasn't an English majority country after all. And the girl looked local enough.

Sunspot has posed:
"Gravel roads, princess," points out Roberto. "I have no idea if we need it, I thought someone should be here anyway..." And looks there is. Although he didn't expect a young woman. "Buen dia," he greets to the teen.

Then he translates Lorna's words. His Spanish is not perfect, but he is fluent enough to keep a good conversation going. "Maybe she is our guide to your mysterious sister."

Polaris has posed:
The young woman's eyes sparked with understanding as soon as Roberto spoke, and she smiled and nodded, rapidly responding in Spanish that she was in fact there to escort the young Mistress Dane to the car. The young lady folded up the cardboard and waved the couple away from the Range Rover and down toward the public loading and off loading section of the airport. At least, once Lorna had gathered her suitcase again.

She would stop and waiting beckoning them along with a wave, and a glance around and back.

Lorna paused every so often, but the sheer mass of humanity made it harder and harder for her to pin down anything that might've been considered dangerous as they left the safety of the more private valet parking to the more public section of the airport. She glanced back to Roberto, "What do you think?" She asked, arching a brow. She trailed long, keeping some distance between her and the girl. Her gaze whipping everywhere else warily.

Sunspot has posed:
"I think we are going to miss the Rover," comments Roberto, following the women with a concerned expression. Too much people, but they are just regular folks. Crowds tend to get larger in South American cities than even in New York the worst day. Poor city planning and overpopulation will do that. "Stay close to me," he adds, "we are not in a hurry anyway."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shrugged, but lingered close to Roberto, her expression pinched with no small amount of worry. Her steps slowed as they came into the chaos that was the public section and she bit her lower lip. "I'm in no rush to run on ahead, trust me." She drawled, her voice low as she followed after the young teen that lead them on to the edge of the sidewalk beside a beaten up chevy sedan. The paint was peeling on the edges and there was rust on the wheel wells. It looked like it had seen far better days.

Inside was a man in the driver's seat, the window rolled down and blaring a song from the 80s. He climbed out as the teenager leaned in to say she'd found them. He popped the trunk, greeting the couple in spotty English. "Hello, you're Miss Dane, right? I'm driver. Let me help." He offered, holding out his hands for the suitcases and luggage.

Sunspot has posed:
Roberto laughs out loud when he sees the old chevy. Somehow, he knew they would end up in a rust bucket. Regardless, he shakes the man's hand and helps to move their scarce luggage into the car's trunk.

"Is it very far?" He asks the driver. "It would be fine if you just give us the address, we rented a vehicle at the airport."

Polaris has posed:
The man's face had a little more bristle than a five o'clock shadow, and he grinned at Roberto, "Not far, not far. No. No. Close. Quite close. I was paid. Paid to drive you." He shut the trunk and ran around to open the back passenger side door for Lorna. She slipped inside, the leather cracked and stuffing poked out in the creases. The man handed a bill over to the teenager and she ran off, disappearing into the crowd.

Lorna looked at Roberto as the man climbed into the driver's side with a creak of the door shutting behind them.

"Roberto?" She asked, and her voice held no small amount of concern and worry. Susicion filled her face, as well as wariness.

Sunspot has posed:
Roberto climbs into the other side of the car and arches an eyebrow to Lorna. "We are -so- going to get swindled," he murmurs with a grin. "Oh, alright. Go ahead. I would have paid you anyway," he tells the driver.

Truth is the driver seems pretty harmless. So maybe he is worrying too much. He half expects to meet a woman that tells them a story about Namibian princes or something. Only it would need to be a little more plausible in this age of genetic testing.

Maybe she is really a relative of Lorna. Although the chances it is a sister... why would Magneto tell Lorna it was even possible?

Polaris has posed:
The car rev'ed slightly, the wheels giving a slight bounce as the car rocked over a speed bump and headed down the road, weaving in and out of the traffic that congested the area around the airport. It stopped and started a few times, the windows down for the lack of AC in the car. Lorna exhaled a breath, shaking her head slightly. "What do you think? No attacks so far.. no nothing. Seems fishy, sure, but c'mon.." She reached up, twisting her hair back from her face and at the nape of her neck.

Which is when the car was rocked by a violent explosion from beneath. Metal twisted outward, the seats ripping apart, glass shattering. The occupants were thrown. Lorna screamed as she threw up a barrier around herself automatically, but couldn't prevent the impact from the ground smacking against her as she fell and tumbled. At one point her head smacked against the ground and she saw nothing more. She was out cold.

Sunspot has posed:
"Attacking in the middle of the city would be silly. Too much collateral, too many places to hide. I don't know if they have super-powered vigilantes in this town, but they would be on it on a flash," so it would be later. Some distance from the airport.

But again. Harmless driver. Typical Argentina town. It is a nice summer day in this area of the world. He will be more wary when they are closer to the destination.

And then they are hit from below? A mine? So close to the city! He goes black in a second, trying to reach Lorna and the driver. Bounces off her shield. Good there is a shield. Bad Lorna still crashed on the road. Roberto manages to hover a few feet off the ground, a couple nasty cuts on his leg, but none too deep thanks to his Sunspot form.

Polaris has posed:
Attacking in the middle of the city was certainly silly. Certainly gained attention.. but a car bomb at the bottom of a rickety looking car wasn't entirely unheard of either. An explosive carefully planted to look just like any of the criminal organizations around the country was something easily missed. Particularly in the chaos of the airport.

People screamed and ran in all directions.

The poor driver only saved if Roberto grabbed him, otherwise, he would be quite dead. The green haired Princess was knocked out for the moment, and slowly coming around. She'd hit her head with the force of the impact blunted but still enough to scramble her brain.

Nothing happened at the moment, a breath of calm between the chaos as people cleared out of the area. And then, within a few seconds a dart was fired off. First hitting Lorna's still figure before a strain of them were fired off at Roberto.. for all that anything happened when he was in his black form. Clearly whoever was firing didn't really come prepared for Roberto Da Costa.

Sunspot has posed:
Roberto spares a couple seconds to leave the injured driver in a safe-ish spot, then rushes to pick up Lorna. "Lorna, shield!" He screams. But too late, as the dart hit her. Now, darts would be useless against Rogue or Colossus, they have bulletproof skin.

Roberto doesn't. His muscles and bones are reinforced in his Sunspot form, but his skin is not. The dart can't go very deep in his body, but it delivers a good dose of narcotic before he pulls it off. He can't even respond to the dart with a burst of plasma, too many people on the way.

So he picks up Lorna and tries to find a good place to hide. At the same time he digs for his cellphone to send an alarm message to Doug and Sam. 'It was a trap', they expected that. 'Hit by dart, fading', which is somewhat unusual. But still many of the X-Men enemies are in old tech weapons. Unfortunately he yet to see the attacker.
