Yo!
Date of Scene: 26 January 2020
Location: Stephanie Brown's Apartment, South Point
Synopsis: Stephanie and Damian try a new Asian restaurant, and the young Wayne asks about Stephanie and the Wayne Trust
Cast of Characters: Spoiler, Robin (Wayne)

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie had won the gift certificate to the new Asian eatery in a charity raffle at school. Not a fancy one by any means, but something that had opened up near Gotham University, counting on the appetites of students and the tendency of some that age to really hone in on unusual cuisine.

When Stephanie got to the restaurant, she saw the menu, in both English and the native language of the eatery's owner. Even the English translations weren't doing her very much good. So Stephanie had pulled out her phone and snapped a legible picture of the menu, and then of her gift certificate.

> Half is yours if you come help me pick some good stuff for take out.

The text and pictures are sent off to Damian's phone.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian had been out and about. Soon after the text was received, a notice that it had been looked at was automatically sent.

After a short while, the notice that a message was being composed followed. "Deal." After a scant tan minutes later, Damian Wayne stepped out of the chauffeured car, decked out in a black on black getup, a sweater and pants combo, with black and white basketball shoes. It was a compromise with Alfred on how a young teenager should look. If it was always up to Damian, he would be in a three piece all the time in public, barring when he needed to be Robin.

"You have placed your faith in the right person, Brown." He says in a reassuring, yet almost condescending tone. Damian always had that kind of tone though.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie is in normal college student attire. Blue jeans, a dark grey sweatshirt whose logo isn't visible beneath the medium jacket she's wearing. A pair of gloves are set on the counter near her where she's checking out the menu.

The blond looks up, a warm grin spreading across her lips as she sees the youngest Wayne. "Hey there," she says. "I figured I needed an expert," she says, holding up the menu. The English translations are still words that most people would struggle to pronounce. It's by design probably to make it feel more authentic and get students to try different things just to see what they are.

She passes the menu over to Damian. "Was kind of in the mood for chicken. Though, pork would be good too. Maybe some peas or... something spicy. Or sweet. Really, if you let me talk long enough I'll describe everything on the menu," she tells him with a grin. She passes over the gift certificate so he can see the amount. Enough to feed six. There should be plenty of left overs then. "Do me proud?" she asks with that warm, cheeky grin.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian grasps the menu gently, looking over the characters, and cantering his head just a little. "Wow..."

He flips through pages, looking up and down. He looks to the lady behind the counter, and starts talking in an unfamiliar language. The two converse a bit, back and fourth. At first, one could pick out a Bruce Wayne, and Damian nodding, holding his hand to his chest, and following with 'Damian'. Apparently she recognized him from the TV.

The conversation continues, and Damian closes the menu, and hands over the gift certificate with a bow of his head and upper body.

"It's a Hmong place. Different but similar to many things you've had before, I think." He comments to Stephanie.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie moves over near to Damian's side as he's talking to the woman. Steph gives her a bright smile and imitates Damian's bow at the end. "Thank you," she adds to them with a smile, and getting back a, "You welcome!" in very broken sounding English, but energetic just the same. The woman seems quite happy to have had Damian conversing in her own language.

Stephanie grins over to Damian. "Oh, excellent. So what all did you get us?" she asks the cooks begins preparing the order. The smells in the place are marvelous already. Stephanie picks up her gloves and moves to the side so the next customers can get to the counter. "And how long did it take you to pick up each of these languages? Were you learning them all when you were real young, like as a child? Or did you have to learn them along the way as you were a little older?"

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"I was young. It's imperative to blend in with the local populace. And since I am...of mixed heritage, I can blend in with many folks of Asian descent." True, add a little dirt and some different clothes, Damian could pass for a street urchin easily. "Young children can learn languages easier than adults." He said with a shrug.

Damian had never opened up much about his younger life to anyone other than Bruce. But at least this was more of a less graphic part of his history.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie leans casually against the end of the counter where the finished orders are brought over. One leg crossed over the other, she says, "You know, sort of sounds like we had the same life. Except, you know. The different languages. The swords. Bows. Training. Travel," Stephanie says, pausing as she starts to run out of stuff.

"By which I mean, raised by our mothers I guess," she adds with a little wry grin and a shrug. The food arrives, all wrapped in a pair of plastic bags tied at the top. Stephanie grabs and offers the other to Damian. It's cold out but thankfully this place is just down a block and a half from her apartment building that is itself across the street from campus.

Stephanie dons her gloves and sees if Damian is ready to head out. "We hoofing it, or want to take your car?" she asks as she steps into the brisk Gotham winter evening.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian's left hand grasps the food parcels, while the other grabs at his phone. "Whichever." He says, offering to call his car.

"Yes, mother had me study a lot. Only the best for the heir to the League."

Spoiler has posed:
"We can walk," Stephanie decides then, hurrying her step to keep the trip through the cold short. "Pretty much was on my own for studying," she says as their feet cover the cold and sometimes icy sidewalk quickly. "Which means of course, I didn't do as much as I should. Mom was usually working extra shifts. Dad was usually looking out from between bars. And when he wasn't... he was usually working on how to get back there," she says with a shake of her head of her Cluemaster father.

They reach the apartment building and she unlocks a security door so they can go inside. Then up the elevator to the top floor and down the hallway to her apartment. She unlocks the door as someone down the hall sticks their heads out. "Is it good?" the girl asks. Stephanie grins, "Will let you know, and bring over some leftovers," the blond says before heading inside. "What do you want to drink? Juice? There's grape. And orange. Also soda. Or filtered tap water." She doesn't have a very expensive of fancy place. Bottled water? Luxury.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"I studied enough for both of us." Damian comments, looking around and finding a place to sit. "Water is fine." He comments, opening the bag and arranging the food boxes. "Why haven't you filed the papers?" He asks, without any warning. And out of the blue.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie goes to get two glasses, and she's just filling them from a container in the refrigerator when Damian asks the question. The blond pauses for a moment, looking over at him, and then refocusing on the glasses. They are filled and the water put back in the fridge as she brings the glasses over.

After offering one, Stephanie leans back against one of the kitchen counters, sipping the water. "I just haven't been able to make up my mind," says the girl who has lived in poverty most of her life. She has a shiny purple 1965 Shelby Cobra remake, courtesy of Bruce. Other than that, most of her possessions are pretty meager. She works for Tim, acquiring superhero memorabilia from auctions part-time.

"It's ah... kind of life-changing. And... I just don't know," she says, rubbing a hand through her hair. "Talked with Jason a little and... he's probably the one person who understood what I was feeling," she says.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian rolled his eyes. "That's it? You don't file paperwork that allows you to become a part of the trust, because it's life changing money? You either do or you don't. but if you keep on playing this game, someone's gonna snatch up that percentage." Not that Damian was going to, nor his brothers. But he didn't understand the concept of holding off on this decision. To him, it was part of his birthright.

Damian detour a number of noodle dishes, with chicken and vegetables, some with beef, and some with just veggies. All with that lovely breath of the wok flavor. "Todd? He changes his opinion more than I change underwear." Yes, yes, seems the young Wayne is starting to understand American idioms.

Spoiler has posed:
Stephanie moves over to get herself a portion of the food as well. A little bit of everything to give it all a try. "It's just... kind of hard to explain," Stephanie says. "And, well, Jason's reasons are different than mine, but he still kind of gets it I think," she says of the older brother who has mainly refused to accept the family money so far.

"You grow up without and, well, you see what life is like for people who have. And yeah, maybe you want that. But then, things are different too. Maybe they're better. Maybe they're just different. I see how you all have to be careful, or how you get your pictures snapped. And I don't know that it would ever be like that for me? But would I want it if it was?" she tells him.

"I'm really not doing a good job of explaining," she says with a sigh, then trying some noodles with beef and vegetables. "Oh, so good," she says.
