Date of Scene: 28 January 2020
Location: Interior - Wayne Manor
Synopsis: Diana and Bruce watch an old Robert E. Howard-style movie and talk about each other. Why are you even reading this? Such a voyeur!
Cast of Characters: Wonder Woman, Batman

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana is lounging on the sofa in a set of black silk pajamas that she got for Christmas (they really love black around here). She's got her hair loose and about her shoulders and her hands are up pressed together as she lays against the arm rest of the sofa and watches the large large television screen. A movie is on. It is called Ruiner: The Ruination. It is about a barbarian woman who storms into a high council of corrupt village elders and she tears them apart limb from limb, only sparing the good elders, who helped the poor villagers survive a terrible winter that the magical evil council members set upon their poor village until they could last no longer.

"This movie is intense. And silly." Diana says with a smile on her red painted lips. "I really like her armor though. Who knew bikini chainmail was so effective in combat. I should write home to my mother and tell her to adjust all of our sets to be as such." Diana says to whomever it is that shares the room with her tonight watching this ridiculous, gorey, silly, but fun movie!

Batman has posed:
"I don't understand the premise," Bruce answers, unable to sit down and simply watch the movie so instead he's co-opted this time for training - rising up and down from behind the copy table in a series of one-armed push-ups, "How are you meant to buy her as a villain compared to these elders? They're entirely disinterested. That one's asleep."

He continues with the push-ups, raising up and down on one arm before switching to the other and continuing with that. He glances back to the screen from time to time, a faint smirk gracing his features: "I didn't know you were a film buff."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana is in entirely relaxation mode while Bruce is exercising. This is the way around here. She has the body of Goddess and she doesn't even have to do anything to maintain it! She continues to lay there as she watches the barbarian woman track down one of the high council elders and chase him out of his hut. "He is awake now!" She says gleefully. "Look, his butt is showing!" She has a glow upon her face that lights up with laughter as the man falls down a snow hill and into a river, only to be hit by a magic arrow from the Barbarian Woman's golden bow of Ruination. "I love her." Diana says in a warm, smokily affectionate voice.

"I have been the buff of many films, if you /must/ know." She is a little tired, so when she gets that way some of her sentences make a little less sense in English, or she stops trying as hard with English when she's comfortable and in private like she is now with Bruce. "Casablanca is obviously my favorite. But, I also like /Psycho/ and... The Goonies." She shows Bruce a grin then.

Batman has posed:
"I suppose you would be a film buff," Bruce reasons, jutting out his lower lip as he focuses on the middle distance in front of him, "You were around when the 'talkies' were a novelty and Charlie Chaplin was the cutting edge." A little jab at her age, not that it shows - he looks older than she does at this point, despite not even being a fraction of her age.

Bruce glances up at the screen when she draws his attention to it, smirking once again at the elder rolling down the mountain side.

"When it she going to get the other one?" He must be taking an actual interest in pop culture. Shocking!

Wonder Woman has posed:
A group of High Council guards rush out of the snow wilderness and surround the good and wise Ruiner! She is surrounded on on sides with her golden bow glowing in the snowy dim forest! Diana's eyes grow huuuuuge as she watches the drama unfold. The Ruiner is shot with a blast to her shoulder from a evil red arrow! "Oh no!" Diana says in a somewhat tired sounding voice. But THEN! The White Wolves of Wisdom appear on the hillside! The snarl and their eyes light up with fire! "It is her wolf pack!" Diana explains, all happy again as she sits back in the sofa and raises up enough to prop her head up with a hand.

As the wolves rush in to help the Ruiner with their fangs of truth, Diana replies to Bruce. "I loved watching movie technology develop gradually. It was astounding to watch the art grow and change. I would try to see one as often as I could. Though I heard Charlie Chaplin was a bad man, I never met him myself. I did not come to America for quite some time. I did not move here until the eighties in fact."

As the movie unfolds further, the Ruiner runs out of the woods with her wolf pack on her sides. "The others are in the dark tower of secrecacy and lies..." Diana whispers loudly.

Batman has posed:
"These names," Bruce says with a sigh, shaking his head. It's clear that fantasy was never of much interest to him, in fact all sorts of fiction tend to lack any real sort of draw for him. That said, his childhood bedroom - kept much as it was when he was an eight year boy - has posters of Zorro and the Grey Ghost on the walls. Not that he ever ventures in there - it's more of a shrine kept by Alfred for the Man Who Never Got To Be.

"I think she'll win," he offers lazily, once again switching to another arm and working up and down tirelessly, "She's clearly in the right. These films all seem to follow that sort of formula, don't they?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana glances at the end table beside the sofa when she sees the phone light up with a message. But she doesn't care to look at it right now, the A.I. in the phone has already processed the message and deemed it to be not important, which it indicates with a green color. So she looks back to Bruce then with a little grin on her red lips, her dark brown hair falling a bit around her face in big curls, lots of body in it after she'd had it up all day. "I like silly fantasy. I always have. Ever since I was a little girl and my mother would tell me stories. Real and fake ones. They took my heart up into the sky... and flew it around within the clouds. Made me dream of what was beyond our island, and how I could fight it, like The Ruiner is fighting the great evils of her lands. She is everything I wanted to be."

Her eyes sweep from the film as it progresses, with action and suspense. The Ruiner even finding her love interest in a beefy protein enriched man lumps. "I bet he hasn't had a glass of water in four days." She idly comments before she looks back to Bruce. "I prefer movies like this too, where the good win over the corrupt and evil. It is far better than the likes of... post modernism stories, where all hope is lost, darkness prevails and you are left to feel sad and bad. No." She looks back to the film and reaches for her peach tea drink. "I like to feel happy after a film like this."

Batman has posed:
Bruce listens to her words in silence, ceasing the endless push ups and simply remaining propped up on one arm with the other tucked behind his back. He turns his face to watch her, his expression pensive. He hasn't so much as broken a sweat, his work out apparently so routine as to be almost second nature.

"I don't think I'd call you a 'ruiner'," he explains, "The opposite, really. But all those things she does? You do them, too. That's what I see when I look at you. A hero. The highest order of a hero."

Then a glance back to the television, "I was never big on these sorts of movies. I preferred the Grey Ghost. A normal man who saves everyday people."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana laughs softly at his words. "Well no, The Ruiner is what their prophecy foretold. That a Ruiner would arrive one day to destroy their evil and wicked plans. So that is why they were creating strife and suffering within their own lands, to stop such a thing from happening. She is ruining /them/ and that is why it is a fitting title for her, one she is proud to wear."

Diana sips from her glass of peach tea then and leans back to run her hand through her hair to draw it out and let it cascade back down to her shoulder. "I know, that I... am capable and do things of wild abilities, but I do them because of stories like hers. They helped forge me into what I am now."

Her gaze sweeps back over to him. "Clearly as yours have for you. This is why we are good for one another. We have such similarities that make us... understand each other." She grins then as she stares at him. "Sometimes, anyway." Now she's justbeing playfully teasing.
