Cast of Characters: Red, Rogue

Red has posed:
Flatbush's Little Costume Shop, just a couple streets away from M-town, still is open even in the late afternoon, the neon in the window yelling Open while the spots kept onto the Envlave Power Armor battling a StarCraft Space Marine in the window. And Alice is manning the counter... or rather the workshop, as there is nobody in to help out at the moment and there are lots of things in the work.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had woken up today to a text from a friend who needed a costume quick for some kind of an event. He needed a costume of a Civil War Union Army soldier and the only place Rogue found online that had one in stock and not rented out was... this shop. Through their online stories, she got in contact with them and got their address.

Now, here she is. Pulling up outside in a green 1970s dodge charger, Rogue steps out of the vehicle and takes a second to toss something back in the car before she shuts the door and pulls her leather bomber jacket on over a black sweater. She turns to the store and reaches up to take her aviator sunglasses off, then starts to walk toward it.

Once she pulls the door open she hooks her sunglasses into an interior pocket and lets the door close behind her, her ungloved hands going to hook thumbs in her jeans as she starts to visually broooowse around.

Red has posed:
The door opens with the some trumpet call playing something almost serene... The John Dunbar Theme. Dances with the Wolves. A moment later Alice appears in the door from the back, smiling some. "Welcome to the shop, how may I help you?" she asks, a blue sticker with 'Hello my name is... Alice' on the left side of her red blouse, tucked into bluejeans. The cowboy boots combined with it are faux leather though.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue hears the voice and she turns to it's source. Its instant that she recognizes the girl from her birthday party and a grin shows on her face. She starts to walk toward her and then raises her right hand up to point at her. "You took my top." She just jumps right to it. "You're a top stealer." She's just being good natured about it though. Her eyes glance around the inside of the store and then back to Alice. "I think the greatest irony of you doin' that is that you're surrounded by clothin' as a career and yet, there you were... grabbin' undoin' and then runnin' off with!"

Red has posed:
"You had it coming and you told me to keep it. I'm the propmaker of the shop. Need a lightsaber or a cavalry saber or the goddang Alien Flamethrower and I'm your girl." Alice remarks with a chuckle, tapping her own nose as she leans onto the counter a little. "I think they called you Rogue at the Party, aye? So what can I do for you, Rogue? Need a Cloak and Dagger costume to fit the name on a RenFair?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just grins at the girl as she approaches the counter and places her hands down on to it's edge. "I don't remember what I said that night. I was drinkin' quite a lot." She gives another glance around as the info about her duties at the shop are laid out. "Lightsabers'n swords, huh?" She repeats before looking back. "Rogue works. Or Marie. Or a buncha other names..." She smiles for a moment before her hand sweeps her white bangs back behind her left ear. "I talked t'someone online about a Civi War uniform. One'a the Blue ones. Friend'a mine needs it brought t'him before he gets outta work, somethin' for his kid's school show t'night. Someone online said ya'll had one?"

Red has posed:
"Civil War uniform... oh yes, I remember. Just the uniform with the belt and buckle and stuff. That's easy... what was the size again?" Alice asks as she reaches over to the cashier to stir the age old computer from its sleep. "Gimmie just a moment to look up the hanger number. Wool and leather, right? The real deal like for one of those reenactment meetings? We don't hand out steel blades or guns though, you got to get those yourself. Safety policy."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just laughs softly. "The biggest size ya got." She tells young woman. "He's..." She motions her hands out in front of her own trim stomach to indicate that the man the suit will be for is much larger! With a grin she lowers her hands then. "Plastic weapons are fine. Its just... He's supposed to stand there and guard someone or somethin' in it. While the kids all sneak past it? I dunno. He didn't tell me all the details. But he says its the only thing he's been asked t'do in his kid's life in like a year, so he's all freaked out." Rogue holds that faint playful grin. "Even if it doesn't fit him, I told him it'd be kinda funny. He could be that one crappy lazy guard who doesn't fit in his uniform anymore. He... uh, didn't think that was too funny though."

Red has posed:
Alice chuckles as she types a little on the keys, then nods. "I think I got something in that size... enlisted. Without numbers I can't guarantee for fit. A fitting rifle prop I have somewhere too, so the whole set?" She chuckles a little as she leaves to the backdoor. "I'll be with you in a few, just got to grab the hangers." With that she is gone, returning just a minute or two later with three or four hangers, a blue coat and trousers hanging on them, as well as a shirt and some assorted other items. And a musket slung over the back. "There we go..."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just nods to the girl's words and taps her fingers gently on the counter's edge and top. "Sounds good t'me, Top Thief." She teases the other with a sly grin showing.

When she goes to get the outfit, Rogue turns and looks around at everything that is on display. She wanders a few steps toward a display and picks up one of the props of some kind of a sci fi gun, Rogue assumes it's a Star Wars gun, but she doesn't really know.

When Alice returns she puts it down again and steps over to look at the Civil War costume. "Thats awesome." She says as she reaches out to touch it through the bag. "That'll be perfect, I think. I'm gonna have t'come back here some time t'get somethin' for myself. I love costume parties, or yeah even a RenFaire when and if I go to'em."

Red has posed:
Alice chuckles at the notion of coming back. "Sore looser, eh? You got to come back to hand it back anyway, so why not look at something then? Interested in Galactica?" She points to the Sci-Fi gun. "That's an Original series Laser Blaster. Can vaporize some 25 cubic centimeters, or about a cube of 2 inches long in each direction, with its 315 Kilowatts of power. Well, if it was not a prop it would." Yep, the girl got her movie facts down.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue glances back over at the prop gun when its story is told to her and she grins then looks back at Alice. "I've been shot at by real laser guns. I ain't a fan of'em. That one looks nice though. I'll give ya that much." She pulls out a wad of money from her jacket's side pocket then and starts to count out what the cost of the rental is before she hands it over. "After actually spendin' a bunch'a time in space too? I'm happy right here on Earth, no desire t'get back out there. Its a freaky place, lemme tell ya!"

Red has posed:
"That's how people thought laser guns would look in 1978. Or However it should work." Alice notes as she countercounts the bills given to her and fills out the rental slip, pushing both the paper as well as the clothes over the counter to Rogue to pick up. "Must have an interesting job to have a trip to Space. Astronaut, huh? Never thought they let people below 21 onto space missions for NASA."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue places her hands on the edge of the counter where the costume is resting and she watches the money get counted then grins at what Alice says before she shakes her head right to left. "Nah... nothin' like that." She says in that rich southern flavored accent of hers. She refocuses her stare upon Alice and shows a faint and quick smile. "I was with the Avengers for a year. Worked with'em closely and well, it lead to me bein' there at Tony Stark's New Years Eve event where he got snatched along with Captain America. Turns out Captain Marvel and I were the other two also snatched up... but she'n I got back within a couple weeks. Cap 'an Tony are still missin'."

Red has posed:
"Oh right... that was in the news kinda, but I don't really follow the Avengers stuff. Had like more important stuff to deal with the last year. Sentinels messing up my home quarter and stuff. Blatently? The Avengers might protect the city from the world's end, but everyday stuff like a mob trying to kick a mutant to pulp or some gangers trying to run their racket... not their playing field I assume. Too small a stakes." Alice rambles as she makes sure that everything is wrapped up for Rogue to take out, the cash in the register. "But anyway, it's not politics time and you said you were in kinda a hurry. Don't let my rambling stop you or anything."

Rogue has posed:
The words that Alice lays out there hit home pretty good with Rogue, who's a Mutant but one that seemingly has more connections to ways to defend herself from Sentinels than a mutant like Alice might right now in her life. So she softly nods to her before she tilts her head while staring. "You're a mutant, yeah? Thats how ya ended up at my charity birthday party, I assume? And well... everythin' else ya just said." Rogue then exhales and reaches into her leather jacket's pocket to pull out an Xavier's School card with a few names on it with numbers and email addresses as well. "Take this. You have any problems, you send everyone on that list a message with my name in it. You'll get the help ya need. I can get ya my number too if you'd rather just send me a message too. My point is, we can help ya if ya need it."

Red has posed:
"No, I am not a mutant. Mutant implies something is *wrong* with you. If anything, I am an active x-gene carrier." Alice remarks, seeming a little offended at the word mutant, and standing rather firm on that point. "I was looking for people who might back the lawsuit with testimony or something. But Justicia grinds really slow. But thanks for the offer. If I need help, I might call, but..." she takes a look at the card, blinking. "Xavier's Institute for higher learning? Isn't that a fancy school? I mean, my parents could never have aforded that and I am no longer High schooler or something..."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just gently nods her head to the first part about the word 'Mutant'. "Technically all humans are mutants, as in everyone has some level of genetic mutation in their DNA. But, that bein' said, the term has been widely applied t'just those with outward physical mutations and abilities that have arisen from more dramatic mutations in that very same DNA." She gently nods her head and shows Alice a little grin. "But I get it, I really do. I understand I won't push nothin' at ya like a weird cult or nothin'." She moves to pick up the costume bag then. "The school is a great place with great people and they care about those who are in situations like we are. Just somethin' t'think about is all." With a sly smile Rogue moves to turn to leave.

"Thanks for the rad Costume by the by." She'll start to make for the exit then.

Red has posed:
Alice gives back a shrug to Anna-Marie as she notes the whole evolution thing. "Could be, could be. Humanse all we are. Have fun with the costume and come again soon!" She waves a little as she waits for the twin-color-haired one to leave the shop before resuming her work in the back.
