Light Revival
Date of Scene: 01 February 2020
Location: Just outside New York City
Synopsis: They recruited Josiah to Xavier's
Cast of Characters: Firefly (Barrows), Cannonball, Nightingale

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
The outside of the city has a following of the mutants of new york city. They came from miles around and it was after the sermon. Josiah's parents were greeting people and josiah was standing at the altar, smiling as a boy with cancer walks down to him. He moves to put his hands on the child, and his eyes begin to glow white as well as his mouth and ears shining with white healing light. As his hands glow, the boy begins to tremble as color begins to return to him.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie comes walking up to the revival. He has brought Shannon with him. The young man is wearing normal clothes, and actually suggested Shannon use her inducer at least till they get the lay of the land and such, an angel showing up could get awkward at the revival

Nightingale has posed:
It had been a bit of a painful ride out to the revival, and a tricky one to prepare for. With her wings still in splints, and her midsection bandaged to make certain her ribs healed properly, it had been an interesting proposition for Shannon to get dressed. She's opted for a wine-colored dress made of a soft suede-like fabric; it has a modest neckline, an ankle length A-line skirt--but a low back to allow for her wings. She's got plain wine-colored flats on, and a black, hooded wool opera cloak with a red velvet lining to keep warm. She murmurs softly to a tall, blonde-haired gentleman who seems to be traveling with her. "I'm not sure what to make of this whole thing, big brother. They said mutants are welcome, are you sure I need to hide the wings? They're part of what needs healing. If I hide them, do you think this person will sense them anyways?"

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
Josiah just lets the kid go and he begins to walk off. He stands and looks to Samuel and Shannon and smiles. "Why hello there. I hope you havent been waiting long." He says as he watches them. He was slightly pale but he looks to Shannon and he moves to gently take her hand. As soon as his skin touches hers, she felt his hand real warm and the light shines on her. She will fill an overwhelming warmth and her wounds healing before her very eyes as he touches her. He seems to be uttering a prayer, despite his eyes being closed they glow bright white.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie frowns a bit to this and was not sure about letting the young man heal his friend. He wanted to get a bit better idea of what was going on, but a little late for that. He watches the going on . He will ask "You feeling ok?" He will ask shannon.

Nightingale has posed:
Though she'd been reaching to tap the image inducer on her wrist, it was a tiny bit late, as Josiah takes Shannon's hand before she can manage to hide her wings. Wings which, despite the length and volume of her cloak, still manage to peek out every so often, evidently in splints. The light suffuses her, lending an ethereal glow to her whole body, top to toes, and wingtip to wingtip. The feel of healing light does not surprise her--heaven only knows she'd been on the receiving end a few times of similar. This was a little different, though.

"I think it's okay, Sam. It feels... like other healings. But I've never -seen- it happen like this." She knows better than to pull away before the light fades, holding very still. Breathing is no longer painful, and the pains of her injuries fade as, bit by bit, tissue and bone knit back together properly, as they should.

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
Josiah smiles. "I dont know what kind of light it is, but it heals my own injuries and others I touch. I know I can also stun people with this light." He explains as he looks to Samuel and chuckles. "Forgive me, you must be with the goverbment. You're here to determine if I am a mutant or god's chosen...Though to be fair, god chose you to bear his gifts." He says softly, his accent somewhat plain but there is a bit of cajun in it.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to the other and says "We are not with the government, but have come to check on you a bit. I don't know about mutants being specificly God's chosen, I have met mutants of all religions and some who do not believe at all. Don't get me wrong I am all for belief, just not sure it and mutant ability are tied together." He will tell the young man.

Nightingale has posed:
"Maybe not tied together, but it's kind of nice to think Someone Up There isn't through with fresh ideas just yet." And that's about as far as Shannon weighs in on the philosophical debate. Right now, she's just happy to not be in pain any more. She takes a few good, deep breaths, filling her lungs to capacity and exhaling slowly. She rolls her head about slowly, keeping one hand out near Sam just in case she got dizzy. As it turns out, that's not needed. "Sam? Remember how big that egg on the back of my head was? Maybe take a look and see if it's still there?"

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
"I was taught to see the signs of god. Look at his creation. You are to tell me that this, all of this, is random chance and that he doesnt guide us? I just cant see that. I wont hate someone for not believing in what I believe but Science doesnt deny god's grace, it acknowledges it." Josiah says calmly as he smiles. He lets go of Shannon and looks even slightly more pale. "But I am a terrible host. I welcome you in the name of the lord. Please join us for prayers?" He asks as he gestures to the rest of the tent.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will look over to check on Shannon's wounds. He hmms and says "Your looking better." He will tell her, and then to Josiah he will add "Ah did not say Ah did not believe in god or that he does not guide us. Ah said don't think mutanthood is linked to belief. " He will walk with them, and does pull out a device and says "Mind if I take some readings of you while we talk?"

Nightingale has posed:
"No, science doesn't preclude belief. Sometimes it can strengthen it. On that we seem to agree." Shannon frowns just a little bit, looking around the meeting area. "If it's not presumptuous of me to say so, you sure look like you could stand to sit down a bit." Her voice is laced with concern, the healer in her coming to the fore.

Glancing over to Sam, she tilts her head slightly. "Curious, what is that? Looks kind of interesting."

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
"Sorry...I just get so tired of hearing how science proves god doesnt exist. Most think our father lets them suffer for no reason." He says with a blush and he looks to Shannon. "Those are beautiful wings. I can make energy wings. I cant fly very fast with them." HE says as he closes his eyes and a large set of white energy winngs form on his back, of course the suit he wears is covered in a white light which seems to resemble templar armor. He then makes the energy armor and wings vanish and he smiles to her and looks to the device. "This machine will prove I am a mutant?" He asks curiously. He then nods as he takes a seat and sits in it. "Healing takes my own personal lifeforce. I can control the energy and summon it, but the more I use it the weaker I become." He explains.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over to the two and says "It can tell me a bit when close, but works better for those with other talents than my own. He looks it over and says "According to this you are a mutant. The base healing power reminds me a bit of someone." He smirks a bit looking over to Shannon for a moment. So, if I may ask, you and your family travel with the revival here all the time?"

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles a little bit, and nods. It's so very tempting to try and remove the splints on her wings, but she elects to leave them alone till either Sam or a medic back home takes them off. "Yeah, his healing power does sound similar to someone else's. Not mine, though, not yet anyways." She smiles a bit at Josiah, inclining her head. "Thank you for the healing. And shame on us for not properly introducing ourselves. I'm Shannon, this is Sam."

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
"Yes. I grew up in a bayou in louisanna but throughout my life we always been traveling and on the move. I believe my folks are going to make a church here and maybe become a part of a television program, I dont know for sure." He explains as he looks to Shannon and smiles. "My parents believe mutants are god's chosen, why else would they have such power but to help others?" He says with a shrug. "So I am a mutant. That is a little more comforting...for a while my parents believed me to be the next jesus..." He says with a sigh. "people have a way of twisting the word to their benefit...I just want to help people." He says finally. "I am Josiah."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods a bit and says "Sam, as my friend has mentioned. " He says of his name. "Actually know a few people from your area, Kentucky myself." He will tell the other man. We belong to a group who believe mankind and mutantkind should live together and work together. Ah believe he may have a plan for us yes, but he also wants us to have free will, that all men and women are given some type of gifts, be it mutantdom or others, and we are to choose how we use them.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles a little bit, understanding Josiah's desire to help others all too well. "I know how that feels. You have a gift, you know you want to help others. It's a need. And if that need goes un-met...." Falling silent, she listens to Sam and Josiah talking, intrigued by the conversation.

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
"Free will was his greatest gift...One that can lead us down the path of rightuousness or something far darker." He says softly as he watches sam and he nods. "So I wish to help you. So How would I do that?" HE asks calmly. He then looks to Shannon and smiles. "Sometimes a person doesnt need to be healed, but rather have someone to talk to. Too many people underestimate the power of conversation." He says softly.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Actually was more us wishing to help you, we could offer you a place to learn about your powers, how they work, and how to use them more. We would also offer an education where you would get an education that could help get you into most any college you wished to get into.""

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
"I could always use an education...I am afraid I was taught to read and write and arithmitic but little else. I can always use training...it has been two years since my abilities manifested and the most I can heal is three people with severe cancer." He says calmly as he watches Sam. "So how do you want to do this?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and nods a bit to this and says "We will need to talk to your parents a bit and go over some of the details. It is a boarding school, but we like any normal boarding school do have time for you to go spend time with your family during the holidays and such.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles and nods, doubly glad as, indeed, the back of her head no longer throbs. "And you should see the holidays there, too," she offers, her eyes lighting right up. "They really try to make the season special, especially for the ones who can't or won't go home for whatever reason." She smiles a bit, glancing between Josiah and his parents. "We're both of us lucky ones. Our parents love and support us with or without our gifts. Not everyone's so fortunate."

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
Josiah nods. "Understandable." He says as he looks to Shannon and smiles. "So you go to this school? Awfully young to be a teacher." He says with a smirk. He nods. "Thats why I became a faith healer. A man wanted me to heal his mutation but I couldnt...because there was nothing to heal." He says softly as he nods. "Alright I will attend this school." He says as he looks to his parents and he nods to them.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon shakes her head and smiles. "No, I'm just a student. Sixteen's a little young to be a teacher. But I think I'd like to be, one day. Healing, and teaching. Maybe some music." She sighs a little, allowing herself to dream for just a moment.

"Mutation isn't a sickness. I like to think of it as the Creator trying out new paints on Their palette, to see what comes of it."

Firefly (Barrows) has posed:
Josiah nods. "How I feel about it as well." He says as he looks to Sam and he smiles. "I hope to meet you again. For now I better rest. I need to regain my strength if I am to show you my abilities." He says calmly

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "I will talk to your parents and we will see what we can set up to get things going and done." He will offer the man a smile and says ""Hope to see you again soon.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon smiles and sketches a little bow, even more pleased than ever to be free of pain. "Thank you so much for sharing your gift." She pauses, tilting her head. "I don't know if it would help, but I find that after using my gift, eating things with a little more protein, calcium, and green vegetables can help. Maybe that's something you could try, see if it helps you recuperate?" Hey, a little healthy eating never hurt anyone! Stepping back a bit closer to Sam, she pulls up the hood of her cloak, as the pair prepare to leave. This would not be the last they saw of the healer of Light, that much, she had a funny feeling about. The trio would meet again.
