Synopsis: Piper goes to Kat's club, eats cheese/bacon balls and drinks soda, and discusses history
Cast of Characters: Ekaterina Vespucci, Piper Halliwell

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
it is evening in Aeterna (Latin for Eternal) and tonight is a slow evening at the club. Very few people and quite relaxed. There is the sort of crowd who attends bars during the week to drink quietly and not do much else. There are three sections to the club. A downstairs bar - a dining area and a dancing area. The most subdued atmosphere with mere background music is the downstairs bar. On all of he walls is art of the owner or her students from the local community college which are displayed for sale. Behind the bar today is the owner herself - the Contessa Ekaterina Vespucci. Rumors swirl around this young lady. She is said to be an underworld figure - a crime boss - and quite a wealthy one. In addition to this she owns a number of commercial galleries, teaches art history at the Queens community college and runs a soup kitchen. The young lady herself looks a bit young to be doing all this. Standing at just over five feet she looks to be in her late teens or early twenties with her most noticable feature being her large expressive cornflower blue eyes. At the moment she is in a black form fitting dress tending bar - covering for an absent employee.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper Halliwell, kitchen witch, and P3 owner, is here. She's got out of P3 before the rush of people, and....she's come here o check it too. It's weird for her being on this side of the bar, but she's striding toward it. All five three of witchiness. Piper's got ideas. Ideas and money and, yes,a pencil tucked behind her left ear. Because why not? She was sketching out ideas for P3. Alright, listing idfeas. But she's got her usual clothing choice on, and looks relaxed, and easygoing. Getting to the bar she settles on a barstool.

"hey, whats up here?" she asks. It's figurative. But Piper's usual answer to that is sarcasm.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
The club's owner approaches Piper, "Welcome to Aeterna," says the pleasant looking young girl. Too young perhaps to be in a bar let alone behind it. "Is there something I can get you?" Kat asks. She is cleaning a glass - not above manual labor.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
THe lack of a snarky anser doesn't bother Piper, and she smiles. "Oh...a menu if you got any please" she asks, smiling still. it's not the creepy smile, more genuine happiness and wonder at being somewhere new. "So this is your place huh? I mean, you look like you run it, being behind the bar and all" Piper offers with a nod. She's a smart cookie, that Piper.

She just wants the menu to look through it. Tonight's all bout having fun. And hopefully not blowing up things by acident

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Only counter food here I am afraid if that's okay - a more full menu is available up at the Dining area," Kat ventures apologetically. "I... am the owner - though not often made as the owner...." given her apparent youth people assumed she didn't own anyting. "What gave me away?" Kat belatedly adds, "Care for a drink?"

Piper Halliwell has posed:
"Sure, what would you recommend?" Piper asks. "Obviously, it comes in a glass and I drink itm but what?" she ponders. Sarcasm, Piper. Like a witch and magic. She looks thughtful. "The fact you're behind a bar and you're cleaning glasses and you just told me you're the owner?" Piper venturess with a laugh. "That gave it away really" she muses with a knowing smirk. Piper's got her snark ready to go. Oh, it's on!

Piper's certainly the sarcastic witch, if Prue and Phoebe have their talents, Piper's hidden ine is snarking at everything. It's her other language.

Glancing over, Piper grins. "Tell you what, soda then" she adds. "Ice and lemon if ya got any"

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
Kat doesn't argue with the logic and simply puts Piper's knowledge down to her having done some 'homework' before visiting her club. "Coming right up," Kat says. "You're sure nothing harder - we have a great Bourbon and cocktail selection." Kat despite her tiny frame didn't mind the harder stuff herself.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
"I can't. I'm working tomorrow so I gotta keep a clear head" Piper offers. "Soda won't hurt though, ice, some lemon, oh yes" she nods with a grin and looks to Kat. "So what're you up to, aside from cleaning glasses" she nods with a knowing giggle. Piper's been there, done that. The joys of owning a club.

Piper though is pleased, Kat' doing good work in Piper's own eyes. She smiles appreciatively.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Fair enough," Kat a known caffine fiend has a long black behind the counter. She makes the drink. "Quite a bit. I have a security firm," which was her front. "Got a few commercial galleries, a class I am teaching at the local community college and managing my money. I have a soup kitchen for the homeless in Queens." She's up to quite a bit. Not to mention that whole low intensity wat between the good and the evil Externals she is involved in.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper grins, "see, you're so busy. I am jealous" she says with a knowing look. "All I do is run my club and am boring by comparison. See" Piper mock-whines. "I'm jealous. I should do cookery classes or, or....something like that, ya know?" she says with a nod. Looking to Kat, Piper shrugs. "Security and art and taeching? How do you find time for all this? It's likee if I did it, I'd have no time left to enjoy myself" Piper says gently, looking quietly impressed. Okay. Kat's just gone way up in Piper's book.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Time management and not much sleep. I also paint and do some gaming." A few of the renaissance style pieces on the wall are attributable to Kat. "Things to do just sort of find me rathe than have me find them." This has been a truth for Ekaterina for more than 1200 years.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper's jealous. "But. But. Sleep is needed!" she protests. "Sleep is so neded. Or do you just survive on caffeine and suchh?" she asks with a groan. Looking over Kat again, Piper shrugs. "I mean. it's a valid ida, it's totally a valid idea, but...but...hwy? Why not just sleep?" Piper asks. Clearly. She doesn't know Kat that well

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"I gues sleep is not so much needed for me or mine," Kat has one of those metabolisms. It is not clear whether it is part of her mutation to her or whether it is just an idiosyncracy attributable only to her.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
"So do you have 90% coffee in your blood? I mean, vampires must be all what the hell did I just bite?" she jokes, looking impresed. If she had 90% coffee in her blood she'd be all jittery and...and...caffeinated.

Maybe that's how those speedsters do it, Piper thinks. "Okay you said dining earea, but I'll take counter food. Got any snacks?" she asks out of curiosity and hunger, too.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Oh vampires don't want to bite me," it sounds like a joke but Kat's External blood had proved to be quite lethal to the undead in the past. "It must just be my metabolism," she echoes her earlier thoughts. "Well we have all the traditional snacks. I like the basic ones - the cheese and bcon balls."

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper nods slowly. "Okay, I'll take the cheese and bacon balls then please" she says, settling in. "Oh it's a nice place you got here" she nods sagely, grinning now. "You know of any good local bands I could book for my club?" Piper muses aloud

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"I don't usually do live music - it tends to be too loud. I get some DJs for the dance floor upstairs - but I have a manager that takes care of the selection. No indie bands or the like. There are local festivals you can use to scout talent if you like?" Kat phones in he order for the bacon balls.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper nods. "Tried booking a silent band?" she asks with a gleam in her eye. Logic! "Seriously though, good plan. I'm just after music for my own club in Avalon Heights" Piper shrugs. "Always working, huh? Even if I don't get behind the bar, ya know?" Piper muses, looking a little worn out. She sighs, shaking her head, "So bout that soda and cheese bacon balls?" she prompts, not wanting to give up on soda and snacks.

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
The soda was as before already proferred to Piper but Kat simply makes her another one. "Bacon balls are on the way," and they arrive post haste - carried by a twentysomething waitstaff lady. "So you are a club owner? Just starting up?"

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper sips the soda, trying a bacon ball. "Okay both are good. She nods and looks along the bar again. "Oh no no, I run P3 out in Avalon Heights. Been going for a while" Piper says. "But it's a never ending source of frustration booking good bands. Or any for that matter" she muses with a nod. "DJs are a dime a dozen though but I got a stage. May as well se it"

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"P3 hey? I may come check it out if I get the time - but as you can see time is at a premium for me." She does sympathise to a degree - but Kat had a million things on her mind - difficult even for a polymath like herself to cope with.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper nods, "ou come on over, I'll get you something good" Piper nods with a laugh. She shrugs, looking serious. "P3's good. That being said though..." she shrugs.h. "It can get loud. Bring earplugs is my advicce. Especially when it's crowded, too" she says with a smile, sipping her soda and munching on cheese bacon balls. "So you do art, huh? You'rre talented!"

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"You'd want to hope so - I teach Art History. My favorite era - the renaissance - it invokes a feeling of nostalgia," It's as if she is insinuating that she has lived through that era. In fact she has but that conventionallt should nor be possible.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
"Nostalgia? What, Did you run with the kings and Borjas and the great minds of the time?" Piper asks sarcastically. She's totally and utterly not beleiving a word of it. To her, Kat's as old as she looks. Which is, oddly enough, younger than Piper. Not by a lot, but...

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
Kat tells he truth fully expecting her to not be believed - thinking she can argue she told Piper the truth from the get go when Piper finds out it is the truth. "Indeed I was born Engelberga of Parma around 800 AD - was even Holy Roman EMpress for a spell."

Piper Halliwell has posed:
"What?" Piper sputters. Oky. She's impressed now. "You're joking, right? Nobody's that old and looks that good"

Compliments, Piper? She is just taken aback by Kat's actual age and history. "Okay, okay...I'm honestly amazed. So do you have any fun stories to share?" she asks, curious now and keen for information

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Stories - oh yeah well I married into the Vespucci clan - when I was masquerading as Ekaterina Sokolov a russian noblewoman. Heard of Amerigo Vespucci? He was my step son," Now there is a tie in if indeed it is true and she is not joking.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper just stays quiet. She's just listening, "Wait, you're telling the truth? What? Okay, I'm amazed" Piper says, eyebrow raised. She's genuinely impressed and looks a little shocked, though that's not stopping her eatingg her way through the bowl of bacon and cheese balls

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Yeah mixed families - Amerigo that little shit couldn't stand me even though I funded his expeditions partially and next thing you know he has a couple of continents named after him." You could say Kat was involved in the USA before it was even the USA.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
"Ah, such a greateful bastard huh?" Piper giggles. "Sounds like it'd make for fun family reunions, don't it?" she asks with a grin. She's enjoying this way, way too much. Looking to Kat, Piper nods. "Explorer, right? He knew his stuff, but...." she gestures with a smirk. "History says he was a fun if interesting guy"

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"He 'discovered' the mainland - not sure I remember him being all that fun. Maybe just not for the youngish stepmother. The fact that you believe me means that you must have had your own brush with the supernatual methinks?" asks Kat.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper shrugs, "I'm just me. Piper Halliwell. I know about the supernatural" she says, staring at the empty bowl as if wanting it to refill itself. Piper's not one to magic food into being. Unless, well, cooking is magic. Some say it is...

Piper glances to Kat again, and smiles. "I'm going to regret running up a tab, aren't I?" she smirks. Oh she's liking the place well enough. Good food, good drinks, friendly company...

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Soda water and cheesy bacon balls aren't that expensive," Kat points out. She may have heard of the Haliwells but if she has she does not show it. Kat goes back to cleaning glasses.

Piper Halliwell has posed:
"So what's expensive, the hard stuff?" Piper says, "Hey I can afford this stuff. Alright, score!" she muses with a laugh, grinning more as she asks for another bowl and soda. Because she's gonna enjoy herself. "Did he really though? I mean, the Native Americans were here already so..." Piper points out. History's not her forte. But....she's trying. Give the witch credit

Ekaterina Vespucci has posed:
"Native American's didn't chart it which I think is what is meant when we say discovered," Kat clarifies. She picks up the phone and orders another bowl for Piper. "I have a class to teach soon unfortunately so I might have to leave - maybe I'll come see you in P3?"

Piper Halliwell has posed:
Piper nods with a smile. "Alright, I need to head back home anyway, so thank you for everything" Piper offers and gets up off the stool, throwing $50 on the bar. "Keep the change" she says and makes a beeline for the door. There goes Piper!
