Synopsis: If you drink a drink called loneliness, don't drink it alone.
Cast of Characters: Jessica Jones, Power Girl

Jessica Jones has posed:
After recent cases that had Jessica being in the more uppity upper east side, she's more than happy to be back in a hangout more up her speed. The lovely Josie's Bar, where swear words fly free, and scum gets dealt like scum. All in all, it's a live and let live setting, and it works. There's more honesty in it, seeing all of the sides of humanity that uptown places love to pretend do not exist.

Today Jessica is sitting at the very edge of the bar, with an open view to the entire place, basking in the ugly side of society, and the camraderie that does pop up here and there. It's likely how Hell's Kitchen survives.

Power Girl has posed:
Karen had spent her time jumping between alien worlds, fighting battleships and rescuing trapped heroes from hellish dimensions. Even for a Kryptonian it had been a bit much. She had been in desperate need of a little more 'normal' and this sort of place? It fit neatly into normal enough for her. Of course, she wasn't in her costume, instead she was just another 'civvie', dressed in jeans and some faded t-shirt of some old terrible horror movie that one couldn't see the lettering of anymore under a simple leather jacket.

Pushing through the threshold of the bar entrance, the woman makes her path towards the bar with a sweep of her gaze over the patrons. 'Normal' folk, as far as she could tell. The kind she needed to be around most right now.

Jessica Jones has posed:
With Karen looking like a normal enough woman, if not somewhat better off than most average patron at Josie's, Jessica decides to be a good soul and signals her over. "Hey there, why don't you come sit by me, where it's safe...some gnarly people around these parts..." Jess notes while pointing at a group gathered by a series of connected tables that seem like they could well work for Goons R Us.

Power Girl has posed:
"Gnarly?" Karen repeats, raising an eyebrow. But even so the blonde woman moves forwards, making to take a seat for herself and then shrugging her shoulders. "I don't think I've ever actually heard someone say 'gnarly' out loud before."

There's a raise of her hand, trying to draw the attention of the bartender for a drink of her own. "Thanks though, good to have someone to talk to and all..."

Jessica Jones has posed:
"I'm Jessica Jones, Principal Investigator at Alias Investigations, and I break boundries, you're welcome," Jessica retorts at Karen's remark with a flourished bow, and a raising of her drink, as one who knows her might expect, whiskey it is.

"So what brings you to this shit hole?" Jessica asks, and a growl and a look from Josie, gets her to at least raise her hand and grumble, "sorry, that was uncalled for, my bad Josie."

Power Girl has posed:
"Karen Starr...very much not a PI," the Kryptonian answers, chuckling a little at the exchange between the Jess and Josie before she manages to gain her own drink. Cider was decidedly lighter and weaker than whiskey but...well, the night was only just begining and downing a bottle of the harder stuff tended to get her weird looks when she didn't so much as get flushed. A tilt of her head, the blonde shrugs her shoulders.

"Long week...month...while. Lets just say I felt like getting away somewhere new and going for a drink to forget a fair bit of crazy."

Jessica Jones has posed:
"Not all of us are perfect," Jessica sounds cocky, but from the look on her face, she definitely knows she's not all that, and likely was being sarcastic. "I bet you're swamped by attention seekers wherever it is you're from, you're too beautiful not to have it...so, is it a curse?" Jessica muses, prefering to think of the worst of it, so she doesn't have to be jealous. Because damn, does Karen Starr look stunning.

Power Girl has posed:
A curse? Karen actually gives a little laugh at that, almost an inelligent snort before she shrugs. "Some days, I'm fairly sure the attention is fairly...localized," she muses, gesturing to herself. "It has its moments on both sides, but it does lead to people making an assumption or two."

A gesture towards Jessica, she gives a nod. "I mean, you're far from bad looking yourself. Does it make doing the PI thing harder?"

Jessica Jones has posed:
"That so...?" Jessica muses as she looks Karen over, and then motions at herself, "nothing special here. At least not next to your perfection." Jessica snorts, shrugging as she gets complimented by Karen, and drinks some more.

"In High School everyone ignored me, when it was good, bullied me when it was bad." She starts, before Karen's question refocuses her attention on their conversation, and she grins, "the fact I don't stand out helps. The fact I know how to talk to people, and cut through bullshit to get to the truth, that helps a lot actually."

Power Girl has posed:
"That's...neat," Karen offers, giving a little laugh and shrugging her shoulders. "I can respect that honestly, I swear there's plenty of people other there that you want to say one thing to, but it's 'not right' and would just make waves." Drawing from her drink, the blonde seems to take a moment before she actually provides some context to the comment. "I work at S.T.A.R. Labs, lot of the time you have to put up with people you're smarter than and their ideas just because they sit in a bigger chair."

Jessica Jones has posed:
"Amen to that sister, that's why I'm a P.I., because if I was at S.T.A.R. Labs, I'd be in prison after slapping one of those assholes silly," Jessica laughs, but there's some subtext suggesting she's dead serious, as she finishes up her glass.

Power Girl has posed:
"So," Karen muses as she drinks down a little more of her own drink, albeit perhaps less impressively than Jessica's own display. "What about you? What brings you out to this...cultural hotspot?" Of course there was a glance to Josie, but it seems her comment had gone unwitnessed for the moment and she was safe to continue. "Rough times for you too, or is it part of the whole...I want to say 'gig'? Image?"

Jessica Jones has posed:
"It's how I spend most of my evenings, whiskey is one hell of a cure to a shitty life," Jessica is surprisingly candid with Karen. She must have had quite a few drinks before Karen ever walked in this bar. "So...it's like that Billy Joel song says, share a drink called loneliness, but it's better than drinking alone?"

Power Girl has posed:
"Drink enough of it and it's probably a 'cure' for any kind of life'," Karen muses, but it wasn't really the beginings of a lecture, instead she signals for her own next drink. She'd ordered a whiskey of her own, but the glass is decidedly nursed rather than drained as she gives a little laugh and nods. "But that's fair. I suppose company is the real goal of being here anyway. Course, I'm sure anyone can -find- company of some sort in a place like this but..."

Her gaze drifts towards the 'mook' table, idly wondering if she'd tangled with some of the faces there in the past.

"But likeable company? That's a treat."
