Date of Scene: 13 February 2020
Location: Jean's Office - Xavier's School
Synopsis: Warren comes to visit Jean for a talk of FroYo and feelings and all that stuff.
Cast of Characters: Phoenix, Archangel

Phoenix has posed:
Jean is sitting in her office, where she can be found more often than not during the day, dealing with all the administrative work of the school. She's long since gained a true admiration to just how much Professor Xavier had on his plate, and he still managed to educate and train that founding team of X-Men. But being the telepath that she is, she's still looking up at the door even as Warren approaches and calls out, "come in, door's open."

Archangel has posed:
Morning in the school has most everyone in classes, but with Warren's class being more... after school activities, he gives him the freedom to come and go as he needs to. Reaching up to knock on the door of the headmistress' office, he pauses and then peeks in. "That is so not fair." he points out with a warm smile. "Hey, Jean? You busier than usual or just busy?" After making his way in, he heads over to the desk to set down a heart shaped box of cacao chocolates and a rose. "I figure you'll be getting enough handmade cards and such tomorrow, thought I'd beat the rush."

His tone is warm and teasing as he moves to take a seat, stretching out his wings so they drape over the arms of the chair. "How've you been?"

Phoenix has posed:
"Just, regular mind numbing, and sometimes infuriating administrative busy work," Jean offers Warren with a charming smile, leaving it in doubt as to how serious she is. "Good to see you, Warren, been a while..." she adds, "sorry I didn't wait for you to knock, figured I'd play it for old time's sake like the Professor used to do to us for office hours." Adding a playul wink she notes, "I am sitting in his office after all," though truth be told, it has been hers for quite some time.

"A Valetnine's gift for me? Aww, that's very sweet of you Warren," she says while taking a moment to look at the heart shaped box, picking up the rose, and getting up from her seat to give Warren a kiss on the cheek. "That's lovely, you shouldn't have. Thank you."

It's almost as if she intentionally didn't notice that last question.

Archangel has posed:
//How long have they worked together?// Jean will know that thought immediately as he leans into the cheek kiss. "I'm sure you'll get plenty of them, especially if a certain someone gets his act together." He rolls his eyes at that as he returns her smile. "And don't get me started on the humdrums of admin work. I never thought I'd have my own company at this age. I sometimes wonder how Roberto does it. And that's with me having a board of directors to work with."

"So if you're not going to tell me how you are, I guess I can discuss business first!" he decides, blowing out a breath. "I know you've seen the recent stuff with Genosha, and with Lorna being here and all..." he waves his hand in a lackidasical fashion as he ponders his words. "What is our stance on all of it? I want to help with the company. I think the idea is sound. I just know that Magneto's approach to it is not right. But I don't know if punishing the whole for the actions of one is right, you know? Especially considering my own past."

Phoenix has posed:
"Oh please, that'll never happen," Jean says half jokingly, and yet, with some bitter sounding subtext hidden somewhere in her voice. "I take it you don't enjoy running your company?" Jean asks curiously, "I thought that stuff came easy to you, all playboy mannerisms aside."

Jean does blush slightly as Warren bluntly points out how she evaded his question, "you weren't supposed to notice, Warren!" Jean chides, mock punching him with a tap on the shoulder.

As he gets to business, Jean tilts her head slightly, considering, before asking, "tell me your full idea."

Archangel has posed:
"We've been friends since high school, Jean. I don't need telepathy... okay, maybe I do. The mysteries of women and all." Warren responds, covering the hand on his shoulder and giving it a brief squeeze in support and friendly affection.

"Oh, it does come easy. That's the scary part. Too much like my father." Now it's his turn to sound slightly bitter. "I just didn't realize I'd have so much to take care of as well as keeping up appearances, and you know, not exactly easy or even possible to hide that I'm Angel."

He shrugs his shoulders, before returning to the subject at hand. "Nothing related to aeronautics or alternative fuels." Nothing that can be weaponized, in other words. "But, there's a few periodicals I can see about setting up an office there, depending on how they look at the press. And of course..." he sort of glances down as he chuckles. "There's the FroYo project. I'm sort of starting to push it to make it global. And maybe opening a shop or two in Genosha would help the economy?"

Phoenix has posed:
"We have," Jean agrees, though just thinking of those years, she does seem to get a little bit serious. Some of that jovial expression fading a bit. But she shakes it off quickly enough, "you don't need telepathy, it's true, and all this stuff about the mysteries of women is BS. You know it is! No matter how much Ororo would try and lord it over you," she laughs, and quickly backs out of her own statement, "please don't tell her I said that!"

"You pull it off nicely, but you know, you're always welcome here full time if you ever decided it's too much for you, Warren." Jean offers as she moves to sit back in her seat. leaning back a bit. "I think it sounds safe enough to go for it, Warren, if that's where your heart is set."

Archangel has posed:
"I just have concerns over people suggesting that this is me... us... condoning what Magneto's doing." Now he gets to the crux of his thoughts as Warren folds his hands in his lap. "We've fought him for years, Jean. And for the first time, he's trying, you know? Something right. And Lorna seems to be on board -- and before you ask, no, this is not some 'impress Lorna' thing. She has Roberto and I like red better than green." The wink is playful even if the subject is serious.

"I know I could come back here. I think I have a fair balance, though." he finally decides. "I have the board for the company. I help here when and where I can. And hey, it keeps me in shape, and I can test new flavors on the kids." There's a chuckle at that, but she can see him changing the subject, just like she did earlier. "So yeah. This is me kinda coming to get your blessings, oh wise one.'

Phoenix has posed:
"Exactly." Jean answers sharply, and briskly, clearly she never once thought it was a perfect situation. "I didn't ask about your favorite color, Warren," Jean teases in turn, "and of course I remember fighting him for years, I still feel uncomfortable to even have a one on one conversation with him."

"I'm always wondering...am I here, because I want to help the kids and carry the torch for the Professor? Or am I here because I'm scared to leave..." Jean whispers, as if worried anyone save for Warren might hear her words. "I don't know that I'm the wise one, pretty sure that always has been Hank," though to be fair, Jean has been more than livid at the whole donation to the school from drug money. But that's neither here nor there. They all made their share of mistakes. "You obviously have my blessing, if you really want it. But scratch the bit about doing clinical trials on the children," she warns half jokingly.

Archangel has posed:
Pausing, Warren seems to pick up on the gravitas of the situation. Taking her hands in his, he gives them a squeeze and he looks up at her. "I can't answer that for you. I don't think I could even if I was the telepath of the two of us. But I can say this... you are the most fearless person I have ever met." His thoughts go back to the sacrifices that she made, and his own hurt in all that. "And if it wasn't in no small way, for you, I may never have pulled through what Apocalypse did to me." The words are soft, but carry the weight of the truth behind them. "And I may have never said properly, but I owe you so much, Jean, that I may never be able to repay it."

"As for the rest? You're a lot better at the conversations that I am. And while Hank may be the wise one, Scott may be the leadery one, Bobby is the prankster, and I may be the pretty..." he winks, but adds, "You've always been the heart, Jean Grey." Leaning in, he kisses her cheek in turn. "You ever need to talk. Place to stay. Night out on the town where you don't need to worry about paying. I'm there." Releasing her hands, he hears the chime of the bell and draws in his breath. "And I know you have classes to attend to, so I'll let you get back to it."

Pulling away, he flutters his wings and grins. "Just one time. And it was licorise flavour and I was curious. You know I only stock the best flavors here." With a smile and a touch to his heart, he turns to make his way out and leaves Jean to her thoughts.
