Cast of Characters: Archangel, Petra Emreis

Archangel has posed:
It pays to have the scoop on some of the better places to get coffee in the Tri-State area. Mercutio's is one of those secrets that not many know about, but once learned about is near impossible to pass up. And while Warren may live and stay in Westchester, New York, the trip to Gotham on occassion is more than worth it. Dressed in a warm grey suit with a blue tie, he has on a darker overcoat that goes past his knees and a scarf around his neck to protect against the chill. But what may stand out the most are the two brilliant white wings on his back. There's no hiding them, really.

Carrying a newspaper under his arm, he grins as he arrives. "Buongirono!" he offers warmly as he makes his way to the counter, "I'll have a caffè corretto and prosciutto, swiss and egg panino, please." After paying, he finds his way to a small table for two, though he's a single as he settles down, opening the paper to the business section.

Petra Emreis has posed:
When you don't have the 'scoop'? Well, you need to do the research. Be it hunting a monster or a good breakfast, you need to ask around and check for yourself. With that in mind, Petra had arrived in Gotham. Of course there was 'work' here, even for the woman on her birthday, but first and foremost she'd decided to treat herself to a decent coffee and a sweet. A quick magical 'hop' from New York to Gotham, the novelty of cities in the States was still new for Petra after she'd arrived in the country a month ago.

With a step into Mercutio's, the white-haired girl was dressed rather plainly in her black jeans, halter top and a simple leather jacket over her shoulders. The scent of coffee and cooking meets was enough to have her pausing to inhale before she moves deeper in and sweeps her gaze over the patrons already occupying the space.

Archangel has posed:
The white hair is noticable, that much is certain. Warren glances up as the bell on the door give a gentle rattle, chiming the presence of a new arrival. His attention returns to his paper, trying to get caugt up on the events from the night before. As she comes up to the counter to order, Irene is placing an order on the counter. "For the Angelo!" she calls out.

Getting up to collect his food, Warren gives his wings a slight shake as he collects the plate and his coffee. "Looks wonderful, as always!" he offers to Irene with a smile, his attention turning to Petra. "Good morning." he offers with a swift and polite smile.

Petra Emreis has posed:
There were some who'd mistaken it for grey, others for blonde, but sure enough Petra's ashen locks were eye-catching none the less on the girl. Of course, not quite as eye-catching as a pair of wings! The sorceress gives a start, blinking a little and actually taking a step back. It wasn't fear or revulsion, just genuine suprise before she tilts her head to the side. She'd seen all manner of things in her many (and recently increased) years, but an 'Angel' that looked so blatant was a new one.

Of course, that ment she was left staring when she was finally addressed, leaving her to blink and flush a little with embarassment. "Hi!" she greets hastily, diverting her eyes back from the wings to the man himself. "Sorry I...didn't see those at first." Subtle as ever Petra. Nice.

Stepping around, she -does- at least make to seize a menu.

Archangel has posed:
In a classic turn of phrase, Warren chuckles and the corners of his eyes crinkle in amusement. "They're real. Well, sort of. But yes, they're amazing." Lifting his plate, he suggests. "The paninis here are pretty amazing." he offers as he moves to take his plate and coffee back to his table. "I'm Warren." comes the offer of greeting. "I have an empty spot at my table if you'd like to join me?"

Whether or not she decides to do so, he returns to his own seat, setting down the food items before settling back down, and his wings drape over the sides of the chair as he savors that first sip of alcohol-infused coffee with a sigh.

Petra Emreis has posed:
"I mean, they moved so..." Petra shrugs, inspecting her choices before she turns. "Just the small breakfast, toast and eggs, with a little bacon and mushroom if possible?" she requests of the serving staff. Then there's the coffee order, one that takes about as long as the breakfast itself but...well, she's European and immortal, that gives one plenty to make them picky about their coffee! Order placed, she turns back to Warren and his offer, giving a little shrug of her shoulders.

Why not?

Chair taken, she's left to sit and wait for her drink. "Petra," she offers in return, accent clearly 'Queens English' enough to mark her as not a local.

Archangel has posed:
"It's Valentine's Day, so I get asked alot if this is my interpetation of Cupid." Warren responds, rising for a moment before Petra takes her seat and he retakes his own to settle in. If he heard her extensive order on the coffee, he doesn't make a comment on it. "Nice to meet you, Petra."

"Been in town long?" he decides to venture between sips of coffee before reaching for one of the little sandwiches.

Petra Emreis has posed:
"Valent-" Petra begins before blinking, looking up towards the clock on the wall and giving a little laugh. "I had not noticed...It is actually my birthday of all things. You would imagine that all the hearts, chocolates and flowers would have reminded me?" A soft tsk of her tongue, the woman shrugs her shoulders. Thankfully, her drink arrives as his question follows and the white-haired girl shakes her head, gesturing to the clock. "A few hours only really. And only in the country about...a month now?"

Archangel has posed:
"Happy Birthday, then! And I'm sure that your suitors will make sure to ply you with plenty of gifts, doubly so for your birthday!" Warren offers encouragingly to her as he nods in thought. "How are you finding things so far, then?" he asks. "I know it can be a rather dramatic change. In most of the world, mutants and the like are rather... wide-spread? Dispersed!" That sounds better. "We're rather focused here."

Petra Emreis has posed:
A chuckle, Petra shrugs her shoulders, "I think they're likely as lost as I am, since I haven't seen any yet." She grins, glancing towards the kitchen in contemplation of her meal and then shrugging her covered shoulders with a thoughtful bite of her bottom lip. "I suppose so. Culture, food...food serving size. A 'small' drink simply...isn't." There's a grin, but she looks back to the winged man and nods. "Mutants are...less of a daily occurance in some parts of the world, but those who are different are always out there."

Archangel has posed:
While she waits for her own meal, Warren pushes his plate to the middle of the table in an offer to share his. "When my wings first appeared, I wanted to get rid of them. Even tried to cut them off." he admits. "They grew back. Eventually, with help, I've learned to embrace it. Who and what I am." he smiles, apparently having little issue with the subject at hand. "I remember the last time I was in Europe, I can understand the shock at things being so... large here. Obvious, maybe?" Then he considers. "Have you seen the area of New York that is dedicated to mutants yet?"

Petra Emreis has posed:
"I've been towards a place called 'Club Evolution'..." she speaks, frowning a little. "But we were...interupted before I made it there." Petra speaks, but she bites her bottom lip. "I guess perhaps I should have explored New York a little more before going wandering, but..." she shrugs her shoulders and sips her drink. Seems it's worth the trip after all, and soon enough Petra's own food comes to her table, leaving the Sorceress to inhale the scent with a smile. "Do you live around there?"

Archangel has posed:
Moving his plate to make room for hers, Warren nods. "I know the owners of Evo. Good group." he admits as he tucks into his sandwich for a bite and swallows before continuing. "New York is definetly for tourists, but Metropolis is something to behold." he admits. "And Gotham is where you go if you want to look for trouble." There's a rise of his shoulders in thought. "I live in the Upper East Side of New York, where I own a small company." He downplays that part. Hard. "I also teach a little. Business and well..." A flitter of his wings. "...flight instruction."

Petra Emreis has posed:
"Looking for trouble?" Petra repeats, even as she takes her first mouthful of her meal. He wasn't wrong, but she wasn't really going to admit that out loud. Instead the woman gives a little giggle at the second comment, raising an eyebrow. "Do you get many people for 'flight instruction'?" she questions, "One would think people with wings would be more frequently spotted. Or do you happen to be a pilot as well?"

Another sip, she'd noted the comment about the company and there was a light movement at the words that suggested she'd noticed and acknowledged it...but she wasn't going to press if he didn't wish to extend on things.

Archangel has posed:
"The wings aren't just for show, but I am a commercially licensed pilot as well." Warren admits with a chuckle. "I try not to freak everyone out by jumping out of the plane to fly alongside."

"Well. Not too often."

The tone is warmed, amused. "Were you interested?" In what, he'll leave up to her to decide, deciding to demure in this as he finishes off his panini.

Petra Emreis has posed:
She actually gives another laugh at that, placing her hand up to her mouth to try and maintain some semblance of manners before shaking her head. "Tempting, but I am decidedly lacking in both wings of my own and knowledge to fly an aircraft." A pause, she actually looks down at her plate. "First time I went on a plane? I was nearly ill I was so nervous. The idea of being in a box so high up with so little control over what happens had me positively green."

Of course, planes had been a little more...new back then, but she didn't rush to mention that.

Archangel has posed:
"Flight is something you have to get accustomed to. Perhaps I can help you with it sometime." Though Warren doesn't exactly explain how. He's about to say more when his phone vibrates and he glances at it. With a sigh, he takes out a twenty to set on the table as a tip. "I need to head into the office. Maybe we can continue this conversation another time?" he suggests, while he has his wallet out, he pulls out his card and offers it to her.

Warren Worthington, III
CEO: Worthington Industries
(212) 555-XXXX - and he takes a moment to write his cell phone number on the back before offering it to her.

Petra Emreis has posed:
"I'll give it some thought," Petra nods, taking the card as offered and tucking it into the breast pocket of her jacket. "Perhaps if I'm feeling a little extra brave?" Seemingly amused by her own comment, she none-the-less gives another nod and a smile. "It was nice to meet you regardless Warren. Thank you for the company."

With that, she's left to enjoy her meal and glance to the departing mutant. If this first encounter was anything to go by? Gotham was going to be an interesting city!
