Cast of Characters: Andre Jackson, Nightingale

Andre Jackson has posed:
It's early in the afternoon and the Salem Center is pretty active even if it's a Sunday. Still Andre wants pizza, and so he heads to the Pizza Joint. It's pretty early still though, this is the best time to get some good pizza to start ones day off.

Nightingale has posed:
One person's early was another person's lunch time. Since her last attempt at getting some pizza had not ended well, it had become a matter of pride for Shannon to bring home some pies. She's waiting in line to place her order, right along with everyone else. Today she's wearing a cream tunic sweater, dark blue jeans, caramel suede boots, and a red-and-white striped 'Where's Waldo' style hat. Her hair is long and loose, save for one pale blue braid just a shade or two darker than her eyes on the left side of her face, bedecked with three small silver beads.

Then there's the wings. There's no hiding them. Tucked in neatly behind her back, they are large, snowy white, and feathery like an angel's. One can only imagine their span when outspread.

But other than that? She seemed like any normal teen, just going for a bit of one of the ultimate junk foods of all time.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Walking and getting in line, he stands behind Shannon, he notices the wings, "Shannon?" he asks. He met her a while back, but it's hard to forget someone with wings. He waits for her to turn around, though he also looks around watching everyone around them, just seeing if anyone is amazed like him. A silly smile is on his face. He didn't want to tap her shoulder just yet due to knwoing how some mutants are about their space.

Nightingale has posed:
It was unusual for Shannon to hear her name called, let alone out in the middle of public like this. Her wings ruffle and tense, beginning to spread out as if she might fly away at any moment. Something was familiar about that voice, at least vaguely.

     But who could it be?

Turning about, her glacier blue eyes scan the customers present for the source of the greeting, finally lighting upon Andre. Her gaze is perhaps a bit more steely than the last time he saw her, her fingers curling slightly as her hands rest at her sides. However, she does smile lightly, dipping her head. "Hi!" she chimes out. There was no sense in being unfriendly, after all! Time would tell if there was a threat or no.

Andre Jackson has posed:
Andre smiles as he sees Shannon, it has been some time since the Christmas Charity they last met at. He stretches out a bit and looks to Shannon, "So it is you." he says. "How're you doing?" he asks. "I'm Andre." he says to her as he looks to Shannon, reintroducing himself to her. "I know it's been a while, but I didn't think I would see you here." he chuckles.

Nightingale has posed:
Smiling lightly, Shannon settles her wings behind her once more, with a quick little flicking motion. "Where pizza is concerned? This place is the last word around here." She holds out her hand, shifting her stance a little bit. "I think I remember a little bit. It was that huge Christmas charity thing, wasn't it? What brings you out this way?"

Andre Jackson has posed:
He smiles and nods his head, "Yeah it was fun. I'm just hanging out with my aunt and her girlfriend. I was going to get a few pizzas and it's movie marathon." he says to her. "So what have you been up to?" he asks as he looks to Shannon, he takes a moment and gestures for Shannon to move up as the line is moving.

Nightingale has posed:
Moving up in line with the rest, Shannon finds herself at the counter. She offers a smile to Andre before turning to the cashier. "Hi, think I'd like to order a few pies. Four large pies... two cheese pizzas with extra cheese, one supreme pizza with extra cheese, hold the anchovies, and one meat lover's pizza, extra cheese?" Good God, was she ordering for a party? Slipping a few bills from her pocket, she pays for the pies, gets a little ticket, and settles down in a nearby booth to wait.

"It's been... a little crazy. Illyana's been well. Andrea left to take care of some things not long after the charity event, and me, well... I've just been keeping up with music and other things." She grimaces a bit, looking around at the crowd. "Ran into some anti-mutant trouble here a few weeks ago. Got cut up a bit, had to get a few stitches, but I heal pretty fast."

One wing is extended towards the other side of the booth, where the seat is empty. "Plenty of room if you like. Maybe take a load off, and tell me about what's been up with you?"

Andre Jackson has posed:
Once she orders Andre is looking at her and blinks, "Damn girl, you having a party?" he asks as she places her order. He laughs and walks up and orders two large pizzas with pepperoni, ham, and onions. He pays for his pies and walks over and sits down with Shannon. He looks at her and listens as she tells him whats been going on. He chuckles a little bit and nods his head. "Well seems like a lot has been going on with you." he though his eyes narrow when he hears that she was hurt.

He looks around at the people near them, "I'm sorry you were hurt." he says as he looks at Shannon. "You may heal fast, but you shouldn't be attacked like that SHannon. He looks visibly upset, and he shakes his head, "People are assholes."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just smiles, and shrugs. "Well, I did try three times to walk away from the confrontation. And those three goons would have none of it. They were stupid enough to attack me outside. So trust me, I gave as good as I got when I was forced. Not something I enjoyed, but had to be done." She smiles a little bit wider, resting her head in her hand, her elbows on the edge of the table. "Someone wise told me you go down swinging, because the world needs to see that somebody is going to stand up to those abusing power." Those words are uttered with a gravity, almost reverence, that leaves one wondering just who spoke them in the first place.

Andre's reaction to so many pizzas draws bubbly laughter from the winged teen, her brows quirking and the corners of her lips tugging upwards. "Not far from the truth," she admits. "Got a few hungry friends, and that attack on me happened when I was bringing pizza home from here. The pies never made it home. It's become a matter of pride, dangit!"

Andre Jackson has posed:
Andre continues to listen and he frowns, still he was upset. He grins a little bit as she tells him she gave as good as she got. "Good. Still, I'm seeing New York is jsut as bad as Gotham." he shakes his head. "I will walk you home just in case someone is stupid enough to try again." he says to her. Though when she mentino it's a matter of pride to return home with pizza, he does laugh. "Yeah you are right about that."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon shakes her head, but smiles, reaching over to gingerly touch Andre's hand by way of thanks. "These wings aren't for show, and they can't catch me in the air. I'll be okay." She doesn't get into 'home' further, but rather, allows the subject to remain unspoken. "Tell you what, I'll take a rain check on that?"

Andre's description of Gotham has her furrowing her brows and she nods. "There's hate and bigotry wherever you go. You can't control it, but you can control how you react to it."

Andre Jackson has posed:
He nods his head, "Alright, I didn't think those beautiful wings of yours are for show." he says to her. He does relax and when she touch his hand in thanks, he nods his head. "Well while we're here, I will watch your back." he says as he looks to her. He looks at the line as they wait, "You are right." he says to her. "You have to do what is best in each situation but one thing I will never be is a victim. I hate fighting, but it's a neccesity and honestly I deal with gang bangers on a regular in Gotham." he shakes his head.

Nightingale has posed:
Smiling, Shannon nods, her nose twitching a little bit at all the savory smells wafting through the air of the little pizza parlor. "Long as I get into the air safely I'll be okay." Now, whether the pizzas she would be bringing home would make it that far or wind up in her growling belly, well, it was anybody's guess!

"Yeah, I'd rather be healing than fighting, but sometimes, you've gotta do what you've gotta do. So you might as well learn to do it right, 'cause once you draw a weapon--even if that weapon is your own empty hand--you get a big target painted on your back."

Andre Jackson has posed:
He nods his head, "That is true." eh says as he looks to Shannon. "You are very correct on that." he chuckles. He looks around and he can smell the pizzas and as he is about to say something his stomach growls loudly. Andre blinks and looks down rubbing his stomach, "Oh that is embarrassing." he says and there is some laughter coming from those who may have heard him.
