Cast of Characters: Saoirse Flynn, Nightwing

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
The donut shop is closed. The known superhero Bionic Girl in her everyday public identity of Michelle Matthews and her sister Saoirse Flynn were at the shop. Staying behind Michelle literally flew off after bidding Saoirse farewell. The employees leave and give Saoirse a box of donuts. "Thanks guys!" she calls out, her accent unmistakenly Irish. She floats slowly up onto the roof and sits on the edge, dangling her feet over. "Okay, it's safe!" She calls out. "There isn't anyone around, so it's safe to go home!" The employees split and head onto their ways home under the quasi attentive eye of the curvy blonde as she opens the box of donuts. "Ooooo! Cake donuts today!"

Nightwing has posed:
It doesn't really matter what sitting he finds himself in, be it Bludhaven, Gotham or New York, when the sun goes down it is almost an instinctive reaction by now -- the costume and mask go on. It is why he finds himself out on the rooftops of the city, why he finds himself on patrol. This city has quite a few more defenders then his own home of course, but he's gotten used to all of this by now -- the noctural prowling through shadows, keeping an eye out for trouble that he might not even know what to do with himself if he wasn't on patrol. Sometimes it is quiet, boring even. Sometimes... not so much. And sometimes he finds something that he couldn't have possibly been expecting. Laying eyes on the blonde on the rooftop below, apparently sitting there quite content to simply snack on her prizes there on the ledge. Dropping, his descent is slowed at the last minute and he lands on the roof in a crouch, swift and silent as he rises back to his feet and discretely clears his throat to make sure that she is aware of his presence. "Everything alright here?" he asks slowly.

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse picks up a donut and sniffs it "Oooh, it smells fresh. Very donuty. Oooh, you're so going into my belly." She's about to take a bite when she hears the threat clearing question and shrieks dropping the donut into the box and hugs the box to her. "You can't have my donuts you donut theif!" She sits there a moment protective of the box before it occurs to her to process the information. "Oh..you aren't up here to rob me of my donuts are you?" She looks back behind her "Oh, your one of those super people aren't you? Want to have a seat and share a donut? I'm just making sure eveyrone gets out okay, and doesn't get robbed. My sister and I go to this place sometimes, and things can get kind of rough. Sometimes, when I come at night, they give me donuts. Check it out, they were left over at the end of the night! They were totally free, they just give them to me, I don't have to pay for them at all or anything!"

Nightwing has posed:
The shop below is not completely unknown to him. He's spent a great deal of time in New York over the years afterall and finding good places to eat seems to be one of the prime requisites for being a young hero. That and a tragic past of some sort it seems. Never underestimate the value of a good trauma to drive someone towards a life of helping others. Or becoming a supervillain. It's a fine line sometimes.

Standing there on the middle of the roof, Nightwing tilts his head to the side ever so slightly as he watches the young woman before him, any concerns or fears that she is intending to jump rather quickly put at ease. Why anyone would choose to sit up here with a free box of donuts and snack is a little less clear, but then hey, he's out here on the rooftops too so he might not be one to talk. "I am not here to rob you over your donuts, no," he freely admits with a certain bemused expression on his face. Clearly she seems a little more at ease now and he takes a few steps closer to that ledge. "Keeping an eye on things. That's decent of you. And if you have a chocolate dip, I wouldn't say no," he allows with a faint smirk. "If you don't mind me asking, how is it that you got up here?"

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse hmmns. "It's kind of darker so it's hard to tell, maybe we'll just have to keep biting into them to find out. This one looks close..it might be blueberry though." She puts the donut on her finger so her finger pokes out of it and holds it out for him to take.

kicking her feet a little she rests the box on her lap. "Well my sister is a superhero, probably like you. She's Bionic Girl, she fights supervillians, and trains with the army in anti-super tactics, and things like that. I'm not a superhero like that. Making sure people get home safe at night, that's more my speed. It's my heroic deed! We kind of come from a family of heros and villians. I guess now it's more villian than hero." SHe peers down, then over at Nightwing "I used gravity manipulation to make myself less heavy and just pulled myself up here. I do that a lot since I don't really walk very well. I keep being told that I shouldn't because people want to hurt people who have abilities, or are different. But well..I just feel like this is part of who I am. And that people should be comfortable with who they are. I guess that might make me a little bit selfish because it's not taking into account the feelings of those that have those feelings. But..it's just the way I feel."

Nightwing has posed:
While Nightwing is quite a detective in his own right, able to gather evidence and make logical deductions, he is also perhaps a little more inclined to follow his instincts and trust his gut then some of his fellows in the Batclan. And as unusual an encounter as this might be, he doesn't sense any ill will from the young woman. That's enough for him and he treads over the rest of the way, sinking down onto the ledge only a short distance away. "Mmmm, looks about right," he agrees, another wry smile sliding across his face as he plucks the proffered donut from her finger. "Thanks," he offers with a nod of his head before biting into the sugary treat. Nope, blueberry. Ah well, that's good too.

As she relays her story, the dark-haired vigilante listens without offering any interjections or aside, giving her a chance to say her piece without interruption. "I see. That sounds difficult," he offers up quietly. "There are probably some people out there that might want to harm you because of what you can do, it's true. But I don't think that's how most people would feel. I certainly don't think that you should feel bad because of it," he asserts before smiling once more. "So. I'm Nightwing. Thanks again for the donut," he says. "Your sister is Bionic Girl. And that makes you...?" he asks archly.

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse picks up a donut and takes a bite chewing as she listens. "I'm Saoirse Flynn. I don't have any fancy super name. Well, I guess in my personals ad I went by Marshmallow Girl, so maybe that's it? I get free marshmallows for life because of a contract that Michelle did with Ultra Puff marshmallows and being a spokeswoman. That's definately my best superpower. They just send me them for free, it's pretty great."

She smiles softly "So it's nice to meet you Nightwing, I guess I'm Marshmallow Girl. At lest for now. I never really got to grow up with a normal childhood, so I'm kind of learning how things work and how to live again. Sometimes it's easier than others. I thought I might find a valentine so I went to somewhere randomly. Um, don't go to places randomly to find a valentine. That place was a bar that I think was all vampy. It was weird and I didn't find a date. I was wearing this very pretty red dress. And people just were getting all bitey, and people were fighting, and it just wasn't what I was looking for. Oh! But I totally scored on half price valentine's day candy! Michelle and I ate a bunch the next day, our tummies were so full from chocolate! Hee!"

Nightwing has posed:
Marshmellow Girl, huh? Well, it is certainly a whole lot more welcoming then Nightwing or Batman. And if she has decided to make it her life's work to protect donut shops and candy stores it is probably very fitting too. Indeed, the dark haired young man grins faintly as she offers that up, dipping his head in acknowledgement. "Well then Saoirse, or Marshmellow Girl if you prefer. It's very nice to meet you. I'm not sure if getting free marshmellows actually qualifies as a power, but I guess it is a nice perk. The fact that you can manipulate gravity to get you up here is fairly impressive though," he comments, still just a little bemused.

Someone certainly is bubbly aren't they? He doesn't necessarily see a lot of that. Gotham and Bludhaven aren't exactly known for their good cheer afterall and do the hero thing long enough it is hard not to get a little jaded. He has been able to find enough balance to still keep a pretty bright outlook on things, but it is definitely hard sometimes. "Check. I will not look for my next Valentine in a vampy bar," he agrees sagely. Hey, it seems like good advice. Not something he was ever really considering, but good advice nonetheless. "Sounds like it all turned out okay, what with the free candy and all. But they weren't really trying to bite you at that bar, were they?"

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse shrugs "Oh, the gravity thing is just something I use. But the marshmallows, I get them all the time, and you can eat them! Best ability ever." She giggles softly, trying to choke it down a bit. "Well..they weren't trying to bite me, which kind of made valentine's day even a little more ick. A girl can't even get bitten! But I don't quite have the same kind of physicality as others do. So I think I might not have been so tasty to them." She thinks for a moment. "You know, I'm looking for penpals to interact with. I'm not very socially adept, I don't know if you could tell but I tend to babble. I know I make Michelle a little crazy sometimes, but I wasn't able to talk to people until the last few years. Sometims being a hero can take a big cost personally, and I had to re-learn how to talk, and walk and communicate. So I just tend to go on, and on, and on. And well..if you want to be penpals, you can contact me anoynamously at marshmallowunicorn@yahoo.com if you want. I know what being around superheros is like. Sometimes it..well. It isn't very glamorous, and it takes a toll. An often unspoken toll upon the person. You should have people you can talk with, I think that might help people."

Nightwing has posed:
That all sounds rather... traumatic actually. Even the most cheerful of folk are apparently not immune it would seem, no matter how they then choose to approach the world. Again, Nightwing finds himself sort of swept away in that torrent of words, finishing off his donut as he occasionally nods, amused smile still creasing his features. "I see. Well, hopefully you have better luck in the future. I guess," he allows, not sure that he wants to wish anyone get bit, even if it's not likely to affect them unduly. "Sounds like you've gone through a lot. It's nice to see that you've kept this sort of outlook on life throughout it. I appreciate the offer and just might take you up on that sometime. I think we all do need a little good cheer from time to time," he agrees, slowly rising to his feet. "Keep up the good work Marshmellow Girl. I'll rest easier knowing that the local donut shops are under your watchful eye," he offers with a playful grin, raising a pair of fingers to his forehead and offering her a little salute. "Until next time," he says before drawing out his grapnel, firing it off with the soft hiss of releasing compressed air as he takes back to the night. Perhaps just a little more cheerful.

Saoirse Flynn has posed:
Saoirse hmmns. "Well..there won't be any good to be had by being glum." She offers a wave as she stares at him leaving "Oh, so that's how he got up here...or maybe he super-hopped..but probably the shooty thing."
