Safety Of The Waldorf
Date of Scene: 22 February 2020
Location: Waldorf Astoria hotel room, NYC
Synopsis: Oliver and Vanessa discuss her situation and the threats made against her.
Cast of Characters: Copycat, Green Arrow

Copycat has posed:
Oliver's return to the hotel room he'd placed Vanessa in for safety from Yu Phun's men, brought about a release of the emotions both had kept inside about the other. Now Vanessa is reclining in Oliver's arms. Accepting this isn't a dream, she smiles and brushes her fingers along his arm.

"Thank you for coming for me," she tells him. "I really didn't know that I was going to make it through that... the situation. The lawyer they'd given me, I swear I knew more about the legal system than him," she says with a soft sigh. She has her back resting on Oliver's chest, lying back with his legs to either side of her. She turns her head to look towards Oliver. "So... all those things I wanted to know about you that I didn't ask before. Should I ask? Or... maybe just let things keep being revealed on their own? Oliver Just-Queen."

Green Arrow has posed:
Oliver feels relaxed now, propped up on one elbow and feeling Vanessa's warmth, one arm wrapped across her to keep the woman loosely against him. Her voice makes him smile and he looks down to her. "That's how it normally is. The system doesn't protect those that can't afford it." that's part of why he exists as Green Arrow, though not that he goes there. Though it may sound as an odd thing for someone as rich as him to say. Curious.

A sigh escapes him, comfortable with her presence, "So I do what I can but .., your case was different." very different. He brushes fingertips up across the woman's hair. "You can make all the questions you want of me, Vanessa. But no more Just-Queen." a brief chuckle escaping his lips.

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa grins gently and she leans her head back against Oliver's shoulder near where it meets his neck. An arm reaches back behind her, gently looping about him to caress her fingers through the back of his hair. "So the men who came to my apartment... you said you wanted to take me where? To Starling City? Do you think we'll be safe away from them there?" she asks.

Vanessa turns her head a bit. "I don't want to put you in any danger. Though I guess you've got security and all," she says, already realizing it's probably foolish of her to even worry about matters.

Vanessa turns a little more on her side to make it easier to see his face. "I didn't think I was going to see you again," she says softly. She looks down, a little timid smile coming to her face. "I couldn't stop thinking about you just the same. I felt... silly for it. That it was just a night. Dancing and talking. And... I'm supposed to be a grown woman who knows better."

Green Arrow has posed:
That leaning makes it so Oliver's head tilts to meet Vanessa's, resting against her and closing his eyes when she starts to run her fingers through his hair. His chest heaves up and down slowly. Relaxed. A man without any worry or thought but Vanessa tonight. She does make a good question though. "Safe. I can't be certain. I know those men have a presence in Starling as well. But leaving you here would be worse." he muses quietly, no other sound in the room but their voices now.

"I have a few tricks up my sleeve, and I have been working to make sure those people are gone for good from Starling." But he doesn't appear ready to tell her about Green Arrow just yet. When she turns he brushes a thumb over her cheek.

"It was the same for me. I can be ..., very focused on my work. Which is why I left that night. When I returned it had already closed. But my thoughts were always going back to you." when she says she would had known better he mmms, "Did you feel you don't have a right to be happy?"

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa moves her head gently into Oliver's touch, closing her eyes as he caresses over the soft skin of her cheek. "I knew I should have stayed longer. Stayed until they closed, then walked Sally home," Vanessa replies of the diner that night.

She looks up into his eyes as he asks her about her right to be happy. "I suppose, well, I hadn't thought of it that way. But maybe. I'd have just said, the world hasn't seemed to want to throw a lot of happiness my way. But I try to make the best of it. Just, sometimes hope can kill you if put too much stock in it. At least, that's been my experience.

Vanessa turns her head to brush a gentle kiss against Oliver's thumb where it's caressing her. "I'd rather be with you. Safe, or not safe," she tells him.

Green Arrow has posed:
"Other times hope is the only thing that keeps us moving." The way Oliver says that is as if he has had intimate experience with it. Perhaps on that island where he was stranded but then again his story isn't that known out of Starling. "I don't believe I'd be the same anymore without it." the hand that was caressing her face turns and moves up to wrap around her softer one.

"I will do my best to make sure it's safe rather than not." Though he can't help but smile when she says that. That she'd want to be with him no matter what. Considering his night activities it may just turn unsafe sooner than later. It does make him wonder if he is not being selfish, if he should not have her go to a secluded place, a foreign country. Italy comes to mind, and then visiting it with her...

His mind seems to wander a bit, gaze briefly unfocused but then his grin deepens and he asks. "Tell me something about yourself, Vanessa. What do you want me to know about you?"

Copycat has posed:
Vanessa turns more towards Oliver as he takes her hand, and after a moment she shift, moving to sit facing him, kneeling on the bed between his legs. The fingers of one hand wrap about his, while the other hand goes to ruffle through her dark hair.

She repeats, "What do I want you to know about me?" She gives a soft smile that seems a little rueful. "I'm guessing you probably already know a bit, from the legal case? If you do, and you're not dissuaded from... from this," she says, glancing about the hotel room where they have been together. "I guess you can probably handle the rest then? I've not made what one would call, good life choices. And, it's left some baggage on me. But I'll try not to bring too much of that with me. I'm actually a little paranoid about being safe."

She lets out a sigh. "You'll see soon enough. Me and locks are old friends. And I have trouble sleeping sometimes for it. Movies will help knock me out. I have slept a lot on my couch for needing the TV to help knock me out."

Green Arrow has posed:
When Vanessa sits up on the bed in front of him he turns so as to face her, one arm behind his head and his blue eyes up and watching her, the other hand squeezing about hers, relaxed, at 'home' with Vanessa.

"Dissuaded?" He doesn't laugh, instead he bringing himself up to sit, "On the contrary. The past is the past. I am more interested on how we will face the future." but he stays silent until the end after, waiting for her to finish, "I remember the locks back at your place. You will find I am very fond of having good security too." and if she eventually finds the Cave she may discover how much he thinks about security. That place is a safe.

"Movies.., is that where your love from the old classics came from?" But he can relate, he has had his trouble sleeping ever since coming from that island. Some nights worse than others ... Now that he is finally sitting he brings her close to him, arms wrapping about her.
