Cast of Characters: Zorro, Petra Emreis

Zorro has posed:
It is night-time in the East Side of Manhatten. The late Winter air was still surprisngly cold and people you walked past were still wearing their jackets. There was a sirprsing lack of foot traffic in tnis area, no doubt due to the lateness of your walk.

You eventually walk by a old apartment building with a big sign plastered on the window claiming the structure as ptoperty of Griffin and Fields. G&F, were, of course, the company intent on gentrifying a sizable portion of Mutant Tow, driving out the occupants. As you walk by the building, you hear waht sounds like a cry of horrific pain coming from a nearby alleyway.

Petra Emreis has posed:
There were many reasons to be out and about at night, for most it was either the pursuit of 'Nightlife' or the retreat home from the labours of the day. For Petra however? It was a little more than that. Even after centuries, there would never be a shortage of things that lurk in the dark to pray on people, nor an absence of mystery. Wrapped in simple black jeans, a matched jacket offset by a bright red t-shirt revealed beneath, the Ashen-haired girl had been doing something perhaps more often associated with the masked heroes and a certain 'Slayer': she'd been patrolling.

Destiny or luck had brought her closer to the old appartment building, but as the cry of pain rings out? It's her senses and morals that has Petra turning, the swift steps of her boots not quite silent as she rounds the corner into the mouth of the alleyway.

Zorro has posed:
As Petra got closer she would see what appeared to be a group of men wearing various jackets beating down on a hapless victims. Suddenly, one of the men turns around, and sense of familiarty courses through you. It is the "Hardy" impersonator from the movie theater, still as rotund as ever and wearing a yellow jacket and blue jeans. He immediately looks at you in suprise, and in annoyance, he evidently did not recognize you.

He suddenly pokes another man in the shoulder, revealing a scrawny, blond man wearing a blue jacket, and points at you. The blond man grins and pulls out a pocket knife and charges at you. Evidently, they did not want witnesses.

Petra Emreis has posed:
Certainly Petra was dressed diffently, enough not to be recognized without her gown and finery, but a mind trained to recognize detail didn't so easily forget someone as striking as 'Hardy'. Her eyes move over the men, sweeping and assessing as she'd been trained so very long ago. Outnumbered, limited mobility, an innocent victim caught in the middle. Limited options, but certainly not none.

Lips that had parted to offer warning and the option of surrender close again as the man charges with a knife. They didn't want peace and they certainly didn't think they needed it. She'd make them rethink that...but already the man was upon her swinging that knife. He probably expected fear, a woman shrieking and flailing to escape; instead she steps inwards, gripping the man's arm and twisting to try and keep the blade away from her before her other hand comes up and she utters a word under her breath.

The spell was simple, but the force of the air that hit the thug in the chest probably felt like a kick from a full-grown war horse.

Zorro has posed:
As the man goes flying from the attack, Hardy's eyes suddenly widened. It seemed like He remebered you, and wanted nothing to do with you. Suddenly, he yells out to the rest of the crew," Kill her! Kill her now!" Three of the remaining men immedialtely charge at Petra at once, leaving Hardy and another man behind. You also know get a good look at the victim, and it was another blast from the past. The victim was the swordsman in black from the theater, and he appeared to be lying unconcious on the concrete.

Petra Emreis has posed:
Recognition indeed strikes again as she spots the swordsman crumpled as he is, a harsh reminder of the concept that no matter how skilled you were, opportunity and luck could still have you caught out. He was still breathing, that was enough, but his position limited her options as the screams calling for her death filled the stonework and more men came her way. No fireballs or lightning bolts today, instead she shifted her stance. A foot drawn back, one hand raised and hips forty-fire degrees, it looked like something from a martial artist's teaching, but there was more to come.

Sweeping a hand against the brickwork, the stone began to crack and reform, several baseball-sized rocks floating from the break and then propelling themselves towards the thugs with suprising speed, but she wasn't done yet!

"Srebrna Dama~"

The calls was enough, a name bringing the weapon from where it lay in her home across space and time into her fingers. The gleaming silver longsword brandished with a flourish, she held it point-forward towards the thugs: one last warning before they tried their luck with another swordsman...or woman in this case.

Zorro has posed:
The three thugs curse and swear as they are pelted with the rocks, one of them eventually crumpling onto the ground, KO'ed from the onslaught. Once the sword manifests, the two thugs who survied the brick attack flee, alongside one other, leaving Hardy all alone.

Hardy suddenly pulls out a snub noised pistol from his pocket and aims it at Zorro's head, obviously he intends on finishing the job before fleeing

Petra Emreis has posed:
Could one really expect a fair fight, an honorable duel from thugs who would ambush a man in an alleyway? Petra shouldn't really be suprised in the slightest. None the less her eyes widen and her lips part in shock as she's left with a problem that a sword is very much not the solution to.

Crap.

It was a game of quickdraw and she had a disadvantage, no time to think of something complex or cast some fanciful spell to disarm the man, instead she was left to react in instict. A flash of magic, a streak of magic, suddenly the distance was a lot shorter as she lashed out with her blade towards the weapon being brandished. Enchantment had made sure the weapon would never lose its edge, made it cut so much surer and stronger than its materials should allow...but there was no telling for sure if she was going to be meeting the metal of the weapon of the softness of flesh as she tried to stop the execution.

Zorro has posed:
Hardy gaped as his gun was sliced in half by the sword. He then turned and fled down the alley, swearing rapidly as he did. The prone form of Zorro was now safe from any more harm from the thug's attack. Nearby, you see his sword buried within a pile of trash, still in pristine condition
