Tinyplot: Odin's Revival

Thor has posed:
At the moment, all is well on Asgard. The people are fairly happy, they go about their daily lives, and they are generally doing well. Thor has put his brother in charge of security...and also asked him to use his cleverness to improve various industries, like forging and so on. Loki is actually a welcome sight on Asgard right now, as he has gained the respect of the populace for restoring it. Thor is also working to revive his father, which will take some doing, but since Fenrir did not kill him, it can be done.

Loki has posed:
Loki doesn't poof in unexpected. He actually walks to Thor's location, appearing to be in good spirits, content even. As he approaches his brother he smiles, "Thor!" He holds a cup of mead in his left hand, "I'd have brought you drink but.. some decisions are best made with a sober mind." He grins and dangles the cup, "Unless you're done with all this seriousness for the day?"

Thor has posed:
Thor shakes his head. "I could wish I were done with all seriousness, but...I've had to have a clear head more often than I'd like. Relaxing is not so easy anymore." The decisions of Asgard weigh heavily on him, though in truth, it's the idea of decisions weighing on him that bothers him now, not any decisions he's actually had to make. Asgard is in such a good spot that status quo has been more than fine for the populace.

Loki has posed:
Loki nods and takes a drink, "It helps that I can sober myself up with a wink and snap.." He chuckles, "What weighs on your mind today then? I can assure you that we are not in any danger.. unless idleness and boredom overtake the populous. Weak sword arms? Fat Asgardian soldiers?"

Thor has posed:
"No...none of that. It's mostly father. I'm considering going to the Norns to seek out his revival. Asgard must have an All Father. That means either reviving father, or drinking from Mimir's well. I will...have to drink from the well eventually, but I'd rather today not be that day." Because when he drinks from the well, he'll be king indeed, and Odin...will probably be more or less gone for good.

Loki has posed:
Loki strokes his chin in thought, "Of course he -can- be brought back. I don't suppose we shouldn't... and I would be lying if I said that I didn't want to.. show him how I've changed." His eyes darken with regret for a moment, "...but. Magic always comes with a price brother. Ours is no different but it's hardly the tarot shop nonsense in our case. The Norns wrote his fate long before we were even born. They can change it.. but.." He finishes his drink, sets the cup down, and spreads his arms out into the air, "Who can say after that? If they pull their strings then.. something tugs. All that weaving.. so much is tied together at this point. Especially something they weaved so long ago. It's your choice of course. Seeing the knots they've tied up is beyond even my ability. But consider that even when gods tug at them bad things can happen. I don't believe that father wouldn't want to return to Asgard but I can already hear his scolding.."

Thor has posed:
Thor seems more resolute. "His fate, from the beginning, was to perish at the paws and fangs of Fenrir. But if Fenrir didn't kill him...then his fate was, well, not followed properly. That's most of the reason why the Norns can do anything at all. His final fate in Ragnarok...it's like, well, if anything other than Jormungandr killed me, I could be brought back for the same reason. Our fates aren't so easily defied."

Hmmm. "You're probably right about the scolding. He's probably enjoying the time off, and the be careful what you wish for I got. The crown is harder to bear than it looks. ...Still, the other option is the Well, and I'm not fond of it."

Loki has posed:
Loki thinks, "Yes.. well deduced. Fate has already been altered, even if by a thread, no pun intended.." He grins, "Then I suppose there isn't any reason to... fear this course of action anymore than there is to fear what has already happened. Ragnarok did not play out as the prophecy foretold. After all I should be bound in a cave beneath the dripping venom of a serpent right now."

Thor has posed:
Thor brightens at that. "Yes, you should. And what've you done instead? You restored Asgard to its original form, and gained the trust and respect of the people you've always wanted. They call you homebringer now. The true Ragnarok...that hasn't arrived yet. Perhaps it will at some later date, but likely, I think, not in the near future. Even if father were revived, it would take the Norns significant time to get destiny back on track. His premature death probably delayed it all significantly."

Loki has posed:
Loki smirks, "I don't envy them either. That's a lot of sewing.. always hated sitting with a thread and needle. Mother insisted.. said it was good for patience." He grins, "Then I suppose it's settled then! When do we start?"

Thor has posed:
Hmmm. "We should seek the Norns out for their guidance. If we're going to replace a missing thread, we need to ask the weavers who weave the thread in the first place. From there, perhaps we might learn how to do whatever it is that needs doing."

Loki has posed:
Loki nods, "This should be fun.. asking a convent of seamstresses to resurrect dear old dad! I'm in!" He considers, "I am certain that they won't be too pleased to see us.. mere insects petitioning them for such a thing. After all we are asking them to undo fate.. after fate has already been undone. But it's what I do as you know.. I grate everyone's nerves."

Thor has posed:
"...Not anymore, brother. Not anymore. Grating nerves is only who you used to be. It's not who you are anymore. Or did you miss all the people smiling and waving at you today?" Because Thor figures his brother couldn't possibly miss admiration, considering he desired it so long.

Loki has posed:
Loki smiles, "In any case I think that the Norns will be.. quite grated by our presence. We'll be interrupting whatever mitten project they've started since.. Ragnarok 1.0. I would suggest that we.. be polite." He seems genuinely concerned, "I've never actually spoken to them. I don't know if even father has. They could have the temper of an ogre with a thorn in its' foot. Or they could be cheery old ladies living in a perpetual tea party. I suppose we'll find out."

Thor has posed:
"...I expect riddles of some kind, myself. You'll be better at solving a riddle than I will. That's your expertise." Thor bashes things, but clever riddle solving is definitely his brother's job, as it goes. "I should probably bring some of my Midgard friends too. They are also very clever."

Loki has posed:
Loki nods, "Yes I suppose you should. Riddles.. they've had a long time to come up with puzzles that would try the patience of the world tree itself. But we have no choice.."

Thor has posed:
"Very well then. I will gather them, and we will head for their lair on the World Tree. It's...not a place to go lightly, but for this sort of thing, it's really the only place to go." Hmmm. "Be prepared then. We will leave for that place shortly. Soon as I gather my friends."

Loki has posed:
Loki grins, "I'm always ready. But none of my trinkets will help us there. Only our minds it seems..." He glances down at his cup, "This will be interesting.. to say the least. Of course they probably already know we're coming.. they probably wanted us to..." He sighs, "It'll get even more confusing the more you think about it.."

Thor has posed:
"It's true. Can't be helped." Thor isn't a deep thinker, that's why he's gonna bring a bunch of much deeper thinkers with him to figure out all the weird things that he won't figure out on his own. "...Well, brother, I suppose I'd better be off about collecting them. We'll leave soon."

Loki has posed:
Loki nods, "Very well then. I'll be ready when you are."
