Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Brainiac 5, Starfire

Brainiac 5 has posed:
It is in the evening, and while the Museum is set to close in another hour or so, the crowds have petered out -- ergo, Brainiac 5 has elected to dismiss his Image Inducer and move among the displays. He pauses at the Brainiac exhibit again, and lets out a slow breath, shaking his head before he moves on to study an image of Titano the giant ape, stroking his chin as he wonders exactly how one engineers Kryptonite eye lasers into a giant ape.

Starfire has posed:
It is in the evening - and about the time of night when the sun starts going down - and for Koriand'r of Tamaran, that was usually when her eyelids were starting to droop. In fact... in front of a display describing the Amazons, she brings up her hand to cover her mouth - before releasing the biggest yawn in the universe - her eyes pinching shut, her hand covering her throat, the works.

And when her eyes blink open again, they're a little bleary.

"Hmm hmm..." she says, casting a smile at one of the last hour-patrons of the place, and his daughter who was with him. But after that, she kinda steps along, meandering through the museum... when she pauses. Of course, being rather different herself, Kori had a attunedness to how differently different looking people must feel. But it also meant they caught the eye easier.

Kori pauses, her eyes narrowing. Lifting up to kinda hover, Kori kinda hovers up near to Brainiac, chewing on her lower lip. But it was then that she releases a GASSSSSP!, bringing up both of her hands to cover her own mouth. A pause. "Excuse me, are you part of the museum, or are you really a Coluan?"

Brainiac 5 has posed:
That makes Querl blink in surprise. "Huh?" He turns, and then rubs the back of his neck. "I... yes." He says, "I'm a Coluan." He looks down, and then back up, before he extends a hand. "My name is Querl." He tilts his head, the metal installed in his forehead and face glittering in the dim light, before he says, "You're a Tamaranean. I--" He pauses, and then says, "It's very surprising to meet a Tamaranean here. Your people are very... isolationist."

He stands there, with his hand held out, looking somewhat perplexed. "How may I assist you?"

Starfire has posed:
Regardless of everything else in the universe, the triangle on Brainiac's head does draw Kori's eyes. Just for a moment.

Glancing down to the offered hand, there was a brief pause of unfamiliarity with the motion, before Kori's glowy green eyes lift back up to Querl's own, and she gives a wide, toothy grin, before reaching to take ahold of his hand and pump it, perhaps a bit exaggeratedly. "Hello, Querl! My name is Koriand'r - but you can call me Starfire! It is what I am called here on Earth and ah..."

He knew about Tamaraneans. Starfire pauses.

"Well. Tamaran is going through some difficult times," she says, somberly. "Which is part of why I am here on Earth," she adds, her once-fallen features brightening up again. "But you! Why have you come to Earth?" she says, the smile sparking again, wide and bright.

Brainiac 5 has posed:
"Oh." Querl pauses, and then he says, "...Yes." He doesn't need to admit being from a thousand years in the future right now, so he pushes that fact slightly off to the side. "Well, my friends and I were... stuck here. And I'm working on locating all of them, and we've been building a ship." He points, upward.

Then he scratches his temple, and says half to himself, "Koriand'r... where have I heard that name?" Then he frowns. Something about the woman in front of him discourages dishonesty. "To tell you the truth... Princess Koriand'r? Is that right? I AM a Coluan... but I and my friends are actually from a thousand years in the future. We're trapped, in the past."

Starfire has posed:
There was a long pause from Kori then, her eyes widening - and then her smile draws bright. At least for a moment. Another few steps, and Kori folds her hands in front of herself, confusion touching her features as he describes the ship - furrowed brow, an almost concerned look on her face as she watches him - then looks upwards with the point, as if she could look through building and stars to see the ship proper.

Her eyes return to him.

Especially at his story. "Oh," she says. "...do you want to go back? To the future?" a beat. Princess Koriand'r? "Yes, I was a princess, but I am afraid that my sister controls much of what is going on back on Tamaran - for the time being - so I must be in the history books, yes? Do you know what happens to Tamaran?" she asks.

Brainiac 5 has posed:
"We would very much like to go home." Querl says. "There may be members of our Legion trapped there -- and the Legion of Super-Heroes never abandons its own." he quirks his mouth, and then says, "I... know a bit. Your people are very isolationist -- militantly so where races like the Khunds are concerned. You only engage in limited diplomacy with the United Planets and conduct all interestellar trade through third parties. But there are Tamaraneans who occasionally travel aboad in the greater galaxy. I don't feel at liberty to say too much more."

"But right now, we're looking to finish our ship and find our missing friends. It may take us years to return home. Our enemies are keeping us from doing so, and they're very powerful."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r cants her head to one side. "You do not feel at liberty to say more about them? Are there other Tamaraneans here on Earth? I /must/ meet them!" she says, her voice pausing a moment as he continues on his history. "I see. Is there any way that I can help you with your ship? I am not... much of a mechanic for the Tamaranean ships even, but perhaps fresh eyes could help?"

Brainiac 5 has posed:
Querl rubs the back of his neck, and actually looks away a bit, his cheeks coloring a darker green. "Well, Princess, the Legion has experience entertaining visiting dignitaries but I would need to make sure the others were alright with the idea." He adds, "You're a member of the Titans, right? I think it would be good for the other Legionnaires to make some friends in this era. Maybe we could arrange a..." He pauses. "A... what would you call it? A play-date?"

Starfire has posed:
The coloring of his cheeks changing grants Star a more curious tilt of her head now. Of course she understood blushing, but she wasn't so brash as to call it out. Most of the time. The edges of her smile lift up a little more, and the woman straightens her head.

"Oh, well, I am not really /royalty/ anymore, but if you would like to treat me like a princess, this would be very much ok for me!" she says. A beat.

"And yes - I am with the Titans. They are the ones who helped me when I... landed," she says. In a fireball, but these things are minor. "We could make a date with play, yes. We have a lot of video games, but perhaps they will not be as interesting as the video games from the future. I know we did not have anything like this on Tamaran, so - this has been very interesting to see. Unless you want to play board games, but I must warn you."

Kori leans in, as if sharing a secret. "...Monopoly is this game of misery and strife. Do not play it."

Brainiac 5 has posed:
Querl tilts his head, and then says, "Well..." He gives a little smile. "Some of the Legionnaires and I used to play an ancient game called Dungeons & Dragons. It was a creativity exercise. But Tamaraneans generally don't need to tell imaginary stories about being warriors."

Then he says, "Oh, is that the game about financial growth through property acquisition? What a barbaric idea, using control of property to force others into penury. I wish I could say that idea's died out in the future... but unfortunately no."

Starfire has posed:
Star nods her head solemnly as Querl identifies the game. "Yes, this is the one. It turns friends into enemies, and enemies into more enemies - it was a problem amongst the group that I played it with. I did not know this game beforehand, and well... it was a trouble," she says with a sigh.

"No, we do not - is that what this game is? When you find the dungeons and dragons you pretend to fight them?" A beat. "That sounds like an interesting game as well!" she enthuses.

Brainiac 5 has posed:
Querl is about to say something, before he tilts his head, and frowns -- and then says, "Begging your pardon, but I'm receiving a signal from our Cruiser. Yes, I'll be right there." Then he says, "We've located one of our lost Legionnaires. I need to go." He pauses, and then says, "...Would you like to come with me, and meet some of the others?"

Starfire has posed:
Kori pauses a few moments, before bobbing her head in a nod. "Yes - I would very much like to come and help - is everything very alright?" she asks, canting her head to one side as she looks towards the other. Her smile had disappeared, leaving her with a serious look.

Brainiac 5 has posed:
"I certainly hope so." Querl says. "Brainiac 5 to Cruiser-- K.O.K.O, open a Slipgate to the other Legionnaires." He turns, as a flash of blue light expands out of thin air in front of them into a shimmering portal. "It's completely safe," He says, to Kory, "I would never use crude molecular transporters."
