Cast of Characters: Prismatic, Cannonball

Prismatic has posed:
It was a gray day when Allegra Caradenza returned to Saint Cecilia's School. She wore gray pumps, a modest gray dress and a darker gray cardigan, as was expected f someone of her station, along with her hair pulled back into a bun and a small hat with a little veil fascinator.

She had arranged for a car to pick the two visiting mutants up at the train station, and had arrived, unannounced, at the massive oaken doors to the castle-like manor home of Dame Margaret 'Maggie' Florin, which housed the arts school as well. Students in blue-gray jumpers can be seen peering through the windows of classrooms as the strangers arrive at the door.

"Now, she is likely going to have a lot of questions..." she states softly, "provied my parents haven't told her anything."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head and would be in a suit and tie. He would have asked Alexis if it would be better to be black or some other color and took her advice. He does pretty good not tugging at the tie, and says "Am I allowed to tell her, I want to spent the rest of my life with you?" He asks her.

Prismatic has posed:
Alexis had instructed Sam well, and he was clad in a pair of nice tan slacks, a blue-gray sweater nd a gray overcoat, over a white button down shirt -- and a gray wool cap. Just for that extra bit of fancy.

And reaching up, Alexis rings the bell, which hangs above them, its brassy tones ringing in the country hair before an aged man opens the door He has a pair of nez peirce glasses clamped to the edge of his nose, an his white hair is standing all at an end. He adjusts his glasses:

"Good afternoon, may I inquire as to your busi--"

He blinks a moment as Allegra gives a bright smile.

"Oh, my eyes must be too watery to see straight, I see a dead woman before me!"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises a bit and tenses a bit as the words sound a bit like a threat to him, but the body language seems more like someone who missed someone. He looks over to Alexis and waits to see what she does and tries to follow her lead. The young man stays beside her but quiet

Prismatic has posed:
"H'lo Cecil. Is my grandmother in?" Allegra gives a smile, and the white-hire gentleman sweeps his arm out, inviting them in. "Oh, do come in, come in, you were expecte. Miss Weatherby -- she's employed here now instead of merely a student teacher, you knwo -- was own at the post picking up a parcel and phoned immediately to say that someone who looked much like our missing girl was stepping off the train station, and you know how word travels, dear!" he has a dry whisp of a voice, but seems lively and friendly. "Might I take your coats an your hat, sir? I'll stowe them in the closet and we'll set about. Dame Florin has been the most excited I've seen since you and young Jacob ended up setting the gray into the lake!" he laughs merrily, taking coats, jackets, and even reaching up to accept Sam's hat right off his head!

"And who is this young man? No doubt some dashing American lad, eh? Hard to resist, the Florin women, they all age quite beautifully!" hw chuckles as he busies himself, stowing the jackets and hat in a nearby closet and guiding them through the halls. He walks with a slight limp, but picks up a cane from where it was hanging off a table and begins to spout out bits of history bout the home.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and does give over the items to be put in the closet and says "Samuel Guthrie sir, a pleasure." Sam knows the guy is probably a butler, or maybe some other servant like that but he shows the man respect as he was taught for his elders. He walks along reaching for Alexis's hand as they walk to share confidence and comfort. He does listen to what is being said.

Prismatic has posed:
"Cecil is a distant cousin of my grandfather's, and grounds keeper here. There's not a nook or cranny of this house he does not know." Allegra explains as they're drawn through the house, past the kitchens where lunch was being prepared.

"And in 1974, the building was converted to a school, undoubtably this made not a lick of sense to the ancestors but what do they care! HA! They're dead, lads!" he laughs, and then opens a door to quite possibly the fanciest sitting room Sam might have seen. and while Filipe Caradenza's study was overly masculine and dark, this sitting room was well balanced. It wouldn't entirely look out of place at Xavier's, minus a portrait of the British monarch. the couches are comfortable affairs, with a table set in the midle. A sideboard holds pictures -- both family and students, including a portrait of a young Allegra, holding a violin and trying to look very serious, but not quite pulling it off.

All in all, it's very much a comfortable, warm atmosphere.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks around the room, and resists the urge to whistle softly at it. he has been exposed to some other fancy places at least, and says of Cecil. "Ah the family historian?" He asks seeming to understand someone keeping track of it. Once in the room, he looks at the different photos, and stops at the one who he believes is Alexis "This one you or your grandmother? " he will ask

Prismatic has posed:
"Tanned skin an in color -- that's me. I don't think my grandmother would keep young pictures of herself in the open with the other stuents." she laughs a moment curling her fingers at her side a bit as she looks around the room with familiarity.

"That ws taken at my first concert performance. I played Mozart." she explains as she steps near to Sam.

"She played better than most adults did, with a half-sized violin and shaking little knees. I remember it well." comes a wizened voice at the other side of the room as Dame Florin makes her way in.

She was old, certainly, but elegant. Her white hair was curled behind her in a french bun, and set with a dark clip. She wore a rose-colored skirt and jacket over a cream colore blouse, and walked with a black cane beset with peonies hand-painted to the ebony background.

And her face was awash with love and compassion as she lit upon her granddaughter.

    "Hello, my little warbler."

And Allegra gives a smile, and stepping forward she gives a courtesy curtsey.

"Dame Florin." she greets, and then brightly, "Grandmother, I'm /home/."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie was just putting his arm around Alexis's shoulders, but at the words from the grandmother, he will lower his arm. He turns and looks over Dame Florin, and nods his head to her "Ma'am." He says in greeting and looks over to Alexis, expecting her to go to her grandmother, and if Alexis needs it he will give her the slight nudge to go to her.

Prismatic has posed:
"That you are, dearheart." the old woman replies, and adjusts her glasses a moment, looking stern in that same way that Professor X Could look, but then her face softened, and she drew her hand in a circle. "Come now Allegra, you haven't lost your sense of family due to your horrible father, have you?" she questions, and the two embrace, holding one another for a long time. The old lady's hands smooth own her granddaughter's hair, and then she takes a step back, holding her by the arms. "You're taller. Hmph. So much for Neverland." she states gently, "And living alone, on the street? Not a word to me? You must have had some adventure." she gives a slight smile, a little bit of a twinkle in her pale blue eyes before she turns to Sam, and looks him up and down.

"And this is the rapscallion my son-in-law--" dirisive snort "'launched out' of his house?" she questions, and beckons Sam over.

"What is your name, young man?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is standing there in a sorta parade rest stance, easiest way to not be seen fidgeting with his hands. He will step up besides Alexis "Samuel Guthrie ma'am but most people call me Sam." He will tell her. "I hope you don't judge me to much by what you may have heard of me from him ma'am."

Prismatic has posed:
"Oh, I'm judging you harshly -- Cecil, be a dear and close the door." the old lady states, and she leans on her ane, closing her eyes, and looking quite stern.

"Encouraging my granddaughter to finish studies, running a mutant friendly establishment for the employment and protection of youth of all natures, defending others from attack and, on top of that, you *teach*, apparently." she states. "Not to mention you have straight teeth, decent baring and the absolute patience to put up with someone like Allegra. Oh, you're judged my boy. Biscuit?" she offers, and goes to have a seat on one of the couches. Allegra sits opposite her, and gives Sam a bit of a grin.

"Now, Guthrie is a Scottish name, is it not? I used to rather enjoy sourcing where people are from. My school has a population from around the world. We now sing in sixteen languages, and four dead tongues."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and does blush a bit at the lists of things he does and stops his hand before it makes it to the back of his neck, and says "Thank you ma'am." He will move to sit beside Alexis, and says "Yes ma'am, my family came to America a few generations ago, but Ah... I have gotten the chance to visit Scotland and met some amazing people there." He hmms at the languages and says "If you make recordings on the songs in different languages, I have a friend who I believe would enjoy them including the dead languages." He is trying to make an effort to pronounce his words properly accent there but at least Ah has become I with thought.

Prismatic has posed:
"My ancestors were Scottish. We've always been a bit rebellious." the woman replies, a twinkle in her eye as she brightly gives a small smile over to Sam. "Don't hide your accent, dear, you're trying too hard. If there is one lesson I tried to impart on all my students, it is to be proud of who you are and how far you have come on your journey. Tea?" she questions, and the door opens. A young man -- an actual butler -- brings in the tea service. There are little cucumber sandwiches. There are a few plates of different fancy cookies, and there is a dreaded pot of hot tea.

Alexis begins to pour, serving her grandmother first, knowing precisely how she takes her tea, and then pours for Sam -- a half cup. The tea, though is strangely red, and highly lemony-smelling. Almost sweet.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie does not make any remarks about the tea being hot. His brow does raise and he will lean in and smell it, but waits till the Dame and Alexis have some and at least one of them has tasted it before he does. "Ah have been a few places where people have complained Ah was hard to understand, and did not wish to be so." He offers a smile and says "One of my closest friends if Scottish, you may have heard of her Ma, Lady Mactaggert." He will name the lady scientist who lives and works out of Muir Island.

Prismatic has posed:
"Ah, yes. Passingly familiar." Maggie Fiore states as she sips her tea. The tea is indeed sweet and lemony, flowery almost, and piping hot!

"I did not know Lady MacTaggert had a child. Good on her." she gives a pleasant smile, and then explains:

"Mister Guthrie, I have taught children from around the globe. I have always been able to understand the thickest accents and most broken of English with ease -- because I care to know what others have to say. EXCEPT!" she points upwards, "My lousy doorknob of a son-in-law. I beleive the term used in America is 'he can pound sand'."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie sips the tea, and chuckles a bit at her comments about her son in law." He does watch Alexis reaction to this though making sure she is ok. "Moria took Rahne in as her ward about five years ago, but she has been at school with me during that time. Allegra has spoke well of your school, I am hoping on one of our future visits Ah maybe able to bring my brother with us.

Prismatic has posed:
"I see. And this school is specifically for others like yourselves, I gather? I heard word that you teach now, Allegra." the woman gives a slight smile.

Allegra had been elsewhere in thought, and looks startled a moment. "Ah... yes. I do. Violin, ballet, standing in for fencing, drama, French, music --" she trails off a moment, "I have so many lesson plans to write when we get back.."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "We have a rather diverse student body, much like your own in diversity but the combining part is other than music." He will reach over to rub Alexis' back briefly and says "And the students love her, almost as much as I do, even when she is giving them homework." He grins

Prismatic has posed:
"Good to hear. Or disturbing to hear, depending on the era, I suppose." the woman states quietly, and taps her cheek a moment.

"So, what subject do you teach, Mr. Guthrie? Out of curiosity." she gives a bright smile. "And does your brother sing? Play an instrument?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "I teach flying and some physics." He will tell the woman, and says "Both, he plays about as many instruments as Allegra, and has a wonderful singing voice, and he can make it quite amazing." He will pull his phone out and offer it to the lady qued up to one of jay's performances where he was using his normal voice.

Prismatic has posed:
Dame Florin adjusts her glasses a moment, and purses her lips, watching the boy play.

"He's very talented, I will give you that, but somewhat older than the majority of our starting students. I dare say, though, he would get the attention of many a young lady here."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles and says "Well there is one who has his attention and Ah hope they work out, but Ah do believe he would enjoy seeing your school even if not as a student." He says putting the phone away.

Prismatic has posed:
"I see... well, perhaps in time, we'll be happy to have them come over and take a look." the old woman states with a smile, stretching her fingers a moment as she considers and weighs options. She was always thinking, this one.

"Well, Allegra, I whole-heartedly approve of your choice in gentlemen. Such a nice young man."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie blushes a bit and does rub the back of his neck, and looks over to Alexis seeing her reaction. He looks to the elder lady "Thank you ma'am, family is important to me, and Ah am hoping to be on good terms with as much of Allegra's family as possible.

Prismatic has posed:
"Well. You're in awful terms with Filipe, which means you are already in my good graces. Other than my daughter the man has no taste." The older lady states, and Allegra just tries not to laugh. Seems she was quite familiar with how her grandmother viewed her father, and it was not at *all* favorably.

"So, do you plan on remaining teachers, the both of you? Is your school doing well? What qualifications are you up against for advancement..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods a bit and says "I plan on it for a while at least. next five to ten years possibly, but not fully sure, as Ah will admit, we have not talked about long term plans, other than the fact that we are wanting to be with one another for the long term.

Prismatic has posed:
"Long term meaning potentially 'life goals' down the road, yes, Nan." Alexis confirms quietly, and reaches for Sam's hand, giving it a bit of a squeeze. "In time, anyway. There's not a rush." she states quietly.

And the older woman gives a soft 'hmmm.' "Claudia doesn't speak much English yet, correct? Otherwise, I'm very glad you came here before you went to the villa."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises but thinks he knows who they are talking about. He squeezes Allegra's hand back, and says "I am hoping we might be able to make the trip over here a couple times a year, to spend time here and at the villia as well."
