Let's do the Limbo (DR session)

Synopsis:	Danger Room antics happen!

Shadowcat has posed:
The Danger Room has Kitty at the controls today, she's tapping away writing a program for Megan and Illy. Which doesn't mean, because they are best friends, Illy gets off easy. Oh no, not in the least.

"So" Kitty says as herr voic fills the danger room. "Once I finish this, you two will have an interesting experience. I've made something to play to your strengths. The safety locks are on. That's the only concession I'll give you. Now. Are you ready?" Kitty asks. "Oh anddon't worry. It's not that bad, it does play to your strengths after all. And after this, we hang out at Salem Center" Kitty says, pausing her typing.

Truth be told...Kitty's making this to test those two.

Magik has posed:
Illyana Rasputina leans against the wall of the room, clad in an oversized leather jacket and ripped jeans. Her platinum blonde hair hangs to her shoulders, bangs sharp across her forehead. She flicks her black-nailed fingers against each other and tilts her head towards Kitty at the end of the explanation.

"Worry? I don't. Ever," she says, with an exaggerated yawn. "Just gimme something to splat. I'm in the mood for dishing out a bit of gore and since none of the stiffnecks are at the board, I can indulge without getting lectured."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn is dressed in her standard black and gold uniform, ready for anything, although she's looking and acting more like Illy these days, ever since her soul dagger was stolen and she was infected with more dark magic. Her skin is lavender, claws growing from her fingers, and large grey batwings have replaced her cute fairy wings.

"I hope you know what you're doing, Kitty, I've no idea if I have any of the same powers I once did.." she sighs as she glances over at her frienemy. It's been a while, and she's probably not her favorite person, but they have worked surprisingly well together in the past.

"Ready when you are." she smirks, an oddly sadistic look on her face. "Yes, I'd like to splatter things.."

Red has posed:
Alice had not even seen the Danger Room till now, so getting invited to visit a session was kind of a surprise to her. Was she supposed to bring sports clothes or something? Or was she to watch? She had no idea. Especially since it had only been mentioned to her like once or twice so far. "So, this is the fabled Danger Room?" she asked to Ktty, glancing through the rather plain room. Because it's white and huge tiles and nothing visible, but that was most likely deceptive. Because, this looked nothing like dangerous. And they wouldn't name it DANGER if there was no danger in it.

Kitty looks to Alice and just nods. The holo porjectors do their thing. And...

It's....it's...it's.....not M'Town. No. It's as if Kitty tookk what each are good at, and made a section of the course to teach them to work as a team. Even Alice. See. Kitty's thoughtful like that. Wearing Lockheed as a hat, Kitty keeps the windows transparent.

Their goal is out of reach, but thanks to Kitty's coding magic the room has been set to scroll. Alright. Who gavo gave Kitty 80s platformers for inspiration? Hambone's got a lot of answering to do.

The first bit is, well, simple enough if you can fly or leap. Think a Mario level. Just in the clouds, with Scott's favorite lava waiting to catch the unwary. Okay, okay. Fake, imitation lava and bottomless pits. Oh, the fear should be real. THe walkways and launching pads are not made of brick. Nah. They are made of rooftops and buildings, as if the team are playing Mario atop New York's skyline. Or the mansion, if it was copy/pasted a few dozen times. Oh and look over there, in the distance. FoH assholes, pigeons, the odd low flying airliner taking off and climbing out, and...because it's New York City, and this is Kitty's creation...

A virtual flying Lockheed to try to knock them off. Or be ridden on if anyone wanted to cheat...and....

Kitty turns to face them and nods, as if telling them ya, you guys can start now...

Magik has posed:
Illyana Rasputina doesn't even bother with the jumping or the flying, just using stepping disks to teleport to the end. Sure, it was cheating, but wasn't that the point of superpowers? Skipping steps, jumping lines, doing what other people want but can't. Illyana had no interest in playing jumping games to please someone else's sense of fairness.

She buffs her nails on her POPPY t-shirt. She lights a clove cigarette and folds her legs as she watches the others try to navigate on their own. She might teleport them if they fall. Probably.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, "Rooftops? Yay.." she's not super agile enough to leap from building to building in a single bound, so she kinda cheats a bit, using her newfound bat wings to glide her across, peering below warily then focusing forward, searching for whatever it is they're going after.

"So...What's the goal, find the princess is in another castle and fight bowser and his minions or what?" she smirks, doing her best to dodge creatures that might try to knock her down. Oh sure she could just port to the end, but where's the fun in that?

"Cheaterr!" she rolls her eyes at Illy, "Aren't we supposed to work as a team?"

Red has posed:
Alice is the only one that is earthbound in the mix. And she can't teleport. Or jump more than a normal human can. Which means, she is the slow one in the mix that can't do either rooftop jumps OR glide to the next. And with a distinct lack of polymers in projected light, she can't even get herself stepping stones to make it easier. Which... leaves her pretty much stuck on the first platform. "Uhm... I have no idea? This is my first time. I have no idea?"

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty grins, "No, you finish this section, it sends you to the next part" Kitty answers tapping away. Oh, hello FoH goons with....oh snap, nets and hooks and...amnd things. "Defeat all the FoH and get to the end. Illy's already done half the work for you by getting to the end. There's a dozen FoH goons scattered across the rooftops. Pigeons, beware the flight to Boston, and all that. Hey Alicee if you need a hand ask your teammates" Kitty nods falling silent s she watches.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn rolls her eyes. "suure, by leaving your team mates behind. That's not very teamlike, y'know!" she practically snarls at Illyana. Glancing around, Megan realizes that they've left one team mate behind, and in her eagerness to outdo Illy, Alice has b een totally forgotten. She grimaces and doubles back.

"Sorry Alice, c'mon we'll still beat her!" she grabs her hand and teleports them to the end of the stage, but now there are a bunch of FoH thugs around and she frowns, unsheathing her claws. "Hey Alice, got any weapons with you?" she asks as she does her best to slash and swipe at any goons that get too close. She may not have her dagger anymore but she has pretty nasty claws.

Red has posed:
"Uh, no? I mean, I did not think of packing anything weaponlike and the room is distinctively lacking in polymers." Alice answers back to Megan, wanning over the goons. Armed with... well, her hands, she sighs, trying to take stock of what might be turned into a weapon while trying to dodge the goons holographic weapons. "This isn't fair in the slightest..."

Kitty's enjoying this too much. Megan's making inroads, though the pigeons are flying around too. So far, nobody's in lava. Sadly...sadly much to Kitty's chagrin. She cranks up the lava height to be at roof level. It's like she's subtly, or not so subtly, telling them to hurl the holographic goons into lava. Or watch out and not get into the fake imitation lava. Oh that's still hot, but it's like hot Jello really mixed with holy wtf I just fell in hot hot sauce!

Or in other words. Kitty's ramping this up a bit by bit.Pigeons. Goons. The odd jetliner or three or four every so often, and oh yeah the height of things. It doesn't help one of the goons stumbles and goes splat into lava.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and shakes her head. "Life is rarely fair, we just manage with what we've got." she does manage to disarm a goon, handing a gun to Alice. "Here, you can hit people close range with the barrel, and squeeze and aim from afar, like this!" she gives a demonstration. She may not be an arms specialist, but she did receive standard weapons training during the six years she's been with the Xmen.

Oh and now the lava is getting higher and she frowns, glancing around. "Careful, stay close to me. Just clear the area from behind, I'll take the front. Follow me and jump when I say. We'll get out of this!" she ducks as the pigeons and goons start shooting and what not. And what is with this weirdo place anyways?!

Red has posed:
Alice eeps as she catches the holographic gun, eying it suspiciously before she works her way to be back to back with Megan. "Back to back, so we don't have a blind spot?" she asks, holding the gun like a bloody beginner. It's not a good grip, pretty unsteady. At least she tries to aim, though she isn't good at this at all. Quite some of the bullets might not even hit on close range, and then there's the ammo capacity... turning the gun Click Click eventually, getting Alice face to panic. "It's empty!" She notes before resorting to trowing the gun at one of the goons while desperately trying not to get hit by flying stuff. Totally the fifth wheel on the car.
