Cast of Characters: Willow Rosenberg, Zach Daniels

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
It was looking to be a wonderful day. Willow came to Mercutio's to enjoy a sandwich and coffee, and sit out on the patio. Of course, Italo gave her biscotti. Of course. She had just broken out with her book (String Theory, II) and was looking for a good place to read. For know, for fun.

Zach Daniels has posed:
Up above the coffee shop, soaring up in the sky, Zach's in one of his infinitely curious moods. Civilization's stil new and shiny and exciting to him as he soars lazily, enjoying all the scents and sights. One of them has got him interested. Dipping a wing, he effectively just....drops, going head firrst downwards. He's not clocking very impressive speeds, nah but he flares his wings and hovers over the roof and watches everything before landing a short ways off and tucking his wings under his clothes.

Time to check what's making that interesting smell. It's not like that time he was poking around a trash heap because of the smell. This one's a whole lot nicer

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Probably just as well that she didn't catch him mid-flight. Though, she did know a few of them. But this time, she saw a man. And given that is a Willow, he's just pretty normal. And because it is Willow, she beams at him. "Hi!"

Zach Daniels has posed:
"Hey" Zach nods and waves....or wiggles his hand a little bit in a wave and looks to Willow. He's quiet and....well he's not sure how to ask what's making that great smell. That's just a weird question really. Instead, he looks over then looks over to the coffee shop itself. "Do they have good coffee here?" he asks, and looks over back to Willow.

"Also what're you up to?" he asks. His voice is gentle enough, no particular accent really.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Coffee? I guess it's okay? They got their machinery from Italy! But I'm really not a coffee connoisseur." She grins in a self effacing manner.

She's just found the perfect reading material, but he won't like it, will he?

"Uhm it's a book on String Theory. You probably won't like it." And because he looks to be talking to her, she closes the book. "Would you like a coffee? My treat?"

Zach Daniels has posed:
Is he being bought coffee? Oh, yes. Yes please! "Uh...yes, please. yes please" he says and blinks a few times. Okay, okay, he's got a pretty woman buying him coffee within five minutes of landing? Okay, see, this civilization thing isn't all bad. "Do they have those little pastry things? Italy always sounds interesting really" he offers and has a hand on a chair. "So....should I sit down and just listen now or, or....go through all the coffee and tell you which or, or..."

Great. Zach's flustered, taking a breath he looks to Willlow and offers a smile. "I'm Zach, and....yeah I'm making a hash of this aren't I?"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow is enchanted by the stranger. "I can go inside, but I think he'll come out to you." And she is right. Quick as a wink he has a coffee, and biscotti in front of him. "Mr. Italo worries about me. Don't worry about him, he's a friend."

She giggles a bit, "Not too bad. Usually I'm the one putting my feet in my mouth. I won't tell if you don't. Oh! I'm Willow. Pleased to meet you."

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach's doing good, given he's...well, he's still finding his feet. Wings? No problem. Feet though? Under the table. The coffee and bischotti are met with a nod of thanks as he goes to take a sip and sets it back down at her giggling. That's music to his ears. "I'm used to ending up in strange places. I've spent a while on my own" he admits and finally sips his coffee, setting it back down. "Ow, that's hot...ow ow ow hot coffee" he admits and waits for it to cool down. Nobody ever told him in his five years of poking around civilization, coffee is served hot. Still though he watches Willow quietly. "Willow, like the tree? I used to live out in the middle of nowhere among trees" he says betweeen bites. "Lots of birds singing..."

And there he is, impersonating birds tweeting, too.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Of all the people that might have been he just happened to be with Willow. Most of his strange goes over her head. "Yes, that one. They linger around the water. So you were around water. Neat. Why did you decide to come here? I wish I had a parcel of land, well, sometimes." Then, "Oh! If it's too hot, use your biscotti then it's the right temperature. Just a minute."
A roll of the spoon, and she whispers. Almost immediately the coffee cools right down. "See? You must have started it, looks ok to me." A little bit of magic is released.

Zach Daniels has posed:
Testing his coffee again, Zach sips it. "Thanks" he says with a nod over to Willow, watching her keenly then follows Willow's advice on the bischotti. See. This helps.

Looking over to Willow again over his coffee, Zach nods. "I had some land out in the middle of nowhere, by water but I got driven out of it when people with those big things with buckets on them, they came in and wanted to tear it all down. I ran them off though and that led me to here. That was five years ago"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Oh my! I'm sorry. But if you didn't, we never would have met. Still, that sucks." A pause. "Are you going back?"

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach cracks a smile. "True, you've books you said I wouldn't like, and you bought me coffee" he smiles looking thoughtful. "So, would I go back? No, I'm here now. If I go back I wouldn't get to see all that these cities have to offer" he nods. Pausing he sips his coffee more and looks over to Willow over his coffee cup. "You're right it sucks but it led to us meeting. So what's that book about?" he asks curiously. There's a slight rustling as he shifts position in the chair.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"It's about string theory. You aren't telling me that you enjoy it?" Willow laughs. "I know I am weird, you don't want to be nice. My best friend, Buffy, makes these weird noises then the try to explain them. Trust me, I know. Though you remind me me friend, Kara. She's down to earth. Like you!"

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach looks over and blinks with a wave at her book. "Is that like balls of yarn?" he asks not even picking up his coffee. "No no why wouldn't I be nice? I mean, I mean you bought me coffee" Zach nods. "See, this Buffy sounds good and this Kara sounds like she's honest and tells the truth"

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow blinks, "Yarn? Huh?" She shakes her head. "It's an advanced math book. I was going to read about fractals. Did you know almost everything can be reduced into fractals. It's really neat and I'm doing it again. Sorry." A pause. "You don't owe me anything for the coffee. Really."

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach lifts his gaze from his coffee, "Doing what again?" he asks, sipping said coffee quietly. "Oh, no, no, string...like balls of yarn or string. Is that the string theory you're reading about?" he adds with a straight face and laughs gently. "Fractals, no no. I've not studied them at all" he says. Open mouth. Insert feet and wings...

"I mean, are you sure I don't owe you anything?" he asks. "I mean you said it's your treat, so see, it's nice here" he smiles. Nope, close mouth before dropping yourself in trouble, Zacharias..

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Oh! Like a grandma uses. No. Not that string." That's about all she knows about it. Two topics probably off the table. "Do you always expect that people wont be nice? Geez, no wonder. Honestly. It's yours!"

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach looks over the table to Willow. "Oh" he says. There's not a trace of disappointment actually as he listenns and shakes his head.

"Oh no no, I just expect people to be themselves" he says sounding relieved as he watches Willow. "Well then" he smiles, tilting his head to Willow. "So" he offers, "So, see. I'm not being mean. I'm just used to finding who I am, yeah" he explains

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Oh," Willow blushes. "See?I don't get that. Why would you give someone something, and then demand something else. Sometimes people don't make sense. I figure, if I can afford something, and I decided to gift to you.. Really, I'm not the best person when figuring out people."

Zach Daniels has posed:
Zach nods. "I don't get people either really....but I need to get going" he offers and finishes his coffee and bischotti, loooking pleased. "Thank you Willow. I don't want anything in return" he says and nudges his chair back. With one move, a slight twist of his body he's unfurled his wings, all fifteen feet of copper wings and he's taking to the air with powerful wingbeats. No, he didn't bring his bike, that'd be too easy. Either way he's climbing up into the sky with powerful movements of his wings....yes, Willow can't miss it this time.
