Location: Bushwick (Mutant Town), Brooklyn
Synopsis: Megan's sword is stolen and she goes on an adventure with E.V.A. to get it back.
Cast of Characters: Pixie, Fantomex

Pixie has posed:
It's been a few days since Megan returned to the real world. After the whole faerie vs. gremlins war, she could really do with a little rest and relaxation, even if it meant lugging this big, heavy long sword around with her wherever she went. She'd tried to find a certain fae queen with no luck. She'd also tried to separate her dagger from the evil sword that contained hundreds of trapped faerires, with no luck.

Now, exhausted from trying everything she could think of, Megan laid the sword next to her on the grassy knoll as she lay asleep on the top of the hill. Hey, it's mid-afternoon and she doesn't expect another altercation, but she kinda sticks out with her pink hair and bat wings.

A couple of pairs of eyes watch her from the shadows, watch her sword too, quite greedily.

Fantomex has posed:
Falling asleep in Mutant Town single decrepit park is not a good idea. Sure, during the day the place safe enough (except for mutant tikes doing mutant things, which can get chaotic sometimes, or explody). During the night, well, very bad idea.

Megan should know better.

It is just mid-afternoon, so the worst creeps are not blatant yet. But there are some thieves and thugs around. And Megan is lucky they are not the only ones watching her.

Pixie has posed:
Indeed, it's a really bad place to fall asleep, but can you blame her? She's been running around everywhere, looking for her fellow fae friend with no luck and..Gosh, the sun and the spring breeze feels good on her face. She smiles softly as she enjoys her dream of butterflies and waterfalls and faeries..

"Quick, over here!" one of them whispers, grabbing the sword hilt, tugging on it. The other laughs, "That's the girl, isn't it? Maybe we should shake her up a little too!" Two punks, one with long black spikey hair, the other with a short spikey mowhawk. They both look like teenagers, toughenned up by the street life, both hardenned mutants. The green haired boy grabs the sword while his friend reaches a hand towards Megan. "Heh, she ain't goin' anywhere!" he flicks a wrist and hurls a bunch of large porcupine spikes around her sleeping body, pinning her to the ground.

"Hmm let's see..How do the wings work?" he reaches for one of her wings..

Megan opens her eyes wide. "Heey! Lemme goo!!" she wriggles and struggles against the spikes. "Dammit!"

Fantomex has posed:
There is a whispered 'wake up, Megan' that completely fails to get through the girl's happy dreams. It was a feminine voice Megan might have recognized, if she had heard it! Then a louder warning, that comes too late as the thug is already pinning Megan with spikes.

So what follows is a little odd.

There is a miragelike effect for a second, and then something big and metallic smacks against the heads of both thugs. It fitzes in and out, like a malfunctioning TV, except Megan might realize the metallic thing is trying to stay invisible but it can't.

So, there is almost a mechanical snort, as the 'thing' reveals itself. It is a sphere of iridescent metal-glass, surrounded by a ring of silvery metal. It hovers a few feet over the ground and it is deploying a landing gear of thing insect like legs.

Last time Megan saw her it was the size of a cue ball. Now it is the size of a large truck. "You let her go," says the synthesized female voice.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks slowly, hearing a strange, synthetic voice and yawns and stretches. Indeed, she's pretty relaxed and only snaps out of it when the porcupine quills pin her to the ground.

The two teens shriek as they get hit in the head, stumbling back and one falls to the ground. They seem pretty tough though. The green haired guy grunts and holds out his hands, unleashing a blinding green gas of sorts.

It seems to affect Megan, making her cough and wheeze and struggle all the more against the quils. The second guy spikes up again and unleashes another shower of quills towards the robot. It probably wont do a heck of a lot of damage - who knows? but it's at least a distraction, enough that will hopefully allow them to flee under cover.

Fantomex has posed:
The 'robot' is indeed a bit too large for the spines to do much, although if they hit hard enough they will do some minor damage. The gleaming shell is not really armored. But it is metal.

The main response of the attack is to kick the spike guy. With its 'landing gear' leg, which must be 100 lbs. of metal. So it is a pretty nasty kick that could break some bones of a normal human. "Are you deaf! Just leave her alone!"

Pixie has posed:
"Aaah!" the spike guy shrieks in pain as he is kicked, falling to the ground and clutching his injured leg. He's pretty tough, probably has some armour or something, but he's probably not going anywhere for a bit..Unfortunately his friend is already running away, carrying the stolen sword.

Megan meanwhile, now fully awake, snarls, vanishing in a flash of pink energy, leaving behind the outline of spikes in the ground. "Now I'm angry!!" she yells, spreading out her wings, raining down that nightmarish glitter on the hapless mutant who shrieks and stumbles slowly to his feet. But in his current condition he can't get away fast enough and certainly not far enough. He brings up his arms as he experiences some pretty horrifying nightmares and starts unleashing more random spikes all over the place.

"Demons! Leave me alone!" he shrieks. Unfortunately his cries attract the attention of some of his friends, two big burly men who come running towards him, one who unleashes electric bolts towards the machine, another who reaches for his injured friend, lugging him to his feet as if he weighed little more than a wounded puppy. "C'mon, we got the sword, we can come back for the girl later!" he sneers.

Fantomex has posed:
The flying saucer seems happy to let the other guy flee with the sword. In truth she doesn't realize it was Megan's. Besides the other two thugs coming seem more problematic. "Stay away, I am warning. gggzzzzz,"the electric bolts seems to hurt the gleaming metal thing and she stumbles back, losing balance and crashing the metal ring on the ground. "Ow!"

That sounded like real pain.

She seems recover quickly, though, straightens up, and buzzing angrily. "Yes, you better leave now! Or else!"

Pixie has posed:
It seems porcupine guy is pretty confused still, lost in his nightmarish realm as he struggles against his strong friend's arms. "Demons! Everywhere!" he shrieks and continues to fight with his strong friend, unleashing more quills at him.

His electric friend snarls, hands still crackling as he glares at the robot. "Back off tin can, or I'll zap you another good one! Ack!" he stumbles to the ground suddenly as a shower of quills slices into him too.

Megan meanwhile, seems more concerned about the sword as she hovers in the air peering around. "Oh no..My sword's gone!"

Fantomex has posed:
"I am not made of tin, you jerk," E.V.A. can't exactly glower being a flying saucer of glass and metal, but she tries. Then the ganger gets hit by quills, "serves you right," she adds.

Since Megan is now flying, E.V.A. also takes off, hovering up slowly. She was going to follow her when the half-fairy speaks about her sword. "It was yours? I had no idea you had a sword. I am sorry."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs, peering around and nods. "Yeaaah...Thanks for helping get those jerks away from me though, they probably would have tried to kidnap me again or something.." she rolls her eyes, keeping a wary eye on them, but right now they seem to be too busy fighting each other to pay attention to her.

"Heey, where's your friend, Fantom? Haven't seen him in a while..Hope he's not in trouble.."

Fantomex has posed:
"He is always in trouble," replies the flying saucer, sounding a bit annoyed. "But well, he is... sleeping. In other city." It doesn't explain much, but E.V.A. is not supposed to say anything about Fantomex.

"I don't like to be seen," adds E.V.A. and the gleaming dome slides aside, forming a door large enough for Megan to slip inside. "Hop in, I'll go stealth mode and we can search for your sword."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, "Woah, really, uh.." she makes a face. "Umm, well I guess he's okay then, huh.." she shrugs, peering around. "Well looks like we can handle this one without his help..Hopefully.." she bites her lip though, peering at the door a bit nervously, biting her lip. Wow. It's like a big hover car but.."Umm, really? In there? I dunno.." she shivers, stretching out her wings, "Looks a bit tight..I..I don't like confined spaces.." actually she looks really nervous. Probably not a big fan of small cars either.

Fantomex has posed:
"It is large enough for eight people," points out E.V.A. but she won't insist. Her other way to go stealthy would be to shrink down. But that means she can't use her sensors. "Do you know where the boy with your sword went. If not, we can follow his friends. I am sure they will meet with him soon."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn hmms, drawing a deep breath. E.V.A.'s compartment DOES look pretty roomy, but she prefers to stretch her wings. She nods and smiles, "I'll be okay, although, hmmm.." she narrows her eyes, peering around then draws a deep breath closing her eyes in deep concentration. The mutants down below have eventually worn off the hallucinogenic dust and made a run for it, which means it'll be a cold trail by now, however..Megan has other ways of tracking her soul dagger.

"Huh, I think it's that way..." she opens her eyes and points towards the east, towards a particularly rough area of town. "Come on, it' not far! Hopefully we'll get it back before dinner!" she grins and starts to fly off towards said direction. The sun is slowly starting to set. It'll be night soon.

Megan would rather not be galavanting around this dangerous neighborhood at night..

Fantomex has posed:
E.V.A. has powerful sensors she could have used to track the mutants. Certainly, she is not going to forget the power signature of the one that electrocuted her anytime soon! But since Megan prefers to fly, she follows her, quickly reducing her size until she is no larger than the winged girl.

"If you want to call some of your friends," she offers, "we can wait for them. That gang has at least two mutants with powers that would be dangerous to you."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn bites her lip, peering around as she lets the sword signature guide her and shakes her head, "No time, besides I've got you with me, and I can take a couple of mutants!" she may be a bit too cocky, but Megan is nothing to scoff at either. "I think we're close, but I'm worried..The sword is unstable.."

The words are barely out of her mouth when there is an explosion in an old, condemned building down below, which quickly bursts into flame..

Fantomex has posed:
"I can help but... are you sure?" E.V.A. does not exactly sound skeptic, but it is hard to notice what she means with a total lack of mannerism and facial expression. "Wait, what do you mean with unstable? It did read strange but..." explosions.

It is Mutant Town, so explosions are not that rare. Maybe it is a coincidence. "Unstable in the explosive sense?" She asks in a knowing tone.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, quickening her pace and nods, "Something like that..Come on!" as she nears the place, a small group has already gathered outside the building, screaming can be heard as squatters have already started to flee the building. But..No fire trucks have come yet. Are they delayed or...?

"Dammit, he must have triggered a spell in it. We've got to find the sword or things could get worse.." she approaches the building but flinches as another explosion is heard from an upper floor, followed with more screaming. "I...I dunno.." she shivers, remembering a similar manner her father was killed in. "But if I do t.." Megan swallows about to head in.

Two of the mutants from earlier run up, looking shaken, "We're sorry! We didn't mean this to happen...Our friends are in there, you gotta help them! In this neighborhood, no one cares if a condemned building goes up in flames!"

Fantomex has posed:
"Police and firemen response is a 187% slower in this area of the city than in Manhattan," offers E.V.A. She is aware of these facts because, well, Fantomex is a thief. Not that he steals much in Mutant Town, but he studies this kind of thing.

"My technorganic form makes me fairly resistant to heat and nearly impervious to fire," she reports. "But perhaps you should try go teleport in some seawater, Pixie. If you want to come in."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn draws a deep breath and nods. "I'll...I'll be okay..Just gotta find that sword before one rose happens.." and closing her eyes she rushes in, trying hard to see, to breathe in spite of the smoke. A cry for help can be heard from somewhere upstairs, but in this thick atmosphere, and Megan more panicked than usual, it'll be hard to get her bearings let alone teleport.."E.V.A? Can you do anything about this smoke?"

Fantomex has posed:
E.V.A. follows Megan, hovering quietly near the young woman. "No, I can't protect you, I am sorry Megan. I think you should leave before you hurt your lungs or get burns. I will find your sword and bring it to you if possible."

E.V.A. has shrunk some more, to fit better the indoor hallways. That limits her further, but she needs the extra maneuverability. "A building this old might collapse in any moment."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, covering her face as she plunges further into the building, eyes still closed, trying to feel her way around. "And what of his friends? Can you really grab the two kids, the sword and get out?" she steadies herself against a nearby wall, coughing.

"Plus if I don't calm the sword down, things will only get worse.." she's been known to be a bit impulsive, maybe even a little foolhardy but..

"Can you see the stairs? I think I heard yelling upstairs, just guide me forward, I'll make it okay.." she hopes.

Fantomex has posed:
To be honest, E.V.A. is not sure of what she can do or not do. She usually does what Fantomex tells her to do, this whole adventure is kind of new for her. It is a bit strange to have to make decisions alone in the real world. "I am not sure," she admits. "Alright, follow me," her sphere grows brighter, so Megan can follow her through the smoke. "Lifeforms ahead, to the right," she chirps.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn is glad for a spot of light in the darkness and follows after her, trying to focus on E.V.A and her voice. Which makes it easier not to panic from flashbacks of crumbling tunnels and a traumatic childhood. "Huh, how many? Are they still alive?" it's a short flight up the steps to the next floor and Megan climbs the steps before turning down the right corridor, peering through the smoke and coughing some more.

Fantomex has posed:
"Afirmative," replies E.V.A. "although one of them seems unconscious. There is a door on the way, but the glowing technorganic saucer just crashes through it. "Here," wherever is here, the smoke is pretty thick. And E.V.A. is visibly growing again, in the case there is a fight. Usually there is a fight.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn swallows a bit, staying close to E.V.A. As she crashes open the door, there is a rush of wind and heat and more smoke, though perhaps even more intense. Megan hesitates to enter, overcome with fear. "We're running out of time! I dunno if I can.."

"H-help...Mee.." a weak, desperate voice calls out, waving an arm in the smoke. The blast of wind comes from the sword which is more unstable than before, but at least it clears the smoke around the young green haired guy from before and his strong friend who is unconscious nearby. Green haired guy is trapped under a heavy board of wood, the sword on the ground next to him.

Fantomex has posed:
E.V.A. hovers towards the window, considering crashing through. But that would be dangerous considering backdraft. "Can you teleport them away?" She asks the bat-winged girl. "I believe we have only a minute before the ceiling collapses. You could try to drag them inside me, but that board looks too heavy for you." And E.V.A. has a certain lack of hands.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, stepping towards the wooden board. She tries it and gasps, stepping back, "Ouch, hot! ummm.." she swallows as the place is rapidly starting to come down around them. "Y-yeah...I think so, can you provide some cover?" she glances at the unconscious boy and starts to drag him closer to the pinned guy. Though she seems pretty anxious, glancing around as bits of wood burst in flame, smoke growing thicker. Squeezing her eyes shut, she grabs the sword last, not about to leave it behind.

Fantomex has posed:
"What kind of cover?" Asks E.V.A. Unless Megan wants to hide inside her, EVA can't offer much cover. And now she is not large enough for three mutants. "You need to hurry up," she insists. "I think I would be quite upset if you die here."

Yes, that is a somewhat odd statement. But E.V.A. lacks experience dealing with loss. And also dealing with people. And also existing.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn wipes her brow, buckling the sword at her hip, "Hey, you can grow pretty big right? Just try and hover above me, you can probably take the fire and collapsing wood better than me.." she flinches, darting back as more wood comes crackling down. "Here goes! Sihal..Novarum.." more rubble falls down and she shrieks, darting against the wall.

Fantomex has posed:
E.V.A. moves over Megan, although the girl will probably need to duck. It is not a large room. "To a point... I am not at my full size and I am weaker and easier to injury like this." She shudders as pieces of mortar and plaster fall on her. "Please, do hurry up," she insists, managing to sound stressful even with her synthetized voice.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn glances at E.V.A., wincing and scared for her own life and that of the others here, including E.V.A. "Thank you...I-I can do this...!" she grits her teeth, swallowing her fear as she straightens again, huddling under E.V.A. as the A.I. bravely covers her and tries again: "Sihal Novarum...Chinoth!" the four of them are surrounded by brilliant pink light as the spell kicks in, seconds before the entire ceiling collapses, engulfing the second floor with flames.

A few miles away, they reappear in the peaceful park hill that they started out in. Megan gasps and coughs, glad to breathe in fresh air again, rubbing her eyes as she glances around, "Phew, everyone okay..?"

Fantomex has posed:
There is a loud crunching sound as E.V.A. falls down, sending bits and pieces of smoking wood and concrete around the area. The flying saucers pushes itself 'upright' deploying again the landing gear. She is the size of a large sedan now, the metal and glass surface looking stained by smoke and ash. "I am well. Teleportation is disconcerting. I was disconnected from the networks and from Fantomex."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn meeps, running to check on E.V.A. "Oh nooo, are you sure? Can you shrink down to size?" she sighs "Thank you fir helping me, E.V.A. Guess I'll have to find Fantomex the old fashioned way...He ain't be too happy." once she's assured that E.V.A.is ok, Megan turns her attention to the would be mutant thieves, checking their vitals, "Phew, they seem okay, no major wounds but I should drop em off at a hospital just in case..What a pain, this sword is getting g too unstable and dangerous.."

Fantomex has posed:
"Oh, it was just for a few seconds," comments E.V.A. "you couldn't find him if you tried," she adds. "But it will be alright. I am glad to have been of some help. I... better return to Gotham now." She takes off again. "Farewell, Megan. Don't fall asleep in a park again, please."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, peering up at E.V.A. and waves, "Take care, E.V.A.!" Phew what a strange adventure..
